Synopsis
Since his wife’s disappearance, Tim has searched tirelessly for her but remains no closer to the truth. Awakening in a mysterious forest, Tim feels beckoned to explore his mysterious new surroundings only to be set upon by villagers seemingly possessed by some sort of evil spirit as well as a mysterious and seemingly invisible Thai Dancer. Doggedly pursued through the forest and beyond, Tim must race against time to not only survive the evil all around him, but piece together the clues in an attempt to find his missing wife.

- Story an einigen Stellen nicht klar durchschaubar

- Beide Teile hätte man zusammen rausbringen können.

Fazit:
Home Sweet Home Ep2 setzt an der Geschichte des ersten Teils an. Wieder steht hier die Thailändische Mythologie im Vordergrund. Die Atmosphäre ist wie beim ersten Teil sehr düster und gruselig. Viele ordentliche Schockmomente gab es auch. Im Grunde hat das Spiel die guten Punkte aus dem ersten Teil übernommen und hat noch ein paar Spielmechaniken, sowie eine ordentliche Packung Action hinzugefügt.
Was mich jedoch sehr störte war, das die Hauptstory sehr verworren war (Noch mehr als im ersten Teil) und für mich einige Dinge keinen Sinn ergeben haben. Der erste Teil hat mich da ein bisschen mehr abgeholt...
Die Sprache ist wieder Thai und Englisch, welches wahrscheinlich im Übersetzer rein geworfen wurde.f
Trotzdem ein schönes Spiel. Empfehlenswert!!!!

Kein Vergleich zum Vorgänger. Null gruselig sondern frustrierend, speziell zum Ende hin.

Das Game findet zu 80 % im Wald statt... Langeweile pur. Angekommen im Haus, wirds dann sehr nervig u. frustrierend a la hide and seek, wobei die KI sehr unfair gestaltet ist. Fazit: HSH EP2 macht einfach keinen Spaß sondern es ist pure Frustration. Sehr schade!

Episode 1 war super.
Leider macht der Bosskampf etwa in der Mitte des Spielt alles kaputt. Einfach nur unfair desinged und für mich nicht schaffbar.
Ich habe auch keine lust in einem Horrorspiel wie in Darksouls einen Boss 20, 30 mal zu versuchen. Das ist nicht gruselig, sondern nur assozial nervend.
NICHT KAUFEN, wenn ihr euch einfach nur gruseln wollt.

I hate the second part of the game

Home Sweet Home Episode 2 is a definite pass unless you REALLY want to get the end story after playing the first part. If you do go into this keep in mind any features or gameplay parts you DID NOT like in the first game get cranked up to 11 in this one. I was very frustrated, bored, and just ready for this to be over. By the ending chapters I did not care at all about what was going on and just kept brute forcing my way through. The second half of the game plays out way better compared to the last half. This entry features combat. And while it starts off seemingly OK and could have been good it takes a turn for the worst, definitely not implemented well. They will make you defend against waves of enemies and combined with the combat this does not feel good. I was considering if I should even continue to play at all after that. The stealth segments are also here again and like the combat don't come without their problems. There is a point where you have to stealth around a decent sized are for a solid amount of time but the enemy can hear you constantly, even when crouched and fairly far away. What?? I don't hear noise when I crouch walk so whats the indicator for him knowing? How am I supposed to know? This scenario happens more than once! OK so the story right, what happened to Jane, what happened to you, who the hell is DEW, and is he important in some way? I DON'T KNOW. He's our friend but was there something more to it that I was supposed to know? They make it seem like there should be. The game drags on for WAY too long, even longer than before and this really kills it. The usual voice acting and translation still have not been improved. Again I played English voice and subtitles, perhaps that's my bad. There is even less creepy and spooky moments to see. If you want a scary horror game this is not it, this is probably more of an action combat game. I played this not particularly caring for the first game because I wanted to see the story through. Did I get the answers I was seeking? No. Also this is priced rather high like the first, both should be the price of one. Buy this on sale if you are getting it.

Compared to episode one, this one seemed rushed and kind of lazy as i'f the devs didn't really wana go through with making it half way trough.

I really enjoyed episode one, mostly because the puzzles in it were more interesting and the setting was done a lot better as well. Episode 2 really wasn't a challenge puzzle wise. Instead of inventive puzzles they made the game last longer by putting a obnoxious amount of enemies in your way with limited resources to be gathered to take them out. It wasn't fun at all anymore at the end and i pretty much just had to rough my way to the end of the game where i got to get disappointed once more with the ending they decided to give it.

All and all, it started of good, but went down hill real fast. I wouldn't even recommend playing this part and savor you're good memories of episode one instead.

Also, who puts a commercial for their own next game in the end credits lol? xD That was incredibly anticlimactic..

A really disappointing horror game, in comparison with the solid first game. The only thing it does better I would say is the graphics. They changed the atmospherical horror with stealth elements, for some kind of run from zombies game, filled with mazes and some not so well developed movement mechanics, which they try you to use for a lot of mediocre action sections that just don't work.

