You make some money.
Then you automate the filtering of stuff.
Then you smelt bars forge weapons and jewelry.
And make some more money.
After this You automate everything! including harvesting, sorting transportation of resources forging
At the end you still get new stuff like 0/1 logic and a lot more.
If you played Satisfactory or Factorio this game is for you.

The gameplay is good, graphics are simple but they look good and everything works as intended (exept the physics, they just spaz out sometimes, especially in a car. I find it hard to exactly place stuff where i want it with the pysics aswell).
After some time the performance just gets worse and worse, even with respectable hardware. you can combat this by saving and restarting thr game and by clearing all the recources but i dont think that you can do that forever (i havent gotten to that point yet). Idk i somethng can be done about this issue but other than that its just a great game

Also steckt man irgend wann einfach im Dilemma fest.
Deshalb leider keine Empfehlung.

1)split screen cutting your view in half while making you watch the 1 other player you can have join you
2)Steam remote play is janky at best and makes for a poor gaming experience
The next is the most important
3) The dev states they refuse to go to a publisher because they will want to adjust some of the quality of life parts of the game while helping with multiplayer, things that would be appreciated like an inventory system.
While i am 100% behind small dev teams, i play many independent games that all offer multiplayer (some with teams as small as 2 people) while this dev is too set in stone about how it has to be exactly how he wants it.
Purchase one of the hundreds of other multiplayer builders and give this one a skip until it has real multiplayer support.

So, here's what I think...
Hydroneer is a perfect game to pass some time. The price to time played ratio is pretty good. (at least for me)
The game as it is (as of December 2021) was really fun. The start is fairly simple and it's easy to learn. The progression is great because right when I wanted to give up grinding, I was able to progress more and get back into it. The grinding isn't long or hard. It's fairly easy once you know what you're doing. However, late game using logic and power is very confusing. There is no clear instruction on what to be doing. Now i'm not talking about a step-by-step manual. I'm just talking about the rules and small things that each item works with. For example, powered pumps have to have a powered water pump in order to work properly. Sure, you can go on YouTube and watch a video on how do it. But that's no fun for me. I like to figure things out, but not all of it. I prefer a hint or some clue on how things work, then going from there.
Moving on, the graphics and overall visual of the game is great. I love the steampunk but also cartoon-ish vibe. The overall aesthetics of the landscape, the markets, and the equipment are great. Kudos to the visual design team!
So what about the actual game play?
The game play is great, the idea of pan mining to automation is great. You start of with a pan, shovel, brush, and a bucket. The process of getting gems is very simple and self explanatory. Then turning in the mined gems to a collector for money. Using the money you get allows you to upgrade tools, build a base, and start automating. (or at least semi-automation)
Overall, this an awesome game for 10 bucks. I'm really hyped to 2.0 and i'm overall happy with my purchase. Keep going developers you're doing great!

I can not really go advising people to rush out to get it, but it all works. It has a pretty rushed feel to it and there is a LOT of repetition to be had with little variance it seems.
I got stuck a good many times, annoying, but there is an unstuck feature. All the equipment seems to work, but is kind of clunky. Often would have to move all over to get the bucket to drop dirt in the pans. Is a video tutorial to show you how to do the very basics, but that is about it. There is starter equipment, then more advanced I suppose? No real details to it. The vehicles, many all look the same but some different prices, not real sure what the price changes are for. I did buy the big grinding looking vehicle, figured it to be a digger of sorts, right and score for me.
If I had to be honest...like I said, it all works...BUT it feels more like a beta than a finished game. I feel more should be added for sure.

