Reines Molkerei-Produkt

Nach dem gelungenen Original Painkiller ( Review der Black Edition ), der ordentlichen Fortsetzung Painkiller Overdose und der nicht mehr ordentlichen Fortsetzung Painkiller: Resurrection, ist man mit Painkiller: Redemption dazu übergegangen, die Marke mit kleinen Standalone-Addons zu melken. Entsprechend gibt’s hier auch nur das Allernötigste, damit das kostenpflichtige Häppchen nicht mehr als Demo-Version durchgeht:

6 durchwachsene Levels, die mit Gegnern schon fast zugemüllt sind und modifizierte Versionen, eigentlich für den Multiplayer designter Maps sind, bilden in Form einer Mini-Kampagne den Kern dieses »Produktes«. Die 7 bis 10 Stunden Spielzeit, die in der offiziellen Produktbeschreibung versprochen werden, entsprechen praktisch einer Lüge und sind maximal dann zu erreichen, wenn man zwischendrin noch die Herr-der-Ringe-Trilogie in der Extended Edition ansieht und vergisst, das Spiel zu beenden (so geschehen in meinem Fall).

Neue Waffen oder Gegner gibt’s natürlich nicht, etwas Abwechslung bringt nur, dass jeder Level vorgibt, mit welchem Protagonisten – entweder Daniel Garner aus Painkiller oder Belial aus Painkiller Overdose – und dessen bekannten Waffen man ihn spielt. Geführt wird man dabei von einer Handlung in Textform, die natürlich eine reine Alibi-Funktion hat und völlig zum Vergessen ist.

Fortgesetzt wurde diese Art des Markenmelkens nur ein Jahr später mit Painkiller: Recurring Evil, bei dem es sich anbietet, diese Kurz-Review im Großen und Ganzen zu copy&pasten.

FAZIT: Nur für ganz, ganz knallharte Fans der Reihe – in einem großzügigen Sale-Angebot.

Super Fail Spiel... Jedesmal muss Gekämpft werden und wenn man Tausend Monster gekillt hat, kann man wieder weiter Bewegen und nach 2-3 Minuten kommen wieder Tausend Monster... UND DAS IMMER UND IMMER WIEDER !!!

Macht kein Fun das Spiel !!!

Alle Painkillergames sind irgendwie gleich. Man kommt in einen Raum tötet alles was da ist und kann in den nächsten Raum gehen. Töten, weitergehen, töten weitergehen, ...
Manche Leute sagen, dass Painkiller eine Serious Sam Kopie ist. Diese Meinung teile ich nicht. Es gibt andere Gegner und andere Waffen. Das Prinzip ist ähnlich, rumlaufen und alles töten was da ist. Anzumerken wäre noch dass die Grafik und der Sound nicht mehr zeitgemäß, aber nicht hässlich sind. Es gibt sogar eine Story.

Dieses Game empfehle ich nur Leuten, die auf Dauerfeuerorgien stehen.

Eine wahre Ballerorgie ohne Sinn und Verstand, aber mit einen rockigen Soundtrack. Mit knapp 3 bis 4 Stunden recht kurz, aber nach 1000 Gegner pro Level hat man am Schluss auch wirklich genug. Der Rest am Spiel ist eher schwach und billig. Dennoch ist Painkiller: Redemption eine solide Shooter-Kost für zwischendurch, wenn man keinen weiteren Anspruch braucht. Wenn man von Painkiller noch nicht genug hat, dann ist Painkiller: Redemption durchaus okay.

