Monstrum 2 ist ein asymmetrisches PvP Multiplayer-Spiel für all diejenigen, die Survival-Horror des nächsten Levels erleben wollen. Schließe dich einem Team von bis zu 4 menschlichen Gefangenen an, die von einem schrecklichen Monster gejagt werden, und setze dein gesamtes taktisches Geschick ein, um von einer verfallenen Seefestung zu entkommen. Oder spiele als eine von vielen fürchterlichen Monstrositäten, die den Gefangenen nachstellt. Nutze deinen Verstand und deine Gerissenheit, um einen Weg durch ein komplexes und prozedural generiertes Metalllabyrinth zu finden, dessen Aufbau, Puzzle, Gegenstände und Hindernisse bei jedem Spiel anders sind, sodass jedes Match sowohl für Menschen als auch für Monster eine eigene Dynamik aufweist.

Prozedurale Seefestung
Entdecke Sparrowlock, die Forschungsanlage von Hong-Sha Miller, für die eine alte Seefestung umfunktioniert wurde. Finde einen Weg durch ein verschachteltes Netz von verrosteten Räumen und Gängen, während du dich an die unterschiedlichen Umgebungs- und Gameplay-Herausforderungen anpasst, die für jedes Match neu generiert werden.

Spiele als Gefangener

Arbeite mit anderen Teammitgliedern zusammen, um Gegenstände zu plündern, die in der verfallenden Anlage verteilt sind und die du benötigst, um die Hindernisse zu überwinden, die zwischen dir und deiner Flucht liegen.
Achte auf deine Gesundheit und bleibe außer Sicht. Nutze verschiedene Verstecke, um eine Entdeckung zu vermeiden, während du gleichzeitig Fallen ausweichst, die deinen Standort verraten.
Wenn du entdeckt wirst, dann solltest du besser die Beine in die Hand nehmen! Bleibe agil und nutze verschiedene von die gesammelte Gegenstände in deinem Arsenal für eine rasche Flucht. Dein Überleben steht immerzu auf Messers Schneide.

Spiele als Monster

Wähle eine von vielen unterschiedlichen genetisch-modifizierten Monstrositäten aus, die das Resultat von fehlgeschlagenen Tiefsee-Experimenten sind und jeweils einzigartige Eigenschaften für die Menschenjagd aufweisen.
Schlage, klettere, stelle Fallen, teleportiere. Meistere unterschiedliche Monster und nutze deren einzigartigen Fähigkeiten, um die Umgebung auf taktische Weise auszunutzen und deine Beute zu überraschen.

Absolutely love this game! Monstrum 2 is a 4vs1 multiplayer game with fun and varying game mechanics. It combines elements of monstrum 1 with new functions and tasks. The game creats an atmosphere that gave me goosebumps. Love to play it together with friends.

The game has great potential and is a lot of fun even if it needs a few more players.

Es sind halt einfach keine Spieler da egal welche Region man spielt. Das Spiel wurde meiner Meinung nach auch einfach zu früh released, da hätte noch viel an Gameplay Mechanics usw kommen müssen. Meine Güte die Entwickler haben nicht mal auf die Kritik reagiert und einfach weiter gemacht, kein Wunder das es niemand spielt und jetzt versuchen die das mit Mikrotransaktionen finanziell zu rette... naja für mich war es eine einzige Enttäuschung und ein Verlust einer guter Reihe und 20 €.

Keine Spieler zu finden im Multiplayer, also unspielbar, da es nun mal auch keinen Singleplayer- bzw PvE - Modus gibt. Rückerstattung beantragt. Und das für fast 12,50€.... Keine Kaufempfehlung.

Pro:
- Das Game macht wirklich sehr viel Spaß mit Freunden
- Alternative zu anderen asymmetrischen Games
- Man erhält auch in Privaten Spielen Punkte, hat also dadurch keinen Nachteil
- Freispielbare Cosmetics
- Abwechslungsreiche und herausfordernde Aufgaben die benötigt werden um zu entkommen
- Lustige Überraschungsmomente :D

Contra:
- Kaum Spieler in öffentlichen Lobbys, ohne Freunde also nocht spielbar
- Läuft auf manches Systemen wohl nicht flüssig
- Skins könnten teilweise noch etwas besser sein. Z.B. Ordentliche Frisuren
- Manche Monster können Gefangene an gewissen Spots niemals töten, wenn sie sich dort vercampen
- Gamebreaking Bugs können in manchen Runden auftreten (Z.B. Fortschritt der Spieler ist asynchron, Spieler buggt im Fahrstuhl fest, usw.) (Muss halt erst nach und nach gepatcht werden)
- Dadurch, dass es komplex ist überfordert es eventuell zu Beginn etwas, wird aber nach etwas Übung immer schneller und besser

Mein Fazit:
Es macht mir persönlich viel Spaß! Ich werde es auch weiter mit meinen Freunden spielen und hoffe, dass die großen Updates wieder manche Spieler motivieren weiterzuspielen.

