Rise of the Argonauts hat ein Interessantes Level System.
Doch was bleibt uns dann noch?
Nicht genug um diesem Spiel seine Zeit zu widmen.

All in, certainly worth a play through but note no achievements and once through I can't really see anyone going back though it again....

The dialogue is old-fashioned and very fitting with some meta-breaking moments that might make you laugh. The most memorable moment is when you have to hold a debate against a philosopher.
The biggest weakness this game has is that it is a bad port. I was one of the more lucky players who only experienced two crashes during my playthrough, while the game would crash much more often for others. Fortunately, the checkpoint system makes sure that you don't lose much playtime. Also, there are hardly any video and controls settings.

And I must say, it was worth it. I was slightly disappointed though. The game was worth than I remembered it (as so often). But honestly, it is still playable.
The story is fine. The graphics aren’t the best, but they are totally okay, keeping in mind that the game was released in 2008. The dialogues, nevertheless, often have a horrible sound.
The gameplay is rather simple. Hack and slash your way through all the enemies and enjoy the story telling. There isn’t much to say and the mechanics are pretty basic and simple.
Rise of the Argonauts is a nice game to play after a long and hard day. Just chill, slash enemies and enjoy a nice story. No brain activity needed.

Graphics are obviously out of date but even for the time of release subpar. Sometimes it looks quite nice; sometimes horrible.
Game mechanics are ok but nothing special.
And a WARNING: the game crashes. Like, a lot. There are a few workarounds posted on the interwebs but none worked for me. Luckily the game autosaves pretty often and if you rename the intro videos you can continue without too much hassle.
If you're into the setting and like story driven, casual action rpgs you might wann give this one a go when its on sale.

> Basic but Satisfying Combat
> Unique art-style
> Cozy, somewhat dated, yet atmospheric visuals.
> Beautiful Soundtrack by Tyler Bates (Composer of the movie 300)
> Surprisingly awesome sound-direction. Very lively environmental sound effects.
> Good main-story
> Great side-stories (Still part of the main story)
> Decent voice acting that gets better over time.
> Innovative Skill Tree System (Deeds you do can be dedicated to different gods to unlock points for their unique skill-trees.)
> Good dialogue system (Like Mass-effect.)
Cons
> Multiple Crashes and Bugs (Save alot.)
> Very appalling intro, would drive alot of people away.
> Painful voice acting in the early parts.
> Very linear, with only the illusion of open-endedness
> Illusion of Choices, but only a few actually affect things.
> Enemies are way too spread out, and cannot be grinded for additional points.
> Boss fights are fun, but very easy even in Legend Difficulty.
> Very abrupt ending, conclusive, yet unsatisfying.
> No replayability or New Game Plus.
Thoughts: This game has one of the worst introductions ever; it starts with a dodgy badly animated cutscene with crappy voice acting. But believe me, it actually gets better as mid-game, the story just simply becomes alot more interesting and voice actors actually start being pretty decent. The gameplay is a barebone Hack'N'Slash, but it mostly consists of just talking to be people and running here and there to progress. One the game gets right, is its artistic beautiful visuals, the really immersive sound direction and soundtrack. This is a game for patient gamers, and has great story with a very mediocre ending. (Like most stories)
So if you're gonna buy it, I suggest getting it on sale. It's got around 27 hours worth of strolling around Greece while partaking in Greek mythological Events revolving around Jason & The Argonaut's quest for the Golden Fleece.