Full Review
You start off with nothing but a basic shovel, a brush and some pans for dirt and water: the classic gold digging method. You have to constantly shovel dirt in your pan, add water and scrub for the goodies. This is no way to make some good coin! So what do you do? You forge your found iron and gold into a sword and a ring and sell them at the jeweler in town. You bring a visit to the local equipment shop and buy a couple of pipes. You then install these pipes at the river so that you no longer have to scoop water into your pan: you can just put it under a tap. This allows you to scrub for resources much more quickly.
Let this form of progress set the tone for the game: you constantly expand your operations with new machinery and improved logistics that make your base a little better each time, turning manual labour into machine works, allowing you to focus on more things. The equipment and machinery available is moderately rich in variety, such as automatic drills, conveyor belts, pipe systems, housing items, power and Logic (the game's electronics). Especially the latter, the power and Logic system, albeit simple, has quite an arrangement of powerful options that can both improve your current setup as well as build impressive new setups.
What's interesting about this game is that there's no inventory system. Everything (absolutely everything) has to be carried from A to B manually. Of course, you do have logistic tools to help you out in that such as tractors, pallets and carts, but you still have to load those by hand. This is both a breath of fresh air and a curse. It makes building your base and transporting more items to it feel more rewarding but at a certain point in time, especially when you have serious cash to flash, it can become tedious and feel like wasted time.
On items, because of the nature of the game, collision is an issue. Items that touch the world or other items in a weird way have the tendency to be shot away at high speed, glitch through objects or in other ways disappear. I've had several items fly away and I haven't yet found them back. This is especially frustrating when it happens to a valuable item (small tip: be careful with crafting battleaxes!).
One of the more major shortcomings of this game I find, is the exponential increase in your wealth. You start off incredibly poor, struggling even for basic items and equipment and having to do a lot of manual labour, and then suddenly the switch flips and you're a millionaire with a completely automatic digging, refining, sorting and smelting process to boot. After reaching that point of wealth (which comes sooner than you realize), the motivation to keep improving my base began to wane. You could argue that if you simply like the game, you'd keep building regardless of that, but for me personally I want to feel like what I do is worth it in the form of a reward, e.g. a really expensive piece of machinery or something else to look forward to, to build towards.
The game's optimization has some issues when it comes to how long the game is running. It normally runs pretty smooth but every half hour till an hour, I find myself reloading the save because the FPS dropped to something like 30-40 FPS while I have a pretty powerful PC (that is with graphics set to low and resource saving to off). It's a mild nuisance.
TL;DR
For an eight euro game, this is a little gem, good for a couple dozen hours, if not more. The devs are active, their Discord server is helpful, mods are supported and more content is coming, multiplayer included! The game's content/price ratio is very good and the future looks promising. It has some flaws, but they're not game-breaking and will most likely be ironed out in the future.
If you like building games, especially in the style of Factorio and Satisfactory, this game will most likely strike your interests.

Well done and still improving. No game breaking flaws, and a heck of a video tutorial.
So much fun, our first play thru, so far 9 hours with my 5 year old son.
Parents, you are safe for content with this title!
Fun game for all ages.*
Easy to learn, fun for earn and feel satisfied when you make that first gold nugget! Gems, metal, ore... you have it all. Now... if I could just get a diamond!
*Will take some time to learn controls for the little ones, but entertaining for every age and as challenging as you want it to be, as you dive deeper into mining.
A home run and hope they get into deep core mining late game. That would be fantastic with mine carts!

You start with a shovel and a bucket, and all there is to do is to dig in order to dig. There doesn’t seem to be a goal, other than to dig more, get more money, buy better equipment and to keep digging. And this is why I struggle to describe Hydroneer, because it has no right to be as fun as it is.
There is no purpose or goal, other than to keep digging, unearthing dirt, washing the gold nuggets from the dirt, melting it into an ingot and selling it… eventually automating your process with machines.
Also quite positive is the dedication of the Dev to this title. They didn’t just abandon the game and it feels like its very much in active development.
So if you are looking for a casual game, in which your goal is to dig gold and gemstones out of the depth of the earth… then give this game a try.
The control scheme took a bit getting used to at first, but it works very well once you do. Even without a sale, the game’s price of admission is well worth it.

Digging dirt for at least two hours before I can start some sort of automation is not what I call fun.
That grinding was prolonged by the unconventional control sceme (dropping point off-center),
by missing tooltips, by a missing in-game-tutorial and missing inventory slots.
The game did also not shut down properly after closing the game.
Hydroneer is probably more fun, after the boring start,
but I did not want to miss the refund option.

I personally like the graphics style.
My graphics card is a bit older so it is just a little better than the minimum requirements, which drops the FPS quite a bit, but it is still playable at low settings, and I have definitely seen worse.
The main objective is to dig dirt and sell stuff, eventually you can start automating the process. The entry might become a bit boring when you have to do everything manually.
Automating is fun, there is no limit on how you can do it, the machines are just there to buy and you have to decide what to buy and what to build, so if you like games like Minecraft you might also like this game. The community is great in providing help for beginners and documenting in-game items and mods.
When I first bought the game there wasn't that much to do, but new content gets added and there is a moding community so I think there is plenty of new functionality and items that can be added in the future. However I still think that this is a game one could play without an end.
Considering that this is a indie game, it works quite well. There are Bugs like the vehicle flying trough the air (which can be reset if it gets stuck), but usually nothing that I would consider game breaking. The Developer also seems to listen to Bug reports and tries to fix them which might make my comment on this already outdated if you read this in the future.
If you are playing on Linux, this game works with Proton out of the box without any changes to the settings.
All in all I can recommend this game, if you like sandbox games.

