Über das Spiel
Shadow Warrior 2 is the stunning evolution of Flying Wild Hog’s offbeat first-person shooter following the further misadventures of former corporate shogun Lo Wang. Now surviving as a reclusive mercenary on the edge of a corrupted world, the formidable warrior must again wield a devastating combination of guns, blades, magic and wit to strike down the demonic legions overwhelming the world. Battle alongside allies online in four-player co-op or go it alone in spectacular procedurally-generated landscapes to complete daring missions and collect powerful new weapons, armor, and arcane relics of legend.
STORY
Five years have passed since Lo Wang shattered the alliance between his deceitful former boss and the ancient gods of the shadow realm. Despite noble intentions, Lo Wang’s efforts to annihilate the darkness corrupted the world, creating a strange and savage new order where humans and demons live side by side.
The once feared warrior now lives in the shifting wildlands outside the reach of his enemies and the neon glow of Zilla’s cybernetic metropolis, scratching out a meager existence as a hired sword for the local Yakuza clans. When a simple mission goes wrong, Lo Wang is drawn into a volatile conflict between a brilliant young scientist, his nemesis Orochi Zilla, and the demonic forces that have become unsettled in our world. The sharp-tongued hero must once again wield lethal blades, staggering firepower, and archaic magic to purge the world of evil.
Features:
Blades and Bullets: Lo Wang delivers his own brand full throttle brutality with an expanded array of over 70 lethal blades and explosive firearms to overcome the demonic opposition. Become a whirlwind of steel and blood with razor sharp katana, short swords, crescent blades, and hand claws or unleash a hellish symphony of ornate firearms to decimate your enemies.
Four Player Co-Op: Battle through the expansive campaign alone or team up as a four-player typhoon of destruction online in campaign co-op mode. Tackle challenging primary missions or thrilling side quests while maintaining your own ninja style with customizable armor, items, and valuable loot from your triumphs.
Procedural Environments: The breach between the human and demon realms created an interdimensional hernia resulting in constant shifts to the world of Shadow Warrior 2. Procedurally generated landscapes and paths bring new twists and turns to once familiar terrain and routine missions.
Brutal Damage System: Choose your weapon based on the situation at hand and then dismantle everything that stands in your path with an advanced gore system. Use precision blade strikes to separate limbs and heads or switch to heavy ordinance and blow a hole right through colossal beasts.
Custom Upgrade System: Upgrade weapons in your arsenal with up to three stones at once to improve performance or augment them with devastating elemental effects. Collect karma, amulets, and armor to enhance Lo Wang’s power and shift his death-dealing artistry into overdrive.
Shadow Warrior Series
The Shadow Warrior series started back in the 90s with Shadow Warrior Classic that was remastered and released on Steam by Devolver Digital and 3D Realms as Shadow Warrior Classic Redux. Then in 2013, Flying Wild Hog and Devolver Digital released the bold reimagining of the legend of Lo Wang with the modern classic Shadow Warrior.

'Einigen Leuten gefällt, was du machst. Andere Leute hassen, was du machst. Den meisten ist es aber scheißegal.' - Charles Bukowski

The maps are big, the settings are nice, the number of different settings isn´t.
If you play too long in one session it might feel repetetive.
Another thing some people might dislike is the huge number of powerups to attach to your weapons, which may require you to sort through the menu several times.
I missed more funny dialogues and words that are said when a enemy finishes in pieces.
I like the cookies.... and the game. It´s great for some action.

Summary
Shadow Warrior 2 is a classic FPS quake/doom style shooter, with a twist.
The gameplay overall is great, but most of the time it feels like you are just dashing all over the map.
When it comes to graphics, the game delivers, there is a noticeable upgrade over the first game which comes at a cost of HW requirements, this game is not easy to run on pretty graphics and high framerate.
Coop is in my opinion one of the major selling points for this game, unfortunately, the game feels too easy in the coop. I did beat the game on the highest difficulty solo, and it was at least 10 times easier than the previous release. It can be fun for a few hours but may get boring pretty fast.
Upgrades and weapons, unlike in the previous Shadow Warrior games, you can upgrade your weapons and also buy or get new weapons. This is amazing and terrible at the same time.
Upgrades in form of gems that you can put into your weapons and on character are great, but after a few hours you will gather hundreds of them, and sorting through that stuff takes a lot of time even with the filters.
As for the weapons, most of the weapons that you can buy are not an upgrade and sadly not every weapon does have a cool animation, some appear very generic compared to others.
The weapon reloads animations are amazing, definitely one of my favourites.
Cutscenes are either funny or trying to be funny, depending on your sense of humour.
The story is all over the place, compared to the previous games it feels short and not that interesting, I still liked it, but it won’t be winning any best story game awards.
It is very repetitive, there are overall 3 main maps that do change randomly, which helps a little but not much. Other than that the goal is always the same, go there kill that go back get the reward repeat. It just won’t keep you entertained forever.
The grind for better gear is extremely annoying, it’s all based around random chances, so it might take 1 good drop or craft to get what you wanted or you spent hours and hours to get a few good gems. Don’t even want to know how many orbs you will need to fully upgrade a single weapon.
Playtime: 5-15 hours
Achievements: All of them would be reasonably easy to do, just “The Way of Masamune” requires a lot of unnecessary work in other words it’s waste of time.
1-2 playthroughs, the max difficulty is not as hard as in the previous games.
Overall: 8.5/10
Additional notes
I am a big fan of Shadow Warrior games, I like the silly humour used by the main protagonist and overall simple gameplay.
Shadow Warrior 2 did a lot of things right.
Overall I would say that this game was a lot of fun.
If it wasn’t for that one achievement, the game would be almost flawless as far as blow stuff up games go.

