nette Grafik und sicher auch gutes Spiel...
aber halt etwas anderes als ein Fan von Project Cars 1&2 für den Nachfolger erwartet hätte...

völlig anderes Gameplay, mit einem anderen Namen wäre es ehrlicher gewesen...

enttäuschend, die entwiklung dieser serie.. die ich einst aus dem Entwicklungsstatus mit hoch gepusht hab, auf Kommerz und Verkaufszahlen abzielt und nicht auf Qualität .. sehr traurig

Schlechter geht wohl gar nicht. Ein Haufen Bugs und eine Menuführung für den Irrenarzt. Optik ist ja nicht schlecht, aber der Rest ist einfach nur für den Eimer und Geld zum Fenster raus geworfen. Schlimm wie man ein Spiel so verschlechtern kann und dafür noch Geld verlangt. Mit Simulation hat das nicht viel zu tun. Hab mich lange genug damit geplagt, nun lasse ich es mich weiter zu ärgern.
Bin seit Anfang dabei und finde PC-2 immer noch besser.

Es ist echt enttäuschend wie man ein Spiel so verschlechtern kann, im Gegensatz zu Teil 2,
den ich um längen besser Fand als diesen 3. Teil.
Die Menüführung ist sowas von verwirrend dass ich völlig entnervt aufgab.
Vorher (Teil 2) war dagegen Top!
Jetzt ist es allenfalls eher ein billiger Forza abklatsch mit Fahreigenschaften ala Need for Speed... Na Bravo!
15 - 30 Min testen waren mir genug. für mich es ist Kinderspiel für 5 jährige.

I enjoy playing PC3. It's a great game.
You might enjoy it aswell, if you don't expect it to be a sim-racer.
Just ignore the fact, that it is called Project Cars.

The biggest cons of this game are the loading times when starting a race and the grip level of the AI on weather conditions, especially on snow.

Trotz der vielen schlechten Bewertungen, dachte ich als Fan von Teil 1&2, ich geb dem Spiel mal eine Chance. Also auf einen Sale gewartet und mal ausprobiert.
Was für eine Katastrophe. Ich weiß wirklich nicht was die Entwickler der Fanbasis damit sagen wollten? Wie kann man nach so genialen Spielen wie PC1 und PC2 nur so einen Haufen Müll abliefern. Es sieht wie ein 08/15 Android-Arcade-Racer für 11-jährige aus und spielt sich auch ganz genau so.

Vielen Dank an Steam, dass ich mein Geld so unkompliziert zurückbekommen habe.

Aufgrund der vielen Rezessionen, war mir zwar relativ klar, worauf ich mich bei diesem Spiel einlasse. Trotzdem bin ich immer noch völlig fassungslos, wie man aus einer Simulation (PC 1 und PC 2) ein 200 prozentiges Arcade Game machen kann. Wer von den verantwortlichen ist nur auf diese Idee gekommen. Dieses Game ist nichts für Leute, die ernsthaft, realistisch und vor allem sauber Rennen fahren wollen. Wenn man Abends auf der Couch vorm Fernseher mit ein paar Kumpels und dann am besten noch mit Konsole, sich dumm ein wenig durch die Gegend schubsen will, dann ist man hier richtig. Für alle anderen der Rat, lasst die Finger davon. Habe das Spiel im Sale für 16 Euros gekauft, daher Ärger ich mich nicht wirklich. Wollte das mit eigenen Augen sehen. Und muss den ganzen schlechten Rezessionen absolut Recht geben. Mehr gibts dazu nicht zu sagen.

Wer bei der Grafik, keine hohen Ansprüche hat, kann sich auch für weniger Geld Need for Speed Shift 2 (von 2011) kaufen.
PC3 ist fast das gleiche Spiel (beide von slightly mad studios), PC3 hat nur neue Fahrzeug-Lizenzen, ist nur halb so umfangreich wie NFS Shift 2 (Rennen, Zeitfahren, Elimination, Drag und Drift) und dazu schlichter gestaltet und inszeniert.
Die Karriere ist einfallslos und beinhaltet zu viele Tempomacher (durchschnittliche Rundenzeit nach Vorgabe) und heiße Runde (eine schnelle Runde nach Vorgabe), die ohne die Möglichkeit, einer Testfahrt absolviert werden sollen, denn eher selten, ist man die jeweilige Strecke zuvor schon im Spiel gefahren.
Das verdienen von Credits geht nur über Level-Aufstiege, weshalb es auch passieren kann, dass man für ein Rennen keine Credits erhält, was mich sehr demotiviert.
Kauft das Spiel lieber nur im Sale.

Ich verstehe die ganzen negativen Rezensionen zu Project Cars 3 nicht, denn in meinen Augen macht das Spiel richtig Laune. Das Grinding-Prinzip in der Karriere gefällt mir sehr gut, denn so muss man sich ein Auto erarbeiten und hat ein Ziel vor Augen. Die verschiedenen Aufträge in den Rennklassen sind abwechslungsreich gestaltet. Auch das Fahrfeeling, die Grafik und der Sound sind erstklassig. Also alles in allem ein perfekter Arcaderacer in meinen Augen.

Und da liegt wahrscheinlich der Knackpunkt für die vielen negativen Kommentare. Project Cars hat sich mit seinem ersten und zweiten Teil einen Namen gemacht, wegen der nahezu perfekten Rennsimulation. Der dritte Teil geht tatsächlich eher in Richtung Arcade, doch diesen Part haben sie auch super umgesetzt, nur stößt er eben den Hardcore-Rennsimulator-Fans böse auf.

Deshalb gebt dem Spiel eine Chance und testet es, denn ihr könnt es ja nach ich meine 2 oder 3 Spielstunden zurückgeben und bekommt das Geld zurück. Ich habe auch lange gezögert wegen der vielen negativen Rezensionen.

Project Cars 3 ist ein Arcade Racer der mit ansehnlicher Grafik und guter Steuerung zu gefallen weiß. Der Sound ist auch gelungen und die vielen Strecken und Autos runden das gute Spiel Erlebnis ab. Die vielen DLC's machen einen guten Eindruck und werden in einem Sale zu einem vernünftigen Preis auch empfehlenswert werden. Man sollte sich aber darüber im Klaren sein, dass es sich bei diesem Spiel nicht um einen direkten Nachfolger von Project Cars 2 handelt, denn das ist er sicher nicht. Simulations Fans sollten deshalb die Finger von diesem Spiel lassen, oder die Enttäuschung wird sicher groß, wie es in einigen Reviews bereits deutlich zum Ausdruck gebracht wurde.

Bought, installed, played, uninstalled and started PC2.

The game is a disappointment and I don't enjoy it. Better save your money and get PC2. You get more for your money. Also the multiplayer not taking AI in borders on a joke. Once again they didn't listen to the community and just did something to pull the money out of people's pockets.

PC3 ist das beste Arcade VR game .
Wer Gran Turismo und Forza mag und das in VR erleben will ist hier richtig.
Und nochmal es ist Arcade game und für Controller ausgelegt.
Ich selber bin in Simracing zu Hause aber zwischen durch ist PC3 und besonders in VR absolut zu empfehlen.

Bin ziemlich enttäuscht vom 3. Teil. Ich hab die LMP1 Autos gemocht. Die Möglichkeiten, das Auto richtig auf die eigenen Bedürfnisse anzupassen und auch an die Strecken. Le Mans fehlt... Spa auch. Hat das Flair eines NFS Abklatsch für mich. Den Kauf bereue ich jedenfalls.

Willkommen bei dem schlechtesten Project Cars der Reihe das durch unfähige Entwickler und Geldgier vom Publisher in den Schmutz gezogen wurde da man der Meinung war ein billiges Arcade Rennspiel herauszunringen anstatt der Simulation treu zu bleiben wie bei Project Cars 1 und 2

Unfähige Entwickler merkt man auch an den Strecken bei denen teilweise die Markierungen fehlerhaft platziert wurden was daran liegt das die Entwickler keine Ahnung von den Strecken hatte was dann dazu führt das viele Strecken wo man alle Kurven meistern soll fehlerhaft gezählt werden trotz 100% Ideallinie und somit abgelehnt werden

Auch das System mit den Aufgaben pro Rennen hätte man sich ersparen können da es kompletter Mist ist und eher in ein Open World Rennspiel gehört.

Grafisch hat sich seit Project Cars 2 nicht viel geändert und durch das Wettersystem sogar schlimmer geworden da jeder Wagen unkontrolliert wegrutscht und extremes Aquaplaning herrscht.

Die KI ist teilweise extrem aggresiv und haut auch mal gerne einen in die Wiese wodurch man dann bestraft wird wegen angeblichen abkürzen der Rennstrecke da das System dafür komplett verbockt wurde.

