Alles in Allem:

Grafik: [7,0]
Atmosphäre: [8,5]
Sound: [7,0]
Story: [8,0]
Gebotene Möglichkeiten (Freie Erkundung, Waffen-, & Upgrades, Gadgets etc.): [8,5]
Spielzeit / Preis: [5,5]
Multiplayer/KOOP: [Nicht getestet]
Timesplitters 2: [10,0]

Top-Spiel.

Vorwort: Ah, Homefront.

- Gegner spinnen rum, mal sehr Intelligent mal dumm

Overview: A Monotone Buggy Slog

Homefront is an under-cooked, monotonous, buggy slog that will give you deja vu with the number of reused visual assets and quests it recycles to pad out its 20 (or so) hour main story campaign. That campaign is crafted with a 'freedom fries' level of intelligence and consideration.

The Good + The Bad

Open World + FPS + Light Stealth
On a surface level, the urban street-scapes and bombed out environments of the game are engaging to look at and move through. Similarly the gun-play, number of weapons, upgrades etc is more than satisfactory. There are also light stealth elements that are genuinely fun - at times. The trouble begins once you get past the initial impressions and see how all of these features fit together & develop.
  • Zones - while big - are not meaningful differentiated. From one end (of any given map) to the other you will see so many reused visual assets that exploration feels monotonous & dull. There is not enough distinctive variety that places feel lived in, unique, or have character. For example, you'll never see a small park with trees in any of these urban environments. Games like Dishonored 2, Batman: Arkham City, or Skyrim are gold standards for crafting compelling and unique environments - Homefront's environments feel like an early rough draft by comparison. The dullness of the environments is also reinforced by a lack of reward for exploration. Since all upgrades to your gear/weapons are bought through (what are essentially) vending machines at the bases or radio towers you regain control of, there is no need to explore the environment for loot (beyond ammo or trash items to sell at said vending machines). You will not find a house with an equipment upgrade or a NPC that could give a quest for a new weapon, piece of gear, etc. The only point of moving through the map is to either A) get to the main mission marker or B) kill a few NPCs at a location to regain control of said location for the resistance (thereby lessening the number of enemies in that zone).
  • Gunplay is more than serviceable but runs into the biggest failures of the game - the AI of NPCs & NPC pop-in/out. This is one of those games where you run around a corner and NPCs will suddenly appear or disappear. NPCs are also seemingly too smart at times and know exactly where you are, with wave after wave darting to your position after sniping only one of them (from far away) or in open combat they will run back and forth never being sure of what to do (presumably from bad path-ing code?). These failures are the biggest reason the game feels so unsatisfying on every level. The core experience of a game like this is running through environments and shooting things. For that to be compromised with bugs ruins much of your experience with the game.
  • Light Stealth is at times fun - but usually annoying and painful. When alarms sound, enemies will hunt you for far too long. There's no upgrade or equipment that shortens the time it takes for enemies to reset to normal. Animations for stealth kills take too long, leaving you vulnerable to being spotted. The silencer on your pistol is not treated as a silent weapon requiring you to use one of your two other (precious) weapon slots (if you truly want to use a silent weapon like the crossbow) and remain unspotted.

Story + Voice Acting
The main story campaign is cheese-ball, thoughtless, xenophobic, black hat vs white hat garbage. If this were a game that embraced the camp factor and played into it I might respect it more but the game actually wants you to take it seriously. There is not even a moment of comedic levity in all of its dire seriousness. This is G.I.Joe vs Cobra but without the ironic understanding that such things are for clueless children.

The voice acting, at least for the main characters, (while a bit hammy at times) is on the whole competent. The deficit is more with the cringe-worthy script the actors have to read at times rather than the actor's abilities themselves. However supporting voice work for NPCs walking around the world, the radio disc jockey, etc are all groan inducing.

Technical

Not many hard crashes but plenty of annoying bugs.
  • NPCs in the game will pop in and out when you run from one area to another, or around a corner etc.
  • NPCs and objects will also sometimes clip through objects, float above ground or appear half-below the ground.
  • If you're using a lower resolution than your native screen resolution the game will never open to full screen mode. You will have to minimize your game and then reopen it for the full screen option to enable itself. (You can also go to the graphics options when you start the game and change from full screen to something else and then back to get 'full screen' to take effect).
  • A few hard crashes occurred when playing or finishing the DLC campaigns

Conclusion

Avoid - even on sale. There are far better open world, FPS games worth picking up. Homefront is just too much of a copy and pasted, dull, buggy slog, whose core game-play loop of capturing bases and radio towers in an open world wears out its welcome too quickly to be worth your time. Forgettable in every way.

It's time I pay my appreciation. After multiple attempts and playthroughs, I finally could complete it, that's a relief. Because I encountered some massive bugs that broke it for me. I recently figured something had to do with my system. So I tried once again this year, from the start and it paid off.

Despite multiple failures, I played it and I wasn't exhausted or it became repetitive for me at all. It was worth it every time. I have never tried the resistance mode though, all those hours are from the main campaign. I think it's the gameplay, optional activities, and extra missions that do the tricks. My playthrough experience, each time, was very solid and engaging. There are issues, obviously. But I prefer to look at the bright sides. I'd like to make it depictive.

9.2/10.0, A not so well-accepted by everyone, but rather a solid one for me. It shares an appealing story-line and a creatively designed gameplay.

Story-line

As for the story, it was well-paced and left a satisfactory when it ended. There were some elements that accompanied the story and gave it proper immersion to explain its intensity. It explained the aspects of "guerrilla warfare" and the perspective of the characters towards it. The characters had very likable personalities as well. So overall, it was all good to me.

Gameplay

I've got tons to say about it, but I'll make it brief. It is the most contributing thing to this game. I definitely liked the way the whole resistance movement works here. Also, there's enough freedom to execute a mission, using weaponry with complete customization and use of other supportive materials.

I definitely liked playing around with customization. There are tons of activities and extra missions of multiple types out there apart from the main ones and that's what kept me sticking to it. With some hours of play, you can pull a well-choreographed execution.

Visuals

The quality of the graphics is very good. Sometimes it may look slightly washed out in some areas, but the contrast looks more than good at darker areas. The reflection and the lighting are also very appealing to look at. As for the animations and designs, it was so flawless. The settings and the designs for each location are commendable as well. Behavior of the environmental elements and settings were noticeable enough to differentiate between locations.

Sound

The sound setting and quality of each object, weaponry, situation, and action are satisfactory to hear. For instance, I mostly went for "headshots" to hear a certain confirmation sound.

