Willkommen in Vice City. Willkommen in den 80er Jahren.

Tommy Vercetti hat eine lange Haftstrafe in einem Hochsicherheitsgefängnis hinter sich. Jetzt ist er zurück in Liberty City. Doch kaum wieder auf freiem Fuß, wird er von seinem alten Boss, Sonny Forelli, nach Vice City entsandt. Man war verständlicherweise etwas nervös geworden, als Tommy wieder in Liberty City auftauchte, und so schien es eine gute Idee, ihn einfach mit etwas Geld in den Süden zu schicken, um dort Geschäfte zu machen. Aber es geht nicht alles glatt bei seiner Ankunft in der glitzernden, genusssüchtigen Metropole Vice City. Schon bei seiner ersten Transaktion gerät er in eine Falle und steht plötzlich ohne Geld und ohne Ware da. Sonny will seine Kohle von ihm zurück, aber Motorradgangs, kubanische Gangster und korrupte Politiker sind ihm dabei im Weg. Es scheint, ganz Vice City will Tommy an den Kragen. Es gibt für ihn nur einen Ausweg: Er muss sich wehren und die Stadt selbst übernehmen.

Im Jahrzehnt der wilden Frisuren, der Exzesse und der pastellfarbenen Anzüge spielt die Geschichte eines Mannes, der sich seinen Weg an die Spitze der Welt des Verbrechens bahnt: GRAND THEFT AUTO kehrt diesen Oktober zurück auf die PlayStation 2. Vice City ist ein riesiges Stadtgebilde, das verschiedenste Gebiete umfasst: Strände und Sümpfe, teure Geschäftsviertel, Amüsiermeilen und Ghettos. Vice City ist die vielseitigste, umfassendste und lebendigste digitale Stadt, die je geschaffen wurde. Ein nicht-lineares Gameplay kombiniert mit der packenden Story um die Hauptfigur wirft dich in eine Metropole, in der es von Sensationen und Gefahren nur so wimmelt. Es ist an dir, diese Stadt an dich zu reißen - und es liegt bei dir, wie du das anstellst.

Vice City ist eines der großen Tore nach Südamerika und in die Karibik und zieht daher viele Einwanderer an. Man trifft dort die verschiedensten Typen, und jeder findet Gleichgesinnte und Freunde. Es geht gesellig zu hier im Sonnentempel Amerikas, und der Neuankömmling lernt schnell alle möglichen netten Menschen kennen. Sportler, Popstars, Immobilienspekulanten, heruntergekommene Typen, jeden zieht es nach Vice City. Jeder will herausfinden, wieso es die am schnellsten wachsende Großstadt Amerikas ist. Doch, wie Tommy bald erfahren wird, ist Aufrichtigkeit auch hier eine seltene Charaktereigenschaft und Vertrauen in den wenigsten Fällen angebracht.

Vice City bietet Fahrspaß für jeden Geschmack. Für Geschwindigkeitsfanatiker gibt es rassige Flitzer und schnelle Motorräder. Sportliche Typen düsen mit einem Schnellboot oder einem Golfwagen durch die großartige Landschaft. Und wer die große Freiheit sucht, kann einen Helikopter chartern und die Schönheit von Vice City aus der Luft genießen.

Klar, dass man in der Party-Metropole Amerikas heiße Rhythmen und stampfende Beats erwarten darf, aber in dieser Stadt geht der Punk so richtig ab. Es wird dir die Ohren anlegen, wenn du dich durch Vice Citys Radiosender zappst. Steht dir der Sinn nach Action, dann zieh dir knallharten Rock rein oder fetten Electro Sound. Vielleicht willst du aber auch bei coolem Soul die Seele baumeln lassen. Und wenn du mal so richtig abschalten willst, gibt es großartige romantische Hymnen, die dich in eine andere Welt entführen.

Auf alle Action-Fans warten garantiert tonnenweise Fun und Abenteuer. Für alle, die gerne das Unbekannte erkunden, steckt Vice City voller Überraschungen. Die Stadt schlägt dich in ihren Bann mit ihren quirligen, lebensechten Einwohnern und den unzähligen Dingen, die es dort zu entdecken gibt.

Neue Waffen, neue Shops die man überfallen kann, neue Fahrzeuge dazu Motorräder, Flugzeuge und Helikopter!
Dazu ist Tommy im Gegensatz zu Claude vertont, und es gibt jetzt Immobilien zu kaufen die auch Einnahmen generieren. Diese Sachen haben echt in GTA3 gefehlt, deswegen ist das ein verdammt guter Nachfolger.

