Allgemeines

Bei Runner Heroes handelt es sich um ein runner game mit ein paar Eigenheiten die das Spiel doch recht einzigartig machen.

Steuerung

Man Steuert in diesem Spiel 2 Charaktere gleichzeitig. Die komplette Steuerung ist mit 2 tasten möglich, so zb auf dem Controller indem man mit der rechts Taste die Helden zusammeschiebt, durch loslassend er rechts Taste gehen die Helden wieder auseinander und mit der A Taste springt man.

Leveldesign

Die Level sind schön und umfangreich strukturiert, Einige schöne Animationen und Events werten das ganze gut auf und jedes Level unterscheidet sich sichtbar von den anderen.

Gameplay

Das Gameplay ist umfangreich, trotz der simplen Steuerung hat man heir viele verschiedene Dinge die man machen kann wie tauchen, rennen, Grubenwagenfahrt und innerhalb dieser Dinge nochmals Objekten ausweichen, überspringen, Magie aufladen, Objekte sammeln usw.... Das ganze ist anfangs recht schön aber leider teils sehr schlecht ausgeführt.

Probleme

So muss man manchmal durch verschlossene Türen springen wobei man manchmal stirbt und manchmal durch kommt und selbstd danach nicht weiß warum. manchmal ist die Kamera so schlecht positioniert das eine Wand vor dem Blickfeld ist und man Dingen ausweichen muss ohne sie zu sehen (Try and Error). Oftmals reagiert leider auch ein Event nicht, so das eine Türe trotz Schlüssel nicht auf geht oder benötigte Magieladungen auf dem Boden nur aufblinken und bereits bevor man sie sammeln kann wieder verschwinden so das man eine benötigte Magie nicht triggern kann. Des öfteren haben CHeckpoints nicht fuinktioniert, Der Held rannte hindurch, daraufhin ist man bei 90% des Levels gestorben aber musste ganz am Anfang wieder beginnen......

- Viele Bugs die einem das Spielen trotz perfektem Timings oftmals versauen
- Grafiken oftmals schwammig
- Kamera misserabel (bewegt sich dauernd in schlechten Winkeln die die Übersicht teils total versauen oder Fallen,Objekte,... nicht sichtbar machen.

Fazit

Ein Spiel mit vielen guten Ideen das jedoch durch viele Bugs auffällt. Innerhalb der ersten ca. Stunde Spielzeit hatte ich ca 10 x Probleme das Events nicht getriggert wurden, In 3 Leveln das Problem das ich per Try and Error versuchen musste etwas unsichtbarem auszuweichen da die Kameraposition mies war und mehrere Punkte im Spiel an denen ich durch Wände oder verschlossene Türen springen musste ohne zu wissen was genau nötig ist um hier zu überleben. Desweiteren hatte ich 4 x das Problem das Checkpoints nicht gezählt wurden und 2 x das Problem das ich nach meinem Tod nicht zum Checkpoint zurückgesetzt wurde sondern nach vorne geschoben an einen Ort den ich nicht kannte.
Das Spiel selbst gefällt mir im Prinzip aber diese Fehler machen es eine Qual zum Spielen und der Preis ist meineserachtens leider sowahl für das Spiel selbst als auch die Qualität deutlich zu hoch.

Good graphics + mechanics - poorly optimized = Avoid obstacles as you try to run to the end of each level. New mechanics are added as you advance. The poor optimization makes it difficult to enjoy.

Welcome to the newest Runner of 2020. A fresh take on the genre awaits you with mega platforming action! Our heroes, Lyssa and Colwyn, have been trapped in opposite times of day; Lyssa trapped in the darkness of night, while Colwyn is trapped in the light of day. You will be controlling both characters (unless you play in co-op) in a world divided in half by night and day, and the two characters will have to work together to beat the Red Witch and return the kingdoms back to the people. The Red Witch’s army is strong, and the world is full of pitfalls, traps, and danger; it will not be an easy journey defeating her. You will have some abilities to help in your adventure (in addition to your ability to move out or in on the playing field): Jumping, Dash and the use of Magic to help to balance your struggle with the Red Witch. Released Jan 3, 2020, by the Developer IKIGAI Play & Self-published, its tagged Indie, Action, Adventure, Platformer, Runner. I have not added any additional tags, as the gameplay has everything from Casual to Hardcore play in place, so I cannot tag it as either. Players of any skill level can enjoy the title. It features a fabulous graphic design, a beautiful soundtrack, and an intriguing set of mechanics. There are also three difficulty settings from Casual to Hardcore. With 5 kingdoms through 47 levels of platforming fun that utilize a variety of game modes on your journey. A fascinating story to unfold as you play. A cinematic camera system, unlike anything I have played before. With local co-op & Steam Remote Play the title gives you many ways to play. And let us not forget full controller support (I preferred using the controller).

Quite an interesting play; I started my game-play in single-player mode to get a feel for the title, and after a couple of hours I decided to test the co-op feature of the title. My Mrs joined me for this adventure and I must admit that I thought co-op would be easier than single-player, but I was mistaken; it was a little more challenging with two-player control. We still had a blast with our playtime! I have returned to the single-player now to continue my journey, as my Mrs does get a bit frustrated at parkour. Although I was a bit intimidated by the thought of controlling two characters at once, it was not nearly as hard as I thought it would be, and I found that I rather enjoying myself, even during my fails. Yeah, I said a few cuss words during my game time, and I also had a lot of laughing my butt off! Learn from your mistakes and conquer the Red Witch; the time is at hand for you to decide if you are up to the challenge.

Achievement Hunters will want to note that the game has some difficult achievements that will not be easy to 100%. There are 50 hidden achievements, you can see them listed while in-game under the diary tab. Why they are hidden in Steam I find a little unusual.

If you wanna test your mind, vision and concentration...THIS IS THE GAME! Played for 3 and a half hours straight just to get past the next stage! Game is fun, challenging and looks amazing! Definitely give a try!!

I liked it a lot! It's a complex runner with very original elements that you don't see in other games of this type, innovative, with a very interesting history. At the beginning it appears very difficult but in the end you can't stop playing!

14GB download seems like a lot.
The game is a pretty ok runner with a lot of cutscened story in between gameplay.
You are controlling two different characters but really there is just one set of controls.
The price of admission is too high but if you want a slightly underwhelming runner, interspersed with some well-drawn cutscenes, this might be the game for you.