Shadow warrior 2 is like, DOOM meets Borderlands for me.
-Guns that do different things and are effective, and modifiers that you can add and remove at will to make guns do almost whatever you want them to.
There really isn't too much to say. it's a very playful jab at itself that does a pretty decent job at giving you the reigns at how you want to play it. Missions are basically playgrounds with points of interest and dialogue. Story is pretty forgettable but fine, camera is probably the only FPS camera that is nauseating... And large mobs of enemies feel like they have some form of magnetism effect on Master Wang... But after that, it's a very fun shooter with a little bit of stabby thrown in for safe measure. Wang can whip himself around very well, and can back up all the junk he spits out. Gameplay obviously came first... And it brings me joy to say that.
What I will say though, is that it has a rough start. Low reserves of ammo and weapons that basically just irritate enemies is what you'll start out with, along with modifiers that only seem to make you run out of ammo faster, and aren't worth the effort. A shotgun and ammo save modifiers are probably a must if you're not trying to get stuck chopping up everything because you have no ammo. I promise it gets better.
I didn't have the luxury to play this in Co-Op. And to be honest, it didn't matter, every second you put into this game pays back dividends.

Another thing that is different is the writing. While the first game was funny, and didnt take itself too seriously, this game continues very much along the same thread but makes lo wang into a bigger assholes and all the side characters into treating him like hes just an asshole. This guy helped save the world and is currently doing the same thing again, he may be an asshole but hes the only one doing anything. I much preferred the first games writing. In the last one Lo Wang was a confident ego driven sometimes too ego driven good guy who eventually does whats right in order to save the day instead of his bank account., but most importantly cleverly written, witty and funny. In this game they just forget about character development and make him into an asshole. Again I like that about him I like how hes a funny asshole that likes things his way and little else. But he also seems much more limited in his verbal acuity, just more one dimensional, less witty, more immature. The problem I have is that they just go a different a route, and I think its because of the open nature of the quests in the game.
You see since the last game was more linear it could be more focused on the characters and the story happening from point a to b. But since this game operates on a pick the mission you want to do in whatever order you want fashion (outside main missions) you have to write a consistent character not necessarily one that progresses. You see they use a tile set system like warframe and the missions usually involve going to the area and killing a bunch of bad guys. Typically just 3 areas - some asian inspired slum city, The magical forest area, or the cyberpunk metropolis. Maybe getting a key first to open a wooden door while you have a grenade launcher and a sword that slashes clean through demon guts. Which was something I didnt like in the first game was the immersion breaking 'get the key' part of the quest. Im motherfucking Lo Wang and you're gonna feel the wrath of my Wang. C'mon, its just ridiculous. But its also immersion breaking when you realize that outside of main quests Lo wang doesnt really talk anymore.
Other than that yeah the gun play is good. A lot of the upgrades dont matter. Anything increasing damage or elemental damage is best. I mean as gameplay goes its fun as hell. Very fun, if not just a little repetitive as you're gonna fight a lot of the same enemies and I mean A LOT. You have basically demons, humans, and Robos. Demons are basically all melee with slightly different attacks and patterns. A Although you'll see that spiders gang up on you like the pigs or the tiny guys just the same. I mean they feel different right. Spiders crawl and die easily the pigs rush you and the tiny demons jump towards you, but ultimately they're still using different melee tactics, and when they get close its basically like they're the same. You'll see roboscorpions which are just a reskin of the spiders Im pretty sure and dont do anything effectively different than having more hit points. The robo guys can be annoying as they shoot you with prfect accuracy while they roll around and bob and weave all over the place. And the humans are just there. They seem really bland and a weird contrast to all the weird enemy types going on. But they dont come up often so Im not complaining especially since theyre in the first game too.
All in all its a fun shooter that carry's the legacy of the first game well, Im still confused as to why they made into a warframe style shooter, maybe to help out the co op elements? Or make it more like an mmo? Maybe they thought they'd get more player retention or money from this type of game? I really dont know but I also appreciate it in some aspects, as without this type of game we couldnt get multiple awesome guns and stats, there would be no narrative reason for having an opportunity to drop Lil'Wang for something else. Which is still upsetting but whatever. The gun play is fun, the enemies present a reasonable challenge and you'll have to upgrade and get better to continue having the same results. Bosses are lack luster. Typically a bigger version of a regular enemy or alternate version, but if you dont mind that and really enjoy the combat youll like this game. Not the same as the first, not worse either, just vastly different in ways that it feels hard to compare the two, but I'd say it was more fun than anything else.
I just hope the third game follows more to the first, and really amps up Lo Wang as asshole with a heart of gold, Because he paid good money for that.

Storyline is pure nonsense for the most part, very comedy driven. Was it funny? At times.
It's a hack and slash game, you get different kinds of melee and ranged weapons. You can upgrade them and give them elemental attributes, most enemies have some kind of elemental weakness and resistance.
The main story is roughly 8 hours long, there are side activities that you can do beside that. New game plus stacks up pretty much an infinite number of times giving this game some replayability value.