There's just not really any content. That enjoyable idea of harvesting the earth is all there is, and its fun while it lasts, but the absolute moment you create an advanced system the fun's over, because you can make a bunch of money, but there's literally nothing to really spend it on. There's plenty of building blocks and environment blocks you can buy, which i gave a go but all of which was just slowly postponing the inevitable. Literally only the beginning grind is the fun part of this game, so after about 4 or 5 hours you've done practically everything academic. There's no workshop content to switch things up, no wide variety of methods to extract dirt, its just incredibly disappointing. It would be alright if it lasted longer than it did, but the truth is you're paying for a game that, yes is a grand accomplishment, but dies so quickly after playing it you're left bitter.
Really wouldn't recommend it.

Looking at all the EA titles i previously bought, and felt punked, this time i am impressed.
I'm very early in the game but it already has a special place in my virtual heart. The love of Detail is amazing.
When you drop a hot smelting bucket into the river and it poofs a cloud of steam with a sound, rendering it cold again,... that's something i value, because there are triple A titles that don't care about such small details.
And THANK YOU for not turning this into another survival game.
So, if you have a couple bucks for another Indie Dev Company, this Game will make you smile. :)
As i said, i was wrong. There are still games that are not triple A but deserve to be.

You have no inventory. The controls are a bit annoying at times, like aiming to drop dirt or water into anything, or sitting things down . Carrying money and ore in the bucket seems easiest way but it gets old too. I think this game has potential. I hope they adjust it to make it more fluent and fun. I keep falling in the hole I dug and at first I found a lot of gold ore but lately I'd been getting less and less. I don't know if it's where I dig or how deep I dig. I think a wheel barrow may help, if nothing else.. IDK. For me, it is missing something and some of the actions of trying to earn get a little tiring and a bit old, repeating itself. But I got it on sale and think perhaps it's worth $7.
The lanterns don't really seem helpful, especially laying on the ground. It gets really dark and when the sky looks bright you still can't see the ground.
Maybe it's because I've been playing Elder Scrolls, House Flipper and Cooking Simulator and am familiar with their styles?
At least the save ability is convenient. :)

Misleadingly Advertised Early Access Game
I've given this game a pretty solid crack and unfortunately I can't recommend it in the current state. I am cautiously optimistic that it will improve and will be coming back to it in the future. There's a lot to love though so watch this space.
The Good
Don't let some of the negative reviews about the core mechanics put you off. This is a fascinating game that makes some bold design choices. The core limitation of only being able to carry one item at a time is extremely immersive and is executed pretty well. I loved the low-poly visuals, and the world feels beautifully designed. This is a great game to play casually when you've got a lot of time to kill and want a relaxing experience. Throw on some chilled music and enjoy.
The Bad
This game is very rough in places. The sound design is just plain awful but that's the least of its problems. A major major issue is vehicle physics. It's actually hilarious how bad it is. There are plenty of physics collisions which will send your vehicles flying into the sky. Hit that tiny rock a bit too hard? Welcome to the stratosphere.
I'm fairly certain I know why this is happening too. You can accelerate a wheel to insane speed, the moment it hits anything though, it will send you flying again. By just adding a speed limit to the wheels you'd fix this issue. I strongly suspect another problem is that the wheels have too much mass or the vehicle doesn't have enough. Either way there's nothing to dampen this collision so you bounce hard.
All this aside the vehicle handling is just generally terrible. This wouldn't be such a major issue if it wasn't for the fact that you need to drive vehicles around to haul all the items you need to bring from one town to your dig site. I've got used to saving my game for fear of being stuck in an infinite reset loop which throws me into the air the moment I reset, and lands me somewhere I can't move. It's happened more than once in just under 8 hours.
Another fairly major issue is that you can build things under the ground. Not ground you can dig mind. This in itself isn't a problem but if you cant' see the item anymore you can't pick it up. It's just another example of an unfinished feature. Bit like how buckets wont dump things onto their ground cursor but actually dump slightly back from it.
The Ugly
As my title suggests this game is being kind of falsely advertised. Development is still actively underway with new features and bug fixes being regularly released. Combine that with the aforementioned issues the game has and it's fairly clear that this is still very much Early Access and not a full release. I'm not sure why the developer didn't label this as Early Access other than to give a false impression that it's more finished than it really is.
To add insult to injury the performance of this game is abysmal. I was getting a decent 60 FPS most of the time with a GTX 1070 but it was utilising every ounce of processing power my GPU could throw at it. Given this is a low poly game, I can only wonder if there are no low resolution textures and if the game is trying to render the entire world at once...
In addition to the poor performance, having played this game for a four hour session I noticed performance was getting progressively worse. The core performance problem was my computer running out of memory. So this game has memory leaks. Not only that but they appear to be outside of the app itself. What this means is that if you run this game long enough it will confuse Windows into thinking memory is still in use when it's not. Forcing windows to try and dump memory to my SSD.
I did an experiment to confirm this. The game was crawling down below 30 FPS so I killed the game and reloaded. The performance went from 60 FPS to 10 FPS in less than five minutes. After restarting my computer and then the game, the frame rate held at 60 FPS for another hour or two before I stopped... This further confirms my suspicion that this is an Early Access game as there's been some glaring performance oversights.
Bottom Line
I'm not going to request a refund for this game because I think it's kind of fun, and I suspect I will come back to it fairly regularly. If the vehicle and building mechanics were fixed, along with the performance issues, then I think I'd give it a thumbs up. If you think you can put up with it too then jump on in. It's kind of fun... but you'd better like fishing...

