Journey For Elysium is a story-driven VR game inspired by Greek and Roman mythology. Players will take on the role of an unnamed hero who has passed away. He finds himself on a boat in the Underworld trapped between life and death. In order to reach Elysium and obtain redemption, the mysterious traveller must use all his wits and skills in a series of increasingly elaborate twists and challenges. Along the way, he will discover more about his past.

Ohne scheiß für unter 10 Euro Hammer echt ein super Game habe zwar erst eine Stunde gespielt aber bis jetzt bombe leider mal wieder nur englisch komplett schade! trotzdem mega schaut selbst Lg HundelungeVR .

Ich habe es für 5 Euro im Sale gekauft, selbst hier ist es zu teuer!

Ein ruhiges und sehr atmosphärisches VR-Abenteuer. Die schwarz/weiß Optik trägt sehr zur Story bei und tut der Atmosphäre keinen Abbruch. Grafik, Steuerung und Immersion sind sehr gelungen!

In Journey for Elysium sind wir in der Unterwelt gefangen und müssen die Erlösung erreichen. Wir fahren mit einer Gondel durch die Unterwelt und müssen mit unseren Fertigkeiten immer komplexer werdende Rätsel lösen. Die schwarz weiß Optik tut hier dem Spielspaß keinen Abbruch. Der einzige Kritikpunkt, mal wieder nur in English.

That FUCKING BOAT!

The game starts with you walking off the edge of a cliff for no reason, and uses touchpad controls ONLY to turn (this isn't good enough on the Index controllers. The thumbstick does even do anything. turning could have easily been bound to that too!)

All of that could be excused, if it were not for that fucking boat. It's unresponsive, frustrating controls try to be realistic, but just end up being frustrating when it thinks you're turning and you have to paddle round half the lake to try to get back to the goal. It was so boring and frustrating that I quit.

If you are prone to motion sickness, beware of the boat ride! Sadly I couldn't not handle it and had to refund the game because of it. I only played for 17 minutes and then I had to lay down for an hour because I felt so nauseous (yes I'm a lightweight!!) Otherwise I absolutely loved the atmosphere and the graphics and being immersed in the Underworld. I was playing on a Quest2 with a link cable with no difficulties. I'm just writing this review to my fellow motion sickness sufferers :)

I loved the graphics and the interaction with the game. It worked well on my Quest 2 with the link cable to my Alienware pc too. What I didn't like was that I couldn't turn around and would be sideways and backwards in the game so always had to turn my head, couldn't turn in circles and scan areas with the Quest 2 controllers or at least I haven't figured out how.

I truly enjoyed this story-driven and atmospheric single-player adventure game that tells a story based upon Greek mythology in the form of a walking sim, exploration game (dramatic and beautiful environments), casual puzzle game and a bit of action (climbing and archery). To my surprise, it was made in my home country (Belgium - and I had no idea while playing it) and I hope to see more VR games from this studio. I finished it in a little more than 3 hours.

An interesting story, if not necessarily a happy one. I'd recommend this to people who enjoy story based games. It does have puzzles, but they're quite simple.

Pros:
- Unusual graphics that work surprisingly well
- Rowing the boat works quite well, and is really fun
- Well voice acted
- Interesting story

Cons:
- The first part of the final boss battle was *extremely* frustrating
- The presentation of the story could have evoked more emotion. I think it would have been improved if I was more emotionally invested in the character I was playing.

Verdict: 8/10

Excellent VR content.

- Beautiful and polished. Really great detail and landscapes. LOVE the color schemes with the B&W and colors only for importance.
- Interactive
- Immersive
- Fantastic climbing and rowing mechanics - the best i have tried to date. Took some trial to figure out the rowing but once i got it it was super fun. [spoiler] Maybe its obvious to everyone else, but i started rowing one handed on each side. Instead, use both hands on the oar and drive the boat like a canoe [/spoiler]
- Interesting setting and story does pick up eventually.

Price is a function of your own finances and what it is going for when you decide to buy it. No bearing on the rating. Bit over 2 hours by the time i finish it. At the final part now where my Index crashed (come on Xidax with my new rig...). But the game does save your place thankfully - it happened once before and i was exactly where i left off.

Id say it has enough replay value to finish the achievements down the line and would certainly thing a friend or relative could get a playthrough out of it.

Prefer the turn to be stick based instead of touchpad but otherwise the control scheme was great.

Played on the Rift S.

Graphical masterpiece of scale and beauty. Yeah most of it is in black and white, but there is no colour in the afterlife. Some amazing reflections.

Audio is very good with an amazing voice acted story. Nothing 3D, but it's very good HQ audio.

Gameplay: It isn't the best I've seen for a story driven game, but it does the job. I mean it really could of done with more interaction, more moments I felt I was doing something, than just listening to the story. You can pick some stuff up and even break it. You can (and this is the best I've seen) raw a boat. Leavers and switches plus puzzles keep the game interesting beyond the story. As for the story it is very interesting and it pushing you through the game to discover it all. It's spoken well and has a very high quality feel to it.

