Was ist dein Begehr, Abkömmling?

Bin aufs FInale Produkt in paar Wochen gespannt.

1. Thespian Feast is F2P
2. You need the Context from Hellpoint
That's it. I will update with whatever problem I find, but I love Hellpoint
and Im loving this, and because it's free, there isn't much to complain about
This is basically a Free DLC/DEMO and there is nothing wrong with such a thing

I played an hour and got 2 critical bugs, 2 normal bugs and 6 glitches.
I just tell you 1 of those critical bugs and you will know how bad the game is, since this critical bug has been ignored more than 1 years.
Don't even think about to change the keyboard setting to the most suitable one you usually used, because once you change the keyboard setting, the system will then automatically change your keyboard setting to weird one from time to time DURING YOUR BATTLE!!!(make attention, during your battle!!!)
Any time when you find no response by pushing the right key during your fight, pls check your keyboard setting.
i.e. just like the function of S button was changed to ENTER automatically by stupid system, and make sure you have insure for your monitor, keyboard and mouse when you notice that.

Another thing worth noting, the textures and lighting in this demo are better than the main game. This demo is 2.7 gigs, but the main game is 5.1 gigs, even though the main game is much larger in playable size (obviously). Where are the improved textures at in the main game? Gonna have to find that out, either they didnt ship the main game with decent textures, or they just never got made (but got made for this demo)

It's got the best controls out of your regular souls-like wannabe. This one stays truer to the Dark Souls formula which means it has less places to make mistakes.
Apart from the crafting system I found all mechanics to be quite well balanced and enjoyable. There's different weapons with entirely different movesets, equipment on several slots that changes how your character looks like, a currency you get from enemies and can be spent to level up basic attributes and a solitary, gloomy world filled with enemies who have extremely well-made windup animations and you'll rarely get hit by something you couldn't predict.
The final boss fight is pretty great with the boss being better animated than 90% of current AAA stuff, even. Really nice moveset that boss had and it was a pretty intense fight.
Level design is good, a bit confusing at first but soon makes sense. I managed to get everywhere in this demo in around 2h while getting a little lost for a while. It serves it's purpose well.
It's very derivative but does its job well, and these days I'd rather have a consistent game than something that tries to innovate too much and fails on its own weight.
9/10 certainly going to buy the full game now.

Speaking as an avid Dark Souls player, this thinly-veiled demo is rock solid. Sold enough that even before completing it, I went ahead and bought the full game. Like any good Souls clone, the combat is about learning move sets, the exploration features secret passages, loops and shortcuts, the atmosphere is heavy and engaging, the art direction is eye catching, and the story is a mystery waiting to be discovered in fragments.
I could talk at length about the finer details, but really - this is a free demo that took me about three hours to fully explore and conquer; if you like Dark Souls, there's absolutely no reason not to try this.
The bonus is - you can import your character from this demo, into the main game... even though this grants you a massively overpowered character (the demo starts you at fairly high level, the main game starts at level 1).

Pros
+ Gory, shocking and grotesque theme that reminds me strongly of Diablo but with a bit of Dead Space because Hellpoint's set in space after all
+ Thank goodness for key rebinding (Note: if you're like me and can't get used to having dodge bound to the Ctrl key, you can switch the keys around via Esc > use the arrow keys to navigate to Settings > and you'll know what to do next)
+ The light cube that follows me around. Not a fan of games that are way too dark.
+ Custom difficulty - you can set your difficulty level via a breach. Naturally, I assume harder difficulty would make Axions harder to earn, and enemies harder to kill.
+ Intriguing storyline. I'm very curious as to what actually happened at the space colony.
+ Game currency is easy enough to earn and it seems like the game has a simple weapons upgrade system too.
+ Like The Surge, for a limited time, I can try to retrieve any Axions I dropped when I died.
Cons/Feedback
- I'm not a fan of the way-too-short-and-not-very-meaningful notes. I prefer moderately-length notes that describe what happened at the place. Maybe work on the writing?
- Combat feels clunky. The character I chose is supposed to be fast and agile and I felt like every dodge I make takes a second too long to execute.
- Jumping seems off. I'm certain I've tapped the spacebar - rather roughly I might add - for those times when my character just fell off the cliff to its death.
- Climbing ladder seems a bit off too. I pressed E to climb a ladder only for the game to push me over the edge and I fell to my death.
- Stats upgrade seems a bit bugged. Not sure if this is intentional, but it's weird that sometimes I'll get an increase to certain damage by upgrading Stamina or Health (it seems random though), but I won't get the corresponding increase in damage when I upgrade stats like Strength or Reflex.
- Was caught unexpectedly and dragged into combat several times while I thought I was safe and opened my inventory to check out my new loot. Had to fight off two disembodied hands using only my fists... lol. Maybe slow down the game time or pause it completely when a dialogue box is opened?
- Dropped Axions should show a time limit and there should be an indicator on-screen to show the general location?
- No map? I'm terrible with remembering places >.<
- At one point, I had a status effect (i think?) on my character and I can't figure out what it is. Tried Esc and mousing over it, but that didn't work.
Overall
Hellpoint has potential that's for sure and, for an EA-like demo, I think it's decent enough despite the issues raised. However, the game also has plenty of room to grow. Hopefully, the devs would take in all the helpful feedback and ideas given by their players and use them to improve their game.

