The game is pretty good but it's kinda hard to get used to the controlls of the game. To be fair, the best part about this game is that it's less toxic than DbD, which definitely makes it more enjoyable sometimes. But it usually also takes a while to load into lobbies but other than that it definitely is worth a try.

Leider muss ich diesem Spiel im aktuellen Stadium einen Daumen runter geben. Aber nicht weil das Spiel schlecht ist sondern weil es als Neuling fast unmöglich ist, ein Spiel zu finden. Nicht die Lobbysuche ist hier das Problem, sondern die Spieler selbst. Hier wird scheinbar sehr viel wert auf Cosmetics gelegt, die aber erst durch viele viele Stunden Spielzeit überhaupt gekauft werden können. Hat man keine dieser tollen, teuren Cosmetics an, wird schonmal schnell die Lobby verlassen von andren Spielern. Das große Problem hier ist, sobald auch nur 1 Spieler die Lobby verlässt, fängt man in der Suche wieder von vorne an, man wird quasi rausgeworfen aus der Suche. Kein vorreihen in der Warteschlange oder sowas...nein, man hat wieder die volle Wartezeit. von meinen 5 Stunden habe ich tatsächlich vielleicht 2-2,5 Stunden tatsächlich gespielt. Den rest habe ich mit Spielsuche verbracht. Die Suche dauert eigentlich nicht lange, aber es ist keine Seltenheit, dass 6 mal hintereinander die Lobby in den letzten Sekunden vor Spielbeginn wieder geschlossen wird. Manche Spieler sind sogar so dreist, die warten fast die komplette Zeit ab und kurz bevor das Spiel startet, gehen sie raus. Und ich habe nun mehrmals immer wieder die selben Spieler in der selben Lobby gehabt, die wieder raus gegangen sind. Verstehe nicht, wieso es dafür keine Strafe gibt. Sowas macht eindeutig das Spiel kaputt.

I like the concept, the spectors/killers of the game are all pretty cool, the items with their effects are cool. But its very unfriendly to new players. It takes forever to level up a character, the latency is so bad that you cant even hit anyone, it has unique ideas that I do enjoy but in its current state its really not fun to play either side. Its maybe a bit funner to play survivor, but if you're a learning killer, good luck, because you wont have fun. If they can make a good balance, fix the hit boxes and make things cost normal, not this much money for cosmetics, then I think it has a shot. But as its current state, I can't recommend it.
Opinion may change later depending on future updates.

TBH I dont play indie games, but I decided to give it a try and fell in love with it. It has potential, only few things here and there to polish and balance and Im sure It will shine by its own. I´ll keep playing it and give some love bc it deserves it. I give it so far an 8/10

The updates and reworks to this game for OBT2 have made things a lot better. I've always liked the game, but the lobby and matchmaking issues they had early on made all the US players drop this game.
I hope more people give this game a chance. Have had a lot of fun in the past couple of days!

I plan on writing a full, comprehensive review of this game some time after open beta test 2 launches. Right now, I'll summarise why it's better to hold off on a purchase of Home Sweet Home: Survive.
- US servers are completely dead, leaving only the EU servers up at specific times (certain streamers playing for around two hours-ish per day) or the Asia servers (where having under 200 ping is a literal myth). With all character hitboxes being incredibly wonky before ping is factored in, adding the misery of the Asia servers on top of it all can make the game borderline unplayable in some instances on both spectre and survivor. As a spectre, you'll miss hits on people where you can visually see your weapon go through their model, and on survivor, you'll be hit from miles away with no rhyme or reason (the spectre can even swing in the opposite direction, missing you completely, but of course you get hit due to the ping difference).
- A vast majority of the content in the game is real money only (gems), and yes, some of the characters are vastly more powerful than the free cast you get access to. If you plan on playing spectre, prepare for sadness, as only Belle is free (the other two spectres you can buy for bullet coins are Nymph and Prisoner, but they're 12,000 bullet coins each and it can take some time to grind it out). Every other survivor (except Ong) and spectre in the game costs real money (around five bucks).
- The famous gacha boxes synonymous with Asian games are here as well! That's right, there are loot boxes in this game, and the entire system is built around them. Very, very few skins can be earned by bullet coins, which is the grinded currency. The rest must be bought either with gems (real money currency) or gambled on in greedy pots exclusively (their version of loot boxes).
- I won't even touch on the balance of this game, since I am incapable of playing under optimal conditions with minimal lag factoring in. On US servers, the one time I managed to organise a group to play, the ping was amazing (32). It was an entirely different experience, and everything worked perfectly on survivor and spectre. Very few weird hits/misses occurred (although those will still happen due to some questionable hitboxes), and the game became leagues more enjoyable. Games like that haven't happened since, and so I've been exiled to the Asia servers (likely with every other US/EU player left), which is what this review is primarily based on.
- As an added aside, some of the accessory cosmetics don't even fit properly on the characters, with tons of clipping or foolishness occurring that could've been caught by a couple seconds of quality control.
There is the heavily summarised, hopefully soon to be positive, review of HSH: Survive. Open Beta 2 will hopefully shift this update.