Geplante Events die angeboten werden nutzt keiner da kaum welche im Multiplayer spielen

Mein Fazit dazu:
Lasst die Finger weg da es nicht mal in einem Sale sein Geld wert ist
Bessere Alternativen für diesen Schrott Spiel sind Project Cars 1&2, Assetto Corsa, Automobilista, Forza Motorsport usw. die jeden Euro wert sind

Project CARS 3 macht sich die Welt, wie sie dir gefällt

Slighty Mad nennt das im Hauptmenü „Eigenes Event“ und kann man sich von vornherein am gesamten Fuhrpark und Streckenpool bedienen.Ebenso kann man seine Startposition zwischen „Erster“, „Mitte“, „Letzter“ & „Zufällig“ auswählen. Regeln und Strafen an- oder abgewählt und es kann losgehen. Die Menge der Einstellungsmöglichkeiten ist schlichtweg gigantisch. Allerdings hört die Qual der Wahl bei den Einstellungen nicht auf. Auch die Fahrzeuge stellen euch vor schwierige Entscheidungen. Denn zu Beginn weiß man gar nicht genau, was man denn nun eigentlich fahren soll.

Schließlich steht in Project CARS 3 einfach eine so riesige Auswahl an Fahrzeugen und Strecken zur Verfügung, dass es eine wahre Freude ist. Wir entscheiden uns letztlich für den BMW E90 320TC und wählen die Nürburgring Nordschleife 24h-Version. Man kann das Start- und Zielwetter, den Streckenzustand und den Zeitverlauf samt Jahres- & Tageszeit auswählen. Zusätzlich dazu lassen sich auch eine Rundenanzahl zwischen 1 und 99 und maximal 31 KI-Gegner zum Duellieren hinzufügen.

Doch zurück zu unserem eigenen Event. Wir haben 3 Runden die legendäre grüne Hölle mit unserem BMW ausgewählt und freuen uns auf den Start. Nachdem wir uns bewusst auf den letzten Startplatz haben setzen lassen, sehen wir das volle Starterfeld und bewundern ein bisschen den angehenden Sonnenuntergang im Herbst. Es geht los mit 15 Konkurrenten und direkt in der ersten Kurve geht es heiß her. Je nachdem wie aggressiv man die KI stellt, kann sich diese auch schon mal in eine kleine Lücke schieben und es geht für einen selbst in die Wiese. Nach 3 langen Runden zu je 25,378 km, sind wir endlich im Ziel und bekommen sogar für unsere Spaßrunden XP und Credits.

Große Stärke von Project CARS 3: Möge der Tuninggott mit dir sein
Einfach nur Leistung ohne Ende in den Bock zu hämmern, bringt in Project CARS 3 aber leider gar nichts. Genauso ist es ineffektiv, nur in Fahrdynamik und Bremsen zu investieren. Hier zählt die perfekte Balance zwischen Leistung und Grip. Das Spiel möchte euch so nach und nach an die schnelleren Autos gewöhnen, ohne dass das Fahrzeug übertunet wird. Diesen Spagat hat Entwickler Slightly Mad Studios nahezu perfekt gelöst. Jedes neu verbaute Teil wirkt sich merklich auf die Performance und auch die Rundenzeiten aus.

Was natürlich auch zu einem ordentlichen Tuning gehört, ist das sogenannte „Feintuning“ oder Setup bauen. Hier kann man, sofern die richtigen Teile verbaut sind, Fahrwerk, Bremskraftverteilung oder auch Reifendruck einstellen. Wenn man in der Karriere weit genug ist, macht es Sinn, sein Auto einem Rennumbau zu unterziehen. Hier bekommt man ein überarbeitetes Chassis, Überrollkäfig, Rennelemente im Cockpit und eine deutlich besser Fahrdynamik geboten. Und man darf dann mit diesem Fahrzeug an den höheren Karriere-Ligen mit einer „R“-Wertung teilnehmen.

Steuerung & Gameplay von Project CARS 3: Ein Tanz auf dem Vulkan
Eins vorab: Unser Fanatec CSL Elite PS4 Set wurde zum Testzeitpunkt leider nicht als Peripherie zum Fahren erkannt. Im Menü steuern ging, danach war Schluss. Das trübt aber zum Glück nicht auf das Testergebnis, da sich Project CARS 3 mit dem Gamepad fabelhaft fahren lässt. Man merkt, dass die Fahrzeugkontrolle genau wie angekündigt auf das Gamepad optimiert wurde. Und man merkt, dass sich die Fahrphysik gegen das Lenkrad entscheidet. Man hat jederzeit die volle Kontrolle über seine virtuellen Fahrzeuge und es macht Spaß bei leichtem Übersteuern im Kurvenausgang das Fahrzeug mit gezielten Stickbewegungen sauber im kontrollierten Drift zu halten.

in solider Racer mit jeder Menge Content stellt einen manchmal vor eine schwierige Entscheidung, welches Auto man kaufen und liebhaben soll. Das ist aber ein reines Luxusproblem. Das, was den meisten bei Project CARS 3 ein Dorn im Auge sein wird, ist dass der dritte Teil der Reihe nichts mehr mit den beiden vorherigen Ablegern gemein hat. Der Aspekt Simulation wurde in Betracht auf die Physik komplett gestrichen. Fahrtechnisch ist es perfekt für den „Ab-und-zu-Racer“ gedacht, der mit dem Pad im chilligem Sitzsack mit seinen Buddies über die diversen Rennstrecken dieser Welt fahren will.

Der bekennende Project CARS-Fan oder Hardcore Simracer, der mit seinem Lenkrad um Pokale fahren will, ist hier aber vollkommen fehl am Platz und kann das Geld in neue Hardware oder erweitertem Content stecken. Jeder, der Bock auf ein besseres und moderneres GRID und ein paar Mitfahrer hat, kann hier durchaus eine Menge Spaß haben. Die ausgeweitete Funktion der Fahrzeugoptimierung und -individualisierung unterstützt diese Aussage noch ungemein.

Ich habe mir das Spiel bei einem Online Anbieter die Deluxe Edition mit Season Pass und den dazugehörigen Dlc`s für günstige 40 statt 149,99€ gekauft.
Alleine bei dem Preis kann man mal auf einige Bugs oder sonstige kleinen Einstürzen was sehr selten vorkommt drüber hinweg schauen.

Ich feier diesen 3.Teil heftigst.

Project Cars 3 hat ein Problem: seinen Namen! Die Erwartungen, die an ein Rennspiel der Project-Cars-Reihe geknüpft sind, versucht der dritte Teil gar nicht erst zu erfüllen. Slightly Mad zieht die Handbremse und schlägt das Lenkrad zur Chicago-Wende Richtung Arcade ein. Das Ergebnis mag nicht die Brillanz eines Forza Motorsport oder -Horizon erreichen, doch man spürt sehr deutlich den Bezug zu den NFS-Shift-Wurzeln. Der Mix, der dabei heraus kam, wird ja häufig als identitätslos bezeichnet. Das trifft auf die gleiche Weise zu, wie es auch zu einfach gefasst ist.

Zum Zeitpunkt des Reviews bin ich zwar erst wenige Stunden auf der Piste. Abgesehen davon, dass ich jetzt schon mehr Spaß mit Project Cars 3 hatte, als mit den Vorgängern, besetzt es doch eine Nische und füllt eine Lücke am PC. Mit seinem VR-Support ist es das Rennspiel, dass dem am nächsten kommt, was man sich als Besitzer eines Headsets von einem Forza Motorsport oder Gran Turismo erwarten würde (und nicht bekommt). Project Cars 3 liefert viele Strecken, eine nette Fahrzeugauswahl und ein arcadiges VR-Gameplay nicht ohne Anspruch.

Das alleine lässt mich schon über etliche der kleinen und größeren Macken hinwegsehen (schlechte Performance bei Regen/Texturen flickern). Wer nicht ständig das eisenharte unverzeihliche Rennsim-Feeling braucht und gerne ein paar lockere Runden in VR drehen möchte, kommt um Project Cars 3 nicht herum, denn was unter normalen Bedingungen nichts Besonderes wäre, steht gameplaytechnisch im PC-VR-Bereich derzeit ziemlich, wenn nicht gar absolut konkurrenzlos da.

Es ist in keinster Weise wie die beiden anderen Teile. Habe es nach einer Stunde zurückgegeben, weil es mir keinen Spaß gemacht hat. Das Fahrzeugverhalten war sehr schlecht und allgemein, ist es meiner Meinung nach kein würdiger Nachfolger von Project Cars 2. Was ich aber gut fand war das Fortschrittssystem, dass man Geld sammeln muss um sich neue Fahrzeuge zu kaufen, dass hat mir gefallen.
Aber am besten man probiert es einfach selbst aus und macht sich dann sein eigenes Bild, wenn es einem nicht gefällt, kann man ja eine Rückerstattung beantragen.

Grosser Fuhrpark und reichhaltige Streckenauswahl. Arcadeansatz anstatt Simulation ist sehr enttäuschend, bei der schwammige Steuerung kommt anstatt Fahrspass nur Langeweile auf. Mittelmässige VR-Grafik ist ebenfalls total ernüchternd. Trotz VR ein enttäuschendes Rennspiel und ist sein Geld nicht wert. Greift zu Automobilista 2, die haben im Gegensatz dazu alles richtig gemacht.