I would recommend this game because the atmosphere, scale and story is so good it shouldn't be missed.

A brief, yet unique adventure on the river Styx and into the underworld shows to be a worthwhile and heartfelt journey.

GRAPHICS

Graphics are superb and are the best I have ever seen, hands down! The black and white nature of this game with some effects being golden and yellow fit the game's mood and themes very well. 2/2

Music/Sound Effects

The music in this game is average and shows to be unique and awe-inspiring in later segments of the game. Sound effects are average as there is a nice musical instrument that you will acquire on your journey, which sounds great. There is also a nice bow and arrow weapon which is fun to use due to the satisfying sound effects. 1/2

Storyline/Bugs

Storyline is great and is quite interesting, but has a slow start. However, once the story gets going, you are there for the adventure. The ending is amazing! There are small bugs in the game such as one in one of the final chapters of the game in which there is some map clipping in the sky. However, it's nothing that truly detracts the player from the experience. 1.5/2

Pacing

To be honest, pacing is done very well throughout the game, as the game combines many unique gameplay elements such as archery, music, climbing, and puzzles. Great job. 1.5/2

Gameplay/Length

The gameplay is fun and varied, but can sometimes become boring. In the game, usually nothing repeats itself due to the pacing being superb, but aside from puzzles, it is a glorified walking/rowing simulator with a great story. The true downside to this game is the incredibly short length. At 20 dollars, I expect anywhere from 4-5 hours of gameplay, but for me, it was about 2 hours of gameplay. At this price point, I could not recommend this game, unless you are a true fan of puzzle games. Although, I would definitely recommend picking this game up when it is on sale (this is what I did). 1/2

This hidden gem of a VR game is something I never expected to get such a high rating. Great job guys, but I would definitely recommend a price change in the future to suit the consumer's needs. I give this game a 7/10 (GOOD) and must recommend it to people that truly love puzzle games.

NOTICE - Index Controller Users

Please note that I played this game with Index Controllers and the controls were kind of finicky, but I eventually got used to them. Moreover, this complaint was not a factor in my review.

Um really liking this game so far. Graphics, voice acting, and sound are really good and the game runs flawlessly.
Support for knuckles is not that great but works as of (31/12-2019) Hopefully they will ad better support with an update.

Being from Belgium myself I was curious to see how this game, made by devs in my own country, would play out to be - pun intended. I am a fan of puzzle solving games and mystery adventures, so the concept of this game was right down my alley.

I just finished it after about 1.5 hours of playing. The puzzles themselves aren't too difficult and pretty straight forward while not being too easy either, so if you aren't the best at solving puzzles then I would imagine that it's still very enjoyable to play.

I really liked the atmosphere and art style of the levels. The story is pretty good and the voice acting was great, mixed in with the puzzle solving you have a really solid game.

I see someone posted a negative review saying the game has many issues, I played it on an Oculus Rift S and had 0 issues at all. No crashes, no bugs, everything worked perfectly. So if you are contemplating getting this and reading this review, it's worth checking out.

Just got my VR set recently and really wanted to try this game. I really like the style and different mechanics (ladders, climbing, boat etc.), it's a great VR experience.
However I'd like to notice that those mechanics are also the biggest disadvantage so far. Even with teleport movements, there are still a lot of unusual moving techiques and they really cause motion sickness (even the boat itself, also there are some moving down platforms). I'm not sure is it because myself just getting used to VR stuff or not really well tested mechanics, so probably one should play and find out for oneself.

It has a very slow start and I had no idea what to expect. It's like if Disney did an educational tour of the underworld. But the environments are strike and the story is interesting. It ends up going in an exciting direction with some really cool climbing levels.

A good game; fun and runs extremely well on Vive pro with NO ISSUES.

I highly recommend this game.

A game with good graphics and interesting puzzles. The Puzzles are not that difficult to do but some may have you thinking.

I am still playing the game; have not finished it yet....but wanted to write a review to dispel the one negative review that is posted below. Not sure what his problem is nor what game he is reviewing but it definitely is not a review of this game.

Price is right and if you enjoy adventure type games with an interesting story, I know you will like this game.

UPDATE: Just finished the game..game time 4 hours. I really enjoyed this game and how it ended....overall excellent VR game.

**American developers need to take a close look at this game as it is one of the best VR games I have played in the last year. Challenging but not too challenging and not like a lot of other VR games that are simply sub-standard!

around 2.5 hours of game play. the Art style and story of the game is very well made. The Puzzles are not that crazy to do but some may have you thinking for a few minutes.
really enjoyed the game and how it ended
If your looking for a enjoyable chilled game with some puzzles but a lot of story telling this is that game.