Shadow Warrior 2 pales in comparison to the previous game. Tons of people seem to like it, but I did not like the gameplay shift.
Instead of being a narrative-based linear game like before, it is now a mission/quest-based game focused around loot. Details in areas are randomly generated, which is something I generally dislike in games, and now they're more open-ended with objective locations to find.
After a few hours, I felt bored because it's lifeless. It's just very methodical... automated... repetitive. Nowhere near as interesting as the earlier game.

Pros:
Visually stunning and realistic
Action packed gory combat and gameplay
Lots of melee weapons and guns that feel unique
Fantastic upgrade system in which you can change weapon attributes on the fly
You can unequip or move upgrades around, unlike most games where they are consumables
Good story with oriental setting
Adult slapstick humor
World map where you can select missions and revisit past ones in free roam
You can double jump, climb ledges and dash on the floor or in the air right from the start
Best achievement tracker I've seen in any game, tells you exactly how far you're from getting something
Cons:
There's only 2 minimap options with no option to see the full map
Pitfalls, not a big deal but there's no reason for these to exist other than to get a few cheap deaths
Game is not super optimized and requires quite a good PC to run on high settings
It's a really good game that improves on the first one in every aspect. Get it now!!!

I love the emphasis on mobility and that there are no restrictions about it straight from the get go.
Ironically enough I also like the aspects that others list as negatives - the repetitiveness of it. It's like the ultimate stress relief to me: just load up a map, charge the baddies and shoot/slice at them until they stop moving or explode, without really thinking about it. It's not everybody's cup of tea of fun, but it sure is fun to me.

This game has bad humour just the way I want it.
Tons of weapons and modifications, talents, neon and F I G H T S!
The Shadow Warrior series are, after Doom, the best game series if you ask me. It still feels like the first game back when I was a kid but suddenly looking fantastic!
The enviroments, the enemies.. THE PHOTO MODE is brilliant. I just love everything about this game. Sadly I didn't play the campaign in co-op but it gives the game even more gaming hours as you don't really get tired of playing it -even if some areas/maps can be repetetive. But the fun makes you not really care how they map is. It looks stunning. That's all I wanted!
Completed the game on hard but should have played it on hardest! You don't want to play this game when it's too easy or you will get bored easily.

The combat is pretty good for the most part. You do have a variety of tools and the melee combat feels just as good as the first. I do feel like the guns have some impact, but revolvers and sub machine guns don't feel that great. Though, the impact is lessened due to the looter shooter mechanics of spongy enemies. You do have powers to use and techniques with your melee weapons and you can upgrade your weapons. Though I'm not keen on the gems system as you get way too many of them and just end up not looking at gems much.
The big elephant in the room is the pivot to looter shooter mechanics. Because of this design choice, all my gripes are due to this. The spongy enemies, the unnecessary amount of gems, the constant reuse of maps with every side quest, where there aren't many secrets. While some people might like this, I was honestly looking for a single player FPS with several maps and secrets.
It's not a bad game, perhaps get it on sale, but it's not what I'm looking for.

- Graphics
- Combat
- Loot
- Has multiplayer
What does it do worse?
- Story
- Level structure (too repetitive)
You need to make a decision on what aspects are more important to you.
SW1 is a story-driven linear shooter
SW2 is a grindy looter shooter
To me personally the jump from SW1 to SW2 was too jarring, they feel like two completely different games.
But if you never played the first game this shouldn't be an issue.

If the game had to be summarized in a couple of words, i'd say, nothing you do feels impactful.
The enemies take way too many hits to kill and it takes away from the feeling that you're a bad-ass.
You constantly get showered with loot, but vast majority of it doesn't offer any substantial power upgrade.
Your weapons have 3 gem slots and these gems that you get hundreds of are most of the time things such as +%crit, +%attack speed, +%fire damage. And as you might imagine, those are tremendously boring, especially the +%type damage.
Sure there are some unique gems but they're spread too far apart and often times have a negative effect to them which often makes you wonder if you got any stronger than prior to equipping them.
It would've felt much better if you got 5 gems an hour but all of them provided meaningful upgrades that felt both powerful and unique. As it stands right now you spend 10 minutes after every quest browsing through your inventory comparing gems, which are in the end, totally irrelevant.
The game tries to be a mix of a traditional arcady FPS and a looter shooter, but manages to fail on both fronts.
Which is a shame, because if this was just a linear game like the original, it could've been amazing. Or even if it stayed a looter shooter but at least had mechanics that were much more interesting and deep.
As it stands though, if you want to play a looter shooter, play something else, borderlands or something. If you want a good linear experience stick to the first one or wait for the third one which will hopefully be similar to the first one.
P.S. what's the point of adding sprinting to the game if you're going to let people dash across the map at 5 times the speed with no cooldown?