This game is the biggest disappointment this year. I will never buy anything from SMS again. It's really a cheek what has become of PC.

Dieses Spiel ist die grösste Enttäuschung in diesem Jahr. Ich werde nie mehr etwas von SMS kaufen. Es ist wirklich eine Frechheit, was aus PC geworden ist.

Ich habe diese Review für eine Weile zurück gehalten, aber jetzt muss es einfach raus.
Das Gameplay wirkt aus alten Spielen wie NFS SHIFT 2 und Project Cars 1 lieblos zusammengeschustert, im VR sind Abstürze vorprogrammiert.

Allgemein zum Rennen: es startet damit, das am start die schnelleren Fahrzeug, in der gleichen Klasse, in die langsameren, egal ob Bot oder Spieler reinfahren, allgemein scheinen die KI-Fahrer, den Spieler nicht wirklich zu registrieren und wenn dann nur für kurze Zeit, dann rasen sie einem in die Seite oder was sehr häufig passiert, dive-bomben einen in der nächsten Kurve von der strecke, egal mit welchem Aggressionslevel ,am sie einstellt, die KI kein vergleich mehr zu den Vorgängern.

Nächstes Problem: Der Karriere-Modus motiviert nicht, da man nur nach Level aufstiegen und NICHT wie bei anderen Spielen, nach einem Rennen, Geld erhält. Dazu sind die Herausforderungen teils zu leicht, teils zu schwer das ist Zusammenhang mit der KI, wie vorher beschrieben, ist ein Rezept für Desaster.

Das man jetzt seinen eigenen Wagen wie in den geistigen Vorgänger, NfS Shift 1 und 2 tunen kann, zumindest von der Leistung her und mit Rennumbauten, ist ganz okay, nur wirkt das eher wie eine Dreingabe da man auf der anderen Seite für etwas mehr Geld gleich die Rennfahrzeuge kaufen kann.

Und das man dazu dann Lackierungen anpassen kann, ist da auch ganz nett, aber leider kein Vergleich zu Genre-Kollegen der Marke: Grand Turismo oder Forza Motorsport.

Allgemein fühlt sich das Spiel an wie eine Identitätskrise, für eine Simulation, ist es zu Arcadig, (selbst komplett ohne Fahrhilfen) und für ein Arcade-Spiel zu seltsam vom Fahrgefühl her das man fast wieder an eine Simulation denken könnte.

Ich weis nicht ob die Leute von Slighty Mad Studios, dass noch behoben kriegen oder ob sie es überhaupt wollen, es spielt sich eine Beta bei der die Entwickler, ein paar Sachen von älteren Spielen genommen haben und sehen wollen wie diese, mit schicker neuer Grafik überzogen, ankommen.

Bis zu dem Zeitpunkt ist es einfach zu viel verschenktes Potential, also sehr schade

Ich finde bei diesem Spiel einfach den Spielspaß nicht.

Und ich habe ihm genug Zeit gegeben!

Das hat folgende Gründe…

Dämliche Aufgaben (im Rennen):
- Wie fahre 120 Sekunden im Windschatten
- Fahre 10 Sek im Windschatten und überhole
- 10 saubere Überholmanöver innerhalb von 60sek
- Breakout!, blöde Styropor-Klötzchen umfahren... Sind wir hier bei DIRT???
- Breakout und alles was Zeitfahren ist hat zu oft utopische Vorgaben. Nichts gegen Herausforderungen aber hier ist es oft lächerlich…
- Zeitfahren generell wird hier viel zu oft als Aufgabe genutzt. Verdammt nochmal das hier ist ein RENNspiel und keine Timetrial-Simulation

Fahrgefühl:
- Arcade? Simulation? Mir egal, aber:
- Die unteren Klassen fahren sich ganz angenehm. Je höher man kommt, desto unfahrbarer werden die Fahrzeuge. (Z.B. kann mir keiner erzählen, dass ein Lamborghini es nicht schafft, eine Kurve mit 30km/h zu nehmen. Unter 30km/h lenken manche PS-starken Boliden einfach nicht ein und fahren stur gerade aus!)
- Daher führt der Progress im Singleplayer zunehmend dazu, dass sich das Spiel unfair anfühlt. Das ist einfach demotivierend!
- Subjektiv hat man den Eindruck, dass die Entwickler manche Nationen nicht mögen. Z.B. fahren sich alle italienischen Autos in der Road-Klasse einfach nur fürchterlich.
- Das Penalty-System bestraft für mein Empfinden zu hart
- Nasse Strecken fühlen sich oftmals so an, als wenn man auf Eis unterwegs wäre. Das könnte man ja akzeptieren, wenn man trocken startet und es nass wird. Aber bei einem reinen Regenrennen (oder Gott bewahre Schnee) hat man doch vorher ordentliche Schlappen auf seine Karre gezogen.
- Schnee… Sind wir hier bei DIRT Rally? Korrektur… Sind wir hier bei DIRT Rally auf Slicks?!

Die KI ist einfach Mist:
- Der Schwierigkeitsgrad scheint sich nur auf Bremspunkt und Beschleunigungspunkt zu konzentrieren
- Bei Leicht/Mittel/Schwer: Sie kriecht zu viert, fünft oder sechst nebeneinander durch Kurven
- Die KI fährt aber auch zum Teil wie auf Schienen
- Speziell unter nassen Bedingungen ist die KI unfair. Während man selbst Wheel Spin ohne Ende hat beschleunigt die KI scheinbar immer mit 100% Grip
- Es kommt vor, dass die KI in der letzten Runde nochmals einen Turboboost bekommt und wie K.I.T.T. an einem vorbei rast
- Die KI-Geschwindigkeit variiert auch stark nach Stecke. So kann eine Schwere KI manchmal 8 Sekunden zurück sein, auf der nächsten Strecke jedoch uneinholbar

Quality of Life Issues:
- Ich habe ein bestimmtes Auto für eine Aufgabe nicht…
Bspw. Ich brauche einen Klasse-A Ferrari. Ich habe einen Klasse-B Ferrari in der Garage. Warum muss ich jetzt wieder bis ganz ins Hauptmenü, dann in die Garage und kann dann erst meinen Wagen upgraden? Kann ich das nicht im Untermenü der Klasse machen? Zeigt doch einfach alle verfügbaren Wagen in der Auswahl an.
- Tuning: Warum muss ich für bereits gekaufte Einbauten bzw. Einbauten in Besitz oder Stock nochmals Geld zahlen?
- Tuning/Setup: Schön, dass man sein Setup anpassen kann. Eine Erklärung wie sich welche Änderung auswirkt wäre ausgesprochen hilfreich. Andere Games erklären ja auch was die einzelnen Optionen verändern. Hier ist es nur lieblos hingerotzt…
- Warum starte ich IMMER mitten im Feld. Wenn der Entwickler hier unbedingt Timetrials im Spiel haben will, nutzt das doch als Qualifying.
- Timetrial und Co: Jedes Mal nach einer Hotlap neu starten? Echt jetzt? Lasst einen doch wenigstens eine Runde nach der anderen drehen, sodass man eventuell in einen Flow kommt…

Es gibt bestimmt auch positive Aspekte an dem Spiel, aber ich habe schlicht und ergreifend keine Lust auch nur ein Pro aufzuschreiben!

Blöderweise besitze ich auch noch den Seasonpass und muss daher irgendwann mal wieder ins Spiel schauen. Also merkt euch Kinners: Niemals die Katze im Sack kaufen!

Ich habe wirklich versucht dem Spiel eine Chance zu geben in der Hoffnung auf einen würdigen Shift 2 Nachfolger, wurde jedoch maßlos enttäuscht. Sehen wir mal über die ganzen Bugs hinweg die das Spiel im Moment noch hat.
Worüber ich definitiv aber nicht hinweg sehen kann ist das Upgrade und Tunnig System.
Dieses System hat nämlich 0 Einfluss auf die Autos, ob ich einem GT3 Auto eine Gewichtreduzierung gebe oder von Harte auf Weiche Rennreifen steige, um die Kurven kommt es trotzdem nicht besser als vorher.

Da wären wir dann auch beim Thema Tunnig: Dieses System ist wohl einfach im Spiel drinnen damit die Leute glauben es würde etwas an ihrem Auto ändern.

Beispiel: Abtrieb!
Es spielt überhaupt keine Rolle ob ich diesen komplett auf 0 setzte oder auf 10 und 15 das Auto hat weder eine höhere Höchstgeschwindigkeit noch kommt es mit einem hohen Abtrieb besser um Kurven als vorher.

Auch ein gutes Beispiel ist die Achsübersetzung. Ob hoch oder niedrig ändern tut sich nichts.

Und hinzu kommt das man die ganzen Autos nur mit Feintunnig ausstatten kann wenn sie über das entsprechende Upgrade verfügen. Ein GT3 Auto fängt vom Leistungsindex recht hoch an heißt man wird nie ein GT3 Auto komplett mit Feintunnig ausstatten können, wenn es den funktionieren würde.
Man hätte auch das komplette Tunning System einfach weg lassen sollen.

