A quick note from the developer:
Himno was created a long time ago as a private project which I played to de-stress myself. Little by little I was getting in love, and that's why I decided to share it for free. If you enjoy simple games about platforming and parkour, this will catch you! The controls are super intuitive and easy to learn, and there is an endless amount of procedurally generated maps for you to explore and overcome in many different ways like the old 8-bit platformers.

An endless experience about jumping and watching the world created featuring:

Non-violent, no death
Your actions in the world trigger emotional soundtracks and vibrant visuals
Wall-jumps, slides, dashes, moving platforms, lifts

Himno ist ein Platformer, der sich weniger auf schwierige Elemente und haarsträubende Schwierigkeit stützt, denn mehr auf visuelle Eindrücke sowie herzhafte, musikalische Untermalung. Wer mal für 10-15 Minuten Leerlauf hat, gestresst ist - oder Laune auf ein durch und durch entspannendes Spiel hat, ist mit Himno sehr gut bedient.

Die Steuerung ist flüssig, die Grafik atemberaubend schön und der Soundtrack die Kirsche auf der Sahne.

Einfach ein Spiel zum relaxen, ohne Hektik oder irgendwelche Kämpfe. Man erkundet die Maps, zündet Fackeln an und sammelt Items. Anfangs ist man etwas orientierungslos, aber das legt sich wieder. Um alle Errungenschaften zu bekommen, kann man sich die Guides anschauen. Es gibt zwar keine auf Deutsch, aber das bisschen Englisch kriegen die Meisten bestimmt hin.

Sound: ------->9/10
Grafik: -------->7/10
Steuerung: -->8/10

Da das Game kostenlos ist, kann jeder mal reinschauen. Wem Himno gefällt und den Entwickler unterstützen möchte, kann sich den Soundtrack kaufen.

PS: Mein xbox360 Controller wurde hier gut unterstützt

Its worth playing. There's good sound design and is a peaceful yet entertaining platformer. And it's free.

That being said I feel like the game is generally a little clunky and confusing. Wall jumping feels very clunky and sends you uncomfortably far. Maneuvering around the map feels far from seamless though still enjoyable. The controls are a little odd feeling as well. You collect colored dots through the walls and pots to get xp which lets you buy wisps which aren't always clear what they do. There's little launch mechanics through a white candle and a green plasma looking sphere that send you away. Sometimes a bit too far into death. It's not very clear what the objective is when you go in, but I feel that intuitively you figure it out as you go along which isn't a bad thing necessarily. Colored dots are used as a rough guide, but it's still difficult to traverse darker parts of the map without just hoping you land on something luckily.

A small Jump'n'run Game with an atmospheric Soundtrack & nearly no Frustration-factor (there are no enemies, you could only die by falling into the water if you're rly unlucky).

If you just want to kill some time and relax, it's highly recommended!

Classic 2d platformer with easy to unlock achievements.
Even though I highly recommend downloading (and playing) this game, it lacks uniqueness.
Maybe during the following years the author might be interested in adding other features (i.e. enemies, bosses, etc...): it seems like its still a work in progress.

I installed the game without much expectation
but these were exceeded

The game is peaceful as there are no enemies. Accompanied by beautiful music, it's a calming, stress-relieving game for me

I would have been willing to spend a few euros on Himno. because it's worth it

Seriously though, great game, beautiful visuals. There are two bugs I found, one where the water visibly ends at the edge of some levels, and another where the level platforms are too low, and the platform is below the water, making you unable to see if you are gonna fall.

Like a lot of bare-boned platformers, Himno quickly becomes a puzzle solving exercise more than anything else. Your time with this game will likely be spent asking yourself 'how do I get over there' rather than trying to achieve any particular goal because, quite frankly, there isn't one. Even exploration isn't a real goal to set out on considering how dangerously small the districts are. No, this game is about relaxing, watching numbers go up, and enjoying the act of flinging yourself around each very limited district alone. And what can I say, that's plenty of fun on its own.

If the game wasn't free I wouldn't be sure whether to recommend it. However, it is free, so I absolutely do recommend it.

Himno is a chill environmental platformer, that has great graphics and a nice atmosphere.
I personally find the game calming and nice, come back to it for a few to dozen minutes every now and again.

Nice and peaceful. I like this game but the lack of a clear objective kinda makes it less interesting. It would be nice if you added a combat mode and peaceful mode. One where you can progress through levels by killing enemies and collecting upgrades and the peaceful mode which would be this.

Other than that I like the retro style and the darkness with faint lighting is soothing. There are a few bugs in this game and it would be nice if you could add a description for each item you can collect in the game. There are a few items which I don't understand what they do, the key for example.

Himno is a retro parkour simulator (typical platform game) upon which the main character have a big sword that cannot be used, as Angel's sword from Final Fantasy Crisis Core, just think in how much that big thing is an advantage to your character in climbing. However, we have to highlight the relaxing soundtrack (Nice experience). If you skip this, the game is similar to other games you played before (nothing special). Hopefully, this will change soon, I am very excited of The silent melody combat expansion. Maybe adding lore about the wisp, crystal, etc, could help improving the experience. What is the meaning of what we saw in the [spoiler]floor 11[/spoiler], why the game [spoiler]restarts in the last floor?[/spoiler] Finally, What is point of the game? I hope all this will be solved in the new expansion.

PS: see how many time I spent earning all the achievements.

Himno is an excellent game that fills the role many would like to as a peaceful, relaxing game. Its soundtrack is elegant and calming. Not matter what i always play this game with the sound effects on to hear those crisp rain sounds. Himno's helped me through a lot of sleepless nights, and provided me with a challenging yet calming experience thats good to end the day with. I really look forward to Himno 2 coming out in the future. All props to the devs on making this niche, but excellent game. To get the full experience, i suggest playing on the highest graphics realistic to your machine with bloom turned on, and the music and effects on.

