- veränderte combinesounds, höhen und tiefen bearbeitet, kein half life feeling
- sehr schlecht

+ Tolle kleine Geschichte
+ Liebevolle Level

Doorways are oddly tight, like they're just wide enough for my body. But if you don't approach dead on and right in position, you hit a corner and s l o w d o w n so much that, if anyone wants to shoot you, they will. Don't mind dying, do mind dying because touching a door frame means going slower than a sleepy toddler.
The ammo and health packs are much more rare than in HL. Some gamers love having almost no ammo and health for most of the game. I am not one of them. You know how you wonder sometimes if you should reload a save and see if you can get through with that much more health and armor? Now, do that after every scene.
Running doesn't run. I have no idea why. I hear that distinctive whoosh noise, but either they nerfed running to make the game harder or I cannot remember HL.
I absolutely love the concept of this game, so I hope whoever is working on this keeps at it and polishes it up.

Yes, it is nowhere near well designated as Minerva but honestly it feels like majority of negative publicity caused because that is not a free mod, rather a retail game. Yes, slow elevator sections are a bit too much but aside from that the game deserves its current base price (4,99€). I genuinely enjoyed my time with it which is 4 hours.

The story was confusing to follow along with, especially after entering Nova Prospekt. Why are we going back into Nova Prospekt after Gordon Freeman had already destroyed it after leaving in the portal with Alyx? What are the Vortigaunts having us destroy and why? It left me with quite a few unanswered questions.
And as another reviewer mentioned, the Xen part was an extreme letdown. You're only in Xen for not even five minutes, and you just jump from some floating islands to another, activate another teleporter, and leave Xen. Then we're on some...orbiting Combine base floating in Earth's orbit and we have to destroy some core? I really didn't get it.
Some areas of level design were a bit confusing as well. Certain doors or vents had no indication (or even slight landmarks indicating their presence) at all, so I actually had to use noclip a few times to find my way around. The worst thing about the levels though, were the elevator speeds. Some of the elevators move so slowly and tediously, I end up noclipping to the next level or area. A few of the puzzles were repetitive as well, like the parts near the end where you have to press buttons in certain rooms to open one central door, a puzzle repeated 2-3 times.
The game doesn't explain things that well, which is a shame, cause Prospekt has a lot of potential as a mod. There were parts of it I enjoyed, and parts I didn't.
Prospekt is a good mod, sure, don't think I'm saying it isn't, because I'm not. It's a good mod, but it has the potential of being great, and never really unlocked that potential.

There were a couple parts that were buggy, and a few times where the soldiers didn't acknowledge the player (these were rare and usually after several other soldiers already spawned and fought the player). Some parts became repetitive and as much as I loved going through the Combine architecture it began to blur together after a while. That said, I personally thought the voice acting was really great (especially the flashback voiceover moments), the new Combine units you cross are cool, and the atmosphere set in each major setting was appropriate and immersive, albeit a bit repetitive.
TL;DR - it's worth a playthrough especially if you miss Shephard and gunning down Combine elites. Cut the developer some slack, it's not perfect but it's really well done for a solo project. I thought it was good fun.

Intro
It's not quite the Opposing Force sequel we all expected and/or wanted, but it's the closest we'll ever get to having one. It has a few unbalanced moments, but it's still fun. Just whatever you do, don't call this a mod. Especially since it doesn't require you to own Half-Life 2.
Positives
+ Serviceable story
+ Surprisingly good voice acting.
+ Unofficial Opposing Force sequel.
+ Certain graphics push the Source engine to its limits.
+ Good soundtrack. Even though it's custom made for this game, it still sounds like it belongs in Half-Life.
Negatives
- Certain areas can be too dark. But the problem is slightly alleviated with the fact that you have a flashlight.
- A few encounters in the spaceship are unbalanced. You will have to cheese it to get through some of those encounters.