The first half of the game starts in a forest, which doesn't have too much to do, besides running, and it is a really long section. Then, a sequence pretty similar to the last scenes on the previous game, where you have to run, sneak, and finally fight with the witch, and I couldn't like any of them. First of all, making everything dark doesn't turn this into a good horror game (and taking your flashlight away doesn't do it either), and it is worse if you are trying to hide/run from an enemy who can spawn in almost every spot and is faster than you, because you have to try to use sounds to get some guidance, so you will have better luck just running (you just can't run away if you get spotted while trying to be sneaky).

After that, you are back in the forest for some more running from zombies and some more killing zombies with nails, to finally get into some ruins where you mostly have to kill zombies and sneak through mazes... which is pretty tiresome. Oh, and there is a boss fight at the end.

I should be more specific with all the things I didn't like about the game, but I think this is a decent summary. The worst part of the game is that every section feels really long, mostly because of how monotonous they are. I would give it 3/10.

Well, this is unfortunate. Having played the first episode in VR, I missed the immediate release of this installment and only noticed it this month. I saw a few videos of YouTubers trying episode 2 in VR and it seemed to work, so I went ahead and bought the new episode. More Home Sweet Home in VR is a no-brainer. Yes, please!

However it looks like they've let down the VR players that initially supported them. It seems that the studio intentionally broke the VR support after releasing the second half of episode 2. I'm not sure why, but it's most definitely a deal breaker for me. Episode 1 had amazing VR support and had they labelled the game properly on the Steam storefront they would have gotten a much larger player base using an HMD... and yet without properly labeling their game in the VR categories, they still got good reception.

With the lack of VR (which was not evident by looking at the store page, as episode 1 has always had VR support but was never labeled as such on the Steam store, something I easily assumed was also the case with episode 2) I'm afarid to say this is a thumbs down and a refund for me. Good luck with success in future projects.

Home Sweet Home EP2 is alright, I wouldn't suggest you buy this full price as its mechanics/game play is kinda worse than the first one!

I found the 'stealth' was more of a hindrance than a necessity because running past things was easier than trying to sneak! I often DIED trying to play this game like the first when really you can just brute force your way through it.

The clutter you can use for cover is often also inconsistent!

The story is nothing to write home about. I enjoyed the first game a lot but feel like this is more of a cash grab as the first game didn't even specify it was a 'episode 1' till you finished it!

All in all if its more than 50% off on sale get it otherwise there are plenty of play through online.

I enjoyed the second half a lot more than the first. I will say though that the gameplay changes from the first to the second are so different that I wish they had added more content to each one and made two games. The jump from the first to the second one is a big change and I think it would have served the game better to make them their own projects so they could have shined more on their own. It's about 11-12 hours at the current rate of 36 dollars total to complete both episodes and I'm glad I played it.

Amazing game! I played 17 hours total enjoying every aspect of it. The stealth is amazing, new combat system. There is a new monster in this game and it is scary. I really hope Yggdrasil makes a new one HSH 3.

Stealth is even more a pain in the butt this time around, and then they also add combat into the mix. Part 1 was a grand and spooky adventure that ultimately started to overstay its welcome. This pushes it even further with attempts at boss fights and zombie hordes that turn what could have been a good horror experience into a frustrating slog.

Okay wow, that’s all I have for this, such a downgrade from the first game. Let me start this by saying I loved the first Home Sweet Home game, it was fun, enjoyable and for a horror game that was mostly a walking simulator it actually got me scared and on the edge of my seat a lot.
However the same can NOT be said for this game, I didn’t even finish it, I got to the part where it turns into fetch quest city and I got lost in some toilets, I have no idea. Maybe im just not very smart or something but this game gives you literally NOTHING to work with. It’s bland, boring, uninteresting and damn right clueless sometimes.
The horror in this game is non existent nothing about this game says scary or horror. The Enemies in the game are boring and just rip offs of the same thing over and over, The boss fight was easy and boring. And the quest are just over and over the same bloody thing, Developers if there is one thing I wish I could ask you it’s why? Why did you make this game the same thing ovr and over and over and just never change it up, it makes no sense to me when the first game was so fun and amazing!
Such a shame but I dunno, another thing as well, I decided that because I couldn’t finish this game if I wanted to keep my sanity, I went to look up a walkthrough for it and see the ending to see if the ending at least would give me some enjoyment or closer of the sorts….. I cannot find a single game walkthrough any where that continues after the Ratri boss fight!
Am I the only one who is having this issue or is it just a case of the game got updated and no one finished it right to the end, Any way rant over a shame as there is a lot of potential to this game and this game has the potential to be a fun and enjoyable experience, but sadly it is let down by, Lack luster gameplay, Boring missions and quests and just an overall unenjoyable and BORING experience!
Save yourself the money and find something better.

