Overlord II ist der zweite Teil des Fantasy-Action-Hits, bei dem die Spieler so genüsslich der Tyrannei frönen durften. In Overlord II kämpft der Spieler als neuer Overlord mit einer Armee noch stärkerer Schergen gegen ein ganzes Imperium und erlebt ein wahrhaft episches Abenteuer, dessen Geschichte vom Aufstieg des Römischen Reichs inspiriert wurde. Als das Glorreiche Imperium Königreich um Königreich unterwirft und jede Form von Magie vernichtet, sendet der Spieler seine mächtigen Schergenhorden in die Schlacht.

Die Schergen sind noch intelligenter, noch tödlicher (und noch lustiger) und stürzen sich in gewaltige Gefechte, in denen sie ihre wilde Rudelmentalität gegen die organisierten Legionen des Glorreichen Imperiums in die Waagschale werfen. Wie bisher führen sie dabei jeden Befehl des Overlords gehorsam aus und richten nun wahre Verwüstungen an, indem sie Gebäude und die Umgebung zerstören. Außerdem haben sie das Reiten gelernt: In Overlord II können die Schergen auf dem Rücken von Wölfen und anderen Zauberwesen durch die Landschaft reiten und in die Schlacht ziehen, so dass unsere kleinen Mitstreiter noch schneller und wilder agieren. Overlord II wird gerade bei Triumph Studios in Delft, Holland, entwickelt und erscheint 2009 für PLAYSTATION 3, Xbox 360 und PC. (codemasters)

Von einem zweiten Teil hab ich mir mehr erwartet. Es ist zwar gewohnt witzig, aber ich hätte mir wie beim ersten Teil vom Bosheitsgrad Auswirkungen auf die Story gewünscht.
Aber alles in allen wer den ersten Teil mochte, kann zugreifen, sollte aber kein zu hohen Erwartungen haben.

Ich habe Overlord II schon öfter durchgespielt. Ich finde, es wird nie langweilig. Wenn man beim ersten Durchgang nicht alles gefunden hat, aber keine Lust hat erneut durch alle Regionen zu latschen. Dann fängt man einfach neu an und erlebt es nochmal. Ich mag die Story, nach wie vor auch die Grafik. Das Spiel ist gut gealtert, wie man es nennen kann. :) Kann es echt empfehlen.

Jeder beginnt von klein auf. Auch der Overlord, wieder einmal. Als kindlicher Overlord beginnt das Spiel. Danach muss man den Schergen beweisen, dass man der Overlord ist.

Der Humor vom ersten Teil wird wieder gut eingefangen. Und mit den Schergen zu spielen macht Laune. Jedoch muss man zumindest gut chaotisch sein, um es richtig geniesen zu können.

Wenn man den ersten Teil gemocht hat, muss man den zweiten Teil spielen

Good gameplay, the maps are very varied, and the characters in this game are also quite funny. Personally, my first vision is a bit better, which in turn does not mean that Overlord2 is not a good game.

By the time when this review is written the Overlord series are long time abandoned by Codemasters and Triumph Studios, however, their flame was once burning pretty bright. The original game had its flaws but still received good reviews and acceptance. And the sequel does better most of the things from the original. This time you don't choose between being bad or good but you play for either bad Overlord or very-very bad Overlord, so you either enslave or kill everyone on your way. The combat became kinda more intense and require more tactical approach, there are also more minions to command at once and they even have mounts, also there is reworked system of magic which allows you either kill or enslave your enemies, depending on your playstyle/roleplay. But what's more important, it's some changes which improve the game overall, for example, you can finally seat on your dark throne and you don't need to choose between mistresses - you can have them all! The plot is kinda better too - it's written by Rhianna Pratchett herself, daughter of famous Terry Pratchett. But with so many good changes there are also some flaws. There are still puzzle elements and sometimes it can be very frustrating. And there are few moments when you probably will hate this game. Also you still have to relay on checkpoints. Well, at least this time you finally have a mini-map. So, overall, this is a good game and I played it for the first time shortly after its release but I dont know how new generation of gamers would accept it. Still, I suggest you to try and if you do, don't miss Gnarl's quotes - they are so hilarious.

Great idea for a game, well executed. The gameplay is fun, the writing is funny, lighthearted and entertaining. The drip feed of new minions, gear and abilities is well timed

There are some incredibly long segments of missions with no savepoint which can be frustrating, and the controls and camera occasionally decide they hate you and want to make your life miserable. The difficulty is somewhat erratic, jumping between a cakewalk and tear-your-hair-out in frustration at times.

All in all a fun game, well worth a play.

overlord 2 is a fun sequel to the original overlord game. it's a lot like the original, with you using the minions to solve puzzles and to aid you in combat. the plot is actually really intriguing and keeps you interested the entire time. the only big complaint i have is that this sequel feels a lot shorter than the original game and it's 'raising hell' expansion.

This game was a huge surprise to me when I played it - I had never heard of the franchise and it just playes so well. It still holds up as a super unique single-player game to this day, though the graphics are very dated.

Fun, interesting story line and constantly introducing new game mechanics through the entire game to make sure the combat doesn't get stale. It's a complete Joy to play from start to finish and it's really a shame they didn't go on to make a third game in the series. The only drawback to this game is in how re-playable it is. Once you've played it once there's nothing else to do, nothing to strive for beyond restarting the game from the start and doing it all over again which isn't very fun since you know what to expect and what's going to happen since you've done it once before already.

