Hello Mechanics!
We know you’re passionate about two wheels, but today we’ve got something special that bridges the gap between motorcycles and cars. ????️???? Whether you’re tinkering with your bike in the garage or curious about the inner workings of four-wheeled machines, our latest devlog dives into the art of creating realistic vehicle parts. From bolts to engine blocks, it’s a process that applies to both worlds of speed and mechanics.
When it comes to Rally Mechanic Simulator, it’s all about the details. Creating realistic car parts is the core of our game, and today we’re excited to take you behind the scenes to show how we bring those parts to life—from the first concept to the final 3D model.
Every car part starts with thorough research. Our artists dive into photos, technical drawings, and real-life examples to understand the exact shapes, sizes, and materials needed. This stage is crucial for understanding shapes, sizes, and materials. Using tools like Blender, Maya, and Substance 3D Painter, we craft each part step-by-step, paying close attention to how light interacts with different surfaces, ensuring every bolt, screw, and panel feels authentic. Once the model is shaped, we fine-tune every detail, from bolts to textures, and then optimize it to keep the game running smoothly.
The time needed to model a part can vary. Simple parts might take a few hours, while complex ones can require up to two weeks. We balance accuracy and performance, relying on detailed references to ensure our models look and feel true to life. Many of our artists have spent time working with real car components, so they have a good sense of what details matter the most. Their mechanical experience adds an extra layer of authenticity to the game.
Modeling challenging parts like engine blocks requires a blend of creativity and precision. These components are filled with tiny details that must look accurate while keeping the game running smoothly. To achieve this, we often use techniques like normal mapping, which allows us to create detailed textures without straining performance. Our team’s hands-on experience with real car parts helps us make informed choices, ensuring our models not only look good but also function correctly in-game.
Our workflow has evolved to make the process more efficient. We now use shared materials for texturing, making updates quicker, and keeping everything consistent. We’ve also refined our optimization techniques, allowing us to deliver stunning visuals without sacrificing performance. Each new model we create builds on the lessons we've learned, helping us reach higher standards of quality.
Creating realistic and engaging car parts is an ongoing journey for our team. We’re constantly refining our techniques, learning from each model we create, and pushing the limits of what’s possible in the Rally Mechanic Simulator. Your feedback is crucial to us, and every suggestion helps us improve and bring you the best experience possible. We can’t wait to share more about our process, new features, and exciting updates we have in store. Stay tuned for more insights into the making of the game, and as always, we’d love to hear what you think! Join the conversation in the comments below or on our Discord. Thank you for being a part of this journey, and see you in the garage!