Er gehört wie alle anderen Teile zu meiner Kindheit, und jeder sollte es einmal oder mehrfach gespielt haben, auch wenn das damalige Feeling wie mit der PS2 nicht vorhanden ist.

I Have Maaaany Hours on Ps2 and this Game... omg Still One of my Fav of all Time. Just Because of the Miami Setting. Buy this. OR Buy San Andreas, it have more planes. Or do you know what? Buy the Whole Gta Collection!!!1111!!!11!!!!1

Mein absolutes Lieblingsspiel, bringt immer wieder Spaß mit Tommy Vercetti die Welt unsicher zu machen. Es ist und bleibt das beste GTA aller Zeiten.

Nach Jahren mal wieder die ersten Missionen zu Spielen war sehr entspannend.
Grafik is wie von früher wie man es kennt :D

Lief auf Windows 10 ohne Probleme, nur beim Start des Spiels empfehle ich das Spiel nicht zu minimieren, da es sonst abstürzen könnte.

Definitiv eine Empfehlung allein wegen Nostalgie Faktor

Its just super old and plays clunky and buggy, it might have its fanbase but for me it lacks the freedom and possibilities of other parts. GTA V is a better choice.

Well, it's the best classic sandbox game in a true retrowave style. It takes you to a nostalgic and loaded 80s full of prosperity, neon, clubs of the time, palm trees & very good musical atmosphere, festive, full of sensations and with a great soundtrack and good life <3.

I guess I don't need to comment more about this endearing game, since everyone knows it...marked a before and after in the aesthetic culture...

Was mich ja mal richtig nervt ist diese verfluchte geschnittene Version, weder Blut noch Geldbündel und was das schlimmste ist, das die Radiosender gekürzt wurden, die Hälfte der Lieder wurden aus dem Spiel genommen.

From doing missions to loafing around guns blazing to tuning into kchat to listen to then ridiculous and almost accurate predictions and everything in between, this game has something for everyone one of your moods. Loved it as a kid, still love it. One of the best open world experience among the games from its era have had on offer. Absolute blast. Didn't try the remastered though. It looked like dog ****. Get the original! or go for some mod.

Vice City... What a nice place...
Good game. It was a very enjoying adventure. Good, classic mafia story with colorful characters, black and funny humor, good 80s music, some insane madness and fun fun fun. Really liked this gta. Thanks to Rockstar that they fixed some of the issuies from GTA III, but it is a still old game, so it has problems and limitations. Still great and memorable video game. Highly recomended.

As much as I enjoy the story of vice city this game has so many bugs and issues even with mods that fix issues I cannot recommend it. Missions bugging out and not progressing prevent me from enjoying the game that lead on to borderline frustration. I decide to just watch a walkthrough on the game and give myself a 100 percent save file. Maybe the definitive edition one day can be fixed to be more playable than this mess. Just wait for that POS to get its shit together than maybe vice city will be playable one day.

Playing this immediately after replaying GTA III, I could tell R* threw all their success money into this title. Every aspect of the game has been significantly improved and expanded upon, which makes Vice City a GTA still worth checking out. I really enjoyed revisiting this game and jamming to the radio stations once again!

Played all the way through with the Classic Enhanced mod and it worked great.

Absolutely loved this game. The missions were great. Story was good enough and the radio stations were absolute banger. I used the Enhanced Edition mod to run it smoothly and didn't face any major bug. Also remember to save in multiple slots while saving because sometimes the save files might get corrupted. So it’s better to have some backup.

Greatest Gta game ever made. Has a very interesting plot similar to my favorite film 1983 Scarface with a fun gameplay and the radio of vice city has some banger tracks definitely a game to have a good time with.

GTA Vice City is on of my favourite games of all time and the first GTA i have ever played on playstation 2 back in the day.
The atmosphere is amazing, city feels very alive depicting a lush life in the 1980s Miami. The missions are interesting and action packed with plenty of side missions to do as well. You can also go for collectibles , stunt jumps, rampages or just roam around and explore the city filled with random encounters.
Vice City radio.... needs itsown tribute, i personally love retro 80s music so the radio will stay with you even after the game atleast it did for me.
Its also worth mentioning Rockstars sarcasm and humor in every bit of the game like missions, radio, commercial, funny dialogues and all the small details that make GTA games so good.
GTA Vice City is a classic open world game from Rockstar i would recommend it to anyone but for many people like me that experienced this game years ago now its prue nostalgia and enjoyment all over again.

