The games which will need to be online for playing are generally not recommended by me. No way for singleplayer Games...

This is the definitive Metal Gear Solid V Co-Op game. It's zombies, tower defense, the single player story has a wacky time travel plot that will probably surprise you at points, and for the price it's not a bad game. On sale for less than full price it's an absolute steal.
If you want a co-op FOX engine zombie defense game with shooting, melee, subclasses and specializations and some good customization for your 4-man squad, this is the game you want.

If they make more content to co-op I might recommend this game if its on a discount.

Weapons are unlocked by levels and blueprints obtained by you during missions. Enemies are also zombie like they have huge crystals instead of heads that you can shoot for crtis.
The map appears to be the same only it is shrouded in fog called dust that you can't go through without oxygen mask. It also has the element of hunger and thirst that you have to keep aware about.

Step 2. Enjoy a slow paced, survival game.
Beware that it is very, very slow to start. It takes about three to four hours to get the hang of things.
So if you like a slow-paced game, centered around resource gathering and management, mapping out the world as you explore it and cheesy writing, you will probably enjoy this game.
Play with a controller.

On the whole the game is fine just slow and boring in some parts with a pretty aggressive survival mechanic that gets more aggressive depending on where you are in the game or how much you carry.
Biggest gripe with this game is the image below. It is single player however if their severs are down this game will not boot and this is why it will maintain a negative review.

The Story is serviceable, it has some nice comebacks but the writing is really not that good....which is ok, it's a survival game, it's about me not dying not about some sad or sobby story( that somehow people love today).
The gameplay is really solid, so many choices, so much exploration that rewards you with new recipes.
The game keeps going after the campaign with new things to find and fight.
After you get to Africa things will become much more dangerous, different enemy types will make their appearance so you have to adapt your strategy.
The base management is fun, it has elements of mgs5 mother base mixed togheter with base building, you really have to find ways to sustain your comunity and assign the right people to the right team.
Overall i would say it's a good gaming experience and i wish they would make a sequel.
It saddens me to think about how the developers must have felt when they got bombed by negative reviews of people who didn't even go past the tutorial.
Buy this game if you're into survival games but probably wait for a sale(who buys game at full price anyways)

It reuses a lot of assets from TPP, but for the most part uses them better than TPP ever did. Empty buildings and deserted forests are actually used for stealth gameplay. You actually sneak INSIDE of buildings instead of just boring sandy plains. You don't have to watch the fucking helicopter loading screen every single time you do a mission. There is no fulton or tranquilizer guns (thank god). The base building is more involved and entertaining than TPP. Exploration and moving through the game world is way more engaging and fun than TPP
Everyone said how much they loved playing in the Fox engine, and this is more TPP-esque gameplay while offering a new-ish experience.
I'm surprised how much I enjoyed this game.

Despite all the haters this game is really fun, it's a cross between zombie survival and MGSV and it plays ALOT like dying light minus the janky parkour.
If you like having to craft your bullets instead of being given hundreds for free in MGSV, give the game a try. If you don't like survival games, well, it's in the title what did you expect.

You may be limited to a decent single player game and a struggling co-op mode (unless you find a discord or get a group on here, or have IRL friends to play with) but the fact is if you can get into it, I can almost guarantee you'll appreciate the time you get to play it...ESPECIALLY if you can participate actively in the online co-op mode.
There are gripes and complaints, especially given the state the game has found itself in these days, mostly about MTs and paywalls... or whatever... and while they're valid complaints, they are also relatively easy to overcome if you're willing to put in the wrench time. I was a hardcore TPP player that managed to do plenty with their FOB by farming MB coins the old fasioned way, didn't pay one penny. So I have no problem with the grind to unlock another character slot or more away teams... (but seriously, some of the fluff content has a LUDICROUS cost associated with it...20k points for a GESTURE? maybe for MUSIC, but that is only 1k points. 20k for something that is ONLY useful in co-op mode is just stupid though.)
If you get the game and are interested in co-op, ask around on Steam...Discord...Reddit... anywhere there is a group for the game, I'm sure you'll find people to play with (although they may be from France or Japan.)
See you on Dite, Captain :)