So, there it is. Knowing its reviews, I'd still recommend it to give it a try. I read there were some difficulties when it was in the development stage. There might be some issues, but can be dodged.

It's just OK, same with every other open world games, it's fill with mediocre side quests and random events. The game is not well polished as well, I have encountered many bugs, for once, the time goes super fast and another time some random carton box stuck on my head and I moved around with it for mins. I have complete the game and just want to see how the story goes ignoring most of the side quest and random events. The game designer write about how they went through 4 years of development hell in the credit, I respect what they have struggled through but the game needs to be better. Now I can safely remove the game from the Hard dirve.

I haven't played this game since like 2017 but this game was so buggy and so bad I of all people actually gave up on it. I stopped caring and that's a first for me. I'll play low budget indie games , small games , etc. This was so poorly done i just couldn't bare to play anymore after 17hrs . The side objectives were repetitive , The game was full of bugs and .. ITS STILL FULL OF BUGS ??? ACCORDING TO THE RECENT REVIEWS ! The only reason I'm leaving this review is to save someone the trouble of buying it for $20 and then realizing you wasted your money for absolutely no reason.

The plot is boring , the writing is terrible, the world is dead and colorless. The models are just generic and none of the characters are even worth remembering . The best part about the game is the opening sequence and the fact that the devs used motion capture but that's it. The game is just trash. The only reason for buying this game would be to try to find any unfound easter eggs that maybe no one has found yet . Maybe you want to be the first to find some undiscovered easter egg if it even exists .... other than that i feel sorry for any gamer who buys this .

Bugs , Bad , Boring , Bland, Barely playable , BuLLSh#T and Bogus

I was very curious about this game at first and the graphics are really nice. There are some nice science fiction elements in it too and a strong feeling of oppression similar to Half Life 2. The enemies are everywhere and they are technologically superior which could make them very threatening and satisfying to overcome.

However Homefront The Revolution has a serious difficulty balancing problem which makes the game frustrating to play. The story and characters are kind of crappy and boring too while the gunplay is a bit janky and unreliable.

They were trying to go for a kind of guerrilla warfare style with the combat but it’s just not implemented well enough. It really seems like it’s gonna be a fun and interesting game at first but it actually gets quite frustrating and boring pretty quickly.

I came back to it twice to try and finish the campaign but in the end I just lost interest. It's a game that shows a lot of potential but just fails in some fundamental ways like being satisfying and fair in it's gameplay.

In terms of a first person shooter that accurately simulates urban guerrilla warfare environments, the developers did an amazing job with this game. Graphics are excellent and controls are very good. The soundtrack features the same playback loop again and again, but it's got a cool menacing vibe so you don't really get tired of it. The criticisms of the story and the dialogue are basically true; it's not an innovative game in that regard. One thing that I personally appreciate is the stealth angle, if you choose to play that way. You can go into full sniper mode if that's your thing.
HTR isn't a masterpiece per se , but in my opinion it qualifies as being a very good FPS. If you can grab this on sale, I'd say definitely go for it!

Not sure why this game is not more universally liked. I enjoyed it, mindless but varied enough to keep things interesting and puts you straight in the action. Preferred the story telling of the previous one through newspaper clips etc but this is great in short bursts. Kind of like just cause 2, its just fun to run around conquering areas in quick succession

This game has so much potential, I want another Homefront game. A little less bugs, a little less repetitive, those are the only reals flaw which strikes out this one, otherwise I really like the open world, the characters and the absolute gem of a gameplay. I actually loved this game so much, I completed it twice. Loved the DLC and the voiced protagonist. Just make another one the way you guys made the DLCs, it gonna be a Homerun! It would be amazing if it would be a mix of Story of Freedom Fighter, gameplay of Far Cry 4, and a world like Arkham Kight/ Crisis 3 but bigger with updated graphics. I want another one and I do recommend this game. Start a crowd funding and make another one for us! Big Fan!

The story is a joke and filled with cringe, Dana Moore is one of the most badly written nonsensical of a character. The cutscenes on the other hand are really well made, voice acting and animation are quite good given the games budget.

At the end the DLC's which are quite good and save this game from a negative review, so really recommend getting the three DLC stories extensions.

After putting in almost 60 hours in this, I am ready for my verdict. I think this is a must buy especially on SALE. The single player are nothing special even on hardest difficulty it's not that hard. The cut scene are well made though. The DLC's are AMAZINGG!!! Head and shoulder's above the main campaign, it just shows how compromised the dev team when making the main game. I wish they could have more resources and time.

Resistance mode (Multiplayer) also is a BLAST. Solo or with friends they are quite challenging even on Easiest difficulty. All in all a BIG Thumbs up to the dev team for this hidden Gem.

I like the game overall. It's like Far Cry, but I like this game's setting more. I really like the urban guerrilla environment. I followed a reviewer's recommendation of disabling HUD and it really makes it more immersive. The story and characters are incredibly dull. The game's protagonist doesn't speak, and I hate that in games.
If you're okay with Far Cry, it's likely you'll be okay with this game.

This game is terrific and very enjoyable. However, imagine playing a game while fearing losing your progress due to a sudden power outage, game crash, or even hard disk malfunction. Well, no need to imagine that because this game has it all. Like, come on, Deep Silver. We are no longer in the 90s. There is the cloud save feature, and it is so simple to set up.

Played the game for 5 hours and the lack of gameplay becomes apparent very early on.

It isn't an awful game, there just isn't anything to do. Stale combat, boring story, mediocre voice acting, lack of side-content, no incentive do get collectables as they don't reward you with anything after you get a certain amount...

For example, in every area of the map you need to collect five radios but there are well over five. For every radio you collect after the fifth one you get absolutely nothing. Same goes for every other type of collectable.

The story missions are awfully repetitive: Go to place > shoot dudes > repeat. Side-missions follow the same structure and provide no gameplay variety.

If I were to applaud something about this game it would be weapon customisation. While there are only a few weapons in available, you are provided with an impressive customisation system you can use on the go.

Homefront: The Revolutions isn't awful, just sub-par. I'd recommend it only if you like the genre and can get it on a sale like I did.

If only it ran this well on release, no one would talk about Far Cry.

Performance
Today you can run it smoothly at 4K on a gtx 1080, at release, it was ridiculously unoptimised. Excellent graphics, even by today's standards.