Nostalgia hit hard with this one, an absolute classic, that is worth every second of your playtime.
and is easily the best setting in a Grand Theft Auto game to date.

IT'S A MUST TO PLAY! EZ, 10/10

P.S: PC version is a bit scuffed, but a few mods can quickly resolve all of the issues and run the game flawlessly. so before you decide to play the game, I'd recommend checking the guides section ;)

There is a chance when you buy it where you cant play without modification of the game. weather its going into the game configs or downloading a fix. I'm not a fan of buying games that wont work when i click play. I Loved the game growing up but i cant recommend a potentially broken game.

I'll review this for the Steam community since it's on sale

PROS
- The Vice City port is great if you want a nostalgia trip or just want to try out the GTA's you haven't played yet. I would highly recommend it

- It's a classic. Straight and simple :)

- Great look back into gaming time

- You can input cheats! NPCs fight! Cars explode! Gun cheats! Wanted Level cheats!

CONS
- The game is from the early 2000's Era of Gaming. It doesn't hold your hand and pushes you to succeed. If you fail a mission it's all the way back to square one. You have to buy your guns, armour, and whatever else back and have another go.

I highly recommend looking at this guide made by the community https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=121158609
that goes over all health, armour, and gun cheats. Also spawning vehicles too because if you get annoyed with empty streets without cars that don't spawn fast enough, you can spawn one in. HOWEVER, it's not how the game was originally played in 2003 and many years after.

- Be wary that the game doesn't come with bug fixes from Rockstar, they just kinda threw the port on Steam. I HIGHLY recommend you look at a bundle of mods made by the community that enhances textures, adds things back in, and fixes things for the modern PC https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=706270825

- My game had times where it refused to open or would stay stuck open and I couldn't close it through Steam or task manager. Same point as above, it was ported poorly. This also goes for GTA 3 as well!

Brilliant GTA Game, another smash hit classic that will be remembered for a long long time, this is probably one of the key games that propelled the GTA Franchise to the top of story telling, open world games. The cast is fantastic with some big names and some really great improvements on its predecessor such as buying buildings and having more interiors, weapons and more. I played this with the definitive edition mod to make it work better, I would recommend this to anyone who loves the GTA series. First time ever playing this but I still loved it, highly worth a playthrough

After so many years, I have finally finished this masterpiece. It was hard for me to understand as a kid what I had to do to progress to the final missions until recently when I found out that all we had to do was making at least 5 properties profitable. Even though its graphics and gameplay are outdated, the game never lost its magic, the soundtrack and story are awesome. Some missions are still hard to do, but if we try enough, we can complete them (except that helicopter one, that one made me rage a lot).

Overall, this game is still good until today. I hope that one day, Rockstar develops a new GTA that brings us back to Vice City!

Fuck you Rockstar and Take-Two Interactive. Fans have been trying to fix your busted, ailing PC port of Grand Theft Auto III and Vice City and try to preserve those games better for future generations. The re3 and reVC ports had so much promise, but then you come along and had to abuse DMCA takedown to silence these people's hard work in getting these games to run better on modern versions of Windows and port it to other platforms legally, when a multi-million company like you can't be bothered to fix or properly port these games yourself. I'm glad I didn't pay for these games myself on Steam and only bought a second-hand copy of the Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy collection off e-Bay, my money doesn't deserve to be part of your paychecks.

Give the GTA modders and users back their rights to use the re3 and reVC ports you greedy fucks.

Grand Theft Auto: Vice City is a criminal simulator, where the main antagonist, Tommy Vercetti get out from prison after 15 years, but his maffia family don't want to see him again, so they send him to Vice City (Miami) to do a drug business for the family, but the business is busted and thugs stealing the money and the drug, killing on part of the trade party, and you are the sole survivor, with a lawyer.

Before you want to play this game, I want to suggest you to download Silent's patch for the game, due to the horrible mouse sensitivity. I don't even know how I was able to play the game like that.

