Ricochet is a masterpiece of innovative multiplayer gameplay. It's only one dollar, just get it and play with the large number of people that make up the Ricochet community. If there's no one on the servers, just play with the bots. Just try it for yourself and learn why Ricochet was the tech demo for the gold source engine.

I must say it has very simple and unique gameplay. Although unlike the other games on Half-Life engine it didn't get the community support like the other ones.
This being said I would definitely recommend people pick this game up and try it and gather a couple friends.

Unfortunately Ricochet is a mostly dead game now with minimal people ever online to get matchmaking working so I unfortunately cannot recommend this game to anyone.

However, I will say that when Ricochet was at its peak it was one of the wackiest multiplayer games ever and was an absolute blast. Hopefully one day Valve will release a Ricochet 2 but unfortunately in 2021 this game is not worth playing.

No one plays this game. There is not a single lobby with people, which is a shame cuz the game is actually pretty fun. It's not worth it by itself, but the Valve Complete Pack it comes in is pretty good when you get it on discount, so just hide this game when you get that.

I'm surprised by how underrated this game is. This game is perfect in almost every way. The gameplay is solid, the graphics are good, and there's enough content for the price. This game is a masterpiece, and it deserves it's recognition. Although it hasn't received much attention in years, I can't wait for Valve to finally release Ricochet 2. I would recommend this to any PC gamer that enjoys online games.

Anyone who overlooks Ricochet is dead wrong and should be thrown in jail. Ricochet is TRULY the best game I've ever played. It was well deserving of its hundreds of Game of the Year awards in 2000. What is the best Valve game? Some may say Half-Life 1 or 2, some may say Portal, some esports nerds might even say DOTA 2. But anyone with an IQ above 50 will say Ricochet. This game is so beautiful, I cry with the force of Niagara Falls upon opening it. It's beautiful graphics will never stop blowing my mind. The gameplay is something I truly never get tired of. This game makes Mario 64 and Halo look like ET and Shaq Fu. Its amazing sound design makes Beethoven sound like mumble rap. I would marry Ricochet in a heartbeat, if given the chance. I sold all of my consoles and games so I could solely focus on Ricochet. This game’s logo is painted all over my house and car, and tattooed all over my body. When my boss at McDonald’s asked me why I was skipping work, I told him I was too busy playing Ricochet. He ended up firing me on the spot, so I decapitated him with a Big Mac, just like the characters in Ricochet. My children (all named Ricochet) do not eat, drink, or sleep. They just play Ricochet, and that’s all they need. I haven’t slept since I first played Ricochet. This game is all I care about now, and if you insult it, you’re insulting me too. If you dare slander Ricochet to my face, I won’t hesitate to decapitate you. Hell will welcome all who hate Ricochet. Ricochet is my mind, body, and soul. My house is built entirely out of old Ricochet disks I found on eBay. When this game’s servers shut down, I will jump into the Grand Canyon while screaming it’s name. All hail Ricochet.

This game is an underrated classic that is not just good for nostalgia value, it is arguably the most slept on game of the early 2000's. The world was not ready for the glory of the ricochet arena. this game is high stakes and it is timeless. Beautiful. A work of art. Watching expert disc bouncers on the stage is like poetry.

Possibly the greatest game of all time. Truly a misunderstood masterpiece that will surely be written into the history books as a revolutionary, innovative, ingenious, and above all else, utterly enjoyable experience. At the time of this review, the game's community can best be described as 'dead.' And although the servers are seldom filled with even a single player or bot, I shall forever be awaiting the day this franchise makes its ceremonious return into the spotlight as the bastion of gaming it deserves to be. I can only pray that this day comes within my lifetime - and even if it doesn't - that future generations have the capacity to appreciate it to the furthest extent possible. Alas, I must confess, this game may never receive its well-deserved second wind, and if that truly is the case, then perhaps humanity never deserved a game such as Ricochet in the first place.

I love this game, I have had it for around a week and its been the best week of my life for a long time. This game reminds me of fortnite when it first came out a fun rewarding experience, the game does have its ups and downs example how team games are almost an RNG type of thing because it all up to your team if all of your team doesnt work together and play well then you will lose, another problem would be how the servers are handled the game crashes daily and the servers crash as well but they didnt expect this many people so you cant really blame them. Another problem are hackers if you ever play late at night it will be hackers left and right and centre. But even with all these problems this game is a master piece its the best feeling when you win a game and instead of just going on with your day you get rewarded with a bunch of xp and even a special crown that cannot be bought with real life money showing your skill and how good you are, some of the game modes are even better example would be how hex a gone is like a TNT rush but in fall guys but with more chances to play risky and more chances to try new things because of how many layers there are, the amount of things you can learn from losing in hex a gone or any game for that matter is incredible and the game thrives from this. The biggest problem I have with this game is the price, i know many people who dont want to buy this just due to the price being so much for a game you might play for a week or more and then never return to in till theres a new season or update if the game was maybe single digits then it would be good buy double digits arent the best choice. Overall this game is amazing and i would recommend buying if you have some cash and time laying around.