Gunplay and enemies
Unexpectedly large variety in weapons, as each gun can be turned into three radically different weapons. Great attachment system allows you to tailor your tools to the scenario, just don't forget the game won't pause while you do it. Don't worry about your carrying capacity, as you get a third slot after the end of the first yellow zone.

Guns kill in just a few bullets, and that includes the player, so be sure to use cover.

Enemy variety is limited and you've seen everything by the third level. Still, the combat AI can be a challenge, and punishes stupidity. I had fun, but perhaps spacing things out would stop it being repetitive.

Stealth
Sneaking is important, In the red zones, it allows you to get the drop on the enemy. but in the yellow zones, it is a matter of life and death as dozens of soldiers and battlebots swarm your position if you do something noticable. The stealth mechanics are functional, with many tools to make use of, and pitfalls to avoid..

Missions
The main missions are fun but not spectacular, The side missions add new twists to the repetitive gameplay. Strongpoints add a fun climbing/puzzle element to the game.

Plot/Setting
Huawei/Samsung take over the world. Obviously oppressive, but not evil-for-evil's sake.
A bit silly, but gives you a backdrop for an immersive guerilla campaign experience.

Annoyances.
Player has a very narrow cone of hearing, muffling the voices of any NPC you aren't directly looking at.
Sometimes the AI derps out, but no harm done.
Sometimes AI teammates and NPCs block your path.
Alerts can drone on for a while,

Conclusion
Buy it on sale and buy a copy for a friend to play multiplayer with.

I never really understood the hate this game got. Sure it's never going to be game of the year or greatest of all time.... However it has a certain something that does make you play through the story with a sense of enjoyment.

I look at it like this, This is pretty much Freedom Fighters 2 that we never got, It has a great story to it (and yes there is Timesplitters 2 hidden in the game). The open world is a little less exciting and there really isn't a reason to go off and explore. At full price it's not worth buying but in a sale for under £5 it's worth every penny.

Although the character animations can be glitchy on triple monitors and the voice clips can be repetitive and even with alot of the missions being rinse and repeat; this game is unique and enjoyable and visually stunning. It clearly isn't a Triple A polished game, but it is a great story with an engaging world, with vibrant gameplay that can keep repetitive missions alive.

I experienced almost no bugs, and the ones i did experience were not game breaking just a little immersion breaking.

You can flash through it in no time or take your time with every single side mission.

Ultimately, if i had the chance i'd play it all over again with fresh eyes. I just really hope they make a sequel.

It was irritating in the extreme. so all around a decent game that is fun just watch for the last mission or two.

If you are OK with the repetitive sandbox play of the Far Cry franchise, Rage franchise, Crysis franchise -- you'll have nothing to complain about with this one. It is the same game play template -- just wrapped in a Red Dawn presentation in occupied urban Philadelphia.

This is actually a great game. The bugs people here are talking about are patched up now. Very enjoyable and immersive environment where you do feel like a member of a military resistance. Not for everyone , as with most open world games a lot the things to do revolve around capturing different districts/territory within Philadelphia from the enemy, this maybe tiresome and a bore for a lot of people, but people like me who enjoy this kind of thing I find it quite satisfying.

Previously owned the game on Xbox One. A Day One version, which still contained bugs and issues. Now, it doesn't. Well a small amount but not many as I see. Back then I am one of the person who anticipated this game, even when it has issues and problems with the development team. Such as Crytek screwed their UK Division that led them into Dambuster Studios because Ryse Son of Rome didn't sold well apparently.

You'll play as Ethan Brady AKA Birdy, a civilians who joined the American Resistance to combat the invading force of North Korea Nation because The America doesn't invented Apple so NK created their own. You used guns and many customized arsenal and engage missions to combat the KPA forces.

It's basically the 2012 RED DAWN movie, but that movie focuses on Youngsters and kids being caught in the battlefield. This is the same, but it's a game. You can engage in a serious of sabotage operation and takeover spots and base by conquering the KPA and take over the spot. In-return, you will received an amount of reputations and cash to buy weapons and upgrades. Basically it's Far Cry but in American City (specifically Philadelphia).

As for the cons, some the bugs I notice still remains. Such as enemy floating and glitching through the grounds and it was still a rough launch. Personally, I think the game is alright, since I still enjoyed it in a console days and It's the game I really enjoyed.

In AMD A12 9720p RADEON R7 / 12 COMPUTE CORES 4C+8G w/12GB RAM, the game is...UNPLAYABLE! But here's the thing, I don't give a sh!t because the game is -80% on Steam and it keeps showing up on my wishlist during several Weekend Sale, so, I'm saving this for the future. Highly recommend to get this game when it's discounted.

If I hadn't got this in a bundle, the opening cinematic would've been enough for me to request a refund. The original Homefront portrayed North Korea as the underdog who persevered in their conquest of South Korea and successfully invaded the US later on.

In H:TR, the US is so gullible and desperate for an edge on the battlefield that they completely outfit their military with North Korean weapons. Then all North Korea has to do is turn off the US military using a software backdoor and invade under the pretense of helping..?

Anyway, cut to the player. You're waiting for a guy named Walker with two resistance members. The North Koreans show up to beat the crap out of you and kill both of the resistance members during a sloppy interrogation. Walker shows up, kicks some ass John Wick style, and immediately gets incapacitated.

Walker tells you how to find the local resistance cell, that they'll help. Finally after 10 minutes of cinematics you're ready to play the game. Walk through some dark streets, watch your framerate plummet intermittently, hack a device on the wall that doesn't appear to serve a purpose beyond being hacked, and then watch Walker get arrested.

At this point it isn't even established why I'm working with these buffoons. If this were me, I'd cut my losses and find the nearest bulgogi truck. Nonetheless I forge ahead, enter an abandoned subway tunnel and make my way to the local resistance cell. These guys are sure to help me get Walker back. I don't know what I need Walker for, or why he's helping me, but whatever.

I'm blinded by a floodlight after navigating through the ruined subway station. Two resistance members punch me in the face, accuse me of being a spy, talk about killing me with a baseball bat, but ultimately decide to bring me to some lady. Then a woman with eyebrow piercings and neck tattoos tells me she's going to cut my nipples off.

Alright. FUCK THIS GAME.

This is by far the worst prologue I've ever played through. This story is trying to hard to be edgy that it hasn't even tried to establish why I should care about the North Korean occupation. The people I'm supposed to work with are incompetent sociopaths. Of the six resistance members I've met, 3 are dead or captured and the other 3 have tried to kill me.