-too often are you going into your menus to sort through 10-20 potential upgrades for your weapons after a couple big fights. This game takes the borderlands forumla but instead of making it easy to see if something is an upgrade or not you are forced to go through these awkward menus that don't allow any weapon comparisons and require complete memory of the stats you slotted with your weapon
-Instead of lots of different weapons dropping its gems that you slot into your weapon, there are so many different varieties of gems but that is what leads into spending so much time in the menus in missions is almost every elite/boss and even regular enemy drops a gem. It wont say if its better than your current gems and that involves you having to open up a menu to find out
-story is really bad and just references events that happened before, nothing really interesting to note for that.
- in later missions where you are fighting rares and elites around every corner the upgrade system breaks the game by forcing you to constantly look at gems in the menu between fights and it really breaks up the otherwise amazing smooth flow in the game, I hope that in shadow warrior 3 they go back to the roots of no gem upgrades and just focus on building a better world and story.

The GOOD
* The music is amazing! Beautiful ambiance during the slow parts and awesome energetic music during the combat!
* The weapons(guns and melee weapons) are so fun to use! Each one is unique and interesting!
* The dialogue and story is very well written, funny and engaging!
* The level design and graphics are beautiful and fun to explore!
* The movement feels tight and responsive! Dodging, dashing and parrying are well done!
* The powers you get are a fun addition to your arsenal!
* Leveling up, getting skills and finding collectibles give the game more depth!
The Neutral
~ Hitboxes seem a bit off sometimes(example: feels like bullets go through the head when aiming for headshots).
~ Enemy dialogue when in combat can get a bit repetitive.
~ Sometimes enemies see you through walls or buildings
The Ugly/Needs Improvement
- As much as I love the levels/design, would be cool if there were more varied environments!
- More NPC's would help feel certain areas feel more alive
- IT'S A MAG! NOT A CLIP! (Sorry just wanted to be clear!)
In summery, I LOVE this game, it is so much fun and that is the more important this for me! The gameplay is addicting, the music is so beautifully done and fits the tone and setting. Maps are so gorgeous and fun to explore! Wang jokes never cease to crack me up!
I really hope SW3 can take note of this amazing game and do what this game does, but BIGGER, better and WANG-IER!
So get out there, cull the demon infestation, have fun and don't forget your Wang!(Lo Wang)

Before I get into the bad, I will say the game has some pretty satisfying combat. It’s a hack n slash mixed with FPS, and it’s done really well. Your guns can be just as strong as your swords and it’s up to you to decide how you want to play. Whether you decide to run around slicing up everyone, or opt for some typical gunplay, there’s never a dull moment and you don’t feel powerless either way. The weapon upgrades make a drastic difference, so it’s not a waste of time when you take a moment to work out a build and mess with mod combos. Another thing is that we just started the game off on hard right out the bat, and I’d recommend going that route. I think it’d be too boring in normal, hard gave enough of a challenge without being insanely difficult.
It’s a shame honestly because if the rest of the game was as good as the gameplay, this would certainly be a positive review, but alas.
-
•-< • • •
The story feels rushed. You play as the ever hilarious Lo Wang, who somehow ends up in a situation where he yet again gets a voice inside his head that insults and berates him at every turn. On your journey to get rid of your inner demon you somehow end up having to save the world after learning the only good character in the game is actually evil. Mind you, this all is taking place while you’re chasing some giant creature thing to restore a girl’s soul. If it sounds ridiculous, it’s because it is.
Now, on paper, this all probably sounds pretty exciting. The issue is the majority of my playtime came from me doing bounties, trials, and side quests. There aren’t many story missions at all and thus not nearly enough character interaction or plot development. So you’ve got characters who are meant to hold some significance dying and you don’t have any real reason to care because the story was clearly not the focal point. Add that onto the fact that while someone your character supposedly respects is dying in front of you he’s going on an endless immature ramble and it just really doesn’t do anything for the heartstrings. Now it’d be different if your character was funny, so even though you don't care you could at least crack a smile... But he's not funny, at all.
I cannot even begin to describe how absolutely annoying the main character is. It’s almost suffocating how hard they tried to be funny. We get it, he likes dick, but don’t forget he’s straight he just has the humor of an adolescent boy who still thinks farting is funny and cooties exist. It’s that bad. On top of that, someone thought they were so funny when creating his personality that they determined he should endlessly talk all the fucking time. No matter what’s happening. It takes away from any seriousness the game tries to push. Hell, he mentions at one point that his parents died after someone mocks him the way he mocks others, and he gets in his feelings, but you can’t really care. At some point, he did just seem like a wannabe edgelord and an antagonist rather than a protagonist with a good sense of humor. I get where they were going, but it just fails miserably and since his personality is meant to be the selling point of the game, it makes everything all the more painful.
-
•-< • • •
But nothing is nearly as painful as when devs half-ass implement online co-op. Either do It right or don’t do at all. It goes beyond the other player not sharing the story achievements. My buddy and I are used to that, whatever, we don’t care. But when your partner can’t choose story missions, can’t interact with story objectives, and cannot talk to NPCs I begin to wonder why the fuck they’re even there in the first place. Your partner is essentially just there to help you kill things, that’s it. If that sounds like something, you’re fine with, trust me it gets old fast. Imagine the time you could save in bounties if your partner could help you collect at least ONE of the twenty needed items you need. It blows my mind how developers can’t do co-op right! It feels like a last-minute thought, rather than an intended feature. It’s honestly disappointing.
The bugs pissed me off just as much. I won’t even get into the crashing, although there was a decent amount of it over the stupidest of reasons. But the sheer number of bugs blew my mind. For instance, once we learned that there were missable bosses in side quests we made it our mission to run around searching for them. This lead to me accidentally getting into somewhere I wasn’t supposed to, and I say accidentally but to be honest all I did was hop the fence, as the game allowed me, only to complete the quest, come back and realize we’re now trapped in said area because we were supposed to cut a dude’s head off to access it in the first place. Another bug happened that I’ll simply share below because I… there are no words for this.
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2243944431
I just don’t recommend Shadow Warrior 2, unless you love endless dick jokes, plan to play with someone funny enough to make it bearable, have patience and a decent music playlist. I’m generally extremely forgiving with games, and a lot of the time the good will outweigh the bad. But what was good wasn’t showcased nearly enough, and what was bad was in my face constantly. If you must suffer, grab it on sale and enjoy it now that I’ve drastically lowered your expectations.