It satisfies a very basic feedback loop of slowly, bit by bit, easing the grind to make money. You go from scooping dirt with a shovel into a pan and scrubbing it for ore to sell, to eventually having an automated bar-smelting conveyor-belt-fed machine.
The problem is the overall goal, the endgame, is... well, it doesn't really exist. You grind and grind, managing to earn more and more gold, until you have the optimal setup, which is now completely pointless because the only goal was to earn enough money to make that setup in the first place. Once you have the optimal setup there's nothing really new to sink your money into. You can buy land, but it doesn't really provide anything new. You can buy another tractor, but you start with one for free. You can buy house pieces and build up a wee little house, but that's purely for aesthetic reasons and provides no benefits to you.
I don't know what this game would need. More crafting options other than smelting and smithing 6 different things would be nice. That would also lead to a better trading market with some more variety. More ores and advanced smelting processes would be great as well.
Having said all that, I have put 25 hours into the game, and it's pretty cheap. That basic feedback loop works after all, as it can be pretty addicting upgrading your mining setup. Watch some videos, and if it looks like your cup of tea then go for it, but if you want a deep, complex experience then maybe look somewhere else.

Would rate a solid 9/10
only reason for the 1/10 is some of the bugs i find in game. They aren't anything too terrible just annoying. If you enjoy some of the other miner tycoon games this will be satisfactory for your needs ;) even better

I don't want to sound like I hate this game it is fun but for a finished product that isn't in early access loosing a portion of your rewards for hours worth of work isn't acceptable. I can deal with equipment spitting loot all over the place IF a portion of it wouldn't fall into the dirt. There are some other annoying things like your truck and equipment shooting off to far areas of the map when they hit something wonky. It hasn't happend to me enough to be game breaking but it is annoying. Anyways fun game but rage inducing if they ever fix the major bug I mentioned i'd happily recommend this game.

The basics Mining/Digging, Cleaning, selling etc are fairly stable a few little issues like ore glitching and so on, But for the most part It's enjoyable. The coins would be slightly better if you had a wallet or something to store them in, which would make carrying stuff from the shop much easier.
Now as a Gathering/Crafting and simulation game I'd have to give it a 1*
but If your looking for a jet engine simulator, Where stuff randomly gets flung into space I'd say 5* would buy again.

It is very fun and I recommend it as its very cheap, but there are 3 things I would like to change! 1. When you drop a map it makes a metallic noise. 2. The turning circle of the vehicles are tiny and quite annoying 3. I have quite a slow computer so could you please make it less laggy.
Apart from that this is a wonderful game that I will continue to play for a long time

I'm glad I did. This is a fun little game with a few basic concepts. Digging for resources, selling them (or crafting them into things) for coins which you spend on upgrading your mining capabilities, building structures, etc. It's a great game to sit back and relax for a few and away from my usual shooter based tactical games. For the price you also can't go wrong. This is a great little gem and with future updates and expanding, I think will evolve into something a lot of fun.
