Heroes in the Sky ist ein komplett kostenloses MMOG. Du schlüpfst in die Rolle eines Piloten zur Zeit des Zweiten Weltkriegs und baust deine eigene Flugzeugflotte auf. Die Auseinandersetzung zwischen Alliierten und Achsenmächten erstreckt sich über den gesamten Globus - und du steckst mitten drin.
In Heroes in the Sky fliegst du Einsätze über den historischen Schlachtfeldern jener Zeit: Ob Guadalcanal, Pearl Harbor oder Malta, hier kannst du dein Können unter Beweis stellen und deine Skills trainieren. It´s free but nothing works.
I can´t even start a game I don´t know how.
the one achievement seems like it doesn't work.

Leider ist das Spiel seit seinem erscheinen nicht wirklich besser geworden. Inzwischen gibt es bei jedem Update angeblich einen Festplattenschreibfehler aus. Komischerweise passiert das nur bei diesem Game. Selbst eine Neuinstallation auf einer anderen Festplatte hat keine Besserung gebracht. Daher und auch wegen der mangelnden Übersetzung, keine Empfehlung und auch die Löschung.

Nicht von der der Stundenanzahl beirren lassen. Bevor HiS bei Steam auftauchte, vergeigte es der Entwickler bereits auf dem europäischem und amerikanischem Markt. Ich habe das Spiel bereits in der Beta bei Gamigo und danach auch auf dem amerikanischem Server gespielt.

Zufällig bin ich vor einiger Zeit auf HiS bei Steam/Greenlight gestoßen. Das Spiel sah so aus wie Jahre vorher schon und es wirkte als hätte sich nichts geändert. Umso verwunderter war ich, dass das Spiel es durch Greenlight hindurch geschafft hat....
Die Neugier hat allerdings gesiegt und ich habe das Spiel erneut getestet...

Los geht es beim Starter... er lässt sich nicht minimieren und sieht grottig aus.
Sprache auf deutsch gestellt und ab dafür. Auf in die Charakterauswahl und huch...die Hälfte ist auf englisch?
Im Spiel angekommen fallen mir erstmal mehrere Schaltflächen ins Auge die munter vor sich her blinken und mich dazu animieren wollen Echtgeld auszugeben oder einen Facebooklike abzugeben.
Zusätzlich plöppen noch ein paar Hilfestellungen mit Anfangsquests auf, die mir sagen was ich machen soll.....wenn die denn nur auf Deutsch wären....
Gehen wir uns halt ein paar Quests holen..... ok..... nicht nur nicht auf deutsch...diesmal gibt es gar keinen Text :D
Glück, das ich das Spiel und die Quests noch kenne...also ab in eine Mission.

Grafisch und spielerisch durfte man noch nie viel erwarten. Das Spiel besitzt nur matschige Texturen. Wenigstens einige Einheitentexturen wurde mit der Zeit durch hochauflösendere ersetzt. Ansonsten Matsch soweit das Auge reicht.
Auch an der Performance hat sich bis heute nichts getan. Sie ist für das gelieferte einfach schlecht. Spieler die mit Rechnern spielen die ein gutes Stück besser als die Mindestanforderungen sind, werden spätesten bei größeren Maps auf starke Performance-Probleme stoßen.

Das war der Punkt an dem ich das Spiel wieder beendete und deinstallierte.

Fazit: Seit dem das Spiel sowohl aufm dem europäischem als auch US-Markt untergegangen ist, hat sich hier mit dem Relaunch nichts getan. Das Spiel ging immer weiter Richtung ''Kawaii''-Stil, und wurde zwar um Level ergänzt. Die bestehenden Probleme aber nicht angegangen, und eine vernünftige deutsche Lokalisierung gar nicht umgesetzt. Mit Glück findet man schlecht übersetzte Texte...wenn überhaupt.

Inwiefern das Spiel im PvP, besonders im eigentlich interessantem Angriffskrieg, immer noch absolut Pay2Win ist, kann ich an dieser Stelle nicht sagen.

Schade drum. In dem Spiel steckte viel Potential....heute weiß ich nicht einmal wie man es durch Greenlight geschafft hat.

Das Spiel ist von 2011 na und? Bei Spielen kommt es nicht Hauptsächlich auf Grafik an sonder um den Spielspass. Wer behauptet HIS ist auf PaytoWin ausgelegt der hat keine Ahnung was PaytoWin ist. Man hat die Möglichkeit an bezahl Gegenstände heranzukommen ob durch Missionen oder Tagesquest. Ich mag HIS und kann es nur empfehlen.