Ist mir persönlich recht neu das ich an einem GT3 Auto kein Feintunnig vornehmen kann, sollte diese Art Autos eigentlich so etwas haben.

Empfehlen kann ich Project Cars 3 auf jeden Fall zum jetzigen Zeitpunkt keinesfalls, es gab zwar schon einen Patch, aber der hat nur das schlimmste bis jetzt gepatcht.
Ob das Spiel in Zukunft noch bessere Patches und mehr bekommt wage ich auch zu bezweifeln. Sollte das Spiel vielleicht doch noch die Kurve bekommen werde ich vielleicht meine Rezension überdenken.

Bis dahin ist jeder mit dem alten Shift 2 oder Forza besser bedient.

Warum?
Nun nicht weil, wie 90 Prozent aller anderen Reviews sagen, es keine hardcore Simulation ist....
Nein das ist es nicht. Ich hatte einige Stunden Spaß mit dem Spiel, Online und Offline, gerade der Rivalenmodus hatte es mir angetan aber am Ende Überwiegen die negativen Eindrücke leider. Bugs.... sehr viele davon. Kleinigkeiten wie das fahre 10 Sekunden im Windschatten, welches nie funktioniert, hat man 20 Sekunden funktioniert es aber? Die KI die gerne mal ne rollende Straßensperre ist indem sie zu sechst nebeneinander durch Kurven kriecht, das an einem anderen Auto kleben bleiben und auf seine Geschwindigkeit runter gebremst werden, Ziele im Tempomacher und Breakout die fast unmöglich zu schaffen sind, ja Herausforderung ist gut aber unmögliche Ziele sind es nicht, Performance Probleme, das Game hängt gerade im Regen gerne mal bei 30 FPS rum (trotz 2080TI) Aber die Krone auf den Haufen der Problemchen hat das Event im Winter wo dem Spieler vergessen wurde Winterreifen zu geben aufgesetzt (Runde A, Porsche Teststrecke) welches der Hauptgrund für diese negative Review ist, wie kann denn so etwas passieren? Bin davor schon ein Event im Winter gefahren, das war ganz cool eigentlich aber das? Neh! Ist selbst mit Traktionskontrolle nicht Fahrbar, das welches ich davor gefahren bin ging ohne Assist wunderbar. Schade! Ich kann nur hoffen das die Bugs und die Performance gefixt werden denn eigentlich möchte ich das Game mögen denn wenn es funktioniert wie es soll macht es echt Spaß.

Ich muss mal ne Lanze brechen für das Spiel. Ich bin als jemand der vorher Forza Horizon 4 gespielt hat, auf der Suche nach etwas mehr Realismus, auf das Spiel gekommen und habe die Vorgänger nicht gespielt. Mir macht das Game sehr viel Spaß! Die Autos fühlen sich authentisch an und der bei Forza oft so vermisste Motorsound ist einfach nur geil.

Für Leute die nicht nur Arcade Rennen wollen, aber auch keine Hardcore Sim-Fans kann ich das Spiel guten gewissens Empfehlen.

Vielleicht noch etwas abwarten. Bis die häufigsten Bugs behoben sind aber stabil laufen tut das Spiel jetzt schon.

War nach den ersten Ankündigungen, wie die meisten, sehr skeptisch und habe lange überlegt ob ich für dieses Game 60 Euro auf den Tisch lege. Nach mittlerweile knapp 50 Stunden Spielzeit muss ich sagen, das es sich gelohnt hat.Es ist zwar keine Sim und auch kein direkter Nachfolger von PC2, so Arcadelastig wie in vielen Reviews ist es aber längst nicht. Vergleiche mit NFS, The Crew oder sonstiges sind mMn völlig daneben. Zwar lassen sich einige Autos mit eingeschalteten Hilfen relativ einfach Fahren, man ist damit aber definitiv deutlich langsamer. Ich habe in den oberen Rankings jedenfalls noch nicht viele gesehen, die mit ESP,TC etc. fahren. Genau so sollte es sein. Ohne Hilfen fahren sich die meisten Autos nahezu wie in PC2, einige sogar identisch. Würde das Spiel von der Fahrphysik irgendwo zwischen PC2 und GT Sport einordnen. Wer eine knallharte Sim zocken möchte, hat genug Alternativen auf dem Markt. Alle anderen werden mit PC3 ihren Spaß haben. Als ich hier das erste mal gelesen habe, was für ein Spiel Project Cars 3 werden soll war ich schwer enttäuscht. Ich, als großer Fan von PC 2, sollte nun ein weiteres Forza, The Crew oder noch schlimmeres bekommen, statt einer würdigen Fortsetzung von PC 2...
Nachdem ich den Schock verarbeitet habe (gibt ja genug anderes an Simulationen), habe ich mich ein wenig mit dem Thema beschäftigt und mir auch ein paar Youtubes von Spielern (nicht von Grafit-Technik-Kritikern) angeschaut. Naja, probieren geht über studieren und ich muss sagen; Project Cars 3 macht Spaß ;D
Ich spiele mit dem XBox Elite Controller und es geht ganz gut. Zumindest in der Außenansicht und wenn man möglichst alle Fahrhilfen abschaltet. Mit eingeschalteten Fahrhilfen greift das Programm zu sehr in die Steuerung ein. Lenkrad/Pedal-Steuerung habe ich noch nicht getestet, passt auch nicht zu so einem Spaß-Fahrspiel.
Es gibt jede Menge neue Strecken und vieles was ich von PC 2 kenne, was sich als angenehmer Mix herausstellt. Neben dem großen Karriere-Modus werden täglich, wöchentlich und monatlich zeitlich begrenzte Rivalen-Events mit einer gewissen Herausforderung angeboten. Dazu kommt noch ein Multiplayermodus.

Schön ist, dass sich PC 2 und PC 3 prima zusammen auf einer Festplatte vertragen und ergänzen!
Als PC 2 im Jahr 2017 herauskam habe ich den Vorgänger noch am gleichen Tag deinstalliert. Er war überflüssig geworden.

Eine gelungene Mischung aus Sim- und Arcade! Gerade in der Gruppe im Multiplayer ein riesen Spaß.
Lästig sind einige Bugs, bitte dringend nachbessern!

Ansonsten klare Empfehlung für alle die ein Zwischending zwischen Hardcore Simulation und Arcade Racer wollen! Für die anderen gibt es Iracing, Assetto Corsa etc.

Habe die anderen Teile zwar nicht gespielt, aber Project Cars 3 ist schlecht.
Das Handling ist unter aller sau. Die Grafik ist für 2020 eher schlecht.
Die KI ist echt miserabel. Stur und Strak. Bei den Meisterschaften war es so das im zweiten und im dritten Rennen die Anpassungen am Fahrzeug anders waren, also Standard. Das interface ähnelt einem Handy spiel.
Die Cockpit perspektive war auch eher unschön.

Jeder hat seine eigene meinung aber ich kann das Spiel nicht empfehlen.

Project Cars gekauft, Need for Speed bekommen. Das Spiel hat sich so weit von einer Simulation entfernt, wie es nur geht.
OK, der dritte Teil wollte mit Absicht mehr arcadiger sein. Darüber hätte man vielleicht hinwegsehen können, wenn die Optik von Teil 2 zu 3 kein Rückschritt gewesen wäre und von der KI der Kontrahenten will ich erst garnicht anfangen! Erinnert mehr an einen Kirmes-Auto-Scooter. Dazu kommen die ständigen Spielabstürze. ForceFeedback ist so gut wie nicht vorhanden.
Zusammengefasst:
Es kommt mir so vor, als wenn die Entwickler einfach nur schnell irgendwas auf den Markt werfen wollten. Alle Kernkompetenzen der Reihe sind spurlos verschwunden.

Thoroughly enjoyable arcade racer, yes it feels slow to begin with but persist a little and the better cars soon open up. Handling is good, AI is good, graphics are really good, A+ from me!

The graphics are respectable, but the overall driving could use some improvement. Tuning is limited when compared to a game like Forza Motorsport 4, which was release in the mid 2000s. The AI are overly aggressive, maybe not when compared to players, but still. The first official race in campaign is full of AI just slamming their cars into you and not thinking twice. Regardless of whether or not you play with or without other players, there is no such thing as clean racing in this game. AI will even spin each other out.

I really tried to like this game but failed. The cars move like they are top-heavy. The difficulty is all over the place. The anti-aliasing sucks so the graphics take a hit. Skip this one and move on. Play Automobilista 2 instead

The emptiest racing game available - Don't waste your time and money.
The cars handle like rubbish, the whole game feels very amateur.

If you want a great arcade racer, go for Dirt 5 or Forza Horizon 5. They are great racing games, this is not!

I am going to start this review by saying that I am going to ignore the fact that this game is not a Project Cars game but an NFS shift type of game.