1) Graphics and presentation
character models are a bit lacking. environments are exceptional, beautiful to look at.
the procedural generation helps keep things fresh. awesome gore effects, especially for bladed weapons.
my only real complain would be the general presentation of the zilla city levels.
the choice of colour results in eye-rape after a while, at least for me.
2) Story
passable, good enough for an FPS game. there were some moments that made me chuckle.
Lo Wangs one liners are incredibly funny when they hit the mark.
All in all, kinda forgettable, but not really why we're all here, right?
3) Gameplay Mechanics
Now we're getting to the meat and potatoes.
Most levels are procedural, meaning each run feels fresh. This is great for replayability.
Gameplay involves getting main missions from a central hub area, and travelling to other maps to complete them.
Side quests are obtained in the same way, but serve as little more than an excuse to continue your career of butchery.
Completing quests etc results in you getting money and exp points, which can be used to purchase weapons, items and skills.
Skills are pretty awesome, and can result in Lo Wang become a sprinting tank with telekinetic powers and a sword.
There are around 50 unique weapons to find, all of which have their own gimmicks.
I really enjoyed experimenting with different weapon combinations, seeing how it affected my style of play.
Boss fights are decent, especially on higher difficulties, and require a good mix of movement, awareness and aim.
4) Combat Mechanics
This is where this game shines.
Your boost dodge is nearly unlimited, which allows for some of the most mental fast paced movement I've experienced in a game. Kinda like Doom Eternal, but faster.
Combine this with your skills, spells and crazy weapons, and you're in for a very fun time indeed.
The game also makes bladed weapons feel like they should - violent forces of nature that leave foes in pieces.
On max difficulty, enemies and bosses become a bit bullet spongey, which can cause some fights against trash mobs to wear out their welcome.
Having said this, the highest difficulty is pretty great for coop.
For single player, I find the 2nd highest difficulty to be a nice mix of challenge and speed.
The game is, after all, about making you feel like an unstoppable ninja killing machine.
In closing:
the looter-shooter mechanics and some gameplay changes between this and the first game may not be to everyones liking, but that shouldnt stop you from giving Shadow Warrior 2 a shot.
Its a hell of a fun game, the combat is F******* spot on, and its even more fun with friends.
9/10 - would most definitely recommend

Gameplay: Better Faster Stronger more gore!
IF you played Shadow Warrior 1(New one) then gameplay will feel the same but in more favore of freedom of jumping, landing speed gaining rushing.
Weapons:Lots of good guns bows rocketlaunhers Swords 2xSwords Axe Clubs Pistoles Miniguns Machineguns .........
Storytelling its good very good not best but stay with me you will enjoy it
Main Charcter same good old Lo Wang from remake Of SW with same good Wang jokes!
Enemy roster is an improvement containing almost(but 1 (not counting bosses(they will be in game but not like you knew them)) enemies but more far more game even adds a ...lopedia(enemy roster wiki)
Down side (PERSONALY i love it but it gives extra edge but...)
The upgrades for guns and upgrades them self will require special currency that is far far to hard to get and not rewarding and to get them grind is to high(fastest way is to replay the campaign oh highest difficulty(if you can handle it) but you will get bored pretty fast you get currencies on hardest difficuly nearly not enough to compensate for the upgrades cost for higher tier and removing negative effects from artifact (you will geat 72 at difficlty something for main campaign quest but upgrade will cost 1000-3000 (get the picture?)) as a completionist i skipped the upgrade whole arsenal bit i very much liked to but it is far unrewarding i would stick in this game longer for sure
If this system would be tuned down a bit like 72 and cost for higher tiers would be 100-300 ( that would be best solution ever)
Other far to many upgrades some times i would like to sell on getting to the vendors lower tier artifacts by auto
My personal score 7.5/10