The game starts, as I said, with a really cool premise. You're in Nova Prospekt, you know Gordon is somewhere tearing shit up alongside Alyx. You come across Antlions, Combine soldiers, and headcrabs (even Zombines!), and then... The game does nothing with said premise. Not even halfway through the game (which, by the way, is very short), you get a callback to Opposing Foce: you reach Nova Prospekt's teleportation room just as Gordon and Alyx left, and are forced to go into the portal yourself, only to be teleported... Somewhere else? After a brief teleportation mishap montage (which takes you to locations such as Isaac's lab, a church, and what looks like the Borealis), you end up at some Combine facility. And from then on, you fight Combine soldiers after Combine soldiers, going through dozens of hallways that look mostly the same, while Shephard keeps having these weird auditive flashbacks of his time in the HECU. There is a few interesting set pieces, but nothing that really makes you think there's a goal or purpose. The game feels extremely monotone.
Graphics-wise, well, it's a Half-Life 2 mod, so it looks as good as Half-Life 2 does. The gunplay is exactly the same (you get all HL2 weapons besides the Gravity Gun and the Pheropods), and the sound design is decent. Still, I just can't recommend this game, not even with a discount, as it just feels underwhelming, with no sense of story or plot.

As a source modder, I can't deny the effort that both of them put on the game. Source Engine is a really tough thing to work with, and Source developers are the most respected people to me. They both are great games to play. But something that defers Prospekt from HDTF to be more loved, is the great technical development and the incredible map design. On the other side, HDTF brought a new style to the Half-Life community. New mechanism, Cutscenes and New weapons (that most of the community members prefer the legacy style games/mods) along with LOTS OF technical issues and the awful level design. They tried to make the game like half-life, to make the player find the way and complete the objective without needing any journals/minimaps, but the maps are designed pointlessly huge. So you keep hating the game more and more while you progress into next chapters. But in this case, Prospekt showed off the ability of the developer - Richard Seabrook, and the reputability of continuing Half-Life: Opposing Force Story with some adorable flashbacks that preserves the origin of the lore. This game is more like a master level pack for Half-Life 2 and got no new mechanisms like HDTF, making it praiseworthy for the OG fans of Half-Life series. But it might be a platitudinous pick for someone who has tried all of the free mods on Steam, or boring for the new fans. And also, Prospekt can look much more better if Rich used an image upscale app or sth like this to increase the quality of the textures and wipes out the 2004 textures with the modern looking ones.
[spoiler]Just imagine how amazing HDTF will be if both Prospekt devs and HDTF devs would have worked on it.[/spoiler]

The Good:
-The game doesnt overstay its welcome, it took me ~2 hours to complete my first play through
-This title doesnt have any major game breaking bugs
-Its fun for the most part.
-The lighting can be really cool at times, HEV charging stations and Combine soldiers have a much more noticeable glow than in Half Life 2.
The Bad:
-No gravity gun or equally cool weapon to replace it
-Lighting can be way too dark at times, making it impossible to see without flashlight.
-Voice Acting is kinda low quality at some points.
-Any part of the game where u have to hold out while enemies pour in is kind of annoying, level design is not exciting in general.
-Some parts of the game feel unintuitive, but I might be stupid.
All in all I wouldnt recommend purchasing this at full price. While its decently fun at some points a discounted price is the only way I can justify buying it. This game can also be cooped on synergy which is an added bonus.