It definitely isn't an easy game but once you get used to everything the game can be a lot of fun. One thing that's kind of annoying is that you have to pay for almost everything. But overall the game is well made and it's definitely a lot less toxic than most 1v4 games.
Also: play on asian servers, otherwise you'll wait for years to find a game

trash game devs have no idea how this game should work completely killer sided. once you get in a chase there no escaping killer. killers move ridiculously fast. no balance to game just avoid at all costs. its just a rage game if you are playing survivor. sad this game was cool for what is was but yet another game destroyed due to incompetent game developers and not knowing what is fair or not

there is no noobs in this game. you will be the noob. As a beginner you try playing survivor then either you get destroyed by a specter who seems to know everything, or depend on good team mates to be decoy. if not... you better be a god at this game or you are done son. First game as specter i already considered uninstalling for many reasons. oh look another game where you can be brand new but play against some extremely experienced people. you can expect a very consistent pattern of that in this game. the list goes on. please continue working on this game it has great potential and can be alot of fun/enjoyable if tweaked and polished.

Loved the idea of the game but there's been hardly any progress on it for months and months the games dead. the only updates are skins and turning on and off their servers. takes sometimes an hour or more to find a game and when you finally get into game its riddled with game breaking bugs and unbalanced mechanics i would avoid until they rework the entire game at this point its one of the few opinions left! (you'll be waiting a long time maybe forever) good luck devs

For me, this game has a nice design and a good character story-line.
Unfortunately, this game isn't an equal world for the survivors at all.
If you've seen a match that the survivors have been playing for a long time but the killer has just practiced a few rounds, you'll understand what I said.

I really wanted to like this game, but right now there are too many issues. I can never find a game, and when I do it's clear that everyone else is a veteran at the game and I can't get anywhere. There are also frequent server issues and as it stands I just can't play.
I still want to like this game, and it is early access so I'm hoping that the issues get ironed out eventually, but as it is I can't recommend it.

I cant even play your game because it takes way too long to get into a lobby, like 30 mins at a time which isn't good. I want to see this game succeed and try to get up there with DBD but if you cant even get into a match then whats the point.

My suggestion is if you live in America，dont buy this game， the ping will never drop blow 200，with this kind of lagging，you will never have a happy game. Especially you played as survivor, you will probably die within 1 minute because this game is unblanced, you have no chance to survive with high ping

Just don't. It's pain to play as killer and the one they give you has no range or area. Just a needle thin area where it can hit and no matter how many times you miss, you will get stunned, flashed and blinded each time by people who have 1000+ hours in this game. And while playing survivor, the same killer will somehow murder you in less than 15 seconds.

When I play in a group, I have more fun and laughter, but when I play solo, I become hot and angry with a lot of bugs and an unbalance between survivors and killers. Despite the fact that the game appeared to be messed up, I enjoy it.

I really like this game even more than DBD but some things are just annoying. I dont even think the game is unfair for killer or surviver, if you can play surviver good its kinda easy to win and if you good at killer its easy to win too. But a lot of people here are just toxic asf. they soul camp ( dont even let you rez your teammates ) or they just tunnel you ( killing you after getting rez ) or they just camp the rits so you cant win the game. its just if you report this people i have the feeling nothing happens they dont get a ban or anything for playing this toxic. Its not like everyone is like this there a nice people too but i see more of the toxic people as a surviver. I play on Europe severs i need (sometimes ) more than 10 min. to find a match, and when i have a match some people leave so i have to look for another match for 10 min again. The last thing that is annoying but not really a problem for me is the coins you get as a surviver, full match 600 points or something like that you get max. 160 Bullet coins, but as a killer for only killing one person once or even if someone leaves you get over 200 bullet points. Most of my surviver games i cant reach 600 points because i get focused or i just die as the first and then i get like 20 bullet points. With a good team you can get 600 points in a game but still the killer always gets more bullet coins it is a bit unfair but i dont have a problem with playing killer to get bullet coins. So if you wanna buy this game and you dont have a problem with long waiting ( on europe servers ) and some killer issues because they are toxic, you should really buy it (:

A comprehensive game with simple, yet promising and interactive gameplay, a great art design team and great opportunities going forward.
This review will fall completely separate from the competitor Dead by Daylight, while both may reside in the same genre, Home Sweet Home's gameplay vastly differs from Dead by Daylight. Comparing the two is comparing Apples to Oranges. No, your skill from one will not translate over to the other, i don't care how many hours you have.
This game has struck a certain nerve within me, the interaction with the Specter in this game is heightened because of the fact the player needs to move around the map in order to progress, and its more hands-on approach to chases makes every single one feel like a power struggle rather than a silly game of ring-around-the-rosie.
Survivor gameplay is clearly the highlight of this game, however the Developers are fast and frequent with fixes and the like, making the game an ever-changing experience as it develops, even for the weaker Specter role. Nevertheless, it's an incredibly satisfying feeling to Kill pesky survivors.
The game features lootboxes, and does feature them prominently; However they aren't necessary in order to obtain cosmetics, as several cosmetics and all of the licensed content is always fully available for a small sum of money and isn't RNG or Gambling-reliant.