Also, if you can't control your mouse, in the Task Manager, set the number of CPU cores the game use to only Core 0 (use 1 core only). It fixed for me.
Also, I recommend you to try out the widescreen fix for the game and adding new textures. What I used is ThirteenAG's pack with widescreen fix and textures. Really good stuff.

One thing which felt amazing in this game, comaparing to GTA 3, is the gameplay. It's really similar like in GTA 3, doing missions to different persons, and you can do the same collecting activities too, however around the end of the game, you need to build your criminal empire, buying assets and making the maximum from them, with completing missions over there. It's pretty fun, and there are lot of different ones too. Also, there are new activites, like doing stadium races or street races, buying more safe houses and lot other. Now, we got new vehicles, like new boats, motorbikes and helicopters. However some of the vehicles are hard to control, so be careful, but most of the time is fine. Also, some issues got fixed from GTA 3 too, controls got better, gun fights are not that bad either. In general, it's pretty fun game, however it has some issues, like some cars are really hard to drive, the AI is still horrible sometimes, some conversations feels weird and I think this is the gta which has the hardest mission from the earliest ones... but maybe this is how the 80's look like... (please don't @ me).

Next thing which I really liked, is the sound and music. Well, more like the music, because the soundtrack is amazing. Lot of well known 80's hits we can hear, but we can listen to different genre, like Rock, Pop, Hiphop or Electro. Pretty good stuff, just like the other sound in the game. Some of the random voice lines are really good, and also the characters has good voice actors too. However, if you Alt + Tab in the game, meanwhile you have a cutscene, there is a good chance, the audio will be not synced. Also, sometimes there are missing audio, but that was rare for me. Either way, this issues either because of you, or just rare to find.

For me, who grew up on this game, graphics is not too bad, especially good looking if you got the mentioned Widescreen Pack. In general, it's better looking than GTA 3, it's not that sad or melacolic, like there. Colors are really good with this game, some models looks legendary (but why did thy changed the Banshee look in this game :( ). However, graphical glitches are also here with different forms, like sometimes you can look through walls, textures are low quality sometimes, sometimes lighting is flickering and some others. If you can get through these issues, it will be fine, but this is not a now days game, so graphics could be a tough point.

The story itself is interesting, there are some twist in the game which it made good, and seeing Tommy's story, how he become the best in Vice city is reminds me of story of Scarface. Well, there is no secret, the devs had the ideas from that movie, but it was pretty good still, but some cliché stuff is in there, too.

Controls is all right if you patch the game... however if you don't, the mouse sensitivity gonna give you a bad time. I don't know why, but it's like in horizontal way, the mouse more sensitive, than vertical. Also, the game still got some weird habits from GTA 3, like Tommy don't like to jump in front of a wall or anything and some vehicles have weird controls, too. Not bad, but get ready for it.

If I want to be honest, GTA: Vice City is obviously a fun and good game. I really didn't liked it when I started to play it, but after I got into it more, I really found my linkings in it. It's different from the GTA 3 and definetly something else than San Andreas, but this is a good game still from an era. I can definetly recommend the game. For 10€, it's not a bad price, but considering to get it cheeper.

This game was my first contact with this game series.

I was at my neighbour's house since they had a pc and i didn't to play some games. He tells me he got a new game and if i wanted to try it. I said YEAH, lets's do it. I roamed around the map for what it felt like hours upon ours of me riding on a bike and listening to the different stations on the radio. It would be a couple of years later i would get a pc and play this game by myself and oh boy was it a ride.

Characters are awesome, story interesting, that remote helicopter mission was a pain in the behind, the environment really gives you that '80s vibe they were trying to achieve.

If i could go back in time to just feel like a kid again playing this for the first time i would. Too bad it requires a lot of patches to run it properly on current machines / windows 10.

You can spend whole day running around the streets of vice city and never get bored. I know it's not as good as GTA V but c'mon. It's a 18 year old game. Brings back all the memories. Devs' have done a great job adding support to windows 10. It supports 1080p+ at 60 fps. You don't need a fancy high end graphic card. I recommend this if you play with integrated graphics.

This Game is Good but there are a couple of issues here sometimes the mouse doesn't work and other times when you load your save the game gets a black screen and you have to restart your pc to use it and other times the game just crashes by its self

This is the classic Vice City I remember growing up with, this game gets the 80s criminal world right. It reminds me of the movie Scarface. This is a fun old-time classic.

One one of the best GTA games and a PS2 golden classic.
It's pretty old and technical problems and old-school mechanics can make you justifiably mad but you can get used to it and enjoy yourself immensely.