EDIT: So found out there was an update to the game which is why there was more after the end of the base game, okay.... The game was still poop though also found out my game broke and wouldn't let me progress hence why I got trapped some where, i'm sorry but I stick to what I said before, The first game is much better, just stick to that and make your own ending for it!

Buyer beware!!! This game has been bugged for me from the start. The game likes to steal your nails you need, or decides not to progress you to the next level. When you fight the lady off you...she will either disappear or decide to attack you again. So Dear Developers...What the hell were you thinking? I want a refund...do not play this game...stick with the first one.

This game was honestly such a masterpiece, that I wish I could have cut my own eyes out before I had to witness the nightmare that was this game. Between dodgy controls and a really shatty story, I could have had more fun playing the first Home Sweet Home by myself while I grated my own balls off and still had a better time than I did even thinking about attempting that final boss fight again. I'm glad I didn't have to pay this game to be forced to watch a shatty dead by daylight rip off without a choice. Thanks guys. I recommend this game if you hate yourself and wish you had stage four boof syndrome.

Just was not impressed with the direction they took in the game. Puzzles made me wanna ZzZz and adding more combat elements just made it feel less of a Horror and more of an Action Thriller. Wish the game improved from the 1st one cause that one was good, but I just feel let down with this one sadly.

This episode is long and lot's of contents, terrible controls maybe because of the complexity of the new mechanics. in this episode story continues in different aspect give it totally different style gameplay not like in episode 1, this approach not bad at all, some enemies are way too hard to beat and annoying.

Okay so strap yourselves in. This is going to be a lot, but I'll do my best to be concise. Home Sweet Home 1 was great. Atmosphere was solid, great scares, tense, overall great experience! Home Sweet Home Episode 2 (btw I don't think 1 was ever marketed as episode 1) was okay. More of the same, but it was still pretty cool. Still some jumpscares and tension. It builds on the world more. One small gripe is that it came out awhile after the first game and I've forgotten everything that's happened in between.

Then there's a free update to the game that offers Home Sweet Home Ep2 Part 2. (The marketing on that is awful) but whatever. Free update! Great right? Well...kinda.

Look, free content is amazing, but really it's just the end of the story rather than surprising you with a cliff hanger and episode 3. But man...this feels like it's been developed by someone else completely. The only good things I can say are about the sound design (which is wonderfully done) and the update adds about another 4 hours of gameplay (especially if you're bad at puzzles like me). Now here comes the negatives...

Combat - That's right combat. Anytime a non combat focused game introduces combat I get worried. Sometimes that game becomes easy or it's so clunky it's not enjoyable. I can say it's so clunky it's not enjoyable. You can throw a knife that takes forever to recharge. Meant to balance the gameplay so you don't feel invulnerable. However, the game throws a LOT of enemies at you that you're meant to stealth up to and throw the knife at once, then wait for it to recharge. It's SUPER slow paced and breaks up the flow of the game. The game then doubles down on the combat and it becomes almost completely about combat. Slow, clunky, boring combat that isn't difficult, just tedious. Enemies don't always react to hits and you're often left sprinting away until it recharges. Also, areas meant to be tense areas turn into literally nothing but sections where you throw a knife, sprint, throw a knife, sprint, rinse and repeat until everything is dead. What a shame.

I do also have a problem with the character development / writing in this game. Your wife's diary entries sound like a very immature kid that's just angsty and pouty. I had no emotional connection to her aside from annoyance...is that an emotion? Maybe I'm just a sociopath.

Overall, this was a bizarre end to what started off as a great horror game. When played as a whole, Ep 2 is a very uneven mediocre at best horror game.

I, like many other Steam users really wish for something between recommend and do not recommend because there certainly are good things about HSH part 2 but overall it just wasn't a great experience. I appreciate Thai folklore and have enjoyed thai horror in the past and even thought highly of HSH part 1 but this is a frustrating janky mess for most of the ride. Annoying cheap enemies and repetitive environments along with poor voice over and story presentation made me just want to get the whole thing over and done with. There are some suspenseful atmospheric moments but they are few and far between. A shame considering the first part was such a strong effort. 5.5/10

สำหรับผม ผมว่า ช่วง Gameplay เเล้วก็ Puzzle น่าเบื่อเเละยืดยาวไป ซ้ำซากบ้าง หาของ หลบผี หลบผี ฆ่าผี Animation ช้าไปสำหรับการต่อสู้ เหมือนกับว่า เกมพยายามเป็นหลายเเนวมากเกินไป โดยรวมเเล้วให้ 7/10 หัก Gameplay กับ Bug

The game has caused me so many problems that I have forgotten all my real problems. And that's actually all I expect from a horror game.

Doesen't change the fact that the controls are clunky.

The graphics for the genre are good enough. The sound effects are great and are completing the horror effects (headphones is a must i think). Sad, it's divided in two parts... Overall a great game