12 to 24 hours in real time I have to wait to make a base dig ?
You have to f*cking pay to have more than one save slot ?
Have to also f*cking pay to make more than one exploration team ?
It's the kind of shenanigans you would expect from a sh*tty mobile game, not a full price game, that's terrible.
Apart from that I enjoyed the game a lot, the story could be better and it's pretty grindy but that wasn't a problem for me.
If you want it get it on sale, if you're patient you can get it for 75% off easily.
Edit: Once you finish the campaign and exploring the whole map, the game become uninteresting really fast too because you're alway doing the same sh*t in the same map and you don't get anything you don't already have for it.
Sure, I could continue grinding the base dig to make the legendary items, but I don't even care because like I said there isn't anything new to do with it, it's alway the same sh*t over and over to the point I recognise the missions on the spot, that's really boring.

So no, I dont recommend this game. If it werent for the missions where you have to beat back the 3 waves of endless enemies, then I think the game would be just ok but not great. If you have a lot of patience and like a challenge then maybe youll like it. The survival part of the game is decent, but can be quite punishing with resources running out. It has a good open world feeling to it, but the campaign is very linear. You have to use what is called a wormhole digger. and that when the endless waves of enemies are attracted. There were some optional spots I could have done it but did not because it sucks so bad.
There is no difficulty level adjustment either for this game. I wish there was, one that would lower the amount of enemies in those waves.
The graphics and sound is ok in this game and it does play in ultra wide screen after you do a hack on it. If you dont do that then youll have the black bars on either side.
I used an xbox controller. I would NOT want to play this with keyboard and mouse. Another thing that would make the game much much better, the ability to save the game! On the last mission you have to beat back 3 huge waves of enemies, and if you fail then you have to start all over again and fight all 3 waves. If it would save, or let you save after each wave then Id be ok with it. Dying in the game or not completing a mission is just miserable and not fun.

Does it blindly follow relevant gaming trends, being an open-world survival game heavily focused on crafting and resource gather, filled with micro-transactions and modern game design, like daily quests?
Was it built around online play, adding artificial enjoyment to a game by virtue of allowing you to play alongside friends?
The answer to all of these is absolutely, yes.
However, as is ever Konami's saving grace, the game is still good due to the diligence and skill of the team that made it and the engine it's built off of. Despite Konami's best efforts, the shameless cash grab using the corpse of the Metal Gear IP manages to be a pretty fun game, definitely worth a look at if you enjoyed Metal Gear Solid: V.
Also, there aren't really that many micro-transactions, though they do exist.

Game's pretty much a 6/10 if you're really wondering. It's just a massive grind trying to secure objectives and supplies to keep yourself from dropping dead from hunger and thirst. There's potential, but that's all it really has. Some people will enjoy it, but I can see it wearing players down rather quickly on the casual end. Wait for sale. Like a deep sale.

It feels very capcom if that makes sense, story is full of campy moments and alot of happy coincidences but still knows how to create good set pieces and is chopped full of moments that genuinely gave me goosebumps.
Story itself is serviceable for the most part, Most dialogue is told through static screens with text with the occasional image which sucks and what cut scenes there are, are mostly just action sequences.
The single player story took me about 18 hours to get through, and that was with little to no grinding outside of missions, After that there's still the endgame with several new bosses and a coop mode to sink your teeth into so all in all, good value i would say.
Gameplay wise, I'm in love with survive, Considering how overplayed the zombie and survival genre's are, I was surprised how well the fox engine handled both, Progression and enemies are handled very nicely, you'll start off with nothing but a weak makeshift spear, which does fine early on but feels clunky and doesn't deal well with multiple foes, As you level up, you become more fluid in combat, able to dodge, counter and deal longer combo's with more damage, you'll slowly upgrade your arsenal, making use of bow's, machetes and much coveted guns. Despite this however, enemies still pose a threat to you, even at the higher levels with tons of good gear, miscalculating an attack and missing or not staggering an enemy can quickly knock off your health.
Early on you'll only have to deal with a handful of enemies at a time, once you get to the second area, you'll quickly be swarmed from almost all directions, 20 enemies at a time, objectives will start to have hordes around them, and special enemies thrown into the mix, It's a difficulty curve I really like to see, It stops the game becoming a cakewalk and keeps the game feeling challenging without feeling cheap or unfair.
Music in general is great, some tracks are reused from TPP and some or ripped from other konami games, but what is new and original sounds amazing, especially near the end there's a great rendition of the metal gear theme.
In my time I only saw a handful of area's straight copy'd and pasted from TPP which is good and what is reused is done as a subtle nod or reference to that game, though 90% of the assets in this game are ripped straight from TPP which does make the world feel like a rehash.
I didn't encounter any bugs whilst playing, so all good there.
However, Survive is not perfect, to me there are 2 massive issues that make this a tough game to recommend, Firstly, It's an always online game, This is don't fully understand, The game has a singleplayer there's no need for it to be online only, Secondly The game only saves when your at your base camp, On it's own, I would love this mechanic, Would feel super hardcore and just add to that fight or flight feeling you get from going against hordes of enemies, however when paired with it game being always online, ANY disconnection to the server, whether it be on your or konami's end, regardless of time will wipe any progress you might have made whilst on a mission or expedition, This has happened several times, often for no reason and it's the single most frustrating thing about this game. Minor spoilers but the last boss fight in the story takes about 20 minutes of near non stop combat to defeat, any disconnection to the server means you have to replay that from the start, which happened once for me and made me want to stop playing.
The fox engine still looks great though dark environments still look really washed out and band considerably
Overall I would say, I enjoyed survive, It feels more like a mod or labour of love than an actual game, I wouldn't pay full price for it, so probably check it out if it's on sale.
I also would like to say this was the first game I was dying to see the credits more, just to see how many people worked on it and to no surprise, there weren't many, Congrats to the people who made this game, It's one of the better survival zombie games I've played, It's a shame it had to be poisoned by konami's greed, incompetence and reputation