There's some mod pack for getting this to work in modern resolutions at 60fps but as long as you install that this actually still plays surprisingly well for the most part (the RC missions can of course fuck off, as always). Playing this today is like time travelling although not to the 80s but rather to the christmas holiday of 2002, and damn if racing down the streets to Hall & Oates doesn't feel just as good now as it did then.

Grand Theft Auto: Vice City was the first time I became truly, manically excited about the impending release of a video game. Grand Theft Auto 3 had blown me away with its unprecedented freedom, compelling story, and anarchic style of play. I couldn’t imagine what was next, but I wanted it very much.

When it finally arrived it too would blow me away—but for altogether different reasons.

Far from Liberty City’s dreary present day New York, we were off to the 1980’s—that infamous decade that even now seems incapable of death, kept alive by a thriving synthwave scene and a collective nostalgia for a decade only a few of its many adherents spent any real time in. I’d know: I’m one of them. It was my first visceral association with a decade that was not my own, brought so vividly to life in Grand Theft Auto of all things.

The game arrived on the 29th October, 2002, my thirteenth birthday, in pastel hues splashed with seductive pink and blue neon, under the glare of a sun that seemed to shine solely for the benefit of this one city on the bottom-most tip of that western land we call ‘America’.

The city itself was replete with luxury condos, long stretches of pristine beaches, a thriving commercial district, and the unique flavours of its émigré communities. It was, of course, doubling for Miami—the so-called ‘capital of Latin America’.

Having grown up in the drab North East of England—where the 1980’s signified a dark and oppressive era of conservative politics—Rockstar’s sun-drenched paradise captivated my imagination and created a yearning for a past I had existed in for all of three months. Which is to say not at all, as I can have no conscious recollection of it.

We call that anemoia.

Resenting my place of birth, with its fading industry and depressing council estates, the game’s city appeared to me as something of an exotic fever dream—both this fictional city and the one from which it arose, too easily conflating the two in my young mind. I didn’t understand it nor did I think I needed to. I just wanted it.

The city itself was far enough into the 1980’s to have shed the social and economic upheavals of the 1970’s and fully embraced the ruthless and self-interested tenets of the seemingly unstoppable neoliberal agenda.

A truly corporate America had formed under the guidance of a B movie actor sitting in the Oval Office (in concord with a tinpot dictator in Old Blighty's 10 Downing Street), decrying the authoritarian communist regimes of the east whilst at the same time covertly supporting brutal far-right forces in South America.

For some in North America the 1980’s was all flashy lights and gaudy riches—a shallow exterior that served to disguise an empty heart where only the individual was king.

“The point is, ladies and gentlemen, that greed, for lack of a better word, is good. Greed is right. Greed works. Greed clarifies, cuts through, and captures the essence of the evolutionary spirit.”

Rockstar sought to capture Gordon Gekko's abhorrent creed by creating a place in which it seeped from every pore and motivated the dark hearts of the men and women who occupied it.

They called that place ‘Vice City’—simple, evocative, and instantly iconic as a piece of pulp—and laid out a path to power lined with ambition, betrayal, and blood, all to the tune of one of the greatest soundtracks to grace gaming either before or since.

Vice City is not the 1980’s in a strictly historical sense, although it is partly that. Nor is it a facsimile of the decade’s media, such as Miami Vice and Scarface, although it is a bit of that, too. No, it takes place in a hyper-realized 1980’s that not only derived its shape and texture from the history as it was, but from our cultural reconstruction of that history.

It is a fantasy of the 1980’s, constructed from the collective consciousness we now have of what it was, what it represented, and how it looked in that one particular place in Florida, with the neoliberal creed as its bedrock. And for Rockstar that fantasy was lurid and violent, perfectly encapsulating what they wanted players to achieve within their game world. Namely, total domination—to become an embodiment of vice.

That embodiment is one Tommy Vercetti (played with relish by Ray Liotta) and he’s probably one of the best protagonists across the medium. After fifteen years in prison he’s sent to Vice City by his former boss to organise a drug deal, but it goes wrong real quick. Realising the only way to stay alive is to fight back, Vercetti starts seizing the city from its drug barons and criminal overlords and crafting an empire of his own.

It’s a story culled from every gangster movie ever, but it’s hard to complain when it’s told this well.