Alright, let’s start with what’s good about this game. This game has a variety of game modes, not only racing. The game has a lot of cars, some not even appearing in other games. Graphics are okay, nothing bad to say about performance either. The car interiors are very detailed. The car physics are okay, they are mostly sim-arcade but you can easily get the hang of them. Aaaand that is all for the most part. That’s all that is good about this game. The main problem that this game has it’s the progression system. Why do you get money only after you level up? What’s the point of having this huge variety of cars if you can’t experience most of them because of the bad progression system? Cars are expensive and you get money after leveling up, not after finishing a race like ALL THE OTHER RACING GAMES. Another thing, affected by the bad progression system, is the fact that you can get soft locked if you’re not too careful with your money. That’s right! You need money to purchase cars, but if you don’t have money to purchase the required car for an event, you can’t play the event. That makes you need to repeat and repeat the same race just to level up. The thing is, level-up rewards are absolute garbage! You’ll need to repeat the same race just to level up multiple times so you can get into the next event. Another thing is, why do A.I. cars behave on snow like on asphalt? Why can A.I. just push other objects onto your car and invalidate your lap time? It doesn’t make any sense.

What a shame, since I enjoyed this game, for the most part, the maps are beautiful, the cars are detailed but the questionable design choices ruined it for me.

Janky game. Can't even set video settings until after your first shitty race. Got to play on a quarter of my TV ???? These guys did F1 2021 which is soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much better... Not sure how they managed to so effectively ruin PCars.

25 hours is good enough to review a racing game right?
Graphics are dull and unimpressive, the way money is handled in the game puts you in a constant limbo of limited choices and makes it a chore to go through, handling made every surface an ice ring and the opponent AI is an unfair fight.
Who thought any of this is a good idea?

This is frankly one of the most miserable racing games that I've ever played. On paper, it was meant to be a sequel to the NFS Shift games. In practice, it's a mix of questionable design choices and poor execution that result in a game that pleases nobody.

- The AI is overly aggressive regardless of settings.
- The load times before races are unreasonably long (two minutes in a SSD).
- The economy feels like they balanced it around a premium currency that doesn't exist, so you're grinding forever to afford anything. You don't earn money by winning races, only when leveling up.
- Career mode forces you to buy specific cars, so if you can't afford them because of the above issue you better get back to grinding.
- Road car classes are unbalanced and the performance upgrade increases have no real rhyme or reason.
- Pace Setter events require way too much precision for an arcade racer, since letting one tire go an inch out of the track voids your entire run and some events are over 8 minutes long, and your overall time is based on your average time, not your best lap. They are also pretty much mandatory in career mode and their goal times are fixed regardless of difficulty.

Just about the only positive thing I can think of is that it has a few cars that haven't appeared anywhere else to date, but given that everything about the game is so poorly done (besides the arcade handling), you can live without them and without this game.

TL;DR - if you’re a car enthusiast, this game is dope AF. If you’re looking for more of a competitive esports experience or true motorsports experience, I can see how this game could disappoint.

I don’t usually review games, but when I do it’s because I got duped by reviews. I’m a long time car enthusiast who loves buying and modding cars, tracks regularly, but has no interest in real life w2w racing. Even if I did, my wife would divorce me and take the kids. So I have a good sim setup instead. PC2 has been great for scratching that itch. Really terrific game in my opinion. I was excited for PC3 when it was released, but then the reviews came in and I passed. Recently decided to give it a go anyway since it was on sale, and man do I wish I had bought it sooner.

The progressive acquisition of cars and upgrades is well done. Rewards aren’t too quick to accumulate which makes decisions meaningful. If you spend most of your day thinking about what cars/mods your next real paycheck is going towards, then deciding whether you’re going to run a C8 vs 911 vs GT-R vs NSX for C class is going to feel ridiculously satisfying.

Driving dynamics are less realistic than PC2, but I personally think the balance they struck between arcade and sim feels good. Oversteer and weight transfer in PC2 are more difficult than actually being on track, which I attribute to not being able to feel what the car is doing. With all assists off in PC3, driving feels fun. More forgiving than on track but doesn’t punish you for not being able to feel when a front corner is loaded up.

The exclusion of things like tire wear and pits is I think the right decision for this game as well. NO ONE on track likes having to throttle back for tire wear. If one of your tires starts chunking on a track day, it sucks. Full stop. I’m not saying tire strategy isn’t interesting in motorsports. I think it is. But getting to just run your best lap in the car you picked and built is more fun.

I do think they left some potential on the table, like acquiring sponsors, meaningful tire/rim choices, visually representing aero changes, etc. But if you’re a car enthusiast, modder, track junkie, etc. you’re going to have a good time. Both PC2 and 3 are great games IMO. In a perfect world they would continue to support and update both with modern cars and racing teams. If I had to personally pick one though? It would be PC3.

A pay to win mobile game trapped in a AAA game. Almost plays exactly like real racing 3 on mobile. Incredibly hard to make money and you dont have the freedom to buy whatever car you want because you need to keep completing career goals to make decent money and so many goals are locked behind a specific car.

Not worthy of being called a Project cars game
This is just an Arcade racer ,there isnt any of the Sim left.
Cars look great and love the tuning parts but.....
Physics are really bad.
Only driveable with a controller.
Ai is really bad and drive like there on rails.

Dont buy this version of Project Cars just stay with Project Cars 2.

Project CARS 3 really doesn't deserve the hate that it has received on Steam.

The review bombing is based purely off of the fact that this is a Project CARS game and not the game itself. I understand that the first two Project CARS games were heavy on the simulation aspects, whereas Project CARS 3 is much more lenient. As a longtime fan of the Project Gotham Racing Series as well as Forza Motorsport and Gran Turismo, I have enjoyed the few hours that I have logged into this game so far. My biggest regret is not buying the deluxe edition at $28 and instead purchasing the standard edition which I thought I would be able to upgrade to the deluxe edition later on, however that does not seem to be the case (the DLC is in no way necessary to enjoy the game). I am loving every second of it so far, all of the cars sound fantastic with both exhaust sounds and engine sounds being accurately portrayed. The arcade aspect is why I purchased this game. The racing still seems very tight and sim-like but more in the sense of a Need for Speed Shift x Project Gotham Racing mashup. There are tons of tracks to play, with a single player career mode being prevalent in this game. It's a pretty standard career where you climb up the ranks as a street racer with some decent cutscenes and voice overs thrown in that don't get annoying. I have yet to try the multiplayer mode, but from what I've seen on YouTube it seems pretty decent - I cannot speak on the current player count or the various online modes. Wheel support works wonderfully in this game. Tight, responsive, and plenty of settings to fine-tune. If it's on sale, get it. If it's full price, you can probably find it somewhere else for cheaper. It's a fantastic game and the price is well worth it, but if I can help anyone save money I'm going to! Still worth full price though in my opinion, except maybe the DLC. With the DLC vehicles you still have to purchase them in-game, giving you something to work for which I can appreciate instead of being handed OP vehicles in the beginning. As I stated in the beginning of this review, a glaring reason that this game has a mixed review status on Steam, as well as multiple negative reviews across YouTube and other platforms is the fact that it's not true to its roots. If you know that going into the game, you will have tons of fun with it and it has potential to become one of your favorite arcade racers as it has become mine. It really does bring me back to the days of my old Xbox playing Project Gotham Racing 2 up late on summer nights.

TL;DR

Definitely worth it for the average racing fan. Scratches both itches, Arcade and Sim.

As someone who's never played Project Cars 1 or 2, I wanted to give PC3 a chance as Forza Motorsport 7 is now officially dead.

I am incredibly unimpressed. I was railroaded into two races before I was even able to get to the main menu to fix many issues at had at bootup. The driving feels very drifty, no matter what assists I have on or off. Multiplayer is absolutely dead.

Overall I suggest you stay away from this game.

Glad I stuck with the game through the early stages. Further in you get the more of the real world circuits you start seeing and the more grippy and fun the cars become. Just have to make it through that slog of a beginning on those silly town tracks with cars that feel like their floating.

There is a decent game in here, you just have to get to it.

Got the game for cheap but definitely not worth the $90 AUD they're usually asking.

+ Plays well with controller/gamepad
+ Solid selection of tracks and vehicles
- AI can be inconsistent. They have insane amounts of grip at some high speed sections but pose little challenge elsewhere. Turning up AI aggression can be frustrating since they're happy to ram you off the track
- UI reminded me of mobile racing games
- Slightly nitpicking but have noticed spelling errors and weird voice lines (game still congratulating me for winning my first championship more than halfway into my career). Doesn't affect gaming experience but indicates a lack of effort.

Absolutely horrid, game crashes with plugged in Wheel (G29), I can't change settings because I am forced to complete some bullshit race which makes first impressions absolutely fucking terrible.

Just glad I didn't waste much money on this junk through humble bundle.

Sim/Arcade Player Review

I previously owned PC1 and PC2 for which i had a full playseat and steering wheel setup. Both of those games were great especially as a member of an online competitive racing league.