I played a little more beyond this point but I'm so turned off by the writing that I just don't care enough to keep going. There are other problems like everyone in the resistance looking like a member of a 90s punk band, but that could be a matter of personal taste.

Don't buy this game. The writing is bad, the performance is bad, and there are still bugs in the prologue 5 years later.

Underrated game. Glad to see the reviews picked up. The story line is far better than expected and really got me hoping for another game!
The weapon customisation is good I just wish there were more weapons and more customisation options. Like a handgun can become a sub machine gun but that's it or have a silencer. No extended mag, no scope, no stock etc, I think in total there is like 6 weapons and a few variations.
The story is great and some missions left me pausing the game to appreciate how awesome what happened was. Like weapons and customisation though, there just wasn't enough. If you just did back to back story you could easily do it in under 10h.
There is no side missions but there is plenty of other things to keep you busy. I am nowhere near done and I am at 24h currently. The online can be done solo or with friends and seems to be fun, although hard to begin with.
The world is attractive and really well done. The open areas are big enough to be done right. It's not a boring giant open world with nothing in it. Its medium size maps that are really well designed. Overall a solid 8.5/10 for me.

I have played this game on the PS4, Xbox One and the PC. I absolutely love the story that this game is about. Fighting back against an oppressive government within the United States. A government structure that happened as a result of bad deals by the government with a foreign power.

Fighting for the freedom that the Founding Fathers of America fought for in real life.

I found the missions and objectives challenging and fun. The character stories were enthralling enough to keep your attention from start to finish. Definitely recommend this game.

“You say you want a revolution
Well, you know
We all want to change the world”
~The Beatles, Revolution 1

That awkward moment when everybody hates the game but you're like “Wait, wait, wait... what are you talking 'bout? It's awesome!”. Don't get me wrong, though. I'm not trying to say that Homefront: Revolution is a perfect game, or something like that. It's far from it. Also, I totally can't recommend it to everybody. So, don't just look at my thumb up, but read what I'm trying to say first. Before making a decision about buying this game, you need to understand a few things.

First – it's nothing like the original Homefront. Even though Revolution comes with a similar Tom Clancy-like motif (yeah, we're still fighting evil Koreans here, deal with it) and that Goliath thingy is still here, what we have here is a totally different game. Different kind of game, actually. The original Homefront was a generic online-oriented shooter with nothing really special about it and single player campaign existing for one reason – to make an excuse. “Hey, fellas! You don't like online shooters? Worry not! Our game also has single player mode! What? It kinda sucks and is only five hours long? But it's there, right?”. That's how it worked in the original game. Now, in Revolution it's entirely different story.

What we have here is a single player... stealth game. That's right, stealth. And even though setting here reminds me more about Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, the actual gameplay is more like Thief reboot. Not exactly like that, of course (far from it), but still. It comes with the same exact confusing map, you're free to either hide or test your luck by using the raw force, you'll check the environment for valuables... In other words, like I said, even though technically, there's still quite a lot of shooting here (which can't even be avoided pretty often), there's also quite a lot of Thief this time. Do not expect Homefront 2 here. It's an entirely different game for different kind of players. End of the story.

Another thing you should know is that... this game is far from being polished. And I'm not talking about bugs. Even though yes, this game was pretty buggy on start and even now there's a few annoying bugs left. Nothing big, but still. I'm talking about the fact that Homefront: Revolution isn't one of those games that play themselves. If you know what I mean. You know how in some games you just press the button and then watch things happening? Press X and your character will grab the right ledge pull himself (or herself) up and maybe even kill somebody. That's pretty much how things work nowadays. I mean, seriously, most of the AAA titles work that way. But not this one. Here? It's surprisingly old school.

Remember the times when even the most basic things like getting on the ledge were pretty challenging sometimes? Just because your character wasn't sticky as a bloody Slimer? That's exactly how it is here. And that's one of the reasons why I ended up liking this game. It feels old school. In a good way. That certain moment when you try to reach a certain place and fail? That certain “FFFFFFFUUUUU!!!!” moment? It's here. Quite a lot of people would hate this game just because of that, but personally? I actually miss that in games. Just because I prefer playing my games, not watching them. Homefront: Revolution is a game for old-timers and those who just feel that modern movie-like AAA gaming is boring. That's the second thing you should keep in mind.

The third one is – it's also... kinda smart, really. Well, not smart smart, of course, since clearly, this game is not RHEM (hey, Knut! How's the Special Edition of the third game goin', man? We need it!). But still, it's way smarter than our usual Far Cry stuff. I mean, Revolution is an open world game. Well, ish. The world here is divided by pretty small maps and even though you're free to travel between them at any time after you unlock them by playing main story, the world here doesn't feel that open. But, well, it's kinda open world. Ish. And, like in most of such games, we've got outposts to capture. But wait, wait, wait. Don't start sighing yet. I know, we're all tired of all that repetitive outpost bull from Ubisoft's games. But that's actually where the fun part begins. See, in this game every outpost is like... unique puzzle. That's right, puzzle. You can't just grab a six pack and start clearing the map with pizza in one hand. You will actually need to figure things out. For example, one of those outposts will require you to get a bike, then find a way to get it on the roof (you'll need to get inside the building by foot and unlock some doors first) and then use that bike to power up the equipment. Again, I can see people hating exactly that. I mean, thinking is not exactly what you expect from FPS game nowadays. But for those of us who remember the times when such games were actually pretty smart (Duke Nukem 3D, Shadow Warrior, Turok 2: Seeds of Evil and the others that tried to turn maps into something more than just linear corridors)? This game is like a breath of fresh air. Actually trying to figure out how to solve the map? Loved that. This game is one of the very few, in which I wasn't bored to death while clearing the map. Guess, it means something.

Finally, I totally loved... you know... the revolution part. Remember how we used to clear Paris from Nazis in Saboteur? This game offers us something like that. Only instead doing the entire thing by ourselves, we're going... to start the revolution. We'll do some basic sabotage to fire up people (you can even get some fire support from rebels if you need it) and then, when percentage of their support will be high enough, it'll be time to fight back. It's way more simple than it sounds (it's like that with pretty much every unique feature this game offers, even with gun customization, which is really, really basic), but still, it's pretty fun. Just because of that certain feeling. The feeling that you are part of the Rebel Alliance and a traitor. Wait... it's from another franchise. My mistake...

