i played with a friend 8 hourse for the parrallel quest just to get shit loot and shit money. The fucking minibosses are so easy most of the time they dont even attack. The map looks like a N64 game its ugly ass hell. And you cant enter any fucking duegon unless you give the golem in the City 3 coils.
This 20€ DLC feels and plays like a mod.
Fuck this DLC im burned out this DLC is a disgrace for the game.

We already completed this gem of a game on Xbox One X with both of us maxed out in Zar-Armor and Zar Weapons (yeah we grinded lul :D).
And last year I finally converted from being a console Pleb to the PC master race and couldn't resist getting this game again.
First impression of this DLC is very good, many new NPCs you can interact with (I already have a ton of sidequest now from the inhabitants of Harmattan), two completely new skill trees, new weapons, enchantments, new enemies.
Can't wait to explore everything of it.
One little side note here: I noticed a few frame drops here and there and a few areas with low FPS in general. (about 53-59 FPS)
This needs to be fixed please with upcoming Patches. [I have a Nvidia RTX 2080 Super and a Ryzen 7 3700X, game is on an SSD. It definitely is the bad game optimization at this point]
All in all: I am really happy that this DLC came out <3 a YES from me.

Maybe one day, I'll stop and enjoy the roses.
Still positive because it adds a lot to base game and I still enjoy it as a whole. Just terrible writing/gameplay mechanics for a exploring/RPG game. (At least for a start?!)

The non-faction main quest of is very very very long, but good. Said quest line feels too long to want to repeat it regularly, but it is fun and adds interesting lore. However I do recommend a guide due to the size of the zone and the time it takes to traverse it. Even with a guide and a partner this quest line took us a while and a lot of running.
There's also new gear, enchantments, and classes, none of which are needed, but certainly provide a lot of projects for those who want to min-max.

I would highly recommend that the player should join the Sorobor faction to fully experience this DLC. According to the Steam global achievements, only about 0.5% of the people do. So being one of the very few who experienced this DLC to its full potential, here's my review:
- Perhaps the best dungeon experience I ever had in a video game. Without spoiling much, I'll just say that the new dungeons that's tied with the Sorobor questline, they are just amazing. The level design, music, art all comes together to deliver one of the most unique experiences. Hands down, the best feature about this DLC, and it's worth playing just for the dungeons.
- The story was less impressive than that of the base game, which I actually enjoyed. I just think the stories are very mature and that most younger people would not relate to them. Over all, the story is solid and ties in very neatly with the exploration.
- The new classes, weapons and other goodies are definitely great additions. The thing I find people complaining a lot about is how difficult it is to enchant. Once again it is the way the game expresses itself. It stands out to deliver a unique experience. That being said, there is practically no guide in-game (as always) regarding the these new mechanics. The player is free to experiment and try them out on their own.
- The one thing I found irksome was that the new Veaber animal, which fills the same role as the Pearlbirds are really annoying as they are obviously not strong enough yet foolishly runs towards their death. I wish the devs add some features where beasts that are not stronger than the player should actively avoid confrontation and run away. It ruins the immersion when right after you defeat scourge beasts, you get attacked by otherworldly beavers who are only worth two hits.

1.Final Boss is utterly stupid for a singleplayer experience. (multiple spawns in a confined space plus dozens of projectile spam)
2.Main quest has time limit really hinders the content (I want to explore the new content not be forced into the main quest the minute i arrive into town)
3.Enchantment system is frustrating
4.Basic Knuckles (Iron and above) Introduction to this weapon type is too late into the game.
5.Faction quests rewards is horrible compared to the rest.