Good game certainly worth a buy and I'd give it a score of 80/100

I played Overlord 1 & 2 on the Xbox 360 when I was but a wee child. 15 years later and they are still amazing. These games are very fun and will always hold a special place in my heart. I mean, who doesn't want to be Evil and have an army of minions to terrorize the locals? Muwahaha >:D
P.S. if you are wanting to buy this game, setup controller configuration because mouse and keyboard is trash

Despite a bit slower pacing than the first game otherwise it's a great sequel and an over all improvement. Lead your minions and fulfill your villainous desires in a Pikmin like action RPG. Great campaign mode, lots of fun challenges and interesting environments. Just a great game to be honest!

Excellent upgrade to the original game, though I don't like the pacing as much as I liked in the first one. Also, the DLC for it is apparently only available on the console versions which is bullshit.

Game is actually fun... to a point.
Then again and again deficencies in control show up. Maybe that's because it was meant to be played on a gamepad, thus controls by keyboard and mouse suck, I don't know, but they way too often feel unresponsive and it's like game input lags.

I wan't to keep this short and sweet, Overlord II is the quintessential overlord game. The only thing this game lacks is more content, it's a serious loss that the steam community cannot develop mods for this game because that alone would warrant the purchasing of this game. It's blend of micromanagement of troops and combat feel fair and rewarding and if this series is ever returned to it will fail unless it takes the core gameplay mechanics found here and expands on them. (I cannot vouch for the multiplayer as I started playing after servers were taken down). If the concept alone intrigues you'll at least have fun beating this game.

A week ago I was diagnosed with a terminal illnes and the doctors have given me a year at best. I'm so glad I was able to play this masterpiece before I go. I don't know how many people will see this; but I recomend to you to buy this game if you do see it. Gameplay, being an overlord, controlling your loyal minions... everything is masterfully crafted. Thank you Codemasters for your game.

Genuinely, a really underrated game. Both Overlord 1 & 2 are well worth a purchase if you enjoy a pikmin like system, set in a pretty cynical magical world, these games are for you.

It's fun and goofy. I think the keyboard controls are little hard to get used to but other than that I've had some good fun well evil fun. Better than some of the triple A titles that get released nowadays

This is a fun game. Just solve little puzzles and send your minions to kill everyone. I only unlock the fire minions so I am not sure if it get harder or not. So far it seem easy.

A very well made game. The series is personal favorite of mine because of its gameplay and humor.

Overlord 2 is a nice, smooth, quirky, and fun game. In short, it's geared towards casual gamers and can feel a little like Pikmin. I will recommend it, but I highly suggest watching a few gaming review videos before making a purchase. It's fun for the casual player, the player looking for something new or challenging may be disappointed.

Overlord 2 is a cute story telling game. The player starts off the story being a somewhat Ugly Duckling, sort of the outcast kid of the village. The Ugly Duckling has some interesting choice in friends when it comes to leading him out of the village while getting revenge on the ducklings that were mean to the Ugly Duckling. As the player exists the village, the tutorial ends and the real game starts.

The gameplay is smooth due to the controls being effective and easy to use. Being an overlord, the player is allowed to command a set amount of units. Normally, this process from a third person standpoint can be a bit of a nightmare. The game counteracts all that by making everything simple, from the controls to interactions. The units' locations can be manipulated at anytime by using the right joystick, and as they come across something they can interact with along the way, they will do so. Specific targets can also be set in case the player wants part of the squad to focus on that specific something. The player's attacks are limited to a melee and a shock attack. Beyond that, there isn't much else regarding movement, dodging, or even blocking. The game is fun for what options is provides, but the basics come up a little short.

The visuals and graphics are excellent. The quirkiness of the game goes hand in hand with the visuals. Characters are over the top and very cartoon-ey. Objects are breakable in the environment and animations are quite smooth. Large objects in the environment sometimes are able to break, which results in new paths being available. The sounds and music are just as goofy as the visuals and graphics. Although it seems like pre-teen/teen sort of humour, adults will get a laugh out of what some of the goblins say. This entire domain was done with care.

Overall, the game is pretty fun... for casual gamers. If you're the type looking to bolster the steam library with something new, I would suggest moving on. If you have spent some time watching the review videos and the game does entice you - go for it. I got the game on sale and would recommend you getting it on a sale as well (if you decide to purchase it)!

I have played a lot of games in my time across many platforms, however this game is easily in my top 5! Having first played it on Xbox 360 to completing it again on PC during this never ending lockdown. This game continues to be super fun. Sure the AI can be janky (especially minions) and the game has a few bugs (particularly with minions getting stuck), the game is still very fun and worth playing anyway. If anything it adds to its charm. Its a very old game but this holds up as a great game by todays standards. Considering how cheap it is, you would be crazy not to play it!.

How to fix the controller not working issue:
You may have noticed it treats your controller as a mouse after you first open and close the game. The only way to fix this issue is to restart your computer. It is worth noting once you connect and disconnect your controller 1 time, the controller will no longer be recognised by the game after that unless you restart. Its weird yeah but I assume its to do with the games age and how things have changed since

This game is very different from any other ive ever played. Being the villain is very refreshing and this game does it well. Humor is a common theme and i didnt get bored once and just wanted to keep going. Recommend for anyone who likes fantasy setting with good humor. any questions about the game are wellcome.

Wanna be the good guy? This game aint for you :) - you play as the baddy - the OVERLORD with extremely weird Minions(Gremlins in my opinion) - create havoc and mayhem and enjoy the evolution of your minions from rat hats all the way to Greek Sparton armour - there is so much into this game and really looking back loved it so much - please bring the Overlord back with the team for more mayhem :)

A game between Indie and AAA that cleanly encapsulates an era of singleplayer gaming before mandatory multiplayer, microtransactions, and massive DLC projects.