Nicht sonderlich zu empfehlen. Dauert nur 3 St., in den 3 St. kommen pro Levels mehrere hundert Gegner und man metzelt sekündlich im wahrsten Sinne des Wortes mehrere ab, das kann man cool finden, kann aber auch sehr ermüdend sein. Story? Keine Ahnung um was es da ging! Lieber gleich zu Painkiller: Hell & Damnation greifen, das ist war nicht sehr viel länger, aber viel besser!

super gut das spiel zwar ist die grafik nicht von morgen aber es ist ja auch von 2011 also die painkiller kennen und den teil noch nicht gespielt haben sollten es sich nicht entgehen lassen

Waste of money. Unmitigated bore. Bland weapons, pretty much a wave defense in tiny arenas as you just flee from the ever-encroaching swarm of enemies and scramble for ammo to insert into one of your bland guns. Even as a diehard FPS fan, this gets a definite 'pass' Save your money. Even on sale, look for something else. You probably won't have fun.

extreme amounts of enemies and it does away with the need to pick up souls to get the power up. this game has probably the best action in the series. but its very short.

This has to be the worst expansion of the Painkiller series ever made. Tight rooms and corridors with TONS of enemy spawning in the same spots almost constantly. The story is cringe, the weapons are the same, levels are not huge and have many small rooms. Stay away from this shite, play it at your own risk.

So I haven't googled it or anything but it seems each Painkiller game was made by a different developer and that sure seems to explain the extremely random level of quality for each of these games. Some of them are pretty awesome little shooter games. Others feel like junkware inspired by Painkiller rather than a new game .... Like this one! Wtf happened?

This feels different than painkiller, the music is there, the game play is kinda sorta there but the general feeling is gone. Bunny hopping for example does work, not very well but it works. But the monster count is far far FAR too much. The first level has a little over 1100 enemies, that does not seem so bad but there is no speed, the music is pushing you to go fast and have fun but its all just managing ammo sure you can move fast but whats the point? The monsters dont give you any reason to, sure they do alot of damage but there are so many of them often times you will be out of ammo (see huge goddamn monster count) and have to resort to melee, meaning mostly just kiting monsters and trying to not lose health. Not a painkiller game in my opinion.

The game crashes on loading screens, on switching taro cards, on killing the boss of the first act, on explosions caused by multiple boxes, crashes on everything!
Dont know why such bugged unfinished garbage is even sold on steam.

Spawn in a tiny room. Kill a wave of enemies. Kill a wave of enemies. Rinse, repeat. Repeat a dozen more times to have a door open to another tiny room. Repeat through ten alike rooms. You've killed nearly a literal thousand enemies now: congrats, you can go on to the next level. Repeat this process for as many levels as there are. I salute: you've mastered Painkiller Redemption.

Or who I am kidding? Don't repeat my mistake and try to finish even one level in a futile attempt to find out if second level offers any kind of difference to gameplay. Nope it won't.

In fact, just don't ever.

Okay, time for an honest review. You liked slaughtering demons in the original Painkiller? Well, developers of Redemption thought that the numbers of enemies per level weren't enough, so they boosted them up. I mean, they went to space. Have you ever seen an anthill? Well, they shove you into it right at the start of the first level. 900 enemies in the first level? Wait until you get ones with over a thousand. The levels themselves are just multiplayer maps put into the single player campaign. And let me tell you, they're not that large. When you hear demons spawning, prepare for a long battle. At the beginning I was wondering why does it take so long, why they're still spawning. When I heard a sound indicating that a checkpoint appeared, kill meter was reading almost 200 enemies killed. And it will be like this throughout the whole game. You walked into a short and narrow corridor? Don't think you may take a breath, all exits just closed and there are 50 enemies already spawning in the corners. I made it through all 8 levels to give you as honest opinion as I can. I don't recommend this game, worst installment in the Painkiller series so far, maps are small and you have to fight your way through a couple of hundreds of enemies on each one. The story is just a few sentences written in plain text and rolling through the screen at the beginning and the end. This game has almost only cons: small levels, WAY too many enemies, no story, terrible gameplay. Only pro I can think of is soundtrack, especially in the last level. If you want true Painkiller expierience, play Black Edition, or the remake, Hell & Damnation. Overdose is the last part that is not that bad. But please, don't buy Redemption, waste of time and money.