First, the bad. The game is not very intuitive; the best example I can offer for this was 'I discovered that pressing the off-hand attack button does a different attack with my main hand weapon after a dash, because I'm trying to shoot the boss after a dodge and instead doing an overhand strike'. This demo, in my experience, is that - there's a ton of stuff here, and the game isn't shy about handing you different things so you can try different playstyles. The cost, however, is that it's not very instructive, and understanding what's going on and why can be.. challenging.
In addition, the game feels a little off, balance wise. Most enemies can be stunlocked with light attack spam - conversely, you have a solid resistance to interruption, so as long as you're comfortable trading, most enemies aren't particularly challenging. This is starkly contrasted by the few who DO have enough health and tenacity to be a threat, so it feels like you're going from 0 to 100, rather than scaling up in threat level. There's a system involving a black hole, with what I think is a clock? in the upper left corner of the screen, but I wasn't entirely sure what was happening. In addition, I had a room develop a sudden case of fog wall, and when I entered I was treated to what one of Code Vein's invasion events would look like, if the spawns just continued coming regardless of how quickly you'd killed them.
That said, I still loved this play through. The visuals are interesting, the decor has a grimy, future-meat aesthetic that I enjoyed, and I genuinely want to know more about what's happening here, or why everyone is a crazy meat thespian. Combat, though simplistic, showed me what I feel is this developer's own take on how souls-borne combat should play out in their universe, and to be honest I wasn't upset once I got used to the swing. Souls games have a habit of making every enemy a potential threat, especially with the way interrupts work. In this game, there are minute threats, and you know they are because your character doesn't even flinch when they attack. Regardless, they still hurt, and have to be dealt with. Once I got over the 'what is happening here' sensation, I appreciated the clear distinction between 'trash nonsense' and 'thing I have to care about and plan around', as well as the 'I still have full control of my character, but these five trash mobs will kill me if I don't fight my way out of this situation'.
All in all, I downloaded this to see if I was interested in the full game. Based on this, I am.

Also, who goes through the effort of making properly done demos in 2020? Someone put a lot of effor in this title and even if it's not the most refined game I have played in my time, this definitely deserves my attention.
Try it, you don't lose anything if you don't like it.

- Has a few visual bugs here and there, such as the blood would fade in/out depending on how close you were or how the camera was turned. Seems to happen more on local coop.
- Rest point system isn't very good. I don't know if this was a glitch or if this is some kind of timer system after you rest, but here are 3 examples. I would level up at a rest point and then go out into an area that I had cleared and all the enemies had respawned as I would have expected. Then at another point, I rested and went back out but all the enemies hadn't respawned. Lastly, at another rest point once again the enemies hadn't respawned, but I walked away to go do something in my room (since I knew for sure the area was cleared) and when I came back all the enemies were back and attacking me.
- Another minor complaint related to the rest point system is how my health shots don't refill after resting like most souls-like games. I enjoy difficult games, but this is just an annoying feature that makes the game a lot harder/less fun, since there are no healing items I found. I believe the only way to refill these was after filling a meter that gets filled from killing a certain number of enemies.
- Energy/mana and health potion consumable items would be a nice addition. Maybe they were in the game, but we never encountered them.
-The game needs to be clearer on when you can revive your coop partner and when reviving your coop partner will lead to your death. Since reviving requires the game to remove a large portion of your health in order to bring them back to life. Once, it gave me the option to revive my partner, but this ended up leading to my death and because I was player one, we lost and had to respawn from our last rest point.
- Lastly, and probably the worst part of the game was the clunky controls and obnoxious platforming. The game feels clunky so when you are trying to jump in certain areas, don't be surprised if you fall to your death. This happened multiple times to me and my coop partner.
Final score: 7/10

Visually, the game looks like it is 2010s. Dark Souls, that released in 2011, looks a lot better. By far the worst qualities are game's control scheme and character control. Keyboard controls are absolutely horrible, which works in tandem with very stiff movement to create a game that feels bad to play. Your character will get stuck at the end of attack combo, completely non-responsive to your commands (dodge works to get you out of this stupor).
I also find it strange that finding secret passages goes back to Wolfenstein 3d, ie. you repeated press interaction button on any flat surface in hope there is a secret--flash news it is not there 99% of the time. There are no indication a secret door is there, you just have to press interaction button on every surface.
There are two positives:
1. This is a free demo - you can try this game and be glad you did it before you bought it
2. Armor sets I found in the game look nice and look very distinct from each other.

The negative reviews this game has gotten all come from an issue patched quickly by the developer:
Before the hotfix enemies would swarm you before you could even get your bearings around the character. You'd be reading about how to swing your sword and then these flamboyant alien demons would come in a group and gift you new orifices from which to bleed from and they would take ages to die, but this has all been addressed by the developer. The build you'd be playing would give you a reasonably decent weapon, many bug fixes and if you are as fast as me a couple of hours of playing.
The developers are doing something very risky but smart: they have released a complete albeit short chapter of their game for free, much like a demo, and are using it to tune the balance of the game. Don't be afraid of giving them feedback.