In the new game, the player takes control of Lo Wang in offline or online matches with up to three other warriors in order to destroy the demonic legions that threaten the security of the world. All of this washed down with many liters of blood, of course. The game is recommended only for adults and bet on exaggerated violence.
To classify Shadow Warrior 2 as an action game is a huge understatement. The title features over 70 different weapons that can be used against the creatures of darkness. From pistols to chainsaws, it's a lot of fun to try each option.
When killing enemies, it is possible to evolve, improve and customize armaments, even assigning elemental properties to them. All of this guarantees even more variety and longevity to the frantic gameplay. Fortunately, running and jumping across maps is as well calibrated and accurate as cutting off the heads and other members of your opponents.
Although the game has a central hub where you can revisit missions and chat to discover new quests, the structure of Shadow Warrior 2's campaign is quite different than expected, especially since much of the journey is generated procedurally.
In other words, apart from some key moments and missions, the layout of terrain, climate, enemies and architecture is totally random, which considerably increases the replay factor and generates unique experiences. Even so, playing long sessions of Shadow Warrior 2 can be tiring due to the exacerbated focus on combat.
Enjoying the main campaign of Shadow Warrior 2 alone is really fun, but the game wins a lot if up to four friends participate in the missions at the same time. Working as a team and devising strategies to flank giant demons is the best the game has to offer.
As with every aspect of the title, the focus of the multiplayer mode also lies in direct, immediate and uncomplicated action, with no room for bigger frills or even hero customizations. Instead of selecting different characters, each player sees his avatar in the shape of Lo Wang, projecting the image of generic companions to the other allies.
Conclusion
Shadow Warrior 2 is an excellent choice for players looking for horsepower doses of adrenaline. Exciting, the game offers a huge variety of weapons that fit perfectly with the controls. The presence of procedurally generated levels helps to further increase the replay factor both online and offline, but the excessive focus on action can be tiring in the long run. Still, it is a great option for those looking for the best way to draw liters of blood from the veins of hellish creatures.

Atrocious writing and humour that is painful to listen to.
Wang for example is just a heavily exaggerated version of his past self, making unfunny comments every chance he has regardless of the situation.
The combat is unsatisfying and the missions lack any value, weight or importance.
I played this with 3 of my friends, (1 of which never even played 2013) and we all felt this same way.
We all stopped playing I'd say about half way in, as none of us were at any point having a good time.

Shadow Warrior 2
The third game in the Shadow Warrior franchise. A first-person shooter video game developed by Poland-based indie development studio Flying Wild Hog and published by Devolver Digital. It is the sequel to the 2013 reboot of Shadow Warrior. Shadow Warrior 2 was released on October 13, 2016, for Microsoft Windows and on May 19 the following year for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
Story
Lo Wang. ( the main protagonist and player-controlled character in Shadow Warrior 2 )
An assassin by profession who works as a mercenary.
After the events of the previous game Shadow Warrior 2013 , Lo Wang gets a task from Yakuza to retrieve an ancient trinket.
Mamushi, the second in command of Yakuza, gets a new task to rescue Kamiko, Yakuza's leader's daughter from Zilla's labs. Lo Wang upon reaching Zilla's labs, finds Kamiko tied to a table with Kyokagami Twins inside the room and Zilla watching her through a monitor. Wang reaches Kamiko and brings her to Smith. Smith decides to transfer Kamiko's soul into Wang's body until he figures how to heal her body. Lo Wang then retrieves the ingredients needed to make the cure for Smith.
Mamushi Helka tasks Lo Wang with finding the source of black ooze that is spreading in the wildlands. She gives Wang the coordinates to the location of the supposed source. The source for the black ooze turns out to be the Outer Gates with Mezu's armor holding them locked. Wang finds Mezu still guarding the gates as before. Wang is then contacted by Master Smith asking him to go back to the mountain as ZillaCorps have attacked it.
Wang reaches Smith who was gravely injured during the battle, he reveals that he has finished the cure. In his last dying moments, Smith puts his soul in a Soul Well. As Wang goes to administer the cure to Kamiko's body, the body attacks him being now horribly mutated. After a tough fight, the corrupted body escapes.
Ameonna contacts him and urges Wang to meet her in Shadow Hills. When Wang meets Ameonna he asks her to reverse the soul binding, but first must retrieve Kamiko's body and return it to its original form. In order to perform soul joining, ritual Ameonna needs Ancestral Chi, which can be found in a weapon that belonged to Kamiko's father. Kamiko reveals that Mamushi Helka carries around a wakizashi given by her father. With this information, Wang seeks out Mamushi. After a brief talk, Mamushi takes her own life and Wang brings the ceremonial dagger to Ameonna.

Even the gameplay is plain and not interesting. You can simply dash your way to the objective see that it requires a pass card, dash your way to the card, then back, kill a big guy, mission completed.
The fist Shadow Warrior was ok but this one is doggie poo poo.

- Funny dialogue and hilarious characters
- Bullet spongey enemies you'll be peashooting for days
- Enemies will be poppin' outta your ass while you're dodging of bulletspongies
- You will be getting stuck on geometry a lot while avoiding hordes of enemies
- Weapons have a 'miss' stat so you can miss a perfectly lined up shot
- Weapons feel weak and flimsy due to bulletsponginess and the 'miss'
- You need to double/triple click selected dialogue options
- is this good? is this bad?
- its a mess, a fun mess, but a mess nonetheless