I never played this game when it came out, but it must have been very cool, saddly servers are dead, and if you don't have firends you won't be able to have a good time on this game, i see people that has more than hundred hours on this game but they even have more than 10 years on Steam, so i can tell, the game is so cool, by the time it came out, but nowadays, it isn't as cool as before, so i rate the game a 9/10 but i don't recommend the game, don't buy it unless you have friends that want to play it also.

This game changed my life. Thanks to this game I did not commit suicide. Best game in the world. No other game is this good. I have played millions of games and this game is just simply the best one. No matter how good you are at any game this game takes more skill. You cannot be happy unless you play this game constantly. The only way I was able to save my daughter from getting kidnapped was by showing the kidnapper this game. He took up this game and is currently a pro Ricochet player. I will soon be a pro as well. After a few more years of practice I will be good enough to be pro. Everyone should get this game because it is so good and nobody can ever enjoy themselves unless they play this game.

POV: You bought the Valve Complete Pack
Jokes aside, this is basically the reason why most people own this game in recent time, then there are some people who played a lot..
Anyway, should you buy it? Not unless it's on a sale, you have people to play it with, or you buy the Valve Pack, there is literally no other reason, the servers are empty, and there is most likely a total of 10 or so servers. The game itself is quite nice, you throw shiny frisbees at other people while getting yeeted by some glowing dorito triangle pad.
All in all dead game with some nice mechanics. 8/10

Ricochet - R.I.P

Ricochet seems like a great game with a very interesting, entertaining take on multiplayer games but sadly it has been lost in time and died. I know there is very, very, VERY few people that play LAN games or create servers rarely to play but all the times I've tried I've had no luck. Unless you've got it in the Valve bundle like me or are going to buy it for many friends too, don't buy this game. You won't get anything out of it other than the right to say I own Ricochet on Steam. But at that point you might as well globally announce your still a virgin.

To conclude you'll probably be wasting your money although it seems like a great concept.

Does anyone feel like if ricochet was released today, it would be a huge hit? Like, jesus christ if a stupid game such as Fall Guys and Among Us can become a huge hit, then this certainly can!

If anything you would add some battle royale 1 life thing to it to make the little kids like it and then add skins so the sweaty 12 year olds would buy them and make sure some of them are some sort of hot girl so the even more sweaty 14 year olds jack off to them and then make it so there is some $1,000,000 competition on ricochet so that streamers would drink 50,000 cans of redbull to play ricochet and once they win they have been crowned king of ricochet.

Ricochet is a good game and its 2:03 am and I got school tomorrow

Quite possibly one of the greatest feats of human creation. I truly believe that this game was sent to us by a higher power through the great apostle Gabriel Newell. If you have any sense of self worth you should buy this Game. 11/10

please please give this game a shot. its incredibly unique and so fun to play with friends. its accessible and cheap.
its just a shame Valve doesn't care or even recognize this title, it didnt even got a source port. it had so much potential and it makes me sad but >Valve i guess.
well just give this game a try if you have it in your library laying around or when a sale comes, it gets incredibly cheap and it has a ton of value.

This. This game is the definition of a masterpiece. Released in 2000 by Valve Corporation as an official modification for their obscure game Half-Life from 1998, this game stood out from the rest due to its marvelous execution, perfect gameplay, among other factors. First of all, the presentation. It's an ambigous, futuristic space-like ambient that fits like a glove to not only the game, but the time it came out. When starting, you listen to some beautiful sound effects and you see multiple men, dressed in colors and metal armors, with a visionary concept of how clothing would be in the future, shooting at each other with laser-like discs. Right from the beginning, you realize how masterfully crafted and polished the game is. The gameplay also enters in this category of perfection. The player smoothly moves throughout the scenario that by itself is a work of art, with extreme jumps, also a vision of the gravity in the future. The attacks are perfectly balanced, with only three regenerating discs, alongside unique powerups, never before - or after- seen. The graphics are beautiful, incredibly photorealistic, aesthetically pleasing. Every model, every part, every polygon in the entire game is beautifully made by the highest professionals in the industry. The sound design is simply revolutionary. Featuring realistic, high-quality sounds of futuristic battlefields, along with blood-curling, well-made screams, it makes you feel like you are in the game with an overall never-before seen immersion not even VR can replicate. Words can't describe how perfect this game is. This is, without a doubt, the best game ever made.

