Zitat:
Leisure Suit Larry - Wet Dreams Dry Twice is a Point & Click game in the classic fashion, and it comes as a sequel to Wet Dreams Don't Dry. In my opinion it is best to play that one first and then follow up with this. However, the developers did leave an option to recap that story so if you wish, you can also start in here right away.
If you are looking at this game, you are probably familiar with the many sexual themes present within the Larry games. If that thrown into the game does not bother you and you are a fan of Point & Click games, you will probably like this also. If you have enjoyed other Larry games, you will definitely have a blast with this one as well.
Story
As previously mentioned, the story picks up where the previous game left off.
Larry finds himself stranded in Cancum and about to marry. However, everything fell apart unexpectedly and he is once again separated from Faith. He sets out to find Faith.
Gameplay
The game is arranged as a standard Point & Click game and features many hand-drawn locations populated by many old NPCs from before, along with some newer faces. As expected, you will help Larry traverse obstacles and solve puzzles to move him closer to his goal.
In the process, you will be collecting many items to combine, interact with, or give to NPCs. You can highlight things in each room to see what/where you can interact with. Some objects are too large and you cannot take them along, but you can snap a photo with your phone, which also has blueprints. You can use multiple items to create a new item from these blueprints, like a scavenging puzzle, seeing what belongs where.
Some of the dialogues can be quite long. For some people, this may be too long. You can fast-click through some of the dialogue if that's too much for you. The story is fairly easy to understand so even if you skip some of the dialogue it is often not critical and you won't be missing out on much. I think I ended up skipping some myself.
The has multiple saves, definitely a big plus.
Graphics
The artwork is really colourful, like a cartoon. It fits the game perfectly in the tropical settings of the game. The hand-drawn art looks nice with a lot of details, as expected from a Larry game.
Music & Sounds
There are some nice background musical tracks. And as you would expect for a quality modern-day story-driven game, all of the dialogues are voiced aloud.
Controls
The game will only require you to use a mouse.
Pricing
The base price of €34.99 is a bit steep, but you get a quality game with a good amount gameplay. I am at the start of chapter 3 and already have played for 5.5 hours. In addition, according to HowLongToBeat, the game will span about 15 hours for the main story and probably another few hours to see all of the extra content. The current sale price is quite reasonable, and you get an additional discount if you own the previous game.
Verdict
If you enjoyed previous Larry games and are not easily offended, you will definitely like this too. There are sexual jokes and scenes, but no visible genitals on display. There are also no political jokes that I have encountered so far.
I like Larry a lot, because the first PC game I ever played in 1988 was Leisure Suit Larry in the Land of the Lounge Lizards. The essence of the games have remained the same, with the same draw on the audience and gives the same fun. The games have become better graphically and offer lengthier gameplay.
I can easily recommend this game to anyone who have liked previous Larry games or who enjoy Point & Click games and do not mind games with a lot of sexual themes and jokes.