If ever there was a time and place to explore the meaning of the Grand Theft Auto franchise, it was right here in the 1980’s. The heavily fetishised world of Vice City is ugly and avaricious, thinly disguised beneath the neon sheen.

It is, to this day, a near masterpiece of satire, absurd in every particular and an unforgettable pastiche of a hypocritical and grotesquely unjust America heedlessly embarking upon a path that would allow an amoral and unscrupulous property developer—himself the purest distillation of the decade in a human being—to hold the highest office in the land thirty-five years after Ronald Reagan first took office.

Beyond the synthesisers and the endless replication of its media, the 1980’s are still with us in all too insidious ways. Its political ideology has redefined the world over, and playing Vice City now you realise Grand Theft Auto could never have found a more ideal form in which to let players nick cars, buy up property, and slaughter anyone who gets in their way.

Rockstar’s satire spares no one, lampooning conservatives and liberals alike. VCPR, one of the radio chat shows, is a riot. Whilst the humour mostly hits its mark it’s too often in pursuit of little more than provocation. Such provocation is not really in its favour, either; the game is severely dated in terms of its treatment of women and minorities, and its offences in this regard are pretty egregious.

I still think it holds up gameplay-wise, expanding its predecessor's mission structure into a set of tasks with multiple tiers. Basic stuff, yeah, but at the time the shifts and turns mid-mission felt fresh, lending a real organic quality to their individual narratives.

It’s obviously not all perfect—Rockstar’s Grand Theft Auto series for the PlayStation 2, whilst ambitious, often lacked polish, and any attempt to 100% this thing will require more than a bit of determination and grit. I’ve done it once before, but I couldn’t do it now. There’s just no way in which ambulance missions are acceptable forms of entertainment.

With all that being said, I maintain Vice City is a near masterpiece whose world is a crystallisation of the 1980’s not just as we remember it, but as we have chosen to remember it, in order to create a fantasy of lavish opportunity and exotic comfort.

As a kid, I saw it as a dream. And beneath that haze of heat, across those crystalline waters, between the palms and before that brazen neon-lit avenue called Ocean Drive, there is indeed a dream.

But it is an evil dream, and as maniacally fun as it is in game-form, it might just be time to let that dream die.

Welcome to the ' 80s.

From a decade of big hairstyles, permissiveness and pastel suits came this story — about one man's ascent to the top of the criminal pyramid. Vice City is a huge growing city, stretching from beaches to swamps and from up-and-coming neighborhoods to ghettos, and is the most diverse, full-fledged, and vibrant digital city ever created. Combining non-linear gameplay and story, the game gives you a chance to take control of this degraded city, filled to the brim with pleasure.

Really a shame this game doesn't work properly for me. This was a big part of my childhood. However with that being said I would recommend you try your luck elsewhere. The mouse refuses to work properly without tweeking the game. This would be fine, although you may have no luck at all trying to get it to work. I personally will be returning to the ps2 version of this game. Even though I would love to play this on pc, I would much rather deal with a disk and controller just knowing I can at least play this classic game without any headache or drama.

Even if the game is for mature audience, it is a part of most of our childhood. Ironically, right? And, except for the scenes of violence that anyone can see anywhere on the internet or on TV, the game can have a positive impact on anyone. I mean, just listening the radio can improve your music taste. The music played on the GTA Vice City radios is just GOOD! I found myself sitting in the car or driving around the city just to listen the radio. Damn, I am listening this radios in my car IRL. This is how good is the music in this game!

This game is, maybe, the best example that graphics aren't everything in a game. GTA San Andreas was as good as GTA VC, maybe better. But GTA V, even though it has great graphics, it has not left its mark as these games have. Maybe because I'm old xD.

Anyway, I totally recommend this game, but after you install 2 (two) things:
1. GTA Vice City Defitinive Edition Patch: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=706270825
2. Large Address Aware: https://www.techpowerup.com/forums/threads/large-address-aware.112556/

First download helps you run the game. This game has not been updated to run on new PCs and it will crash at some point. Also, the 16:9 port is bad. The patch is adressing all theese issues and many more.

Second download fixes some crashes when the game is using more than 2 GB of RAM (because the patch is using higher quality textures, the game will use more than 2 GB of RAM from time to time. And the old games had this limitation to 2 GB of RAM)

In conclusion, I will say that this game will go down in history for those born in the 90's and who grew up playing this game. Now I'll go back to Tommy and finish the game. I hope I can get past the mini-helicopter mission. Then I will continue with GTA San Andreas. See you there!