Fast forward 5 or so years, i have children now and the racing rig has been retired so sim racing is now out of the window in exchange for solid sim/arcade racers i can pick up and play with a controller.

Pro's

- Graphics are good
- Sounds are good
- Career mode is fun
- Progression feels rewarding
- Car tuning after buying parts upgrade is solid
- Handling with controller is spot on
- Rivals mode (daily, weekly, monthly hot lap challenges) is great
- Multiplayer event scheduling is a great idea but see cons

Con's

- They should have called it something else to avoid the backlash
- Multiplayer is dead due to low player numbers (such a shame as best mp setup i have seen in any racing game with scheduled events with skill based match making)
- Only earning money for levelling up was odd at first but i got used to it

Wish I got this game sooner

I highly recommend this game to any one a fan of the early Forza games circa Forza 3, 4, 5. Also if you are a fan of Gran Turismo. This game for me is like a modern version of my favourite racing games with all the great features before racing games became all about collecting digital fame points and attending stupid kid friendly festivals.

Project Cars 3 is a solid sim/arcade racer and i regret not buying it earlier based on the mixed reviews.

One of my favorite racing games.I don't care what people think about it.if you hate it thats you.Some of the best DLC i have played.i'm not a super car fan but on this game the Zonda's and cars like that i love them on PC3.It looks good and sound good too.The Free tracks are fun too.in all a great game.

This is just sooo much fun. I have been sim racing for over 20 years, this game is not a sim but, IT IS, a whole lot of casual racing, fun. Its not perfect but it is Fun and somewhat challenging. IMO
Heaps of cars, tracks, weather and an interesting progression theme.
Currently on sale in Australia. best $25 dollars i have spent during Covid Aussie lockdown. LoL

Constantly enables and disables my microphone for no reason and I have to switch the audio output after every race cause the game decides I'm gonna listen through my speakers instead of my headphones.
Graphics are also underwhelming for a 2020 game.

It looks like it was made back in 2010 PS3 era. Even on 4k ultra the game lacks details. GUI looks awful and music is bad.
I thought that it cannot be that bad as people says, but I was wrong.
Luckily I spent only 10€ on that game.

No, no and once more - no. DO NOT BUY IT.

Reason: even after a year since release it is still an unfinished product, that requires a lot of babysitting to make it run properly.
-the framerate ranges anywhere from 30 to 200 FPS. And any program running in background or on a second monitor will run like ass because this game bottlenecks someting in a system. CPU and GPU can be loaded lower than 50%, yet programs on my second monitor and OBS run at 5 FPS.
-there is a shit load of graphical glithes and the game looks ugly as sin. TAA is broken, some special effects look wrong, there is a lot of flickering in the shadows and lighting.
-ALT+F4 doesn't work. This is a huge sin on its own.
-If ingame resolution is different from the monitor resolution, then if you click outside the game's window it will switch permanently to windowed mode. And because ALT+Enter doesn't work you can only fix that by restarting the game.

List of problems can be endless, but I have to be honest: underneath all of this there is a fun arcade racer with very cool and deep phisycs engine. It breakes my heart to see this project doomed to be forever unfinished.

You will absolutely love this game if you liked SHIFT 2 Unleashed and Race Driver GRID from 2007, or other similar arcade Codemasters titles - this game is huge improvement over these titles. If this game would be called SHIFT 3 or GRID 2020 instead of Project Cars it would have over 80% positive reviews.

Just don't expect a simulation.

I REALLY want to enjoy this game! I truly do, but the fake rubber band A.I. and their physics defying tires means you're not racing on equal level... and that not good for someone who prefer offline racing...

If you don't mind the A.I. gaining a unfair boost of speed then this game is alright. The car customization is great!

NOTE: This game was given to me for free, I enjoyed it for the first 10 hours, but racing against the A.I. is no fun and the online multiplayer is pretty much dead...

I really wanted to like this game. I really tried to like this game. The graphics are gorgeous and the VR engine may be the best I've experienced in a racing game. I also thought the markers for braking/apex/exit was a cool alternative to a racing line, even though it's a strange decision for a mainstream game to make it less accessible to novices.

The AI are very aggressive, which can be engaging and challenging. But when you have a 26 car race on a two-lane course, start at the back, and only progress in the game if you take a podium finish, and all the other drivers will even knock you off the road, and the game will penalize you for avoiding them... it's just infuriating. The penalty system is absolutely broken. Oh, and the physics... I don't know what exactly feels off, but they managed to make an R34 Skyline feel like it's barely connecting to the road.

I barely played and don't remember PC1 or 2. I came in excited to try this game. My mind wasn't clouded by expectations, but I have given up trying to like this game.

Want an arcade racer where first place takes overly aggressive and borderline evil driving?

Want AI that rubberband like they've got 150 more HP than u?

Want a car tuning system that seems to BARELY do anything to the car per the previous game?

BOY DO I HAVE THE PRODUCT FOR YOU.

FR tho. How did SMS manage to make an arcade game feel bad? They made NFS shift. They say this game is a successor in spirit, but it DOESNT FEEL LIKE IT AT ALL. I actually feel like tire traction isn't stretchy, the downforce feels weak per my speed losses a lot. All the best tracks are gone including spa and le mans, (i think, haven't SEEN le mans in there...) only to drop most the cars from previous game for generic race versions that all use technological LCD displays no racer would use today.

Where's the GT3? Why's the customization so lackluster? Why are paint visuals so limited yet look pixelated? This was a game that succeeded it's predicessor by 10 YEARS. And it feels worse than PC1?

I've played many arcade racing games, and sim cades for sure.

I've played some pretty hardcore sims and driven in real life.

Nothing feels like this game, and honestly, it wouldn't be a bad thing if the AI wasn't colin mcrae.

This game is getting a lot of flack from hardcore racing sim people, but as someone who is the complete opposite, I think it's pretty terrible as well. The handling and assists are awful, the physics are idiotic, the selection of cars is pathetic, there's no way to learn circuits and they don't let you rewind, there's no beginner-friendly guides or racing lines or anything. So if both ends of the spectrum hate it, where the hell does that leave this game?

It's completely different from PC1 & PC2 because they went for a more casual racing experience, so yea it's no longer a racing sim.
That's probably why the game received lot of backlash as fans felt betrayed.
IMO they should have branded it with a different name because it's not really Project Cars anymore.

I'm playing with all assists off (except abs on at times) and it's still more arcade than sim.
To give you an idea I'd say the game is something like 65% arcade and 35% sim (with all assist turned off).
Still i really enjoy the game so far, the controls and physics feels like a mix between NFS Shift and Forza, so not bad at all.
Project CARS 3 is already a lot more fun and playable on controller for me compared to PC 2 which was almost unplayable with a controller.
The physics are better compared to PC2, same for the controls, more fun to play and faster than the previous game, at least for me.
The graphics are pretty nice too, it runs really well on my pc with almost everything on ultra.
Content wise there's tons of cars and many great tracks to drive on.

Only thing i really dislike is how the upgrades system works during the career mode...
Honestly it's a pain to manage and it's really annoying having to pay to upgrade or downgrade each times for the cars.
Once bought you do not keep the parts forever, if the car is too powerful for some events, then you have to downgrade and pay again that's a joke and a terrible game design decision right there.

All in all it's not perfect but i think it's a pretty decent and very enjoyable racing game if you know what your buying.
I'd recommend it on sale though, probably not worth paying full price (i bought deluxe edition for 19,99€ fyi well worth it.)
Trust me I've been playing racing games for 30+ years by now and this game is far from as bad as some people want you to believe.

If you have done a bit of research on the game and looked at all the reviews and comments about the game you've probably seen that they say the game is so much of arcade racing game and has abandoned the simulation gameplay and style of the first 2 games.

AND... They are right.

This game is almost nothing like the first two. And that's in terms of gameplay (physics, career, etc.) and Style (menus, xp gaining, credit to buy cars, etc.). I don't even know why the game is called project cars 3. It is so different! Even a developper has said that the game was a succesor of some arcady racing title i dont remember (something like need for speed). BUT, IT DOES NOT MEAN THAT THE GAME IS BAD.

Actually, i like the game. It has a totally different approach but still has a lot of fun and gameplay to offer. Good and long campaign, still good physics (if you disable all the assists you can achieve a decently realistic experience), Amazing graphics, multiplayer, custom races, garage, etc. The cons of this game are, for me, its too long menus animations after races like xp gain that you cant skip, and the xp and credits.

SO, should you buy the game? it depends. If you prefer way better the simulation side of pc1 and pc2 over arcade games , maybe its not for you. Or at least wait for a discount. If you don't want to manage the Tyre Temperatures, Tyre Pressures, Tyre Compounds, Break Temperatures, Break Pressures, Brake Pads, Fuel, In-depth Setup changes, Car Electronics, then I suggest you pick this up.

It is great fun to drive around when you don't want to think/manage those variables. Some people may find it annoying, but to me, when I feel like relaxing and racing mindlessly, I find it fun. At being an arcade, PC3 is very well made.

