Wollte dieses Game in VR-SPielen mit Oculus Rift, aber dann musste man feststellen, dass es gar keine unterstützung für die Controller gibt.
Man sollte, wenn man es für VR macht auch die Controller einbinden, bevor man dies dafür freigibt.

Ich fand das Spiel schon gut, bevor ich die VR-Version ausprobiert habe. Jetzt mit der VR-Beta ist es wie ein neues Spiel - Top Übersicht aus dem Cockpit, super Fluggefühl und da sich die Kapsel relativ langsam dreht gibt es auch keine Probleme mit Motionseekness.
In jedem Fall eine Kaufempfehlung und ein Muss bei VR, wenn man sicht für Raumfahrt interessiert.

Bekomme es nicht mit der Oculus zum laufen, alle andern Spiele die ich bis jetzt gekauft habe funktionieren einwandfrei...

Wer schon immer mal auf dem Mond fliegen wollte sollte diese nette kleine Simulation unbedingt in seiner Bibliothek haben. Anfangs ist es schwierig die Balance zu halten, aber wenn man's erst mal drauf hat, absolut der Überflieger.

helps me practice focusing my attention! requires good concentration and the vr experience is mind blowing. best is the slow and contemplative pace. it can be very relaxing.

There just isn't anything quite like it in the world! If you play the anniversary edition (available as a Beta download in Steam settings - lfae) it is possible to play on three monitors with full HOTAS. The flying experience is just unique and very satisfying for those of us who prefer a realistic flight model. The controls are super sensitive and all axes are of the utmost importance, mastering the vehicle is a rewarding experience.

Unfortunately it's also been abandoned and it's rather incomplete and has some pretty bad bugs (which some may a deal-breaker). There's only 3 types of missions and 4 maps, 2 of which are bugged with an annoying START button in the middle of the screen and some control assignments stop working after a while. And Map 2 is completely unplayable and doesn't even display the cockpit. Strange that this would happen considering it's the same vehicle and mechanics.

Totally worth it on sale, for full price and the regular non-beta it's just very dated and only works on one monitor.

As a simple, but extremely challenging VR experience, Lunar Flight is hard to beat. Simply flying from one point to another successfully is very satisfying and the VR environment is hugely immersive despite admittedly dated visuals. It's hard to believe this was one of the first and yet remains one of the best VR simulations.

Works really poorly, there are some minor annoyances that is no quit button, to medium that it takes precedence over other programs, VR isn't available out of the box - you have to download a beta to enable it. Favors controllers and mouse/keyboard isn't a thing. I was unable to play anything since the Steam VR menu was in front of the game the whole time - a MAJOR annoyance.

Can't be arsed to figure out how to fix this ancient game, i'd rather just recommend anyone who wants to experience landing on moons in VR to get Elite Dangerous instead, it now comes with the Horizons expansion included, and ED is THE best space flight experience for VR right now.

Avoid.

The game is mostly a demo. Maps and missions are barely all the same. Just mars give you some different feelings. There is not much to do after you learn the basic, as you only have the basic to do. Specially without any way to extend the game like Mods.

It is sad to say, but even while is still unique in the gender, for the price tag you can just have Frontier Pilot Simulator with 10x more content.

Hooked up my old 360 controller and in conjunction with my Index headset, surprisingly addictive little game. Looks really nice in VR. Not the easiest to control but floating over that VR lunar landscape with mission control chattering in your ear is pretty cool.

There are no down sides. Its a legit, full-physics, 3D remake of Lunar Lander from 1982.
I wish there were 8 terrains instead of 3, I wish there were 25 different mission styles instead of 5, but its a fabulous game. I would pay $25 for it. With Occulus its absolutely incredible.

Realistic, challenging and fun lunar module flight sim, albeit VERY limited in scope. If you enjoy realistic space games I recommend it on a sale, as it is fun, but also you will play everything in about 4 hours, unless you want to hunt for achievements and perfect landings. Nonetheless, give it a try for cheap, there's a lack of games of this kind.