Anyhow, you've got the idea. Homefront: Revolution is not for everybody. It sure may feel too slow, too clunky and too confusing for some people. And it sure comes with some seriously annoying things (for example, you can't skip the talking here, which even I hated). You want some fast AAA game that plays itself? Look somewhere else. But if you want something old school? With modern presentation? Consider checking this one out. In other words, it's a game for people who liked stuff like Styx series and Outward, not for those who prefer Far Cry and The Last of Us. It's a very niche game and you should totally keep that in mind. But when it's your kind of game? You'll totally enjoy it. I did. Dixi.

So, where to begin? I was already vaguely interested in the game, when it came out but I didn't have a gaming rig at that time, so I never bought it until recently, despite some of the bad publicity the game has gotten over the years. Homefront: The Revolution had a big potential to be a hit, but the publisher wanted too much in a short time from a small but dedicated teams.

The Plot (No in-game spoilers): In this alternate timeline the US won the Korean War, but North Korea still remained independent for some vague reason (possibly as a disarmed and neutral buffer state), Kim Il-Sung was then forced out of power and replaced with a more moderate government which instituted economic reforms similar to OTL China. One Joe Tae-se (his father was an American GI) used this newfound economic freedom and founded the APEX Corporation, which invented and mass produced the first personal computer in this timeline (Not to mention he also hired foreign talent, including Steve Jobs and Wozniak). This essentially made North Korea more advanced in terms of innovation and technology. Another important factor is that the Soviet Union survived well into the 21st century and arguably won the Cold War, so when the War on Terror arrived, the US was more restrained in its pursuits since numerous Middle Eastern countries were alligned or backed with/by the USSR (including Iran and Iraq).

Progressively the wars became more drawn out and are essentially endless stalemates. After Joe Tae-se dies in 2003, he's succeed by his son John Tae-se as CEO of Apex, who establishes an Arms Division and proceeds to sell cutting edge weapons and military equipment to world governments, the US among them. Just like OTL the 2008 financial crisis still happens, this coupled with the failing wars and technological dependence on Apex, leads the US to default on all debts, simultaeonously John Tae-se is elected premier of North Korea, this fuses the corporation and state together.

Bill O'Reilley, the POTUS refuses any negotiations with Tae-se regarding the debts. This proves fatal when the entire American military is disarmed overnight as all APEX technology and weaponary had a backdoor, which allowed Tae-se to shut down everything remotely. After these events, the occupation of the US begins under the guise of a humanitarian effort which quickly turns into all-out exploitation of America, her people and remaining resources to pay off the debt. You are Ethan Brady, a resistance fighter transferred from Washington DC to Philly, as you await the arrival of Benjamin Walker, the Voice of Freedom, your story begins.

The Gameplay:

Your experience will vary, depending on the zone you are playing in.

Red Zones are pretty much destroyed and abandoned parts of the city, since they were the battlegrounds of the Battle of Philly (which happened before the game's events), the KPA razed to the ground and walled them off. They say that everything bad is good for something and they are right. As those places are the resistance's playground, which they only have to share with Norks, who patrol the area regularly but are easy prey, if you take advantage of the traps and your surroundings. You can weaken the KPA's presence by taking over strongholds, other strike points and hacking KPA transceivers.

Then there are the Yellow Zones, which are all about stealth and sabotage. Those are heavily policed and inhabited districts, full of poverty, despair and infested with addicts, prostitutes, drug dealers, the poorest of the poor, coupled with civil unrest at every given opportunity. You have avoid not only soldiers but cameras and drones in order to not get detected, because if that happens your death is guaranteed as you'll get swarmed by all enemies in the area (unless you find a hinding spot like a dumpster, a toi toi or a hidden resistance stash) and stay there until the alarm goes off. While doing this, you need to raise your Hears&Minds meter to inspire the locals to resist. This can be done by securing overwatches (eg. an abandoned but strategically placed apartment near a stronghold), damaging KPA infrastructure such as destroying their generators or fuel storages, helping out (giving money to beggars) and saving people (the KPA routinely targets random people on the streets and humiliates or wants to arrest them)

The Green Zone is the most defended and subservient area of the city, where William Simpson, the puppet mayor is operating out of. A strange fusion of Korean-American architecture dominates the landscape of what was once downtown Philadelphia. Only the elite collaborators, diplomats and high ranking officers live here and that's why this place is you end goal. You certainly won't be seeing any poverty, civil unrest or discontent here. In order to succeed, you need to take all other districts to gather the strenght and power to launch an attack on this place.

In terms of enemies, you have two basic types of enemies: your run of the mill rank and file KPA and non-human enemies (which can be used to your own advantage).

Your normal soldiers are pretty weak and ineffective in combat, if they are alone. Once they are in larger groups or are accompanied by drones/armored vehicles, they will overwhelm you, so your best best bet is to run way, if you still can.

At one point you'll run into the shock troops, who are poorly armored but deadly at close range. Their charge is accompanied with a distinct battle cry. If you play on the hardest difficulty, they can take you down in 2 shots, if their buddies won't finish you off.

The heavies are juggernauts with LMGs and strongest armor. They can keep you pinned down, while the shotgunners or normal soldiers flank you and destroy you in a matter of seconds. Your best best is to snipe them form far away before they destroy you. These guys can mess up your attempts at stealth because silent takedowns don't work on them or silent weapons deal too few damage to kill them without alerting everyone around them.

The last human enemy are the snipers. They camp out in ruined buildings or watch towers and can easily take half of your healthbar. You might not see them sometimes, but the game is rather lenient as their laser sights will hit you straight in the eyes, giving you time to find some cover. If you rush them, they'll switch to a powerful pistol (which deals almost the same amount of damage as the shock troops' shotgun), shoot you and promptly pretend to run away and finish you off. The best way to get rid of them is to use their own medicine as some of their spots cannot be accessed at all.

Non-human enemies can be taken care of pretty easily. Armored cars and wolverines (miniature tanks with electric charges) can be destroyed easily with RC Bombs or hacked in order to turn them against the KPA. You won't run into goliaths outside of story missions, which provide sufficient means to tackle them. Make sure to destroy any drones following you as they give away your position. The KPA airship serves a similar purpose as it will highlight your position with a stream of red light. You can't destroy them, so you better speed away on a motorcycle as they are faster than you if they are in pursuit mode.

Some people bash this game for using North Korea as the villain and not China. But in truth you are not fighting a country but rather a powerful and aggressive corporation while NK acts as a vehicle for Tae-se's ambitions (The Norks all use APEX weaponary, their uniforms use the colors of APEX - red, white and grey, the propaganda is just made of APEX adverts..) The game will truly immerse you in a broken and run down but not yet lost Philadephia as you fight to reclaim your freedom from oppression.

