VERWALTE ROHSTOFFE UND STELLE VORRÄTE HER

Also hab mich jetzt ja etwas damit
etwas die open World ....

welche Ressource jetzt wann für was benutzt
mal andere Modi testen.

ganzen umfangreichen Bedienung auseinander

Bewertung: 7.5/10

Review: „Siege Survival: Gloria Victis (PC)“

„This War of Mine“ trifft auf Mittelalter-Szenario!

I loath games with time limits and incomplete explanations.
Short window to do stuff every day -- but I spend most of the day completely confused about how im supposed to do anything. So by the time i do figure something out, my time is up, and im failing.
Tedious micro managing of everything.

I am tempted to call this a knockoff of This War Of Mine in a medieval setting because it does copy most of the mechanics of that game, though to this game's credit, they put a lot of polish into the mechanics and thus it has a smoother feel to it. It has a lot of the same design elements. There is a day and night cycle where during the day you are building up your base to make your life easier while during the night you are sneaking through the city and scavenging for supplies. This game adds a twist where you are supplying your local soldiers with food, medicine, fortifications, and weapons so they can better combat the invading enemy. It is well done and a fun experience of waiting out a tense and prolonged siege, though I am keenly aware of its similarities to This War of Mine.

As others have said, the same mechanics as This War of Mine... mostly.

A few GOOD key differences: integrated map locations, you can start in one and move to another. Uses an 3d top down graphic style rather than 2d. The Bastion 'support the soldiers' element is interesting but not onerous. The first mission easy and will take about 6-8 hours. From there the game opens up to a second castle and map, and at least 5 variants on each mission, including characters, distribution of resources and the events and blockages on the map. Story was good enough too.

The BAD: Doesn't have the same heart to the stories as TWoM. Nor the same atmospheric feeling of oppression. The characters don't seem as diverse as TWoM either - but perhaps I've just not mastered that element yet. Although there is replayability, I suspect that once you get to know the few map variants and variances it becomes fairly easy to drive an easy victory - but the same can be said of TWoM too.

All in all, I'm glad I bought it and will enjoy a good few replays - but probably not straight away.

It's not a terrible game, there's just not a lot to it. They obviously saw the success of 'This War Of Mine' and thought they'd make a medieval version of it, but they've left out all the heart and story.
It's just busy work for several hours and then it presumably ends. I'm not sure I'll sit through it all, to be honest.
I'd ask for a refund, but it technically works which means Steam has no legal obligation to give a refund, and so they won't. I should have bought it on Epic...

If you liked This War of Mine you should like this one.

It plays very similarly to This War Of Mine with biggest difference being that its in 3D.

I played through base game few times (offline hours do not reflect actual game time ) and started the Caravan scenario but got distracted and did not finish it, but it is on my road map to finish it.

My cons probably would be:
Well 3D - rotating the camera around to see is a bit tedious.
Clicking to speed up is also tedious a little bit.

Other than that its nice game, resource gathering characters that have some skills for example faster building etc.

Fun game, if you like the gameplay loop of this war of mine you will like this.

Two main scenarios/maps at this point. The scenarios in each map is somewhat similar with some slight navigational differences. Similar to this war of mine they extend the gameplay by creating different characters to play with. Personally i felt this war of mine was more punchy in terms of making you feel the impact of your actions (such as remorse for stealing food, or feel the risk/benefit of taking down a soldier). In Siege survival you scavenge to survive and that is it, no real consequence to what you do.

Good firm base here and I think with a filling out of the gaps could be a great game. Look forward to seeing more.

Hmm... I like the very early gameplay. but it quickly becomes repetitive and boring.
Still managed to get to the end and see what's there. But I just felt like I wasted 6h.

The foundation could be neat for something bigger. It reminds me a bit of Robin Hood: The legend of Sherwood and This war of mine, that you have both base building and exploration. However it just quickly bogged down to repetitive and bland gameplay.

There is potential. The very first 30 minute was great. I hope the devs could do a better job next time.

A missed opportunity .

FIrst, the good part. Artwork is decent and the look and feel is quite neat.

Unfortunately, the game is no fun at all. Sneaking feels tedious and very rushed as the time limit of one night is very timid in game. Improvements and finds are fueled into the garrison with no reward feeling for yourself whatsoever.
There are several characters, but unlike this war of mine, you barely feel any connection to them.

So overall, a game without fun is sadly a waste of money and time.

The walls and armaments need repair, the morale is low and the castle is in disaray. How long can you hold out? Just a night? Just a few days? Or maybe all the way til those reinforcements you keep hearing about shows up? Anyway you play it this siege game is a standout and one that keeps things fresh and fun. Defending at day and scavenging the town at night for supplies, i love it.

I nearly give this game a Thumb up, but while it have a good concept and interesting first few hours, after a that it became repetetive and boring.

Build part is done pretty good. I like it.
But the scavenge part is a lackluster and ony fun for a first few days, after that it became just chore and grind for resources.
I hope devs will improve something in that regard and i will change my review.

Bulld part: 8/10
Scanvenge part: 4/10.

