Apologies for the radio silence, we have been hard at work developing new projects that you will see us talking about soon!
Version 1.2.05 is now available and contains various updates / bug fixes based on issues reported by the community. As always, thanks to everyone who has sent in reports and feedback, your continued support has been invaluable!
If you’re curious, we have been doing internal prototypes and little game jams such as Gorble (available here: https://store.steampowered.com/app/3107440/Gorble/) as we learn / transition to new tools (Unreal Engine 5).
Updates
- Added a message when a player attempts to transfer cargo from the planet surface to your ship if there is no available cargo slot
- AI crew bots will now update their behaviors more often to improve reaction times
- Overhauled the dialogue menu to make it easier to read, and use more of the available screen space. Also polished the visuals a little bit on it.
- Visual improvements to the store menu, menu is now larger, updates itself faster, and items/components appear without initial positioning issues / hitches
- Small update to the Inventory menu: added an small outline to the item description to improve readability for certain items
- Reduced minimum warp travel time before skip to 4 seconds (from 8 seconds)
- The Photon reconnect menu is now more stable and should no longer trigger itself as often
- The Photon region select menu now can switch regions quicker and without causing the reconnect menu to appear every time
- URV-500: intro cutscene will not re-play on every death / reload
Fixes
- Implemented changes to ship screens to help prevent font texture corruption / garbled text in certain circumstances
- Unaligned ships (ex. Suncircler) lost their ship registration when loaded from a save file causing nearly all ships to be immediately hostile to the player ship
- Fixed issue with the store menu that could cause it to stop updating itself making it impossible to buy/sell from any stores until a game restart
- Fixed issue that prevented AI bots on the Interceptor from repairing the Engineering system
- Fixed issue that caused the fire extinguisher sound effect to continuously play in certain circumstances even when it is not in use
- Fixed issue with laser turrets (and some other beam-based turrets) that caused them to not stop their beam sound effect in certain circumstances
- Removed “View Galaxy Settings” button from The Academy as it was not relevant and caused strange behavior when it was used
- The game’s Steam integration now only is activated when launched through Steam
- Fixed issues with the controls menu when the game is launched outside of Steam
- Dozens of additional small tweaks were added to help prevent internal errors that were automatically reported by the game (thank you to the players who have analytics enabled!)
- Fixed connection issue with voice chat, if it was not enabled when you start / join a game it would not function properly
- Fixed UI scaling issue with the manual, it was a little too large and some of the text could be obscured or go off-screen
- The outdated AI version menu no longer triggers on initial launch of the game / when AI priorities haven’t been set before
- Fixed issue that could cause the game to crash when the player leaves an online game
- Fixed issue with various parts of the game that would not handle date / time formatting when the PC was set to certain language / culture settings. Caused issues with the load game menu and the final section of the Lost Colony (it would get stuck at 50%)
- URV-500: added additional collider to prevent player from getting stuck above the navigation console / mapping screen
- URV-500: updated the font configuration to help ensure the translation log screen does not show garbled text
Thanks for your time!
Best,
The Leafy Games Team