My career has ended because I ran out of money to downgrade. My game is unplayable and my experience is ruined. Please make downgrades free. Please make upgrading to upgrades you have ALREADY purchased free. It's not rocket science here people. If you want to do rocket science go to NASA because you obviously forgot how to make a game. The first 2 were way better.

After having my sim wheel for a little over a month now, and having played multiple sim games, this one is one of my least favorite for using a wheel. Using a controller feels fine, but this game has a similar issue to FH4 and FM7 when using a wheel where you start to lose traction, you spin out and have absolutely no chance to save it. It also has a rather dead feeling when steering. Force feedback doesn't come from the tires or suspension, but from what I can gather it only activates when going fast around 5th/6th gear+ where it just vibrates left and right. There is also a steering deadzone that persists despite having that setting turned down to zero. All in all, would recommend if you just play casually on a controller, would not recommend casually with a wheel.

After deleting it from my hard disk twice in the past I gave it a chance for the VR functionality after upgrading my PC and I discovered that this is my most favorite game to date and I have them all (almost). In order to fully enjoy the game you need a proper PC like the specs says, set it to ultimate graphics but not the maximum resolution in order to get the maximum possible.

WOW, I LOVE driving games (have a TS300 wheel) and have bought, over the years, most of them. I love sims like AC and ACC, Rfactor, Automobolistia, and also really enjoy the dirt series and WRC as well. In addition I really do like the more arcade driving games like Forza, Dirt 4, GRID and Flatout. I have loved them all in a way. I also loved project cars 1 and 2. So I thought this game could not be as bad as the reviews were saying, after all it was developed by Slightly Mad Studios who know how to put out a solid product, right? Well this game is shockingly bad on almost every level and I have been so upset to have wasted my money on it. I could not initially figure out what had happened to the developers to have caused such a dramatic step backward in quality. I have kept playing this game in the hopes that I have not discovered the 'niche' that they were seeking only to now realize that both this game and Dirt 5 (which is also remarkably disappointing) were victims of a hasty and greedy rolllout that ignored quality in the hopes of grabbing early new generation consoles sales for the Playstation 5 and xbox series x. Both these games are horrible, do not buy them! On a positive note I am hoping these developers now will return to form with their next releases. I guess lesson learned - never buy a game within 6 months of a new console generation release if the reviews are bad no matter what your past experience is with the developer. We should also start holding the leads on these projects accountable like we would a director on a bad movie, Kris Pope and Mike Moreton I am talking about you, shame for putting your names on this trash.

People should manage their expectations: Project Cars 3 is no simulation, and it clearly doesn't want to be one. It fits right between arcade and simulation, with a tendency towards sim. That would explain a lot of the negative reviews, and honestly, the decision to name it PC3 wasn't a very good one. If you look at it that way, it's probably the best product of it's kind on the market. I have to concede that the game is prone to framedrops, but once you've set up the options according to your system's performance, it's running smooth.

You can play it really well with a pad, something I missed sorely in PC1 and PC2. The game feels responsive, no sluggishness whatsoever. I like the great choice of cars, though it sadly can't compare to the variety of vehicles of Forza Horizon 4, but the cars feel more distinctive to drive plus there are real race tracks - Nordschleife anyone? I like the presentation as well, which is not as pseudo-hip and crappy as NfS Heat or FH4. And it supports VR, which the other mentioned games lack.

After all, this is a good, but not crazy cool game. The deluxe edition is pricey, €90 is too steep for this amount of recycled content, especially, if you own the game's predecessors. That actually seems a bit greedy to me. But if you're looking for something in the middle between FH4 and Asetto Corsa, or something not too arcady which you can comfortably play with a pad, this might be your choice despite the surely profound criticism. If you're a die-hard simulation freak who has petrol-soaked cloths lying on the table for that bit of extra realism, move along. If you need something to race from the couch with your friends and hate the presentation and arcady handling of FH4 and NfS Heat, this could make you happy. If you're in doubt, give it a try when it's on sale.

If you ever played the old Forza Motorsport games like Motorsport 3 & 4 and liked them, this game is the perfect choice for you! This game is fun, I had to disable all of the assists cause they were a little strong. But the visuals are really good, the game feels good and this offers me the vibe of the old motorsport games without all the new ultra realism/simulation style game play.

If your expecting a PC2 type game then forget it. its nothing like PC2. In PC2 it was more a simulator, and a very very good job they did too i might add. PC3 is more like race driver grid. very arcadey imo, they seem to have taken a step backwards and tried to make the game playable for everyone and please the majority of causal racer players. i suspect that the more people they attract the more money they make and by making it less of a sim and more like arcade the more people are gonna buy it and play.

The car models are nicely done (then again what race game cant achieve that these days?) but the scenery details are horrible. they look like something you might see 10yrs ago. drab, undramatic, poor textures etc

i havent got much time on the game yet so this is only a prelimary review and i may change it as time goes on.
if you liked PC2 dont buy PC3 youll be let down

EDIT:
ok, so i found another issue and im afraid its negative again. im now up into C class cars, im using an aston martin. sadly when your doing 170mph there really is no sense of speed. it feels exactly the same as 100mph.
Also, the handling is still exactly the same i.e the slightest touch of the steering is very light, a car should feel much stiffer to turn at high speeds. this game seems to have not included that.

Project CARS 3 feels like GRID (2019) and Gran Turismo 2,3 and 4 for me:

Pros:
+ many cars from many different car manufacturers (not as much as it could be to make it more like GT)
+ a lot of tracks the diversity was good (not as much as it could be to make it more like GT)
+ some cars feels quit special for me in this game
+ the carrer mode is ok the 3 gamemodes next to racing are fun
+ driving physics are for me good enought
+ graphics feels good if they would optimize the game a bit more
+ rival mode is fun for a short time
+ photo mode is very good in this game
+ the weather system is nice especially in rain races when puddles form on the track during a long race
+ livery editor is ok to change the rims, tires, paintwork, car plates with any name in color and other things

Cons:
- the score system to get money feels bad you get to few money for level up or it would be better to get money for winning races i have to much money problems sometimes in the carrer and need to grind money in custom races
- long loading times needs way to long to load a race other racing games makes it better
- few cars have a horrible over/understeer problem
- the weather effects like rain are in some tracks glitchy
- the thunder and lighting needs a extra restart from the race to get it to work
- screen freeze in Doyonata, Indiapolis oval tracks at high rounds like 14-16 sometimes also in 25 or 26 but it feels random after round 13
- the game also has lags on some tracks and the game has to be optimized more in some tracks and also the weather effects
- the Ai/bots have a difficult problem in some tracks they are drive to fast and in other tracks to slow they really need to balance the Ai/bots more in the tracks

The game have many neagtive stuff but its still fun to play for me.

Really disappointed in this game. Project cars 1 and 2 was designed to be simcades with the majority of the focus beeeing on simulation. They were really enjoyable. Project cars 3 turned out to be a generic racing game that had more in common with Driveclub/Need for speed shift series/Forza motorsport in order to reach out to a wider audience. It is sad to see the developers aim more towards moneymaking than making the already rather large community satisfied.

Pros
Arcade - Almost everyone can pick this game and learn it in a couple hours.
Wide array of cars, all from ordinary road cars to hypercars and GT-cars
Wide array of tracks and different combinations
Dynamic day and weather
Upgrades - Mostly noncosmetic, but they have recovered the 'Works conversion' from the Need for speed Shift series (SMS developed that game) which upgrades your car to a GT-kind of monster

Cons
Graphics/style - Looks more like an mobile game with its dull graphics and bright colours, a downgrade from previous installments
Handling - Dumbed down to make it easier
Career mode - Everyone has a different opinion but this career mode is like Forza or NFS Shift. You start in a road car and grind your way up with money
Races - Usually you don't even have to finish on podium, you have certain goals instead such as pass x number of cars during race or slipstream for x seconds. This is what gives you money and unlockes more races
Damage and tyre wear - There is none, you can't even access the pits to change your tires when it is raining
Penalties/Rules - For a game that has lost the majority of its realism it is stubborn enough to have the almost the same rules as before when you cut the track by one inch. It slows you down to about 50 km/h (30 mph). Feels rather misplaced in an silly arcade game as this has become
Sound - Downgrade from previous titles
A.I - As of now, the A.I sees the other racecars more like bumpercars, they don't have the same handling model as you and is sometimes unaffected by water. I.e, I was behind a racer in the rain when he ran through a puddle, I was easy on the gas and still spun out, altough he didn't. Since the devs even have claimed that a car in front of you will push the water away I call bullshit on this
Not interesting - It is not on the same level of detailed racing as the more advanced simcades nor is it as easy to love as Gran turismo or Forza motorsport. It falls in between those categories. I have played both GT and Forza for many hours without getting bored, in this game 3 hours was more than enough

Verdict
Not neccessarily a bad game, its easy to pick up and will be familiar to the most of the players. It is not as realistic as Project cars 2 or Need for speed shift. This should have been a spun off or a succesor to Driveclub. The biggest flaw is its name since the game is so far from the previous 2

Even if you are an arcade racer you should wait on at least 50 percent discount, there are better games for the amount of money this game cost.