This game has a special place in my heart because it was one of the first PC games I got, and it may sway me to a positive light when reviewing this game. Plus, after 16 hours of gameplay, I realised that I had fun but there were some cons in this game that may stop you from buying this game.
So, with that in mind, here are my pros and cons:
Pros:
.Great world concept: Loved how deeply involved is the Greek mythology around the various parts of the game.
.Interesting side characters: While far from perfect, the companions that work with you along the game are quite interesting.
Cons:
.Passable story at best: The main narrative is a bit cliché but the big problem is how some concepts of the story seem to be copy pasted thru the length of the game.
.Clunky combat: It comes down to how old this game is. While you can make it work, some combos are quite awkward to pull off.
.Weird save system: I’ve noticed that sometimes my save file it’s not bound to the place I saved but, instead, to the last checkpoint I went thru. However, I can’t confirm this with 100% confidence, just beware.
TL:DR I liked this game but I would recommend you checked some gameplay before you decide to buy it. I say this because it could save you some money for another game in case you don’t like it. Have fun.

Short story...Only been to 5 maps...relatively small map...
not item or inventroy...
not much or RPG element...
not weapon customisation...
Just straight forward games,.weapon will be given to you as you progress..
All acceptable...except...
Keyboard Control...its a total nightmare...
Sometime stuck at place and keys not working...
worst part of all.....forget about god powers...
you will have no chance to use them..
key assigned to them are simple....just key 1,2,3 and 4
but not many how many time or how hard or how long i press...you can hardly perform the god power...
yes..i do assigned them...and yes i do charge it fully...
overall...ok games...
just to past sometime,...but will be annoyed by the key malfunction...

The art style is horribly ugly and generic, the story starts off in a disgustingly cliched and uncreative way, the animations are very awkward, the level design consists of extremely basic, huge square rooms with a few props thrown around the corners in a desperate attempt to make them look less embarrassing. The combat system is generic, janky and unenjoyable. Hit detection is out of whack and the game overuses slow mo cam on every kill, completely destroying the pace of battles.
I could go on but I feel that's enough reasons for no one to ever touch this game. I assume the devs were just trying to cash in on God of War popularity and the fact that it was a Playstation exclusive.
People rating this game 7/10 I can only imagine have never sideways glanced at another videogame in their lives.

The combat is a little janky. The graphics look a bit dated (though certain characters still look very good. Herakles and Atalanta's design I especially like). But it's the story I remember most fondly. The dialogue is excellent and everyone you meet is very well characterised, from peasants on the street to barbarians and mythical heroes. For some the sheer amount of talking may be a turn-off. The game is more of an adventure than a hack and slash. Fights are fairly few and far between, but are satisfying enough when they do show up. The battles never feel quite as natural as I think the devs wanted them to be. They tend to come off as small arena fights than a natural engagement with some dudes you meet in the wilderness.
The game's strengths are in its dialogue and voice acting. It's worth a play when the game is very cheap on sale just to enjoy a decent little adventure, even if the plot deviates heavily from the original material. This is a fantasy ancient Greece - but I'm not complaining. This is a decent romp. Of particular note is the Mycenaean chapter of the game. It's a blast.

BUT!! The greatest thing about this game is that you can see it trying. For literally every one of its countless shortcomings I can see two great things, where people really tried hard to make a unique experience come true. I love that they are trying to go their own way with the story. The characters are likeable and memorable. The enemies and tunnel levels are a shame, but the mythological aspects and references are fantastic, the settings all intriguing.
The most important thing about every game is: Did I enjoy playing this? And yes, I enjoyed playing this, I enjoyed it in 2008 when I had to ask my father to buy it for me for christmas, and I enjoyed presenting it to other people in my stream 10 years later. And I probably will enjoy it again sometimes looking back at it with fond memories. This is what gaming should be like, for all its failures, it created good experiences and fun times.

After a decent intro, the game launches into a long and windy hard to navigate area with tons of talking and no action or puzzles. The story's kind of hackneyed and stereotypical, and Jason's honestly not a really interesting protagonist. I wandered around hallways listening to tons of random uninteresting conversations and then talked to a seemingly endless parade of ho-hum NPC's with uninteresting things to say.
It's kind of like a really boring version of mass effect with 3rd person melee combat (and mediocre combat at that) and a lot worse UI and quests that are much worse. It was pure agony trying to struggle through it, I don't recommend this, not unless it's on sale. Graphics and animations haven't aged well either.