Yes there are immersion breaking bugs and sometime dull moments among a myriad of other issues but it definitely deserves a chance, but I woud recommend waiting for sale and not having too high expecations or else you might be disappointed...

I dont get it at all , this game is incredible , maybe a bit short but so good for its time

basically is The Division if it was FPS and with a different story
you gather people going ,and re-taking areas from N.Koreans that have USA under control.

Incredible city mechanics , i feel like its multiplayer sometimes , people react great with the environment and with enemy ai. The City is developing as you progress the story , everything is so alive.
Maybe its the first game i see the AI have enough with the riots and start shooting.

Also motorcycles ? shiit , i was sold enough already but it has open world that you can explore with your motorcycle , How awesome is that ?!

Its sad that it was so hated back in the release .... it really shines in every way . I get it that some people dont like the story but thats not the only thing for this .... half of the gamers dont even listen to the story whatever the game may be .

One of the best games in its diversion mechanic, sure you will have fun:
1) Eventual missions
2) Interesting sujet/plot missions, as they are different in mechanics (in many ways because of WD inspiration, but still original). Surely, plot is simple - so do not await philosophical themes, nor aphilosophical psycho ones.
3) Really useful weapon mods
4) Good and united game stylistics, looks like they have one level designer, who kept all of the ideas in the same brain.
5) Open-world (truely) game - you can go out from boundaries in order to get to another zone.
In-game atmosphere is more much completed than in other games, so your experience will be filled - i have no time to bore myself during this game, although i've completed it trice!
Other important thing to note: good french translation with beautiful sounding (really, try to teach FR then play this game - it is unforgettable experience).

Some of the DLCs can bore (Beyond. it is really not such interesting and have bugs).
Regardless, that some things will be limited in other, than Tough/Hard difficulty, i suggest finishing game on the Normal, and then re-playing with more efforts on Hard difficulty.

Definetely would recommend buying on a sale, but not for a full price, since plot is simple and there's some bugs, that can waste mechanics experience.

Not all good, not all bad. Rightfully mixed reviews.

Maps and atmosphere work quite well, but story lacks substance and in the end it just plainly fails. Modding weapons, exploring and unlocking gear was fun at first, but quite soon you'll have all you need. After that playing does get a bit tedious. Some game mechanics do leave room for improvement too. I.e If you get alert during free roaming on map, enemies will spawn endlessly, until alert goes off. Similarly, if you unlock new base of operations, friendlies will magically teleport there and all the previously present enemies will vanish.

Developers should have given a bit more thought and time for this game, then it would have been alright. Still, if you want semi-open world FPS shooter with cliche story and get this from deep sale, then it might be worth it.

I really enjoy the open world (Zone/Area) game play. AI is decent for the enemy and your allies. Solid set of guns and equipment. I was a huge fan of the setting of the first one and this dos a decent job of replicating that while expanding the game play style. Great bang for the buck!

Homefront 2 ditches the linear maps of its predecessor (which was a shameless Call of Duty clone) in favor of a semi-open world chopped into compact districts. This compactness cuts down mindless wandering and fluff, as everything you do in this game feels like it's toward the ultimate goal of pushing the Korean enemy out of America. The story is filled with clichés, but it's okay enough to keep you engaged for the game's 15-hour duration. A noticeable downside is the lack of a proper villain, but then again some might argue it's the system you're against.
There's good balance between stealth and combat, and which one you want emphasized is up to you. Liberating districts inch by inch is all good fun and, unlike fetching drink ingredients in some true open-world game, feels like it has a point to it. Shooting is pretty satisfying, especially with the right upgrades, the upgrade system itself is well balanced and there's a whole bunch of gadgets to accommodate different playstyles (although the method for selecting these could be better). The game's graphics and character models are crisp and hi-res, but the environments get rather repetitive quickly - all the way up until Beyond the Walls, the final DLC. My framerate also tanked midway through the game, but this was probably an unexpected driver issue.

What you need to know about me and this game:

I want to start this off by saying I bought this on console for its release. It was a mess at the time but I spent about 50h playing the game at that time. I am now back to play the game more and things have drastically changed since then. So below is based on my experience of playing the game in 2020.

The 2020 *Simple* Review

Probably one of the best looking fps games of 2016. Runs on the CryEngine sporting some of the best weapon customization and semi-open world Singleplayer gameplay out there. While the multiplayer side of things is dead unless you join some of the dedicated communities or get some friends to play the Singleplayer has about 20h of gameplay if you simply go through the story. Around 30-40h (depending on your playstyle) to fully complete the game and all sidequests.

It does have its issues but nothing that breaks the game. For example sometimes corpses can ragdoll in weird ways or maybe you smash someones head into a wall through a takedown and they simply get stuck inside that wall. It makes for some hilarious moments in an otherwise gritty US invaded by Norks (Ingame name for North Koreans)

It is worth the 20 dollars but a sale is probably going to be more your speed. There is only 3 DLC you really should look at: The Voice of Freedom, Aftermath and Beyond the Walls. However they only add about an hour or so each to play and is suggested to simply wait for either a sale or skip entirely. All other DLC is simply skins or MP unlockables that you do not need.

I wanted to like this game, I really did.
The first Homefront was a great story concept with fun gameplay and great graphics for its time. Homefront: The Revolution definitely followed suit with its visuals, but after about halfway through you can tell the devs were over it. The quests were super redundant, the story started to falter HARD in many ways (poor writing for one) and the amount of glitches that kept popping up started to become a nuisance.
I wonder if this game is an example of time crunching. A game that could have been a stellar sequel, but instead became boring and repetitive by the end.

Overall, 5/10. It's worth it on a big sale, but nothing more.

The Reviews DO NOT do justice to this Game.

First off all, this would be the first time that I'll be writing a review for a Game, but wanted to do this so that People get to know that this is a VERY GOOD GAME. Most of the reviews for this game have been Mixed and Negative. People are complaining about Bugs and stuff, as if other games specially the AAA titles are Perfect!

Within the first 10 - 15 minutes, I already knew that this is going to be a Great game. It's a combination of COD/ Battlefield+ Mirror's Edge + Assassin's Creed(15%) + Far Cry. You can drive a bike too, and through ruined post-apocalyptic BUILDINGS too. The combat is good, guns are great and customizable on the Go. A CrossBow can be converted into a Flame Thrower or Rocket launcher; an AR can be converted back and forth to an LMG or Mine Launcher; Grenades can me modded as timer based or proximity or Remote Car. And you can do all this during a fight or whenever you feel like. All you have to do is just upgrade them once. Not many games have this feature and is quite unique actually.
The character movement is good, Story is great.