Monstrum 2 ist mehr Chaos, als gutes angenehmes Spielerlebnis. Mir hat es überhaupt nicht gefallen. Mal abgesehen von den ganzen Bugs, wo man zum Beispiel in Lücken hängenbleibt und die Hitbox vom Charakter größer ist, als der Charakter selbst und somit nicht durch bestimmte Lücken kommt und die Lobby, wo man rausgeworfen wird oder erst gar nicht in eine Lobby reinkommt, kommt noch dazu, dass die Bewegungen von Charakteren und Monstern so hastig und plötzlich geschieht, dass man null Übersicht von seiner Umgebung hat und es mehr Glück ist, wenn man noch andere Charaktere im Auge behalten kann.
Die Monsterattacken sind so weich, dass man nie ein Gefühl dafür hat, wann man einen Überlebenden trifft und wann nicht.
Dazu kommt noch, dass die Bewegungsgeräusche und Monstersounds so global sind, dass sie vollkommen verwirren und man nie weiß, wo die Geräuschquellen herkommen.
Für mich ist es keine gute Spielerfahrung gewesen, leider und dafür, dass es eine closed Beta gab, ist das Spiel mega unbalanced und fühlt sich von der Bewegungssteuerung und Spielmechanik her so unfertig an, dass es für mich unspielbar war.
Ich wünschte, die Entwickler hätten sich mehr Zeit mit der Early Access-Veröffentlichung gelassen, um eine angenehmere und funktionierende Spielerfahrung zu bieten.

Sehr gutes Horror Multiplayer Spiel das vom Konzept her
SCP Secret Laboratory ähnelt jedoch eine dichtere Atmosphäre hat.
Vor allem mit Freunden kann dieses Spiel sehr viel Spaß machen.

After having played the game for the better part of a year I can unfortunately not recommend this game. The past year has been frustrating to say the least. The game suffers from a consistent disconnect between what the community wants and what the team behind it want.

Together with many others I have attempted to get the message across as to why this game doesn't work right. All be it the balancing which has totally missed the mark since day one, the abominable decisions made surrounding gameplay, and the consistent lack of any form of transparency coming from the development team. Myself and my friends purchased this game January of this year expecting a worthwhile continuation of the first Monstrum 1 game. Unfortunately, right off the bat we were let down by the distinct lack of singleplayer, which according to many steam reviews, I am not alone in. While this was overseeable, the longer we played the game, the more issues came forward in later content updates.

As it stands, personally, the game is at it's worst state that it has been at all year. With balancing being more off putting than ever, the lighting of the game being toned down so much half my screen renders at complete blackness, and performance being so bad all my friends have since quit playing. I don't see this game becoming successful unless the team takes an objective step back and looks at their game through the eyes of its community. Unfortunately, I am worried it might be too late for that.

Many attempts have been made by myself and others to let the team know how we feel, however we more or less unanimously don't feel taken seriously, and many of our feedback is seemingly discarded all together. Simply put, at this moment in time, much like many others, I simply cannot recommend this game unless major changes are made.

Purchase Monstrum 1 instead.

It feels like there's so much potential here, but so little is used. I wish this game could be updated more, and it's a shame that the early release all but killed off the playerbase as it seems to barely maintain an average of 3 players each month. HOWEVER, it is slowly improving with each update. If the devs just listened to the woes of the community, perhaps it could improve to a stage where old players might return and new players could gain interest.

Not sure what the devs are going for here.
The first one was kind of fun. Unique cause the monster was an AI so it felt more like a game.

This seems like they are trying to build dead by daylight but not as well.

TL;DR at bottom.