1. The game is still Early Access ( still got a lot of updates )
2. This game has a fck ton of potential, It's just not there yet
3. DBD hits you like 3 time and then you are dead and meanwhile this game can get hits up to 5 or 6 to down a survivor
4. CAN LITERALLY RESPAWN, so the killer cannot camp like a piece of sh#t
5. You can actually kill or defeat the killer or you can just bugger off to portal and win
6. THE DEVS HEARS WHAT THE PLAYERS SAYS.
The only bad things is sometimes the game crash out of nowhere and it's not that big of a deal, cuz it's still in early access like I say on the 1st point.
Needs a lot more updates and fix bugs to make this game spectacular.

played about 3-4 games of killer and within those games i got 1 single kill, was fun for the first minute or so until the survivors realise your new to the game and start tbagging, the players i were against were obviously experienced players which to me only suggests the playerbase is incredibly low, either that or skillbased matchmaking doesnt exist lol. dont expect the game to ween you in your getting put straight into the deep end of buttfuck city, this isnt a review for me to just simply complain just a warning for any new players that decide to give it a go. in the games current state i wouldnt reccomend it, im not even gonna mention the lootbox system they have in an eag, all this aside the game does have potential, and i wish it the best, but for now its off in the bin

This game is survivor sided BY ALOT here ill explain why:
(Wow one day later that i made this review its already outdated so the new update increases the hp of the spectre from 270 to 400 this is nice but i couldnt play yet cause servers are closed half of the time but i think this update does balance things out more now just get the damage the spectre does up)
1. The amount of damage survivors can do when 2/3 rituals are done from the about 12 games ive played i think i have been exorcised 9 times this sucks and i never get an execution cause survivors are actually stronger than the spectre when 3 rituals are dont THERE ARE ALSO 4 of them so 4 times that.
2. The amount of items that spawn on the map when you get a lot of hits on a survivor and then they just heal with one lucky thing they found in a chest this forces you to when you get a execution (which i have done for about 5 times killing only 3 people in my whole 3 hours) to tunnel the survivor making it annoying
3. The devs are really survivor sided all updates that rework maps only get more advantages for survivors which is very annoying too see cause the only map you can ever kill anyone on (swamp) now gets reworked and you have no fun in playing this game
4. You dont get with people who have the same skill level as you as a killer that doesn't do very well i think i should't be with someone who already played this game for 100 hours TWICE IN A ROW BTW i know ranked match is coming soon but for now im leaving this in
I have refunded this game 1 time and i wish i could do it again but now im stuck with a playtime of 3 hours which you dont get a refund. SO DEVS IF YOU ARE READING THIS. Gonna be honest. I went into this game expecting what you would get from an early access game. My expectations weren't ever too high, and I always justified bugs as mere early access reasons. But after some great consideration and sitting in queue for what felt like 30 minutes, I'm reconsidering my position.
- Speaking of queue, I could chop down a tree, build a house, go mining, and craft a full iron armor set in Minecraft and come back to find myself still waiting for a lobby that would ultimately disband because someone left or dodged (and hardly anyone wants to play Specter). I could chalk this up as lobby simulator, honestly.
- Matchmaking is tragic, just a few newcomers against a Lvl. 35 Nymph isn't so bad when you're getting mowed down in half a minute. Meanwhile Specter's are mercilessly bullied by survivors.
- Pots? Or lootboxes? One per level and your odds are slim to none for a decent cosmetic. Want more? Buy them. Which is very odd for an Early Access game.
- Characters were decent, unique stats, but once everyone figured out who to avoid and who is basically boosted it was game over. It's like when you didn't pick Mercy on Overwatch, people would be upset with you or you get dodged.
- Speaking of getting dodged, names are visible to everyone and so is chat. Easy gateway to toxicity and dodging certain players.
- Hardly anyone plays and if it's anyone still playing it's the high level players. With that, the game isn't exactly newcomer friendly but that could be matchmaking reasons.
I could go on about the cons of this game but I'm sure I and everyone else with a negative review has gotten our point across. I did enjoy this game, it was fun and the concept was unique. This isn't really a loss, the game was cheap. I hope the devs will improve and get this sorted out in the future because I would most likely revisit the game. For now I'm shelving it.

This game is fun and it seems a lot of people leaving reviews didn't actually give the game a fair chance. Yes theres bugs but the devs actually do work quick to fix them. The devs have even tried balancing maps and whatnot but of course it's not perfect its in early access. You don't really have to spend money to get anything in the game with the exception of two survivors the other things in the game are unlocked through a currency you get for playing. It's not sketchy this dev has made other games people are just too quick to judge.
