2021 review
- the game's pretty much the same as nfs shift [b] (controls, steering, etc) since they're both developed by sms
- [b] the visuals & detail quality
is somehow similar to fm7, the damage model is better though - the career progression are not so linear which is great, in fact you can choose what division do you wanna start first (e.g f1, mabe gt4 or even kart)
- the cars are in good amount , it's decent tbh
- the dynamic weather is stunningly beautiful, it's kinda satisfying when you have a good dry condition lap and foggy stormy rain on the next one
- i rate the photomode 6/10 , its decent, has couple of fixed filters, camera settings, and replay mode (quite a must on sim games)
- i rate the pit box 2/5 , because you tends to have other cars even pit crew overlapping your car and the fact that it doesn't have a good pit animation like what they advertised in the promotion video, kind of missleading if you ask me but lots of more famous sim games at this era doesnt really have a good animation either so :/
- the online features is half closed, possibly will be fully offline soon, currently driver network is locked but you can still join or create a public race session (dev might disable that in the future)
- 2 achievements that can't be unlockable for eternity because of driver network being disabled (1. community ambassador 2. one more for the road )
- the ai drivers difficulty is very adjustable with 0-100 setting
- q: can you play project cars with keyboard?
a: yes, definitely... even though it's a sim sms still learned from nfs shift being a "semi-sim / semi-arcade" racing which is basically means it's a sim but with little bits of arcade like controls. but i do recommend using at least a xbox controller, makes the experience it better
- the driving aids contains braking and steering assists, both can be turn on/off to your hearts content, but i do find the braking assist kinda notchy especially when you're in the middle of the track and pit lane, i recommend turning it off, same thing as steering assists, they're quite helpful if you use keyboard, but bad if you use controller/steering wheel, because it tends to make sudden moves and leans your car back to the track even though you wanna go to the pit lane
- i rate the customization 2/10 , it has no adjustable mods whatsoever, in career mode you'll be picked with a random livery that doesn't even match with the team's name, you can however choose any liveries only for free practice/quick race, quite a downgrade from nfs shift 2 that you can do visual & performance mod a bare stock car to a full on gt car and so on
- the game has vr support idk lotta people will use that :/