I have hundreds and hundreds of hours on all the big name sims such as ...Assetto corsa, ACC, Raceroom..Projectcars 2 and automobilista 2 and more.....This is not even in the same class with these sadly .Every car feels like your just skating around on the track or floating on it.There is no immersion what so ever with this game.One would think that a car like a AMG mercedes GTR 3 car would drive different than a cheap road car but they are not that much different..I have triple 27 curved monitors and everything does line up well but your constantly have the feeling your FOV is off. Everything from setting changes such as FOV settings or changing seat positions is a total joke or missing all together. Save your money and stay away from this game....My honest opinion would be to buy both Asett corsa competizione and automobilista 2......ACC being more refined than automobilista 2 but less content focusing on only GT cars but very well done. Automobilista 2 has a much larger car selection but a little less refined with alot of different car classes.Best of both worlds in my opnion..

Overall the game is fun if you can get passed its main issues.

The graphics are a big downgrade from project cars 2 and can be difficult to get passed as the game looks at least 5-6 years old.
The game is poorly optimised and can tank in FPS from moment to moment.

The gameplay and upgrade features is great and a step upwards, the support from controller is way better.

A good game but difficult to love.

Okay. So this game is getting a lot of heat, and I can understand the frustration with those of you who are upset by the change of direction/demographic this game is targeting. The problem, however, is that SMS probably made this decision based on the fact that sim players were never satisfied with the offerings from Project Cars so with experience in creating more user friendly racing games (NFS) why wouldn't they take a stab at appealing to a more casual audience? In my opinion, this is the kind of game needed to fill the Forza Motorsport hole that has been empty for a couple years. Being able to experience the world of Project Cars as a more casual player is actually great. The amount of hate being thrown around is the reason why the gaming industry is in the state it's in. Slightly Mad isn't out to steal your money, they're trying to make a fun game while constantly being harassed by consumers who simply cannot be satisfied.

You don't make money per race, instead you make money for leveling up, which obviously isn't every race. I find this annoying, not fun, and very arcade like. I would much rather make money per race and have maintenance costs, etc...

There are several dialog screens after each race which you have to load and finish animations before you can skip, a better idea would have been to combine all results, and exp gained in one window.

Car customization is very restricted, no layering decals, no moving decal position/rotation, not even sure about color, and performance upgrades feel very arcade like.

You have to pay to downgrade performance parts, so if you upgrade your car to the next class without realizing (like a lot of new players have done, from reading online, me included) you have to level up in custom race until you make enough money to downgrade your car enough to continue story mode, which seams very pointless and drudgy.

Tuning before a race could explain a little more for newer players.

I love Project Cars 2. I still race everyday online.

I hate Project Cars 3. It was the worst game I ever purchased and the most disappointing 4 hours in my simracing career.

Don't buy this for multiplayer as it is completely dead. Don't buy this for VR if you are thinking it will be like Pcars2. SMS managed to destroy the world class VR support they had with Pcars2. The game still has a VR crash bug now after 3 months that the developers refuse to work with their customers to fix. Don't hope for much in fixes as the developers are slow to fix things and are arrogant and condescending when you bring up all the games problems. They demand you fill out bug reports which they refuse to read. The rivals mode is dominated be cheaters who the devs refuse to do anything about. Avoid this game and anything from them in the future.

As a fan of this series although I've heard all the negative about it and hoped that regardless other what others say, maybe I'll like it. I also play Forza and GT as well and enjoy those a lot so I figure maybe SMS' take on a Sim/Arcade racer would be nice. I've only played for for about 40 minutes and I already am done with this game. I'm highly disappointed in what they have done with this game, It's not fun to play at all with a wheel, the force feedback is voted muted to the point where you can't even tell what is going on with the car.

From what they done with the previous two games, this seems like a very unnecessary departure from what they were getting really good at making, a racing sim filled with all different types of sports cars. If you like PC1 and PC2 don't waste your time with this. If you haven't played racing sims but enjoy racing games, you might enjoy this one. But Even if you enjoy something like Forza or GT, this is a much lesser game.

As others have said, this is a departure from the rest of the series. The sad thing is though it's not fun at all. The physics feel off, there's constant errors whenever you try to apply decals (decals change all the time without your input), and it's just dumbed down in an almost insulting manner. If this was some sort of Gran Turismo/Forza Horizon hybrid that would be one thing, but its not at all. Basically if you want an arcade racer, play Forza Horizon or Grid. If you want a sim racer, play Project Cars 2 or iRace. With so many other better options available there is really no reason to play this.

I have no idea what the developers were thinking. The game loaded and immediately threw me into a race a-la Forza with no way to skip. As soon as the race loaded, my Fanatec wheel stopped working and I had no way to drive or enter the menu to configure anything. No other game has this issue and it completely prevents me from playing, which I guess is just as well because apparently it's an arcade game now? Refunded.

I really wish there was a neutral rating on steam because that's where I'm at. I don't love it, I don't hate it.

This game was created for the Formula 1 Race Stewards, who enjoy penalizing every enthusiastic and natural racer who dare to have a crack at the limits, even if they don't actually gain time by it.
Oh no... silly me. It was created BY those stewards...

Seriously, it wouldn't be bad. My first racing game was NFS: PU, so I can enjoy this style of semi-arcade, economy and career based game. But bumping my head all the time in stupid and unfair penalties, lap times deleted... fun ruined.
The biggest charge against the developers is that there is no way turning it off.

Full od stupid bugs, intentional or not. The guys coming from behind pass me as if I was a ghost car, but I crash into them once I try to overtake them?... Come on...
There was and is much more in this game, and hopefully it is going to evolve into the state what it deserves.
I gave thumbs down because it was clearly rushed into selling, and the price is way over what it is worth right now.
Sadly.

This game just sabotaged all the Project CARS fans out of nowhere.
People got baited because of the name, and in the end, we got -this-.
A rather arcady game, with one of the worst AI I've seen, not to mention the challenges aren't letting you race at all sometimes, as they require me to slow down even with the highest AI settings, just to do them.
What kind of racing game is where you have to sabotage your own lap to complete a challenge?
The AI turns like they are on a railway, but if they touch you, you're done, especially in rain.
Maybe it's just me, but however accurately I try to shift, they always gain on me while I do so, as if they didn't have to shift at all, but they're like roadblocks in corners. Another thing is that they can just send their car into corners without sliding out, but if I break in time, I just get overtaken because they just don't even have to break.. I could break later, if I could upgrade my car comfortably.
But you can't even upgrade your car properly, as then you make that car unable to compete in what you bought it for, because the performance level gets too big too quickly with the tiniest of upgrades.

Tl;dr: The game is rushed and really arcade, the AI is trash and unfair, not scaling properly with the difficulty settings, the upgrade system and career wasn't thought out, the menu looks like a mobile game, and the graphics sometimes make me want to stab my eyes out in 2020 for such a game

There are many Sim racers out there, all of which i am extremely fond of. I am by no means an avid Sim racer, i just love the challenge these racers offer, subjective realism and handling that all claim to be better than the rest.
My 60 or so hours in PC2 have mostly been hot lapping as i wasn't drawn to the career, to be frank it was crap. Every race same car, different weather, rinse and repeat.
PC3 on the other hand has kept me fully engaged within the career mode for the 6 hours i've had so far, you can mix it up, different cars with different set ups and upgrades.
One thing i feel this is doing well is forcing me to rethink my upgrades depending on what race or challenge i am doing, each race requires a certain class of vehicle so this is quite challenging, we all want full on speed but the handling really matters and this is completely apparent for many of the races i've done so far.

Playing with my Thrustmaster wheel is an absolute blast.

Call this what you will, ill call it fun and leave it at that :)

This game is a fucking joke to the point where you have to wonder if any actual palytesting went into at any point. Yeah, there are a lot of different tracks and some awesome cars, but that's about where it ends.The singleplayer AI in this game is midnumbingly shit, I just can't believe a single employee at slightly mad ever tried to doa single race in this game. The way it works is basically like in the old Gran Turismo (3 or 4, which are literally 20 years old) games, where the AI drives around the track on the best line, forming a train of imbeciles, that ignoes anything you do. Now if you change the difficulty settings nothing about their behaviour changes except they brake earlier and accelerate later the easier you go, plus they won't go top speed or even close on very easy. Now the fact that they move like they are driving on train tracks becomes a big issue in wet races or in classes where most cars struggle for traction. Because the AI doesn't know traction or any other physical boundary for that matter. While you have wheel spin at every corner trying to keep it on the tarmac the AI will casually zoom around hairpins at 150kph not giving a fuck about anything. Another fun situation is when they push you onto the grass making you slower, losing 2 or 3 positions at least, but then when you try to do the same they just keep going at the same speed and even outbraking you on the the fucking grass.The funniest part about the AI though, is that they (according to ingame loading screen) named the drivers after their employees, which is actually kind of accurate, because they are all fucking idiots.