I played this game in the the Highest Graphic settings, and this IS a Beautiful game. Throughout the 29+ hours that I put into this game, I was always surprised to see the effects. I am not a 'Multiplayer' player, so cannot comment about the mutiplayer aspect, but for Single Player experience, this was way above expectations, from beginning till end.

It was clear that a LOT of time and efforts were put into making this game. The Gameplay part of the Game is Excellent. Yes there were bugs with the enemies spawning randomly, one or two achievements, but overall, it's not as bad as the reviews state it to be.

The next time this game comes on sale, do buy it and try it. I was hooked up within 15 minutes by the Graphics and the Gameplay + Story. If you don't like it, then there's always the option to return.

Again, Don't believe those Negative comments blindly, buy this and try it. Never felt bored even for a minute in those 29 hours.

They took an interesting concept with a fucked execution and made it much more interesting than the 1st.

Has some technical issues but nothing game breaking (enemies popping in and out of existence way too close to you mostly).

The most notable mechanic is having to constantly stir up trouble in more policed neighborhoods until people start to see the police can't keep up and they begin to riot. From a mechanics perspective it should be boring but its execution makes it really interesting and believable, mostly thanks to many random spawns and events making it feel lived in. You start breaking some propaganda speakers or TVs, assassinate guards patrolling alone in dark streets and over time there's less and less lone guards and more and more security. People start to be agressive towards collaborators and you hear more distant fighting or pillage. It's pretty neatly executed.

Still not enough digging on the irony of the US, the police of the world, being served an exagerated version of its own medecine.

Also there's an easter egg where you can play an old school classic (timesplitters2) and inside that game you can play another hidden easter egg, making this some kind of inception easter egg where you're 2 layers of game deep inside a game... pretty cool, wish they'd keep this going with each new game x)

Urban Far Cry. Pretty fun. Surprisingly decent story. 2 of the ideological trope characters are terrible written (Sam and Dana), but the 3rd main voiced character Jack Parrish is a genuinely well written character and I was invested in his story more than than I thought I'd be. The gunplay is definitely fun, and I enjoyed the whole game.

Very few bugs, I experienced maybe like 3(?)

Took me 14 hours to beat, if you do everything there is to do it'd probably take like 17 hours not counting dlc.

Homefront: The Revolution is a significantly better game than I expected. While it's certainly nothing mind-blowing, it was a fairly enjoyable experience that felt highly reminiscent of Far Cry. Frankly, I think most of the hatred for this game is due to its poor launch. Its only major flaws are that it can be repetitive and suffers from wasted potential.

The weapons in this game are actually fairly enjoyable to use. The roster is very small (6 unique weapons in total and 2 free weapon slots) but almost every weapon has two attachments that completely change how the gun behaves. The pistol can be converted into an SMG or a pneumatic rifle on the fly using a real-time Crysis-esque weapon menu. Another example is how the crossbow can also double as a blunderbuss or a flamethrower. Every weapon is unexpectedly versatile, and they all hit very hard. The shotgun in particular was a surprising standout, as it's easily one of the best FPS shotguns in recent memory. Can't have a good FPS without a good shotgun!

The game is, at its core, effectively an urban Far Cry. You traverse an open map while taking over outposts, searching for loot, and performing occasional side activities. Stealth is an option, though it's rather awkward in this game to the point where I found combat far more viable and consistent. Still, it's entirely possible to silently liberate outposts. The only real problem with this is that the game rarely mixes things up. Most outposts feel almost exactly the same, and it starts to feel repetitive once you've seen the same fortress for the tenth time.

This game has a large but super underutilized set of gadgets. If it's throwable, you can attach it to an RC car, turn it into a proximity mine, or place it and remotely detonate it. However, there's just so few times in the game where cleverly using these throwables and their special versions ever felt like the right thing to do. There's certain environmental puzzles that require the RC cars (which handle awfully, by the way), but I never felt the need to use them outside of these puzzles. I almost exclusively used C4 and thrown hacks throughout the whole game because of a complete lack of incentive to use anything else.

In addition, there's just several other extremely annoying mechanics. Engaging in combat in certain areas (even if the whole region is liberated) will set off an alarm that causes enemies to psychically home in on your position until you find a hiding spot. Enemies will sometimes magically pop out of thin air, often times right in front of you. This is certainly not a rare occurance, as it happened well over a dozen times in my 16 hours of playing. This is especially awful if it happens to be a heavy or an APC.

Finally, the main quest is just rather boring. The bulk of the main quest is really uninteresting, and only a couple missions threw in any interesting gimmicks. The best way I can summarize the main quest is with the fact that the final mission is an escort mission. The developers clearly started to face difficulties close to the end, as the cutscenes start to become nonsensically written and horribly animated. I won't spoil outright anything (in case you care?), but the final stretch of the game is really contrived and anti-climatic.

Despite those problems, Revolution is a genuine recommend from me. I went in expecting it to be mediocre, but I felt that it was actually an enjoyable experience. For $4 on sale, you'll surely get your money's worth out of this one. I especially recommend it to people who want to scratch a Far Cry or Crysis itch.

The game in its own style is really nice, but it has a lot of problems (much more than any game you can think of). The only things that make me think about this game are the game environment and soundtracks that make you feel like a game The instrument gives the revolution. These are the only two things (environment and soundtracks for the revolution) have made my opinion positive, but I still have a general problem with this game and I do not like it very much. .Shooting ‌ Very nonsense and super nonsense gameplay. Many bugs that of course do not have much effect on the game and you can easily finish this game. And apart from these cases, the thing that bothered me the most was the problem of the optimization of the game, which I kept getting fps drop, and the problem of the very poor textures of this game. But it has really nonsensical graphics for the system needed to play, I will show you a sample screen from the first point of the game at the bottom.
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2226596009
This is the last graphic of the game and compare it with the system required for its ultra graphics.
OS: Windows 7/8/10 all x64
Processor: Intel Core i5-2500K (3.3 GHz) or equivalent or AMD FX-8320 (3.5 GHz) or equivalent
Memory: 8192 MB RAM
Graphics: GeForce GTX 760 (2048 MB) or equivalent or Radeon HD 7870 (2048 MB) or equivalent
Storage: 38 GB available space
And one positive thing about this game is that the HUD part, which is for hiding the HUD or SHOW them, helps you a lot to get a nice screen. Give me more than 2 negative reasons, it's really a stupid idea, so I have a negative opinion about this game and do not buy this game.
This version of homefront seems to be a combination of several games such as observer, deux ex and many other games, and this game is not liked at all because of its many problems, and I suggest you not to buy this game.

