Nohra is a beautiful and fast paced precision platformer where you take control of Lupu, a newly awakened monster, and attempt to escape from an abandoned lab.

Created by students of the DigiPen Institute of Technology, this game is built with reaction and mechanical mastery in mind where players are expected to recognize patterns in the scenes and combine movements to advance. Set in a once proud laboratory now broken and neglected, you play as a monster who has broken its containment. Freed of your confinement for the first time in years, you scour the lab in search of an exit, and maybe something more. Something other than freedom that calls to you.

On your mission to find a way out, you will encounter many dangers. All signs of the previous inhabitants are gone, but the defenses protecting them are as vigilant as ever. However, with your ability to chain dashes together and slow down time, the defenses set up in your way stand no chance. Through sheer force of will and strength beyond normal creatures, you will prove you are what you were designed by your makers long gone to be, an apex predator.

Short and simple, taking only around 20 minutes to complete. The animations of the character, levels as well as the cut scenes are well done. The levels aren't too challenging but the dash controls are a bit clunky. The on screen dash indicator is slightly delayed to your mouse movements making your dashes to come out too late in more precise moments. Nothing that makes the game unbelievable hard though.
I would recommend if you enjoyed games like celeste and if you're in to speed running as it has an inbuilt timer on screen

Fantastic, fast, simple indie platformer. In 15 minutes you can beat the game with beautiful visual effects and stylized cut-scenes.

Suuuuper cool! I stumbled across Nohra due to a typo and I'm so glad I did!! The level design is fantastic and surreal, and the characters we get to see share that same beauty! Very comfortable controls and enjoyable gameplay, with plenty of checkpoints to prevent it from getting too rage-y. Of course, it's not without its frustrations, but that's what makes these games fun! Totally recommend giving it a play - after all, it's not like there's a price tag stopping you (surprising for this lovely of a title!)

It's quite short, only 5 levels, lasting about 1 and a half minutes each, but its fun all the way through. I have heard people call this a rage game, and while I can agree, I found it a bit easy myself. I recommend it to anyone wanting a quick little Speedrun, or whoever is just curious.

Its very short but I liked the gameplay a lot it took me <11 minutes to finish it on my first try but if you are looking for free games Id say check out the publisher.

Wonderful atmospheric little platformer. An absolute joy to play.

pro-tip you can both jump and dash after going through one of the chevrons, not just dash again. I was on like my 60th try on level 5 before I figured that out.

I personally think that this game was great. The platforming was fun and fluid but also challenging. Although i wish that this game was longer, I understand its short length due to it being a project for a school. Overall, Great Game.

Played for about 10 mins. Really well polished as a student project. Personally I'm not a huge fan of time slowing in platformers cuz it breaks the flow but some precision jumping are hard to get without any help so glad to see the time slow makes up for that.

Incredible cinematics.

The visuals and backgrounds are not as impressive as they seemed at first. Once the first few moments are over, the game doesn't keep you amazed at the visuals. At points, the visuals honestly looked a bit like they tried to be minimalistic.

The art design isn't all that bad though, i thought the sprite work was nice, and the few things you do see in this game are quite nice looking. it was slightly jarring seeing non pixelated things mixed with pixelated things.

The gameplay was smooth. i found both controller and mouse to work great, but i was a bit disappointed with no real lack of change, if this game was longer than the 15 minutes it took me to play, I feel id be forcing myself to continue just to get it over with.

I would have loved to see a bit more to do, or at least some different types of obstacles instead of the same laser repeated.

I would recommend playing, this game encourages speedrunning and i'm sure it wouldn't take very long to master. and if you wanted to play the game for the experience of it all, its not too in depth, the trailer shows basically all of the nice looking things in the game. Don't play the game expecting to look at a good looking game and a interesting world.

A friend of mine did some art for this game. Overall this is a ton of fun and I'm interested to see if these devs work on anything else in the future.

After a hiatus from my occasional seek for good, free games on Steam, I had a look through the free games released in the past few months, and stumbled across Nohra. Gems like these remind me of why I started doing this.

Nohra is an excellent platformer challenge experience, albeit a bit too short to call a game and perhaps lacking in content at this time. In its core, it's a very well crafted platformer which relies on quick reflex, and on its own, it is a pretty good short experience which, rather than feeling like a game, feels like it's a taste of what could be, given some more development. With a bit more work put into making it a full game, it would take it from just a short experience, to a fully fleshed out, solid platformer.

There is some great potential here for something greater, and I hope the developer(s) consider continuing working on this, or similar projects in the future.

This game looks really neat and I like the idea of playing a monster escaping from an abandoned lab. The movement is pretty fun; you get a mid-air jump if you walk off ledges without jumping and you have a freely controllable (360°) dash. Therefore you have to use an analog stick when playing with controller or aim with the mouse when using a keyboard. There are also bars/gates that reset your dash and mid-air jump, as well as the classic death lasers. Pretty basic stuff, really.

Nohra is, however, really short. And I mean really short. It took me a meager 6 minutes to beat even though I'm not used to controlling platformers with an analog stick (I always use D-Pad). If I paid for this game, suffice to say that I would be disappointed. But considering that it's free, this isn't a significant complaint. The game definitely shows promise and I would gladly buy a full-length game of this sort, if it were ever made.

Give this game a go if you feel like playing a fun-sized platformer!

it only took me 8 minutes to beat but it was fun. reminds me of celeste but more of a platformer. by this i mean that while celeste has a climbing mechanic and feels more technical and a little bit slow. this isn't a bad thing but nohra involves more fast movement than celeste if you don't use the slow down feature. the dashing is fluid and i liked that if you didn't jump on the land you could jump mid air and the jump and dash worked together. while i think this should've been explained, it was still a fun and decently unique experience.

Absolutely a fun game with tight controls and fun mechanics. I'd love to see more levels, and more to the Story-line. I would say with 5-6 more levels this could be a reasonably priced at $10-$20. It's got some real potential.

It's a fast-paced platformer for beginners and veterans. It's pretty much fun to better your own time record. There is only (for a Nohra newbie) like 20 minutes of gameplay. But as you can see, the real deal behind this game is to better yourself.

I would pay 5€ for this, but happily it's free-to-play and no pay-2-win behind the game mechanics. There is a potential of like 40€ if they would put out more content like making his own levels, publishing your own levels, play levels from other users, more official levels, a good story supported with like cutscenes or whatever.
I hope that the developers are about to invest more time into this game. It's potential is big as I already said.

Super short, fun game. First playthrough took about 7 and a half minutes, to give a rough estimate of how long the game is. That was with some struggling.

Gameplay:
Walk, jump, dash. Aim your dash in any direction. There's mid-air dash refreshers so you can chain dashes through the levels, but be careful of lasers. And there's apparently a mechanic to slow down time so you can more accurately aim your dashes and process what's happening, but I didn't realize that until halfway through.

Story:
Monster escaping the lab. That's it. Opening cutscene is your monster busting out of its pod and ending cutscene is busting through the glass of the lab to get outside.

Short game but what's there is pretty fun.

Played a few more times before Steam even let me leave a review and my quickest time got down to 3 minutes 45.419 seconds.

Short, but fun. Art is well done, Animations are nice and clean. All in all it's what you expect, but with a nice level of polish. The in game timers are a nice touch to let you know how quick you did each level. Well worth 15, give or take, minutes a single play through takes.
