Schöne und leicht verständliche DAW mit ner ganzen Menge Plugins, Samples und virtuellen Instrumenten für wenig Geld. Hab es im Angebot für weniger als 10€ gekauft und bin sehr zufrieden!

After using this software for a few years now, on and off Steam, I can't recommend it for the lack of basic features like portamento and other things. Also, this edition of Mixcraft does not allow you to automate anything other than volume for effects, so no VST automation. It doesn't tell you about this anywhere, though, so you usually find this out the hard way. (Or maybe I just didn't look around.)

There is no other edition of Mixcraft on Steam to remedy this.

If you're just a hobbyist, sure, £29.99 isn't a high price at all. Go for it. It's worked for me until now. But if you're more serious about this stuff, look into another DAW. You can learn the basics of FL Studio in just an afternoon.

Simple and very easy to use, not as expansive as other DAWs but for the price I paid and the functionality I get I am content with my purchase, decent 32bit VST support is a bonus.

Used mixcraft about 10 plus years ago it was version 4 or 5 i dont remember but thats where my music production journey started , Mixcraft was where i started learning music production ,ofcourse i had switched to other more complex and professional daws but i come back here and there for the nostalgia , this daw is amazing for begginers , or maybe even for light tasks?

i either have a tumor in my brain or I'm wildly predisposed to playing the piano. this program started me on my journey to seeing I can play well. I had a stroke when I was 22 so I don't know if that affects my playing too either way I don't think I would've found the piano without buying this program on sale. I've since lucked into a super cheap korg sp 500 and I have dreams about giant keys

A great program to use for mucking about with Audio Production.

I found it quite easy to get into and spent many hours just creating random MIDI projects.

It's accessible,easy and fun to use and definitely worth the price. I highly recommend it!

Mixcraft 8 Home Studio is the perfect software for producing and mixing. Having used other versions of Mixcraft, this is just as easy to use and there are good tutorials from Acoustica for more depth into the software. If you are just starting out, it has a large range of pre-made loops and sounds ready for your creativity. I would definitely suggest this software and without a sale it is a great price.

To give credit to the critics, a some the items that this software sell's it self on is vacant like the amp sim's. I would still recommend as an equivalent to garge band on windows. Every simple and easy. Yes there's a little Latency in terms of respond time of this product, but that's not so much a game breaker to me as points nuck down for fluidity of the software's mechanics. This product has a selling feature of being simple and easy to use, a good starting point for anyone wanting to get into audio editing. I was able to make backing track's with this software no problem, and within a couple of minutes too. This software isn't free like ardour on linux and garge band on mac, but since it's one of the few editing software on windows that's simple and easy to use, is cheap(only costs $40), and requires no additional software to run then it's fine by me for what it is(A.K.A, the only far comparison is with other windows software because that's the market that it's currently competing in, stating stuff from other software providers is irrelevant to my rating because comparing it to such isn't appealing to who might buy this product's machine's and thus is comparing apples to oranges). Software hook's to external audio gear with no problem. The mixing of the software is very limited in what it can do though. The software's internal instruments are simply OK, and not a selling point of this software. Now, Let's beak it down:

software's fluidity of mechanics - 3.8/10;
was clunky, and as stated before, this product had Latency in terms of respond time. For this reason the very important value editing software reviews has a 30% due to it's sluggishness.

software's ease of use - 4.8/5;
this has to be it's main selling point, but if you switch over to linux or mac this is less of a selling point, and that is the reason for the 90%. Simply couldn't compete on other market's.

software's price - 8.8/10;
good but not a great deal for what it is.

software's ability to hook to the needed external gear and quickly with no problem - 8.8/10;
This is one of the easier products to hook to external gear. No problems here.

mixing component's in the editing software - 5.5/10;
really lacking here, thus earn's a 55% from me.

inbuilt instruments in the software - 3.5/5;
mediocre quality here for editing software.

overall rating for this game from me is a 32.5/50(70.4%, just above what i would give for which is 68% by the way.)

Absolutely amazing software so light and easy to use.. the outcome sound from the finalized tracks is pretty darn good as well.
Would have bought it if it wasn't for sale but for 10$ it's quite a bargain, really happy with it.

does not support 64 bit vsts!!! make sure you DL 32 bit versions
this version also requires that you run it through steam

I was waiting until I figured it out a little better before leaving a review, so here it goes. I bought this for the virtual instruments, and it doesn't disappoint. I have zero experience with any kind of studio software, so it took me a while to figure some things out. Mixcraft 8 has so many features, that someone like me can get lost, but once you figure it out a little bit, you'll be as excited as I am to finally get the music out of your head. I'm sure that once I figure out the rest of the features, I'll be even more excited.

This DAW is incredible. I've been using it for a pretty long time, and it still holds up for someone who wishes to make music independently, or on a smaller scale in general. It also comes with so many VSTs built in, so you can make some neat MIDI tracks as well!