It's sort of 'This of War of Mine' in Castle Defense setting: manage resource at day time, stealthily scavenge at night. Solid 7/10 game, has little replayability, but it's ok for that price. Might have been much better with a bit more story at nights, a few more upgrades and a tad more choices. Has nice UI, has ultra-wide support, no bugs.
Minor issue: UI elements overlap, needs marks to distinguish loot points and looted stuff.

This is as hardcore of a survival game as you’d ever possibly encounter and I’ll be honest, I struggled immensely and still haven’t found a way to balance the needs of my people , the animals and the bastion . Speaking of the bastion , that in itself was a huge headache and I felt like it often took away from the game because you’re literally trying to feed 25 men on top of your animals and everyone of your characters. I would have liked to have an option to completely turn off the siege scenario and just play and learn the game before having to take on the huge task of providing for an army of people. You start with two more but there’s scenarios where you’ll run into different people to recruit them but I don’t suggest doing that until you have consistent sources of food and water because the bastion is extremely demanding . You’re not only having to send them food, water but you need to fix their weapons , armor and make them arrows which you first need to upgrade the storehouse , then make a furnace and then wait for an entire day to receive the materials to make them . You also have to constantly have shovels because there’s tons of areas that are blocked off and if you don’t have a shovel you’re completely stuck which happened to me numerous times and I end up dying and losing the siege as the army fell on day 20 . I will say that the UI is easy to learn and they do a decent job at teaching you the ropes . I did find myself confused at times where I should use the shovel because it’s only a one time use item that you don’t get until you’ve upgraded the work bench and like I said , there’s quite a number of areas blocked off by rubble . If you liked this war of mine , dead in Vinland , help will come tomorrow , you’ll enjoy this . I do wish it was a little easier and thankfully you can customize the game to the difficulty that works best for you and being able to pick how hard the battles are , how many resources are available, your starting characters and they also have many different locations which I didn’t expect but I loved , as well as 3 different story modes in unique and fun environments . I definitely recommend but be ready for a bit of a learning curve your first couple play throughs

This is such a unique gem!

If we generalize a bit, there are two kinds of gamers. Those who always want the same of what they know and those who always need something new. This game is really focusing on the latter group by mixing different mechanics into something new entirely.

About the developer there's to say that they do communicate nicely with their audience and that they already added a free extra scenario, which plays pretty different from the first one. Oh and the first scenario has a lot of different variations.
Also they added a scenario editor so I hope to see some community content soon.

This game is for you, if you say yes to maybe 3 of these:
- strategic elements
- exploration
- sneaking
- base building
- you like sth in your library for when you wanna chill out a bit
- trying new things is cool in itself

Siege Survival: Gloria Victis

The alarm sounds and before you can begin to process what is happening people are running for their lives. The enemy is here and you join the mad dash to try and reach the keep as flaming arrows rain down around you. The town falls quickly, so quickly, and you can hear the cries of the dying all around you, people you called friends. You barely make it to the keep after moving from hiding spot to hiding spot and bar the gate behind you.

You can’t be the only one that made it can you?

Siege survival: Gloria Victis is one part base building, one part survival crafting, and for those of you who are fans of This War Of Mine, the mechanics of the game will be very familiar. The game does an excellent job at making you feel the desperation of the situation you find yourself in and you must work for every bit of progress.

By day you must try to maintain the keep and provide supplies and equipment to the men guarding the wall. By night you must sneak out into the occupied city to collect resources and recruit survivors while avoiding enemy patrols. Time and resource management is critical in this game and it may take a few playthroughs to strike the balance the game requires.

Every few days the enemy mounts an attack where you must avoid siege projectiles and hope that the parts of your base that are in the open are spared and the wall holds. The outcome depends on how well you have stocked and fed the defenders of the wall and what repairs and improvements you have undertaken. The graphics of the game are done in an isometric style and done well with the cut scene animations handled nicely too.

I am a bit torn on this one if I am honest, whilst the game did nothing wrong, I came away wanting just a bit more of everything I got. I never really felt emotionally invested in the characters and the choose your own adventure style dialogue options did not help with this. Some of the moral choices I faced felt a bit forced or contrived and I feel just a bit more polish here could have really improved the narrative and made the characters more than a mechanic to be managed.

The pacing of the game is pretty good and the build during the day scavenge during the night cycle means you are never short of things to do. I did however find it to be rather repetitive after an in game week and wanted something a bit more dynamic to break this up a little bit.

The game has a single small area where you build your base and a single town where you scavenge at night. The town is quite large with various sections and would likely take more than one playthrough to fully explore and loot.

An average playthrough seems to be in the region of 6-8 hours and there are other options that are unlocked after your first run. That being said, with the same base, map and skill trees I am not sure that I would pick the game up again, at least in it’s current state, and that’s a shame.

If you enjoy this style of game and the ability to not lose a lot of time with multiple playthroughs then this is certainly not a bad game. For me, I found myself wanting just a bit more variety, depth and complexity.

It is worth mentioning in closing that a small dev team have put together this game that has no bugs that I have come across on release. They are very responsive and receptive, and are planning to address many of my areas of concern in future updates based on the feedback they have received.
This is not something to be sneered at and I will be keeping a close eye on the progress of this game.