The map barely as any major dungeons aside from the massive dungeon they added.
There are a few small dungeons that take 10 minutes to finish and there are ornate chests hidden in the environment.
This zone rewards environmental exploration to some degree, but there is a lot of wasted potential.
Not a single ruined building can be entered. that is a massive dissapointment considering the map is a massive fallen city. You know what is even worse? I found a very interesting looking building that looked like some kind of tavern or a beer shop.
Turns out that building with a massive beer keg on top of it is just for show. Why? Why would you even putan interesting looking building on the map if you can't enter it?
The map is halfassed. It is fun, but it could have been so much better.
Then there is the Enchanting mechanic. It is no fun whatsoever. It encourages experimentation, which is great. But it is finnicky, which is I don't mind, but it is underwhelming.
The recipes don't show what they do which is bad since once you enchant something, you can't remove the enchantment if you dont like it.
They could have added some nice special effects, but they didn't. It is basically placing stuff and getting a stat increase. Nothing fun about it.
And the materials required are rare and the pillar placement is to strict. I dont mind have to figure out the distance of the pillar on my own, but It would have been nice if there was a visual efefct that occurs only when everything is aligned correctly. Like a large sigil that appears when you placed everything the according to the recipe.
The classes are interesting but not fleshed out enough. The speedster class is the only class that gives a debuff and their skills aren't much worth it my opinion. The new hex mage has a an interesting enw mechanic that uses hexes to del damage and a new sigil that increases corruption when you its spells. But sigil is really underwhelming compared to the costs.
The corruption mechanic is just a huge debuff/buff. nothing dangerous about it, unless you are going to face enemies that deal lightning damage. The debuffs get significantly stronger at 75% corruption, but it just doesn't feel dangerous enough. reaching 100% can spawn a weak spirit every now and then and you take some aoe damage. There masive waste potential. It would have been nice to be able to tame the spirit with the blood sigil. And maybe it would have been interesting if you could get corrupted limbs if you are corrupted for too long.
Overall, this a bad DLC, especially considering it is withheld content.

Enchanting looks interesting, but it's highly restrictive on equipment and requires exceedingly rare materials, so it's not a very fun mechanic.
Many dungeons become suffer extremely low frame rates in split screen co-op compared to the base regions.
The skill trees introduce fun, novel playstyles, so if that's what you're looking for, by all means, buy this DLC. Otherwise, I can't really recommend it.

The expansion was fun and the story was great. The new mechanics are a lot of fun and also add great challenges. The fist weapons are also really nice!

I've played a lot of Outward on both PC & PS4 and thoroughly enjoy the unique gameplay. This DLC builds on that with the 2 new skill trees - both of which add so much to game! I love the Speedster tree and the unique animations that come with the abilities - on a new character I usually drag my feet and dither about spending any Breakthrough points but it was just so easy to start making new builds with the additional classes. The new weapon type introduced is also a lot of fun and I would recommend giving it a go, if only to see your potato-faced character dodging around and giving monsters a nice spin kick to the face. The new enchanting system is a little intimidating and doesn't seem to be explained much in game, which is no surprise as that's kind of Outward's jam. In saying that, it does add another level to the whole game, as Enchanting isn't limited to just DLC content.
If you enjoy Outward then you will definitely get something out of this DLC :)

I was also disappointed by the main area quest(non-faction), as it forces you to fight boss fight as melee as the arena is so small that ranged build is not an option. Sure, Outward makes it possible for you to change your character to melee one, but it's a drag when you have full ranged kit in use. The main game bosses are nicer as you can beat them in similar fashion with melee or ranged build just using different tactics.
The enchanting system that the DLC brought on was good idea, but i felt the implementation wasn't thought through. It required lots of effort for very little gain.
I'd want to recommend this at full price, but in all honesty i cannot.