Descent software for composing music. Its a little glitchy with the interface but it is possible to make some great music with it. I have managed to make several great pieces with this software. I wish you can buy DLC for this software and I also wish there would be more updates to fix some of the interface bugs. Although I would say this is worth buying during the sale. I am a cheap composer as I do have barely invested over $100 and have composed music for over 7 video games on the marketplace. Some of the games I have composed music for include FNAF Arcade, BirdBrain, Plasma Ville, Liz and Laz, Vapor Break, and many others.

If you're just starting out, then the price is a steal. Sure, what you get is more limited to conventional DAW software, so if you already know what you'e doing then this probably isn't for you. But if you just want to create some sick tunes and mess around with recording and mixing, then there is no better DAW.

Just keep in mind that it's 32bit only and that version 8.1 hasn't been updated officially since the end of 2018 (same for the non-steam version, they simply released Mixcraft 9.0). Still works great on Win10 and I believe they added a few mini patches to get it working on newer versions of Win10 so that's a plus.

I have gone from Pro-tools Ultimate (Well over a thousand dollars) to this. This is much easier to use and does not crash every few minutes! Just add VSTs and plugs in and a couple of third party's and it's as good as pretty much anything out there!

I have studied sound engineering, and music technology, and over the last 20 years have used a huge variety of software.

Note: I have not yet tested this software with microphone or midi inputs yet, so I can't talk about latency (which is more of a hardware issue anyway).

I am impressed with this software. It is fairly easy to use, and integrates well with VSTi. There are things that I would change, such as a parametric EQ on the mixer, however that can be done with VSTi anyway, so I am not really bothered by that. Another thing I would add would be a toolbar, to make splitting and combining loops easier.

The bundled samples and synths are bit naff, but that is quite common with audio software anyway, and there are plenty of good free synths and samples out there, such as from Native Instruments.

Overall, for the price, I would recommend this, especially if you are starting out with music production. it is a good starting platform before going into more advanced software, such as Cubase, or Protools.

Like many others say in their reviews for this software, if you're serious about making music - like if you want to do it as a job, or even a second job in your spare time - then this probably isn't your best bet.
With that being said, if you like making music for fun and don't want to spend upwards of $40 (~$30 USD), then this is a really great app for doing so.
Easy to use, doesn't even require a MIDI, the musical typing feature does have pitch shifting controls, which are extremely useful; I find myself using that probably a lot more than I should.

So if pricing is important to you, you can get away with using this app, if not benefit from using it.
It's cheap, easy to use, a lot of instrument variation and a fairly good amount of effects with amazing customisation for each effect.
Like all music production software, it'll take some time to get used to, but I'd say it's worth the time it takes to be able to use it effectively.

Great software, great price. The only issue I have with it is that it's called Mixcraft. It sounds too much like minecraft lol.

I love the puzzle aspect of putting some nifty tunes together using what is plentifully available to you. I have since used it as well to record live band stuff here at home and it does amazing things for you. i was recording live drums with a blue baseball mic and used the reverb effects on them. Piecing stuff together is fun. I'm sure i'll be upgrading soon to one of the hi dollar entries eventually . Until then this is a fine product!

Although it has limited tracks (16 total), this is a competent and easy-to-use DAW for a reasonable price. Grab yourself some free VST's and VSTi's and you'll be jamming in no time.

So far so good. Has basic audio distortions. And it is on sale. For the price you can make some pre-fabricated music. Wich is nice. Could use a more sensitive audio volume editor. One it has is nice but it dosen't quite edit the audio as I wish. Nit picking asside it is worth the $20.

I only just recently learned of Mixcraft's existence, and its comparisons to FL Studio. To be perfectly clear, if you're serious about professional-grade music production, you're willing to spend the time learning how to wrangle its interface, and you can afford it, you're almost definitely better off with FL Studio or an equivalent. That said, Mixcraft is GREAT for the rest of us.

It's half the price of FLS, with generally favorable regional pricing on Steam. It's fairly well optimized and stable. It actually lives up to its proclamations of having a user-friendly interface. The inline MIDI editor -- something that is often much harder to work with than it needs to be -- is straightforward and functional in both piano roll and musical notation layouts. The provided default MIDI instrument replacements are all serviceable. It can export raw MIDI files, or effortlessly mix down to several audio formats. There's the expected VST plugin support, equalizers and mixers, a handful of workable FX plugins, MIDI controller support, and plenty of stuff for a musical nitwit like myself to play around with. I can finally have some fun untethered to the spastic glitchfest that is ACID Music Studio.

Now that I'm done singing its praises, I should also caution that the only version sold through Steam is the most basic edition of the available three; most notably it has a limit of 16 audio tracks per project, and only supports 32-bit VST plugins. Even to as unserious a hobbyist as myself that can be fairly limiting, but while it could use clarification, a Steam purchase DOES qualify you for an associated account, product key, and upgrade discount on the Acoustica website. You just need to go through customer support to get it set up, which I would recommend doing ASAP so you're all set up in case of future sales. I managed to snag the Pro edition for an extra $30! That being said, Mixcraft 9 is now the new hotness and it's not on Steam. MC8 can be upgraded to MC9 for $40 if upgrading the same edition, or $100 if going from Home to Pro. Be forewarned, insofar it seems like they've ditched Steam with the release of MC9, but MC8 is still pretty solid.
