I just paid 148 eur to get this in 2022. Dosen't even metter that i cant run it on windows 11. i had to have it to complete collection.

today exactly 22 years ago that this masterpiece was released this game is part of my childhood (i know this sounds fucked up ) its an amazing game still today to see where the franchise has come from and what they have achieved nowadays
this is a must have (ps for the people who want to get this game this game is downloadable for free and its allowed since its no longer being sold or supported (https://gta.com.ua/rockstargames-classics-free-download.phtml) hope this was helpfull for someone .

This GTA is different due to the camera angle, it has more of a 2D feel to it. However the idea is the same, open world game where you steal cars, kill people and explore. The cities are like levels, you beat a city and then go to the next one. There are 3 of them and each city has 3 gangs. The thing is, you can't travel from one city to another. Instead you gotta choose them from the menu. The way you beat them is a little different too. Instead of completing specific missions, or a number of missions, in this one you gotta reach a specific amount of money. The money system is a little bit different in this game as you get money from kills and vehicles destroyed. Missions will give you money too. So you got 2 options : Either join a gang and complete missions for them or destroy everything until you reach the amount of money needed. Be careful with gangs, respect is everything! The more you kill other gang members the more likely you will get attacked when you enter their area (kinda similar to San Andreas).

I was having fun. I really, really was. The controls felt way more polished than the first one, being able to choose the factions you do work for was a nice adition, and the jobs themselves were really fun to do, with the added bonus that if you failed them now you could just retry them instead of being locked out. But then, the crashes.

Fours hours playing, three of those just messing around on the first level. When I finally hit the target score to unlock the next and go to get it done the game crashes. I restart, play again and it crashes again at the same spot. I decided to just use a cheat to unlock the next one and do one mission, only for the game to crash as soon as I pick up the second one. Looking around the only fix I can find is for a Windows 10 issue, so no luck fixing it as I did with the first one.

I'll most likely go after this game on a more stable platform, but this one is a hard pass.

Reviewing games I played a long time ago:

I'll admit I never spent much time around GTA2 at the time, always felt it was more of a glorified expansion pack than a proper sequel, but playing it now I do enjoy the technical improvements that were not as noticeable at the time. The graphic engine is a lot more versitile and robust which means it's a LOT easier to play in modern PC's. Driving and overall gameplay is much improved compared with the first game.

Some didn't care for the changes in this one but I loved the factional mission idea and I enjoyed the darker grittier tone of it all. Just as moddable as the first one and another great sense of freedom. I loved this sequel!

I think its the best GTA ever made its really great fun when you can get it to not crash lol. Its a shame that you can't buy it on steam anymore however there are still gta complete back steam keys floating around for around $20 which contains all the gtas that were released on steam so thats nice

Haven't played this in about 20 years, one of the harder GTA games for sure(not that GTA games are particularly difficult mind you). If you have played the birds eye games before you'll feel right at home, I actually like the gang system but the cops are damn persistent

The controls are terrible but once you get the hang of it, this game can be fun to jump into for 10-15 minutes now and then for a mission or killing spree or two. It's interesting to play if you've played GTA 3 and the later series because a lot of the radio stations, commentary and other concepts appear first in this game. Saving or pausing the game is a pain in the butt though so look up how to do those online before playing. Also, watch out for enemies that punch in this game! Punching bypasses body armor and in no time flat you can end up wasted or busted by a single mugger, vigilante citizen, or cop at close range if you are not careful.

Ageless classic. The whole city is accessible for exploration and banditry. A lot of improvements compared to the first part - graphics, management, larger locations, more interesting missions.
