Nyctophobia is a really bad horror game, I would dare to call it one of the worst one on steam.

In Nyctophobia we play as a man who crashes his truck in the middle of nowhere, we find a note that there's a man calling himself The Keeper who will kill you if you don't leave his land and so now you have to find a way out before The Keeper kills you.

You do this by looking for items around the map and picking up batteries for your flashlight. I imagine if you run of batteries you die, but gladly I haven't run out of batteries since there's a lot across the entire map.

Graphically the game looks like slapped up assets from the unity asset store. It's all really ugly and the entire map is really bizarre with a military base, train station, and a massive lake located very close to each other.

Sounds are also very likely came out of a free sounds website as all of is very generic.

The game is also really buggy, you can clip and get stuck in most items and places around the map and getting out of them is the pain.

The game is also not scary what so ever. At first I was spooked by the atmosphere and the spooky sounds, but I quickly remembered that I heard the same sound effects in other horror games and my fears faded away fast. Also The Keeper is laughable at best and not even remotely scary.

The game took me 30 minutes to finish, after you complete it you have a mini game which I have not tried because I was sick of the game after I finished it.

I got this game for free, but I still think it was a waste of time. I really suggest saving your money and getting something else since there's a bunch of better horror games on steam that are just as cheap and also not to mention you can go look for a game on Gamejolt which has tons of great horror games that are also free.

Graphics on the screenshots is not great, but in-game it's somehow much worse.
Glitches, fall through map couple of times. Luckily there is no fall damage.

Generic horror on Unity. Technicaly it's actualy better than some others but yet not good enough.

Fun/Horror	1/4	It is difficult to review a game that has as many problems as this. There is no fun to be had and the few jump scares present in the game do not justify the time spent
Controls /Gameplay	1/4	There is almost no attempt to provide an immersive horror experience, and the controls/gameplay continually detract from enjoying what limited gameplay is present.
Graphics	1/4	2D sprites and circa 2000 graphics in a 3D game written in 2015 represent laziness, poor design decisions, or a simple lack of competence that treads dangerously close to designer maleficence
Sound	1/4	When the sound actually works, it is ham-fisted. In terms of music, I am a big fan of Kevin MacLeod, but his compositions are wasted here (and as another reviewer pointed out, at least credit the guy properly!)
Replayability	1/4	I couldn’t even finish the game the first time and have no desire to play this game ever again.

Overall = 25% - The lowest score I can give to a game that actually loads and runs at least once. I don’t even feel like giving a snarky comment here. Just don’t give this game any of your time.

A minefield you can traverse by running round the back of it, an on-rails boat ride and a train station with two rooms. Push some pillars around, run to a generator and it's goodnight, god bless.

Granted, I didn't explore every inch of the map but then I'm guessing the developer didn't either because I fell through it twice.