This is simply the best VR experience I have ever had. It’s always fun to come back and do a few missions, especially with the Oculus Touch controllers integration!
You need a bit of time to get used to the controls but the video tutorials of the developer on Lunar Flight’s website are nicely explained and not too long to get you started (try to move only using translation RCS, do not roll or pitch if it’s not for leveling yourself out).
I got this game in the “Humble Weekly Bundle: Simulators 3” all the way back in 2014, and didn’t paid a high price for it at the time. I would definitely buy this game alone again for the 15 € asked price, even if I have only 10h of total playtime, because these moments were just amazing!
It’s a bit sad the development is stopped, because there is still a LOT of potential to extend the game and I think all the fans want more!

To start, this shouldnt claim both Vive support and tracked motion controllers support. It only supports oculus controllers, so as an Index user I'm out of luck. Secondly I can live with that, honestly I have a nice joystick setup and would probably prefer that anyway. However its the LEAST intuitive interface I have ever dealt with in my life. No indication of what you should press to activate things in VR (space by default, and I havent figured out how to change that yet which is an issue since thats also thrust on the keyboard). I also havent figured out how to pull up any kind of menu in-game to change controls. So that means alt-f4ing (cause I also cant quit without a menu), restarting, changing keys, then reloading. Craziness. The game looks great, and may be fun as hell, but the dev sure needs to learn a bit about user experience. I bought this a while back before VR was supported so even if I had the option I would have no call to try for a return, but I think its important to understand these limitations if you are hoping to use this in VR (which, you should, it has insane potential I think). Im going to keep plugging away at it, but... frustrating.

Oh, one other thing. It can ONLY use inputs from one joystick at a time. So if you have, for example, a T.16000 with throttle, you cant use both. I am using a VKBSim Gladiator Mk II and T.16000 for dual stick setup and had to finally learn to use VJoy to combine them into one virtual stick to get this working. Also kinda unacceptable for a game.

The old classic Lunar Lander in 3D!
I don't play it often but when I do I am having fun... most of the time. The controls are easy to understand but it is really hard to navigate your lander where you want it to be. This can be really frustrating (if you are running out of fuel just a few meters short of the next landing pad) - but also very rewarding (if you finally get that cargo delivered after you crashed a couple of times because the extra weight made your lander change direction - especially away from downwards - really slowly).

I tried mulitplayer once a long time ago and I sucked. In my defense: I didn't know what I was doing and I didn't even have weapons equipped... is that possible, actually? Maybe I should go find out...

Anyway: fun game. :)

Lunar Flight is a simple sim that allows you to fly an Apollo style lunar module around four different maps (difficulty varies between the maps) simulating the moon and mars environments. It has a steep learning curve but is extremely satisfying to master.

Initially it feels a bit like playing the classic 8 bit 'lunar lander' type games in 3D but there's more to it than that. Missions include carrying cargo between locations, gathering data from survey sites and recovering lost cargo. As you progress with missions you gain XP and are able to upgrade your ship to make it more fuel efficient and more manoeuvrable.

Multiplayer introduces combat, adding 'sidewinder' style missiles and decoy flares to the mix. Combat isn't easy; changing direction can be hard due to inertia and it's a pretty unique experience.

To start off - if you currently have an Oculus Rift, stop reading and purchase this game right now... It's ok, I'll wait for you to do it.

Done? Good, because this game currently has the best native support for VR available right now. A perfectly realized virtual cockpit with great functionality and UI suited for VR. The sense of immersion is quite spectacular, and the game itself is also very fun.

For those without a rift, the game is quite good as well. It places you on the moon (or mars) in control of a lander type craft, in which you perform missions for experience and cash, with which you can upgrade your lander's capabilities. The lander handles as a low gravity vehicle would handle, and with practise you can pull off some very impressive manouevers. The types of missions available range from surveying certain locations, searching for misplaced or lost cargo and transportation of cargoes.

There is a multiplayer component as well, though I have to attest i haven't really played much of this mode (was having way too much fun in the single player portion of the game)

Overall, I'd heartily recommend the game to anyone with a slight interest in space exploration - and if you have a Rift this is a must purchase.