Lets start with the combat mechanics, you have 2 main types of weapon to choose from, these include melee weapons (which is where Shadow Warrior 2 sets itself apart from most FPS, because you can run the whole game on the hardest difficulty AND crush endgame content using only melee weapons) and ranged weapons (which includes a variety of hard hitting weapons of different rarities, with each weapon you find getting progressively rarer and more unique as you progress through the campaign). There's also a ton of weapon variety in this game, each with their own strengths and weaknesses, another thing I'd like to add is that every weapon in this game is viable even in the endgame on the harder difficulties due to the upgrade system which I'll cover later in the review. In combat, you'll also have the ability to double jump and dash in any direction allowing you to dodge most attacks headed your way. This allows Shadow Warrior 2 to adapt a combat system similar to the fast paced DOOM series, where you weave and dodge through the battlefield as you mow down legions of demons and other enemies. Later in the game you'll also gain the Fury mechanics which basically lets you go on a rampage, dealing more damage and resistance, as well as slowing down enemies that gets tougher as you progress through the main campaign.
Speaking of which, the enemies in this game are plentiful and varied, each with their own set of attacks and gimmicks that you'll need to learn if you want to effectively deal with them. The game also have 4 different elements that may be associated with the enemies you encounter in this game, adding another layer to the depth of combat and basically encouraging you to change between different elements on your weapons in order to be able to defeat them. Their designs are also pretty unique, and you can view them over at you Wanglopedia after you've defeated one of them.
A major asset to the game and part of why it is also very fun is its loot and upgrade mechanics. Through this mechanic, enemies and shops may provide you with upgrades of different types and rarities, each with their own set of stat-altering properties that allows you to customize your weapons on how they behave (weapon damage, critical chance, lifesteal, infused elements, reload speed, elemental damage, ammo type, etc.). This gives a major customization option to the players and allows all guns you encounter in this game to be viable throughout the campaign and endgame content. You'll also be able to get skill points which you get by leveling up and spend them on skill cards that can also drop from enemies, chests, or come as mission rewards, these skills are varied in effect and allows you to shape your character as you progress through the campaign. You can also recycle any unwanted upgrades that you come across in the game and combine to craft a better one, at the cost of money.
The campaign in this game is also pretty lengthy, clocking in at about 12 hours if you rush through the main missions or 24 hours if you try to complete all the bounty and side missions, as well as the way of the Wang challenges. Not to mention that due to the loot and upgrade mechanics, you can start a new game plus where you get to keep all the gear you've obtained and continue progressing you character while also trying harder difficulties that offer better loot, exp gain, as well as resources to upgrade your weapons. Though the main story is meh and can be pretty confusing if you didn't play the first Shadow Warrior, the characters and the interaction they have with each other are entertaining enough to propel you through the main campaign.
However, there are a few things that may drag down the whole experience of Shadow Warrior 2. For starters, I've encountered numerous bugs like jumping inside objects in the map and getting stuck in places, few of which I've been able to get out of, which forces me to reload the game. FPS drops also frequently occur, especially if the map is clogged with enemies and you enter your Fury mode. Options for inventory management is also lacking and can get cluttered, this may leave you annoyed if you happen to have thousands of low tier upgrades that you want to add to the junk inventory to sell. Throughout the endgame content you'll also notice that the Zilyen (the main currency of the game) eventually becomes useless, I wish there were more ways to use Zilyen other than the stores and the forge.
Overall, for a game that was released a couple of years ago, Shadow Warrior 2 was a pleasant surprise for me and helped me spend my week during these hard times. For what it's worth; Shadow Warrior 2 is definitely a must buy if you haven't played it yet.

Who wants some
Completionist here that collected and did every single thing in this game, so long story short the game has some flaws but is still amazing.
Ok so the problematic things:
The game uses some wird jigsaw puzzle type of map creation it has like 10 pieces for every map and randomly combines 5 pieces before you enter to give you a map for that run. So this creates problems starting from clipping in weird places and textures to holes in the ground and places to get stuck.
When you try to collect 50 secret statues for the achievement it's a pain in the d**k because you need to respawn the map over and over and over...... till you get the correct jigsaw map puzzle to be able to pick them up.
Good things:
The combat is f***ing amazing it's fast fluid responsive and gory. Huge amount of melee and range weapons that make you feel like a god and you are able to rip and tear( it feels like a low buget doom 2016).
Wang makes trollish jokes constantly and fu***s with everyone, he is a huge as**ole that doesn't give a f**k and I love it. Great music.
The story was ok nothing special.
All in all nice little package 10-20h of fun, 40h+ if you are a completionist like me.
BTW f@k the way of masamune and ancient chinese secrets achievements!!!

From a classic arcade shooter, the series has morphed into a surreal, tongue-in-cheek but fluid action RPG/looter-shooter with gameplay elements and loot mechanics similar to those you expect to find in the Borderlands series and Warframe, for example. Characters and weapons are vastly customizable, and there's lots of loot and secrets to explore. Whether you play this with melee, guns, magic, or some combination, on either multiplayer or single-player, this has something for everyone.

Well, this sequel makes me want to complain many things. I just a bit, you know, low budget. It's clingy. I dont what is the right word, but the game itself is okay to buy for a low price and play through the end. I can say that if you like the mechanic and story, you will enjoy. If you dont, you could just suddenly shut you brain down(I had sleep while playing this game, it's that boring lmao. I never died in combat too, so I'm not a noob stfu.) I would rate 6.5/10

Awesome meele combat system. It just makes so much fun slashing your way through demons in a blood parade.
Gore.
Story, well I liked it. It fits perfect with a game with this type of humor and I wouldn't expect more.
More Gore.
The humor is hilarious, I just love it!
I mostly died because I couldn't stop laughing at times.
Gore again.
I just wish there would be more to do, to keep you busy after you complete the Story except just pushing your character to god-like levels (which is on the one side nice but on the other it starts to feel repetitive).
All the fun doubles when playing with friends!