I'm going to review this DLC as someone who has finished playing the base game. The Soroboreans DLC adds a fourth faction to the three ones and thank god it's main quest is completely different and not simply another 'different POV' of the same storyline as the base game- because after playing through the game multiple times, the same ending or plot points can be tiring to see all over again.
The enemies in the Antique Plateau are much tougher, mainly consisting of golems and scourges. If you've gotten the DLC alongside the base game and are thinking of joining the fourth faction as your first playthrough- don't. The way the DLC area is designed, it seems you are supposed to do it after a few playthroughs of the base game.
Another fair warning to new players: you cannot get to the new town, Harmattan, by foot. The only way to get there is through the caravan located at each town- but the catch is that if you want to travel out of Harmattan to any of the other towns, you have to go through caravan as well- and the location it takes you will be randomized. Have a quest in Cierzo? Well, the caravan is only going to Levant right now but don't worry, it'll change after three days pass and then MAYBE it might take you to Cierzo... or maybe either Berg or Monsoon. Basically, you need to plan your travels carefully if you select the fourth faction.
The two classes that are introduced in the DLC are also best designed to be used in the DLC areas due to new items/potions/food that would benefit these new classes. However, you can still pick up these classes for use outside of the DLC areas- I've seen my friend run a damage over time build along with the Hex Mage class for its Rupture skill.
The DLC also introduces a new mechanic- corruption, which is mentioned a lot in the base game's lore- and now you too, can be 'defiled' yourself! Certain monsters hitting you and being in certain areas will cause corruption in you to pile up and give you a negative debuff which worsens based on the amount of corruption you have. Unfortunately the only way to get rid of it is through DLC items or one tier 3 DLC skill. There was a point where my friend and I were playing through the base game and we got corrupted due to being hit by a certain monster and had to travel to Harmattan to buy the specific potion to get rid of the debuff.
(Also developers, you should change one of the unknown arenas which says we need 'corruption in our veins' to something more specific... due to corruption actually existing now)
Enchantments are also a thing now. They're pretty cool (you can further improve the stats on your stuff) with a unique enchanting mechanic. Sometimes it's a bit finicky though- certain enchants require certain seasons i.e. foggy and you cannot enchant if it's at the end of the foggy season (it will still look foggy but the next day the fog is gone and this doesn't count), so keep that in mind.
One last thing I want to talk about is the Parallel Questline. OH BOY IS IT TEDIOUS. It's basically a series of super long dungeons where you have to go to all of them to collect keys to unlock certain things and then you can finally go through another long dungeon to fight one boss at the end and get kind of meager rewards (an armor set, money and some enchantment particles). This questline is so long and annoying, you'd probably only want to do it once or twice- but if you decide to join the fourth faction, I'd say you should definitely do it just to travel around the area better.
In the end, you should decide after reading through this review whether any of these features appeal to you.

I believe that, if you liked the base game, you're extremely likely to enjoy the DLC. It's as simple as that.
The good:
- The dungeons. Oh lord, the dungeons. By far my favorite part of this DLC is how much effort Nine Dots put into the dungeons. In base Outward, the majority of the dungeons were quite shallow and short. I still enjoyed them, but it was the part I wanted improvements in the most, and the DLC delivered. The new dungeons are sprawling, visually interesting and have good encounter design. Visiting them for the first time truly feels like delving somewhere dangerous and unknown.
- The build variety. The Soroboreans adds two classes, one (very fun) weapon class, several new armor sets and enchantments to make existing armors fit new niches. This significantly increases upon the amount of options from the base game, which was already a strength. There's a lot of theorycraft and a lot to try out and play with.
The neutral:
- The dungeons can feel labyrinthine and confusing. I've seen quite a few people have difficulty finding the keys required to progress. Personally I haven't had many issues, but I have had to look up the location of a key I had missed on first glance. This, I feel, is not a huge issue, but some may feel differently.
The bad:
- The bugs. There's, unfortunately, quite a few small issues that pop up every now and then. Some enchantments do not work as they should, some players have issues with disconnections in co-op, enchatments doing very strange things in co-op, that sort of thing. Personally I've only encountered a couple and they did not significantly affect me, but this is definitely an issue with the game at the time of this review. On the positive side, Nine Dots have been extremely quick in hotfixing a few of the most common bugs, and I'm sure they're hard at work on the rest.
There's a lot more that could be said about the DLC, both good and bad, but overall I'm very satisfied and glad to have played it.