I cannot in good faith recommend Monstrum 2 at this time. As much as I want to give this game a positive review, there are simply too many glaring issues to warrant recommending the game in it's current state. If you read some of the other reviews and feedback people have given, you can get a good idea of what it's like to play right now and admittedly, while I do occasionally have some fun with the game, I find myself quickly losing interest and becoming frustrated.

If you get past the fact that you are going to have to ask others in the JunkFish discord to even find enough players to play a game, you are quickly going to realise that the balance between the prisoners trying to escape and the monsters hunting you down, pretty much doesn't exist. If the monster even has a slight idea of what they are doing, in most runs, unless the prisoners are equally as good, if not better, you are going to get absolutely destroyed. Combine this with the fact that there are still so many bugs (especially with the audio) that have existed since the launch of Early Access, you are going to have to do everything your power to convince yourself that this is a good experience.

With that being said, it wouldn't be fair if I only talk about the negatives as after all, I did mention I have had some good times. If you find yourself in the position with a few friends to play with (a game can have at most 5 players, 4 prisoners, 1 monster) and you all decide you want to mess around and not take it to seriously, you will have a fun time.

As a note to anyone who has played the first Monstrum game or is interested in playing the original Monstrum, if you want a true horror experience with minimal glitches and want to give yourself a good scare with exciting gameplay, I would strongly recommend you give it a try. I will warn you that Monstrum 2 is very different from Monstrum 1 and if you're hoping for a similar game (as many others have) with a co-operative mode against an AI monster, Monstrum 2 does NOT (and the devs have been clear to state), will most likely never have a co-op vs AI mode.

In conclusion, I want to reiterate in saying that it really pains me to give a negative review. I really wished that Monstrum 2 was more of an extension on Monstrum 1 and it's a real shame that this will most likely never happen. I do however want to note that in the future (which may be over a year from now), I will come back and update this review if I do feel that game has progressed in a positive manner. For your sake and mine, I hope JunkFish can pull off a game as great as the first and I look forward to being able to play this game with many others for many hours.

TL;DR
I cannot recommend Monstrum 2; you will need to put in effort to find players by yourself; there are many glaring issues (balancing between prisoners and monsters & many more). Game is fun with friends (that's assuming you have any to begin with ;)) I recommend trying Monstrum 1, it will provide a better experience.

mu first reveiw for the game i really like it it is fun to play and watch other people get scared when i come out of no where while it is fun it does have some weirdness with it since it is early acess i look forward to more of what junk fish has to ofter

Even then, playing it with friends is a chore.

i pre-order this game, its not close to being as fun as the first, loved the first. the fact that a player controls the monster kinda takes away from it, seems like its trying to take from dea by daylight instead of doing their own thing. be better if ya add a game mode that lets a ai control the monster like the first game then i could give it a thumbs up.

Buy the first game instead. This game is trying too hard to ride on the whole asymmetrical PvP concept hype and honestly seems to have lost what the first game had because it's just not scary and feels nothing like the original in my opinion

The original seems to me a better game as of now. I know this is still beta so I have hope for it. Prisoners die too easily and too often. Monsters seem too powerful for under 4 prisoners and even then its just too much running all the time. Get rid of the monsters ability to spot all players no matter where they are and let them look for us like we have to.

Great game. Needs work, but is still plenty of fun now.

I've seen a lot of negative reviews about this game, and they mostly summarize a few points: Early access, tiny player base, and people unable to accept change.

After looking through the review for M2:

what the fuck was M2 going to expand on if it was another vs AI. That's just a DLC for M1. So many people are coming into this game expecting it to be like the first Monstrum, and cannot accept that this is and entirely different game. It's set in the same universe, but other than that, it's nothing like the previous one.

M2's got a tiny playerbase because JF haven't put much into much into advertisement. Yeah, there are a few ads around, but it's not the focus. The devs want to work on the early access before expanding the playerbase.

people need to get through their heads that this is an *early access* game. Not full release. Not alpha/beta. If they'd played the alpha and beta versions of the game, they'd see how far the game has come. BUT IT'S STILL EARLY ACCESS. IT IS SUBJECT TO CHANGE. Alpha was to get a working state of the game. Beta was to make it functional. Early access is the loop where they smooth out kinks and bugs in the game. Early access is where they can change the game around what the playerbase want. If you've joined the discord, you'll see that there's an suggestions and chat channel, where the players suggest and discuss changes to the game. The devs listen, the devs are active in the community and pay attention to balance changes and new ideas.