Get this game when it is on sale.

I got game with the humble bundle monthly I believe.

The games story is stretched out by forcing the player to explore in the semi-open world environment which works fine most of the time if you have time on your hands, but gets repetetive fast.

There are 4 types of grenades and all can be used in 4 different ways which makes it very cool mechanic to use. The combat is alright, AI could be better. Sometimes capturing stuff makes you laugh because it can be very easy ( I played on normal difficulty) but other than that it's an OK experience.

The animations are done nicely, most of the characters in game are not very memorable so you don't really care of what happens to them.

6/10
Would rate it as neutral as it's not good but not that bad either.

Pros
Good vissuals.
Story is pretty nice
Open world game play.

Cons:
Clunky controls.
Poor NPC design (they repeat the same dialogue every few seconds).
Imbalanced upgrade systems.
Side missions can be a little frustrating.

Overall the shortfalls keep me from, recommeding this game.

Oh my Lord, this game was a blast, never had so much fun in a single player story mode since COD: Black Ops, and that was my favorite game, I wanted to see if there was any multiplayer but I didn't find any games so I assume the multiplayer doesn't have anyone playing it much anymore, but overall the story mode so fun and involving, I didn't get to 100% this game like I usually do with some games but the fact this is a free roam makes this so much better, making you feel like you really have control over when to do something or not or to do side missions and quests, 8/10 would rate better if they had more weapons, besides a handful that have weapon mods (didn't even use all the weapon mods)

Homefront: The Revolution released with bugs. I bought it way after release and it was fine. Playing for third time. Good game, that is quite seriously underrated.

It's as they say, like Far Cry but in cities and towns. I find it a rewarding game, in ways. Like weapon upgrades rock. It does make you feel like you took part in this game's revolution. The graphics still hold up, so it's immersive visually enough.

I know that for some folk, they just won't like this game. However it's a lot of fun, with good shooting and good guns. Gonna be honest, I love H:TR.

VERDICT:
I've had this game sitting in my library for 2 years, my old PC couldn't run it's demands (heck knows why because the game doesn't seem that demanding) so I had to wait until I built my new one and sadly... this game isn't what I was expecting, it's pretty garbage and doesn't hold a candle to games like FarCry. It's basically a copy-cat but FarCry does it WAY batter. There are some good points, like the modding of the guns and crafting interesting devices but that's not worth the price they're asking, not to mention the story is paper thin and no one seems to know what they're doing throughout the campaign. If you're going to pay anything for this product, get it on a major discount.
Total Score = 44/100.

This game is a mess, and besides the story it seems to have little to do with the first Homefront.
I understand they wanted to jump aboard the open world train, but it seems that the train they took crashed, derailed and fell into a river. But hey, I'm not saying you shouldn't play this game. If you like FarCry and already finished all of their games, like me, doesn't hurt to try this one. Just don't get any expectation and you will be just fine.
The gunplay feels exactly like the first game, with rpg improvements, you can customize and improve your guns and character now. It does help a little, but the game stills hard as hell! You gonna die, A LOT! Mostly because enemies don't stay in your map, so you don't know where they are untill it's too late. Realism, I know. But I don't play games for realism, I play them to shoot sh!t and not get sh!t shot at me.

Some bugs you may encounter:

- Game crashed for me sometimes, and I saw no one found a solution for that yet. Doesn't happen that much, but can make you lose some good 30 minutes if you don't save often.
- People teleporting all over the place. This kinda helps too, because if you need to go to a certain place, but there are too many enemies on your way, just turn back, make a few steps and come back again. They will probably have vanished.
- AI is just broken. You can destroy vehicles with bombs, which will attract guards attention, but they will literally pass right by your side and go investigate who could possibly have thrown the bomb. Same goes when you kill any of them.
- Randomly exploding sound that makes you go def. Not sure if it has something to do with my headphone or even system, but it scares the sh!t out of me when the sound goes BOOM all of a sudden.
- Fell out of the map once. Guess that happens, though.

So, you may ask why I still recommend this game after finding so many bad things?
I don't know, really.
Like the first game, the director did an excelent job with the action scenes, they are all amazing and fast paced, and keep the adrenaline really high. The difference on this one is that it has an aura that I can't find in any other game. It's hard to explain, but I feel like I'm in one of those 90's movies, like Total Recall, or Judge Dredd. The chaos, the lights, the riot, all packed together to bring immersion.
Maybe it's just the music that is so good and fits so perfectly. You'll know what I'm talking about when you get further into the game. If you do, you won't regret it.

It's like Far Cry but without all of the fun. It's like an A.I. studied open-world FPS games and tried to make its own.

Absolutely brain-bread gameplay loop:
1) Press E to collect thing or destroy thing
2) Shoot bad guy
3) Hide for 30 seconds
4) Repeat

I like unpopular FPS games, but this one is really bad. I'll probably still play it because guns.

Homefront: The Revolution, while having a good premise, is a very repetitive grind campaign wise in a half-open gameworld with different sectors. I wasn't impressed in that regard. The DLC campaigns are significantly better, albeit short, but I personally liked the multiplayer most. Only and main downside being that the servers are quite dead these days and that most people probably are way better off just playing any CoD title.

Due to the fact that the singleplayer is a bog at best and that multiplayer is quite dead, I can't recommend this title, even although I sunk a substantial amount of time into it.

Imagine all the boring bits from a Fry Cry game and you have Homefront : the revolution. It's essentially all liberation missions and not much else. It plays fine, and the gun play is pretty standard.
I found it more of a chore to finish than anything else.

<<~Homefront: The Revolution + DLC~>>
Although marred by technical glitches, performance issues and bugs at launch, Today this First Person Shooter still manages to deliver an entertaining single player campaign that gradually grows on those willing to give it a chance. Granted not a new concept, the “Red Dawn-esque” Open World (both in gameplay and story) experience offers some surprisingly good voice acting, an enjoyable soundtrack and a few unique gameplay mechanics. Despite the somewhat cliched story, Homefront The Revolution and the accompanying DLCs’ are interesting enough to warrant finishing especially when considering Dambuster studios have managed to slip in quite a few unexpectedly gorgeous visuals alongside its own impressive art style.