The Good:
VISUALS. Everything in this game is beautiful. The lighting is super well done, and Although Nova Prospekt doesn't look that stunning, it is immediately made up for with the amazing combine architecture on the space station you later board.
The Voice Acting. It's amazing. What else can I say about it?
Really great pacing and direction.
The soundtrack is easily one of my favorites from any Half-Life Mod. Will definitely give a listen.
The Bad:
You play as Adrian Shepherd, yet you wear a greyish hev suit for some reason, and use a crowbar.
Some encounters with the combine are pretty terrible, as you find yourself cowering in cover at 14 hp with no ammo while getting shot at by like 15 soldiers. There. Are. So. Many. Soldiers.
You move all over the place. Enter one portal, fight combine for 15 minutes, then go into another portal. It just feels like the story is going nowhere, and you just go from one environment to the next.
How things can be fixed:
If they just tuned the amount of enemies in some areas, then a lot of the gameplay would be fixed.
Instead of teleporting from place to place every 10 minutes, why not save a teleportation element for a specific and important moment? Instead of being in Nova Prospekt for a bit and then getting into the teleporter from hl2's last nova prospekt level, why not go through Nova Prospekt a bit more, and saving the teleportation for the other giant teleporter that you enter a bit afterwards? If that is done, then it has more importance in the story, or what is supposed to be a story.
More story elements. More characters to interact with. Maybe some prisoners in Nova Prospekt that say they are trying to achieve a goal, so you actually have a purpose and a goal to achieve. Sure, you have a core to destroy in a combine ship, but that is never presented to you or taught to you. Opposing Force was all about the HECU, and the different soldiers around you backing you up in encounters. What if this was done in some way? I could go on and on, but there's just too much to cover. If I were able to become a writer for this, I seriously would take up that offer.
Welp that's it. I hope we get updates soon, because the potential of this game is just gigantic.

Some of the fights felt cheap. Some puzzles were so poorly designed just no-clipping is more fun. Your usually getting flooded with enemies and 9/10 times you don't have enough health or ammo to get past. The soundtrack was super lame and just poorly designed.
The few positives I can say are not enough for me to recommend it. Looks good. Not terribly written story. Some puzzles were alright and okay voice acting.
I know the guy that made this has put a lot of effort in and he has been listening to what people have to say about it, I hate saying this but Prospekt just isn't a good game, but at least it is still better then Hunt Down the Freeman. 4/10.

Cheaper than your typical McDonalds lunch.
More balanced gunplay and gameplay than HL2 proper.
AI has been improved over HL2, and so have the maps' overall design.
Looks great for source engine standards.
Atmosphere looks and sounds very good.
The ending is unsettlingly menacing, and does the job for another entry.
Combine look, sound, and feel much more like an imposing threat with their updates.
Feels authentic enough to be a serviceable addition to the HL2 universe.
Cons:
Where's Freeman?
Xen needs an overhaul ASAP, you're literally there for 5 minutes at best.
Enemy variety is a little stale towards the end. Why not add in those new combine variants from HLA?
Why are there no gunship or vehicle battles? You get an RPG near the end, and it feels kind of wonky in tight halls.
Story leaves something to be desired at times, but is enjoyable in its own right.
Overall, if you need something to scratch that Half Life itch, but don't have a ridiculously expensive VR headset, this is your game. Feels good, and is playable start to finish with little to no issues outside of what I stated. Short but sweet, looking forward to playing the next game, would love to see more FPS action like this.
4/5
-Not bad for a first try. Would recommend.

The early chapters were fairly creative, then it became room, corridor, elevator, room, corridor, elevator with way too many enemies. Played on normal difficulty, and died a lot, the enemies are tough and makes you really need to duck and cover.
Main gripe is the amateur mistakes modders make, like after defeating a huge room of enemies, you would likely quick save the game and expect health and ammo to be in the next room, but instead here, more enemies, meaning you could have saved on 1 health and be fubar. Also no crossbow in the game, which is annoying as most enemies are a mile away before they get to you, hard to snipe with a machine gun.
It's challenging, which is nice once in a while, but does get repetitive, i'm pretty sick of the sight of Combine by the end.
As far as mods go, it's alright, it's playable, it's just nowhere near Valve quality.

The negative: These are more nitpicks if anything, but I figured I may as well say it: I don't entirely like how we only had gotten a crowbar instead of Shephard's pipe wrench and that we didn't have unique weapons, but that doesn't take away from the fact that this is a very excellent game. I do wish the G-Man would talk, but the fact that he doesn't talk at all in this makes him more sinister, at least to me.
Overall rating: 9/10! I highly recommend playing this if you're looking for some more Half-Life content! I wish you the best of luck in your future games, Richard Seabrook!