HIS habe ich schon früher gespielt. Es War mein erster MMO Flight-Simulator und ich habe das Spiel sehr gemocht. Im Gegensatz zu War Thunder mochte ich sehr, dass der Fokus auf PvE gelegt wurde. Das einzige was ich negativ über HIS sagen kann ist, dass die Grafik sehr alt ist und schon früher geradezu gar nicht verbessert wurde. Die Steuerung ist auch etwas einfacher als War Thunder, aber War Thunder legt ja auch mehr Wert auf Realismus.... .

Letzlich muss ich sagen, dass ich HIS jedem empfehlen würde der gerne War Thunder spielen möchte, jedoch mangels leistungsfähigem PC/Laptop dies nicht kann.

Also spielt es, bildet eure eigene Meinung und macht die Qualität eines Spiels nicht allein von der Grafik abhängig! ;)

Attempting to give a less meme-y review so people can actually understand why this game was so disliked and what I think ultimately killed it.

This game was actually entertaining at one point in the distant (pre-Steam release) past. It was an mmo where the plane types (fighters, bombers, heavy fighters) were the classes; the plane parts (engines, propellers, cannons, machine guns, bombs) were the gear; and the historical battles were the dungeons. It was never meant to be a simulator; it was a fairly unique WW2-themed arcade shooter, and it did this reasonably well.

The issue is that the game had its interface pretty much destroyed. Whatever team did the revamp had zero passion. They either didn't care or didn't have the budget to care about the English-speaking players while making changes without fully understanding how it would affect the game as a whole. The end result was a GUI made indecipherable to the point that any charm the game once had was now buried under a layer of convoluted, poorly-translated mud.

I would ask you to try it if you are curious to see how badly a game can be mangled but the launcher no longer seems to work. Just as well.

I honestly only tried this game because of its single achievement, but damn this game is garbage. The multiplayer seems to be dead and the controls are too shitty to play this game properly. Unless you just install this game to unlock the easy achievement at the beginning, do not even waste your time trying this.

One of my all time favorite games. Shame to see what its become. I played back when the game came out and man was it good. The devs were ontop of everything fixing any problems. Were easy to get a hold of. Held lots of fun events. lots of new players coming in had great competetive PVP and PVE. Getting a group together to take on a raid was so much fun. Having a balance of bombers, gunners, and fighter planes in each squadron and working together. the tech tree of planes in the game is spectacular and probably the best part. Sad to see now the english in the game isnt even correct. No new events or planes being released. no players. One of those games you really wish you could go back and play again when it was at its peak. Now i wouldnt recommend it to anyone.

used to play this game. Now it is installed the game wont update or start. the launcher is installed and game is downloaded but nothing works to start... just errors when checking for updates.. looks like game server is gone for good. I have been trying for a month on and off to get this working. Good bye H.I.S.

Wow...apparently this game didn't last 5 years. HIS (Heroes in the Sky) is a Vietnamese game I haven't truly played as I've only booted it up for the only achievement it had before uninstalling it for several years. Apparently it had shut down in 2020. So...there actually is not much I can say about it, but I'll say what I can.

The gameplay seems like it was reminiscent of a Top Gun game I once played on the Nintendo Gamecube...which seems to be reminiscent of other fighter plane games out there. It seems like it would have been good, but it also appears that it had several DLC installments which gives me the thought that it may have been P2W. Worse yet is that the servers are down, but the DLC is still purchasable. Because you can buy it and not use it, I'm afraid I'll have to report this title as broken.

Do I recommend this title? Obviously not. Servers are down AND you can still send them money on a product you cannot use. Caution is advised. Do not buy the DLC.

0/10 HIS will shall not be done.

To be honest 1.5GB for a single achievement it doesn't seems worthy.

Play it if you really want to try the game.

If you go for achievements, there are plenty of faster options.

The planes control pretty terribly, so it's a bit hard to have much fun. If you need an easy perfect game this is for you though.

Dead Game ~ Don't waste your time, and do not buy any DLC.

The developers are no longer active, the official servers for the USA have been turned off.

You have two choices to play, you can VPN and try to access the servers in another region or you can edit your game files to connect to one of the hacked servers in North America. Neither is a good choice. Playing in another region the lag is horrendous. Playing on the hacked servers have most of the systems disabled, it's just you in a big empty world vs some mindless drones.

The game had potential but it's completely abandoned and not worth your time.

WTF even is this?
• Bounce off the ground like a dodgeball.
• No bullet travel time, its like ghosts. if its under your recticle it dies.
• Planes can just rotate left and right.
• no gravity, you can just fly straight up, until you hit the skybox.
• only about 2 square km map at its biggest.
• graphics and sounds from 1990, my old iphone had games with better graphics.
• random plane sounds when the map is empty.
• arrow keys and A/S to shoot. No mouse/Joystick options, the description lies.
• Not even going to get started on the MASSIVE P2W structure of the game.
• Broken English.

TL;DR: The dev's accidentally the whole thing.