No story, no combat, no real goals. You just run, dash, and jump around collecting xp, wisps to buff your movement, and gems to unlock the next level.

10/10.

It's a great little game with relaxing music and beautiful visuals that's really great for just winding down at the end of the day.

I'm not really sure what the goal of this game is or if it's even rewarding. It seems very repetitive and limited in terms of locations and items. As you play you might ask yourself, where am I going and what exactly am I acomplishing here? Aside from that the game has a very atmospheric quality to it. The background music is ethereal and relaxing. It gives you some soothing vibes. The game has this old school feel to it that reminds me of Mountain King on the Atari 5200. I can't help but feel charmed by this game. I like this little pixel world. It feels nostalgic. The upcoming sequel they promote on the title screen seems like it's gonna be more of a straight forward adventure game. Which is welcomed, but until that game. You should give this game a go. Heck, it's free.

Im not into 2D platformers, but this game is a masterpiece you can fully play for free. So calm and relaxing game.
The game has wonderful soundtrack combined with ambient sounds of water or something else.

Himno is currently a game that lacks many core elements that other games have (i.e story, combat, tutorial, and a payoff/reward). However, the lack of said elements portrays an endearing aspect of the game; it maintains a sense of beauty through simplicity, not forcing the user through the same mundaneness that many other games enforce.

Story/Tutorial (8/10)

This game places its player in a new environment with the controls and that's it; we get no understanding of why we exist or what any of the items found within the game entail. The lack of a proper tutorial and story can be seen as both a positive and a negative, many may enjoy the lack of hand-holding whilst others may desire a bit of direction from the creator (I'm personally on the fence, however there are guides if desired). Although some may see this lack of guidance as a missing element, I personally saw the story as something we create for ourselves referencing the silent melody of the game (excited for the sequel).

Combat (N/a)

There is currently no combat, and that is fine. Not all games need to be combat heavy to be good , I just wanted to express that there is currently no combat in the game.

Payoff/Reward (7/10)

My only real issue with the game is the lack of any real pay-off. The achievements, although achievable through constant play, may seem a bit grindy after an hour of collective activity, however this should be less of a problem for casual players which is the target-audience for this game. By all means, this does not mean that the game is not good, I enjoyed it, however I felt as though this game in it's current state had a vital piece missing. Understandably, this game portrays the rogue-like aspect of dying and improving, however many roguelikes do still maintain an endgame the players can strive for.

tl;dr

I found the game enjoyable, and I can definitely see the potential the game holds. I would recommend that everyone try this game out due to it being completely free.

This is one of those games that you start to play a few levels of and instead end up playing an hour.

Absolutely brilliant game with beautiful graphics. Very relaxing to play and you learn a lot about how the game works as you play it. The music is surreal, but again, oddly relaxing. Also fun to speedrun.

Overall a calming and relaxing game, This game should be like 5$ and I would buy it. People who complain about the controls when it isn't really that bad! The game is really really good and you should try it out!

The developer markets Himno as calm de-stressing game which it does indeed live up to. With its lovely visuals, soothing music and peaceful atmosphere, relaxation is not a problem. You will most certainly feel calmer than a monk on morphine. My main complaint is that the preset keybinding was quite uncomfortable and caused more strain in my wrist than an hour long wank session.
This game is definitely worth a play even if its just a couple minutes here and there when you have nothing else to do.
Just don't jump into the pool of glacier freeze Gatorade at the bottom of each level.

Bruh let me tell you, struggling with the mechanics at the beginning of the game to figure out how tf am I going to get up on that ledge was not relaxing at all, lol. Seriously though, beautiful game and great atmosphere, would recommend.

Sometimes I like to browse around the free games just in case theres something good hidden away. I found something pretty damn good. Its a nice relaxing game. Good job king :)

This is a very good game and it is easy to beat. The soundtrack is great and its very ambient giving you a sense of calm as you play. This game is very calming so play it if you're feeling a little stressed. Its simple but it works and has very good replayability.

For a free game it is well designed in every way. The gameplay gives your a fun refreshing experience every time you enter a new dungeon due to the randomised levels. Not only that this game has a beautiful soundtrack to always put you in a chill mood. Overall i would give it a 4/5.

Decent platformer.
Takes alittle getting use and practise for
the jumpings and usage of glowing wasps.

Had some fun in obtaining most of the achievements,
the last few can be a grind.

Playable.
Quite enjoyable pushing to survive the furthest district or level.

What a great game. Can't believe it's free.

The procedurally generated terrain looks so open compared to the usual grid style that other games use.
All the wisps and their effects add a lot of flavour to the gameplay without really changing anything too dramatically.
Soundtracks are decent.

In conclusion, a very good platformer for playing casually. Not really that much content but if you just want to play something without thinking too much, this is the game for you.

For the price(which is free in case you haven't notice) , you're literally losing money not playing this game. Just give it a try.

Pros:
+ nice pixel graphics
+ soothing music
+ unlimited number of auto-generated levels?

Cons:
- terrible controls (will get you killed)
- some levels seem unsolvable
- no idea what the things you pick up are or do (if anything)
- only one visual theme for all levels

Bottom line:
If you're into jump-and-runs, pixel graphics, or just need a quick game for your lunch break, give this a try. It's free!

Da das Game kostenlos ist, kann jeder mal reinschauen. Wem Himno gefällt und den Entwickler unterstützen möchte, kann sich den Soundtrack kaufen.

Its worth playing. There's good sound design and is a peaceful yet entertaining platformer. And it's free.