With such a small playerbase, the best way to play is with a group of friends. A community I'm part of has M2 gaming sessions ever now and then (can't rn due to life commitments), and it's really fun.

I see people saying the game's failed because it's been rushed. Like, No, it a) wasn't rushed, b) it hasn't failed. just because *you* don't think it's good, doesn't mean that's the general opinion. c) this's the whole point of early access. to change the game, alpha and beta got it to this state, now JF have something to work with and adapt.

Every patch, JF are fixing things that ruin the game, there's an update in progress right now that's fixing some painful decision, as well as changing the map look.

10/10 communication btw JF.

tldr: It's a 4v1 PvP in early access, and people are comparing it to a 1v1 PvE that's been released for over 6 years.

And JF's not adding Ai. Suck it.

Great game, don't know why it's considered bad by most of the reviews here. It's slightly buggy and has some crashing issues, but what did you expect from an early access game? Perfection?
I've seen reviews about how the monsters are too overpowered, but personally, I find them the right amount of difficulty. It's just like the first game where you suck ass at the game at first, but get better as you keep playing.
I would prefer an option for single-player, but I wouldn't hate the game if it doesn't end up having one.
I've seen complaints about the low player base as of now, and that would be the main issue. Nobody is playing the game. This makes matchmaking much harder. However, this is solved with a simple solution (that most reviewers probably don't realize); get more friends. It's much easier to find a match if you have someone ready to play with you.
Obviously, getting friends is easier said than done. However, if you're gonna write a four page essay on how an early access game sucks, then maybe you should pull that stick out of your ass and spend that time to make some more friends.
The game doesn't suck ass as much as people are saying it does, this isn't like No Man's Sky's release or anything. Most of the complaints have just been people being unnecessarily picky. Enjoy the game for what it is, it's not exactly like the first Monstrum, so deal with it.

TLDR; The game is good, definitely recommend, stop complaining like some sort of Doom Eternal IGN Journalist and enjoy the game for what it is.

I was Super Super excited for this game and couldnt wait for it to come out. Now that its had some updates etc etc me and my cousin bought 2 copies. My only complaint(s) with the game are there some bugs like bugging through the elevator floors and ceilings and the other thing i hate is just how dead the game is. I would actually play this game if there were alot of people playing but for the hour+ that we played we only found 1 player.... 1!!!!! Thats the only problems alot of people say the controls are bad/janky but i disagree i didnt have a problem with them I wouldnt recommend buying right now but once the game is updated some more and maybe some players come back, my cousin and I will 101% come back to play this game.
PS.... Forgot one thing. There is no AI which is kind of stupid BUTTTT it is early access i really really hope they add AI because then people would really enjoy the game.

Adding Ai could definetly help
Unless this game can be brought up to the current progress of DBD with enough uniqueness while still having the charm of addictive easy to learn hard to master gameplay it is unfortunatly a pale comparison
Its basically the trickster of asymmetrical horrors currently, still fun but needs to push itself a bit more

Could be a great game, but it does not have a player base right now (literally zero, you can wait for hours and you won't find a session). I think the solution would be to add bot monsters and survivors.

It's fun with friends though right now.

So I recommend this game, because its good WHEN you have the friends to play with. Otherwise don't bother trying before they don't have a playerbase or add bots.

Currently this game is still in very early stages of Early Access, this means the game lacks a lot of polish and content atm.
However atm its dirt cheap and has a lot of promising mechanics.

Prisoners are pretty satisfying to play, the light weight puzzles and constant movement are way more engaging than dead by daylights generators. The monsters are very deadly, but can be stealth juked...which is super satisfying. A few balance patches have already hit and some Quality of life patches as well to smooth things out.

Currently it seems like balance is in a pretty reasonable ballpark. I would say that 4 skilled prisoners probably have the advantage atm just because of the speed at which puzzles can be done by this type of player. I'll be following the game along with several others this year.

The asym Genre is wide open with only a single successful game in it, Dead by Daylight, which doesn't even have that large of a player base when compared to big titles in the Battle royal genre or Moba genre.

Needs AI monsters like the first game and multiplayer should have been optional. Hope the devs do good things with this one, the animations especially need fixing. And it's not even remotely scary like it was in Monstrum 1, just get Monstrum 1, it's a much better experience and you can actually play the game, unlike Monstrum 2 right now with no players online so you can't do anything with the game. :(