Before i played ricochet for the first time i was a heroin junkie,i was in the lowest point in my life.When i opened this game i saw everything beautiful thing that this miserable life has to offer.After my first match i have changed my bad habits and started working out and got my dream job,hours after hours training in this game to be the best one.When i reached 1000 hour my pp size was 30 cm.Thank you Ricochet for changing my life.Valve please make Ricochet 2 i want to play it with my wife and kids.

As much as it gets memed on, Ricochet is actually pretty fun. I wish it was a little more active or had some kind of remake (perhaps in Source 2?) so that more people would actually give it a shot, but it'll just have to exist in its weird meme purgatory

It is the strangest game from Valve Corporation. It is also one of the least known games developed by them. I played it for 10 minutes. It was completely empty. Is it truly dead? Not sure. Is it truly undead? Not sure either. Mysteries of Ricochet are hard to grasp. Be careful to not let Ricochet ricochet you to the Void. This game might be something that represents eternal struggle to survive. Or it is just one small completely insignificant particle of the universe. Ricochet is above and beyond answering what it is to anyone. Ricochet cannot be truly understood. You must simply accept that Ricochet exists.

Let's give a one-minute silence to Ricochet. Even if it's neither dead nor undead (it can be both dead and undead).

The Greatest game ever made.
Scratch that, the greatest work of art ever. Mona Lisa? Chicken scratches! Beethoven's 9th? the slobbering of an infant!
Every other Valve game is just a feeble mockery of this pinnacle of video game.
The smooth gameplay as you throw discs in flat lines, so immersive you lose yourself in the incredibly detailed maps.
The reflective scream your character makes as he falls towards the abyss, symbolic of our own primal fear of death.
The absence of music representing the absence of happiness in a world that has fallen into endless war.
That this game is not owned by every steam user is a tragedy that cannot be expressed by the combined efforts of every poet, author, painter, composer, playwright, hairsylist, tattoo artist, actor, floralist, singer, dancer, and chef that ever existed, exists, or will exist.

Buy this game. Change your life.

Despite the many negative reviews this game us actually ok. It definitely wasn't as popular as the other games, but it has a nice challenging, action-packed multiplayer gameplay. It was a mod for Half-Life, and a good one too. Barely anybody plays this, so atleast get it with the VCP (Valve Complete Pack.)

Well, it came free with updates to Half-Life, and it came on my CS disc. I don't know why they selling it on steam.

Real gem overshadowed by the likes of counter strike, portal and half-life. Hard to find a server with players in it, but if you have a group of friends, it could be fun and chill little side game.

A truly fun and radiant PvP game. Tne very compelling story combined with fast & volumetric gameplay is sure to provide a unique experience for the player. Nature's perfect blend at first sight. Hopefully Ricochet 2 will bring something new to the table and exceed the game that is Ricochet.

Graphics are 10/10, the modern sound engine makes Surround Sound perfect, the music is amazing, and the servers are always full. A perfect game for perfect people (who dont like to jump with spacebar)

What can I say that hasn't been said already about this absolute masterpiece. Ricochet was far ahead of its time in terms of compelling storytelling, stunning graphics, and tight gameplay. Valve, make Ricochet 2 in VR.

Richochet seems like a really fun game, but sadly I cannot play it whatsoever because it's a completely dead game. Going to keep this review short and to the point, unlike my other reviews.

The game is multiplayer game from Valve where you throw discs at other players, while hopping around on platforms. From gameplay footage I saw online, it looked fun, but when it came time to try it out, I couldn't get a single match going and you can't even jump around the platforms alone and throw discs into the void.

Sadly as I said this game is absolutely dead, there isn't a single server with someone playing, unless you have a friend who can hop on with you, there's no point in buying this game.

Also since I can't play this one, I won't be giving it any pros or cons or even a rating, cause that wouldn't be fair.

Fantastic game. The best valve game out there. I absolutely love this game. I play this game for hours every night and i am confident in saying i am probably the best ricocheter (what us ricochet players call ourselves) in the world and assuming no space aliens play ricochet, in the galaxy. But if any highly advanced aliens were to play any human creation and enjoy it, it would be for sure ricochet. Overall i'd give it a 7/10

I honestly don't know why this game is as dead as it is. It's really nice for a quick match and rewards good movement skills.
It can be hard to get into (mostly because there are no other players most of the time) but when you actually find a match with a few people you can have a lot of fun.

Gonna make an ESports/Competitive team to revive the playerbase, mark my words. This game is coming back baby.