The shooting feels great, weapons are a lot of fun and tons of cool graphical effects and sound make everything very satisfying. With all the chaos going on the game engine handles it really well and it's impressive to watch.
The open world design this time around isn't as bad as some say either.
The only things I wish they would change would be that mission markers are shown in game, but the *route* to get there is displayed only on the mini map, so I found myself constantly taking my eyes off the in game world checking the mini map to show the route I needed to take. Same thing with ammo chests too- displayed on the mini map only with no marker or indicators in the actual game. It would be cool if they implementated optional arrows on the ground like Bioshock and Perfect Dark Zero did and have chests glow in the game world too.
And all the gems you can get to socket into weapons are way too many, and the fact a lot of them have both positive and negative aspects was kind of a bummer. However these can be remedied by completing trials, but to me it felt like an extra step to pad things out, they dragged on too long and are really tough.
The story's allright, voice acting is good, Wang has some funny lines as usual, the weapons feel and sound great, and I did most of the optional side missions too which were fun. Plus, after you beat the game you get a new game+ which carries over all your weapons, skills and money too which is cool to tackle the higher difficulties if you wish. If you liked the first game like I did you'll most likely enjoy this one too.

Doom 2016 meets Borderlands... And it's better than both.
Yeah, I said it. After having played Doom 2016, after having invested time in hunting for loot in the Borderlands series, including three, I will say it. Shadow Warrior 2 is a masterpiece. I never expected to put as much time into this game as I have, writing this review at 23 hours in game and just starting my second play through. Is the story good? It's serviceable. Memorable characters? Kinda. So what's so great about this game? What matters most. The gameplay, and the sheer amount of customization on offer. Shadow Warrior 2 is a harmonious balance of what makes those two games so great, and it stands beyond them for it.
First off, why do I like this game better than Doom 2016? The fluidity, the movement, the customization options and the art style. Doom Eternal isn't out yet, but the movement style of it looks similar to what you find in this game. Air dashing, dodging, climbing ledges, and no stamina bar to slow you down. You can dash and dodge around to your heart's content like an absolute maniac, circling around your enemies while hacking at them with blades, firing missiles, or unloading a shotgun into them. You can hop from building to building, ledge to ledge, dropping down onto your enemies in a sick drop roll to the ground. It's satisfying to charge up your sword slash, letting an enemy barrel into you only to suddenly dodge out of the way, and slice them down as they run right past you. The power trip this game gives you is off the charts.
While individual settings and layouts are rather forgettable compared to Borderlands, the art style is absolutely jaw dropping. A mix of oriental style architecture with doses of neon and cyber cityscapes give a lot of diversity. From small villages, to temples, to high rises, you get a little bit of everything. Coupled with some awesome asian inspired soundtracks mixed with guitars and rock beats, the music elevates the gameplay that much more.
So where's the comparison to Borderlands? Well, this game supports a leveling skill system, and randomly generated loot. Not in the form of weapons, but in weapon power ups, armor upgrades, co-op upgrades as well as medallions that give very unique powers and character changes. Borderlands has way more weapons than this game, yes. But that's where it suffers as well. Many weapons in Borderlands feel useless, or interchangeable. Shadow Warrior 2, like Doom 2016, has a set number of weapons. However, unlike Doom 2016, this game has over 70 different weapons, and all of them can be modified to function differently and add different effects.
Every weapon feels useful, every gun feels heavy and powerful, every blade feels swift and responsive. And with the games power up system, you can have limitless possibilities of how you want your weapons to function. Want a triple barreled shotgun that fires all three rounds at once, or maybe instead you want to individually charge each round to amplify the damage? Sure. Want to dual wield machine guns with incendiary rounds, or maybe have just one machine gun that pierces through enemies? Do it. Want an acid spitting chainsaw, or a sword that launches energy waves at your foes? Maybe you want your weapons to instead recharge your health as you do damage, or maybe you want to make a weapon used solely for doing crap tons of damage to elite and superior enemies? You can have it.
What about the story? Like I said, serviceable. You play as Lo-Wang, an assassin for hire who was asked to rescue a girl named Kamiko. You sort of fail at that. Her body is corrupted during an experiment, and before she can end up losing her soul to dark energy, that soul is instead implanted into your mind to save it. So now you're running around trying to find her body, a now rampaging demon while this girl's mind trapped in yours is nagging and berating Lo-Wang for basically being, himself.
Lo-Wang as a character was actually kind of fun. He's, well. A prick. To everyone. He cracks insults, makes dirty jokes, and isn't afraid to give it to you straight. He never takes anything seriously, and everyone around him hates him for it. But he's not an idiot, either. He knows what's going on around him, he acknowledges when he makes mistakes, and aside from killing everyone and everything in his way, he actually has a decent moral compass.
In conclusion. Do I recommend this game? Hell yes. I haven't even talked about everything you can do, haven't even talked about the skill cards or the powers you can use in game. This game is jam packed with features, and it would be much longer if I talked about everything this game has to offer. Do you love Doom 2016? Buy this game. Do you love Borderlands? Buy this game. Do you love melee combat? Buy this game. Do you like having fun? BUY. THIS. GAME.
