Über das Spiel
In diesem Action-Roguelike musst du Horden von Monstern in jedem Level mit Angriffen automatischer Waffen überleben. Weiche aus und sammle Beute, um deine Chancen in der nächsten Runde zu verbessern. Alles dreht sich um Strategie, Reflexe und geschickte Bewegungen.
Waffen und Zubehör zu sammeln und sie strategisch in deinem Inventar zu organisieren, ist überlebenswichtig. Dein Inventar ist begrenzt, bevor du also einen neuen Gegenstand aufnimmst, solltest du seine Stärken und Schwächen abwägen und überlegen, wie er in deine Gesamtstrategie passt.
Sorgfältige Inventarverwaltung kann den Unterschied zwischen Sieg und Niederlage ausmachen. Im Verlauf des Spiels sammelst du ein großes Arsenal an mächtigen Waffen und Accessoires an, die dich zu einer unaufhaltsamen Kraft machen, mit der jeder rechnen muss.

Apocalypse party has pretty bad reviews for bugs, crashing and wipes and I purchased this title just after a major update with bug fixes so it feels like my five bucks just wandered off to die in red flag land. If by chance it does get it's major issues under control and it's the genre of game you're into, I'd recommend, but until then... (blows raspberries)

StS meets Backpack Hero and it works well.
Still the late game is not fun or meaningful.
When you have unlocked about 80% of the game, that s when you see that the game didnt get a lot of care. Some weapons effects are not working as written. Some classes specific passives are not working as written. And the balancing highly favors 2 or 3 mechanics, so you are kind of building always the same items, around whatever weapons the game gives you.
It gets repeatitive, stompy and not rewarding as unlocking more of the game only unlocks class-specific items (over different 12 classes).
Lack of replayability, but very enjoyable moment while it lasted.
Get it for about 50h of fun gameplay. At this price, it s free real-estate.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying it's a bad idea. I'm saying it's a fairly decent idea that fails to truly impress and entertain. And what's worse, there's no backup coming from any other aspect of the game, given that they are passable, but not much more than that.
At the end of the day, God of Weapons is functional and enjoyable enough in my book. But this is a tentative recommendation at best, one you should only consider valid if there's a discount available.
For what it's worth, I hear there's an update coming. Who knows, maybe it'll manage to sufficiently elevate the experience.

Pros: Enjoyed the interplay of items and figuring out what to combo with the best. Also inventory tetris-ing to squeeze in that one last piece of gear you want is satisfying. If you get to the end most runs after a point felt godly in the boss doesn't pose much (which can be good or bad).
Found that I unlocked most of the stuff and was running around with no further use for the collectible pieces since nothing to buy further. Which I wished there were stuff to do with. Run modifiers like anvil being more common or more bosses and tweaking it to be harder could have been neat options for excess currency stuff.
Classes and their variants (plus the unique class item) can be interesting or just meh variants (looking at juggernaut and the item anti-syngeries with default item for example). Found singularist, scholar and rogue pretty fun.
cons: There isn't that much variety in the items for some tiers even once all the unlocks due to luck restrictions and alot of unlocks being higher tiers. Additionally for some stats there's not that many items. Like midgame attack speed is mostly clocks which if you are lancer class with default item aren't that great for you.
It also felt like ranged was severely lacking at highest difficulty tier for most non archer class(class with buffs to ranged) unless you got lucky. pierce dmg drop off(50% for most) makes it kind of a useless tier 3 item. There is a swarm of high spawn rate so you want to get high attack speed but don't usually get enough projectile power/dmg/crit.
Finished all the achievements (tip:the general win a run with x ones aren't listed in order so for example you might need to finish the 2nd class to close out the 3rd slot of the general achievement). Not that difficult to 100%.

Bullet hell style is good.
Unlock system is good.
Art/design is good.
The game loop...not great. It is the same level(s) over and over and over again with the nuance coming only from characters and their respective achievements.
Thumbs up, but could be better. Achievement hunters will like for the cost, especially on sale.

Now I know it's not exactly Backpack Hero since the slots are randomized a bit, but don't let that dissuade you.
I can also understand how the difficulty might dissuade people but remember Backpack Hero was also hard, since the game makes you focus on inventory.
To put it simply, it's Backpack Hero except the weapons are more deadly, also now there are tiers.
So if you want a game that's Backpack Hero meets Vampire Survivors, then this is for you.
10/10 would play again.

I wish we could just stand still and manage inventory while the game plays. I'm just a bit tired of the same moving patterns from these type of games.
Otherwise the inventory management is cool, I'm liking all the potential builds so far and the flexibility of it.
At that price point just get it if you like the genre.
A good mix of Backpack Hero and other survivors.