As always grand theft auto Vice City delivers.
With the funny accidental glitches as NPCs flying straight up disappearing or lying down sweeping over the floor up to you to punch you in the face etc...

The missions are story driven and it is an interesting story of Miami in the 80ies...
All the music feels very eighty.

I have seen people who never played any other video game played this game, they fell in love with it and would express their love for this game. If my memory servers me right, this is like the first Grand Theft Auto video game that I've played without even knowing its name, like I played it with this dude on his PS2 who I just met because my family were visiting the dude's family at the time. This game, playing for the very first time boggled my mind. It was something I have never seen before in my life, like the experience of playing it, stealing cars, dying, respawning, driving cars like nuts and doing so much more, it was so damn fun. One could still play this game today and truly enjoy it. I just finished it today like after years of not playing it and guess what I loved it. Again, all because of Rockstar Games, godbless em, they truly know what they are doing.

Game was amazing, to finally finish it after just dicking around 9 years ago. After 11 hours of intense gameplay this game really stuck itself in my memory forever, even though some missions sucked like all of the racing ones this was a masterpiece just as SA, too bad they don't make games this good today..

My childhood game. Words cannot describe what this game means to me. For some people San Andreas is the best GTA. For me personally it is Vice City. The game was heavily inspired by The Goodfellas (1990), the Scarface (1983) & the L.A. Confidential (1997) movies. And they did it in a way that it's just really aesthetic and beautiful. The storyline aswell is really well thought and put together. In a world full of corruption, Tommy becomes from a common drug dealer to a kingpin. The dialogues are a little more serious than San Andreas which I prefer more personally. The voice actors did an amazing job aswell especially Ray Liotta. In addition to that, Vice City has aged better than GTA III. Some sceneries are still very breathtaking.
I've finished this game 4 to 5 times in my lifetime and I'm still not bored of it. It stills holds a special place in my heart.
Only reason I gave it a 9 in my rating is because I wish the game was a little bigger. Other than that, it's just perfect. It has a perfect balance to almost everything.

Absolute perfection.
Setting is what sells this game and why it is in my opinion the best GTA ever made.
Gameplay is an improved version of GTA 3 and this game has a solid story much like the movie Scarface.
Without the vibe it is still a solid game with fun mission, well except the toy plane.
10/10 I would Dance with Lance Vance again.

Achieve your dreams of becoming a drug king pin of Mia--- Vice City.

Classic game and my most favourite GTA, until HD rendition of Vice City comes out, following the story of Tommy Vercetti after a deal gone wrong. Enjoy beautiful soundtrack, neon lights, fast cars, big guns, real estate and gruesome murders as you claw your way to the top.

I recommend some mods to make the game look more up to date. It has been over a decade, the looks are starting to fade. Many of the guides here on Steam should set you up.

Don't forget to save every now and then, the game never crashed on me, but still. And don't forget that Tommy can't swim.

It's hard, no, impossible for me to be objective about this game. This was my first ever PC game. I spent thousands of hours on here back when I didn't know Steam even existed.

But let's put it like this. The game works pretty decently even today. Whatever doesn't work will most likely now have a fix by diligent members of the modding community.

This is no GTA 5. There are no really elaborate missions and you can see technical limitations around every corner. BUT that doesn't mean this game's not a marvel of design. It's still extremely stylish. The music is timeless and the gameplay's still a total riot.

Tommy and friends are some of the best characters in the series and the 80s Miami like setting is very well done.

But again install silentpatch to fix a some things rockstar didn't

Overall good game, minor bugs such as if you save a game, there is a 90% chance that you cannot look around (as if your mouse became unplugged).
Cons:
-Map is small, not as large as San Andreas
-No ginput (weird controls for modern g shock and xbox controllers)
-some cars tip over too easily
-height limit
-controls have to be mixed around (or else the game is a pain to play)
Pros:
-Radio has great selection of music
-does a great job of representing the 80s in Florida
-very bright (San Andreas is too dark IMO)
-Storyline is good
Grand Theft Auto Vice City is a good game to start playing the 3d Universe for the average player. Map is small and other annoying bugs slightly hinder the game. the missions are not to easy but not to hard unlike gta 3. A good game, but rockstar should have patched some bugs.