Game has a number of problems, from its cringe worthy story, small open world, recycled assets and basic melee combat. The positives just weight out the negatives. Everything you enjoyed about MGSV is here, from base building, side missions and resource collecting. This isnt a true Metal Gear game and feels like the zombie horde mode you got with COD. I give it a 6.5/10

The story sucks but the gameplay loop is actually fun and the co-op missions and progression is fairly deep.
It's too bad Konami built it like a mobile game with shitty timers. Having 20 hours between each wave is a huge turn off and I stopped playing at that point. But getting there was fun enough and I'm glad I gave it a chance.
At %80 off and some friends you could have a great time.

Although there are a lot of negatives to this game, the base building feels like it has a greater level of depth than the base building in Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain and the salvage missions can be a legitimately fun time (provided you are playing with friends) but there just simply isn't that much more enjoyment to get out of this game.
In conclusion, Metal Gear Survive doesn't offer much that can't be found elsewhere. It fails as a Metal Gear title for lacking the level of depth (in terms of both story and gameplay) that is found in other MGS entries and it fails as a zombie survival game due to the sluggish, frustrating nature of the combat (which is meant to be the main focus!) There simply isn't a good reason to play Metal Gear Survive especially when other good zombie survival games are available on steam like Dead Rising, Resident Evil, or Left 4 Dead.
My Score: 4/10

The story and characters are.. skeletal at best. Dialogue often cuts to a different screen with chat boxes instead of bothering to animate the ordeals. The AI does indeed pester you too much, and the UI being on your person is stupidly large and obscuring - but you get used to both and are able to filter them out for the most part. The inclusion of game affecting microtransactions is disgusting. If you want more salvage teams or to do the second half of a base defence event, pay money. The salvage teams don't even bring much back, and seriously, not even a whole event a day. Actually cuts out half way through, no reward, wait 22 hours for the next part. A lot of the post game seems to revolve around multiplayer too which is.. sort of a waste. You can potentially do it solo but it might be considerably more challenging.
All in all it is.. a thing. It's a side game. It's no Metal Gear Solid VI, but one shouldn't expect it to be. Could do with being longer, and unlocking more of the game before you've finished the story.
Can also say that it seems Konami's business practice towards the events of MGSV, Kojima, and this seem to be well above and beyond a simple disagreement and potentially monstrous, and is a lot of why this gets a tonne of flak.

The story is functional and you meet the usual quirky NPCs that Japanese devs are known for, which I found fun enough and with the proper mindset its enjoyable enough for what it is (takes itself very seriously but its quite campy and over the top at times). If you like action RPGs with base building and exploration of a well made map I'd recommend you give this game a go (it's a bit like fallout 4 but with more of a survival horror focus).