Overall the DLC is worth the price, and the time to invest into it. It offers a new experience and 2 new fun and interesting classes with new systems and more. The devs said themselves they wanted this in the originial game and lowered the price of the game because of that. Outward was suppose to be a 60 dollar game, and it truly is worth every single buck. The DLC and the game will offer infinite replayability as I have just reached 100 hours at the time of writing this.

The enchanting is also lackluster and due to the lack of npcs or things you can do to aquire knowledge other than experimentation, but it's mechanics are so obfuscated, it has no introduction, or explanation, that the design of having players experiment and discover is severly undermined because there's no supporting structure, you just find cryptic ingredient lists without introduction, and of course you can't ask an npc about it, like you would in any other game, because npcs in this game only serve to give you A quest, sell you things, or have prompts to talk to them that aren't valid because you haven't met some condition but can still try talking to them despite not having anything to actually say or ask.
This dlc is so much more of the same, and in some cases worse, and some cases better. The interconnect dungeon is nice if you have enough potions to go in one run, and you have enough supplies, but you till have to fucking back travel through this massive ass thing to get more or to sell shit, and the new map is still full of the same empty facade of a world that the other maps are, where there's the illusion of buildings and stuff but it's devoid of characters, interactions, story, or quests, and instead full of enemies and plants to eat.

I'm a few hours in the Soroborean DLC, and I can say of for sure that it is indeed the missing content from launch.
There are some few new nuggets they threw in the up the price tag. Essentially, we get a few need mats and recipes, the ability to enchant (as complicated as it is), and story and world content unique to the location of map.
The initial enemies I've fought aren't any harder than what we fought. There are some familiar faces, even downgraded versions of what you can fight in Enmerker Forest. Essentially, this place is like Abarssar in terms of minions and Chersonese (or whatever) in extreme cold, both in a mix that makes a place seem very familiar.
I'm disappointed with the Hex class. The randomness of it's initial skill and it's reliance on corruption which is a negative stat makes it pretty weak. The Speedster or whatever it is basically a high risk, meh reward. Higher alertness gives you more invulnerability frames in dodge while lowering your defense. Unless you drop your backpack or get the perk to be able to roll with out it, this tree doesn't get anymore powerful even with the attack choice of the final skill. Running attack damage boost? I mean, I think I might use the running attack as an opener or on weak mobs, but given how attack tracking isn't the best and the variable range on melee weapons, this is an awfully weak perk.It doesn't even benefit the new fist weapons.
Overall, I wasn't surprised by what the dlc is. I would have liked to not be nearly forced to wear a specific set of armor to survive or be popping pots and food left and right. Impact is a big deal in this game and fist weapons don't pack a punch but do have good dps. You will probably be trading blows with enemies as you pummel them. That's not to equal to living long when everything is always in a group. So, it's back to abusing traps, arrows, and the norm. Feels like it's designed for that because the mech enemies are notorious tanks and dps.
Also... please fix it so the music doesn't cut out. Just sucks.
~~~~
Edit
I've finished the DLC and I'm sticking to the negative review. This should have been in the base game. The story is a bunch of easy timed quests that take you over the map. It's the same format as the other 3 stories except they through in a timer which contradicts a lot of how they built the original game.
The story is basically simulates a rivalry between factions but is so predictable. The new enemies are nice and the boss battles are a lot more epic than the base game, which I can really dig. However, the epic boss battles are reserved for the endgame (which I did first... don't do it first) which isn't part of the main story, but is referenced. You are, again, funneled to picking different answers that all equal the same consequence. Npcs are as lifeless as ever and the zones remain empty. It's like they didn't both taking the feedback they got and pressed on with releasing the missing content from the first game.
Verdict:
You are payed $20 to play through this game again with features that don't really change the game at all (enchantments don't change the game and corruption and a gimmick that only the hex class can take advantage of in a way with very little payoff).
Wait for a sale or run co-op with someone that has the dlc to get the guantlets (unless you can craft them in the base game. You aren't missing out on skills).