Challenging survival game with a lot of gameplay and UI similarities to This War of Mine. It took me a couple of playthroughs to get familiar with the time and resource management, and I'd recommend a 'story mode' run to learn the map a little and the timeline of events so you can plan more effectively. Note: you won't be starting in the same place every time, so learning the map doesn't make it automatically easy mode. Nice to see they have more challenging options and customizable scenarios right from release, and I liked the breakdown at the end letting you know how much you've still got to build and discover - good motivation for another playthrough ;)

Parallels This War of Mine closely without the annoying parts IMO. Scavenging is more fun (albeit very similar to TWOM), and having the siege play out in the background puts a very interesting twist on the game. You never feel like you have quite enough of anything, and one bad night looting or one severe mishap may leave you overran.

People like to bitch about how hard it is....well yes it is but if your AMAZING supercomputer of a brain couldn't figure it out, then it must suck for EVERYONE right?? Smh....ignore people who don't recommend the game simply because they can't succeed in it.

That said, the game needs some polish. Building structures and completing tasks could use some tinkering, but it's not so bad that it really interferes. Long story short, just give it a try. They have a pretty damn nice demo if you're on the fence.

An interesting mix of mechanics...

This game is LITERALLY 'siege survival'. You have to survive a siege on your castle and scrounge together what little resources you can, to re-supply your troops on the front via periodic transports.... if you fail to keep the troops on the front supplied & stocked, then your castle is overrun and you die. That's literally the game.

The game requires very precise resource management and there's very little room for error. Your characters can get wounded and if those wounds aren't treated then they die. Your characters also have to constantly sleep, eat, drink, etc. in order to remain productive members of the castle, or they simply die.

I have to say that none of the time I spend with the game, was enjoyable. It was stressful and tedious, and no fun was had. It's not to say that games like these won't appeal to a certain demographic of gamers (like those that play Dark Souls, etc.), but I am simply not one of those gamers that enjoy this type of tedious game, and so I can't recommend the game. I play games for fun, and this simply wasn't fun.

This is a very well thought out game with many details that they accounted for. I enjoy all the aspects of the game on trying to survive and while doing that you are to support your warriors. At the mean time you are given the option to attack the enemy or evade. The graphic quality for this genre is as expected. My only compliant is the price for the game, but I have not completed the game and I am not sure the amount of hours you can get in the game yet.

I really like the design of the game. It's simple, but fun. I'm worried it won't last long enough, but they supplement that with a sandbox mode where you can create your own encounters and share it with others. I look forward to seeing what the community creates.

I refounded the game. This doesn't mean it's bad, just it's not for me.

Very much like This Was of Mine, but it miss its intuitive platform. Basically TWoM is 2D, while Gloria Victics is 3D. It adds more complexity while scavenging, having to deal with point of view.

I had a minor problem when the zoom in/out mapped keys were not working, could only use the mouse wheel. But out of my habit, I would have preferred those keys to work, along with the QWEASD interface. Then I could not access the PG info with skill and stats, tried to find a shortcut key with no success. Probably at this point I find myself using a counter-intuitive product.

Those situation above made me quit. I did not get very depth in the game, less than 2 hours, but for some reason I felt it was not for me. I am sure there are many players which will find that awesome, the game looks polished and art and maps are very nice to look at, just I was not into it. It's sure worth try, then up to you to keep it or not, if you play no more than 2 hours.

Looks like a strategy game, plays like a linear puzzle. I had to spend a few in-game days sitting around doing nothing because I didn't loot things in the order the game expected me to during the nighttime scavenging sections, I wasn't having fun so I refunded.

Played a couple hours so far and I like this game a lot. it's challenging and definitely different from the standard strategy experience. You aren't the direct defenders off the castle. You control various townsfolk trying to both survive and play a supporting role to the troops defending the castle, you can fight a guard or two but you aren't controlling bad-ass killers just average peasants sneaking out at night to find water food and materials to build and repair things with the next day. During the day you order the townsfolk around doing things like making food, bandages, repairing weapons and armour for the soldiers then sending them out. hopefully that helps clarify what is different about the game as I've seen so far.

Medieval version of ''this war of of mine''.
If you enjoy both of those things, this is certainly the game for you.

But how does it compare to ''this war of mine''?
It is similar because of:
- Resource management, leave your castle/base to scout the map for building materials, food and weapons.
- Day/Night cycle. You leave during the night to find stuff. You use what you found during the day to build up your castle to become more self-sufficient.
- Recruitment. New characters can be found and recruited during the scouting missions at night outside of your castle.
- Stats. Manage your survivors health/hunger/thirst/energie(tiredness)/morale
- Enemies. You can choose to fight enemy soldiers or dodge them by staying in the shadows.
- Speciality. Different survivors are good at different things. this makes you think about how you want to bring on a mission with you.

-----------------------------
This game is different from ''This war of mine''
Because of the following pro's:
-----------------------------
- It's medieval times!

- Instead of chosing 1 location at night out of many, night time is set on 1 big map with different area's. i like this better cos sometimes i had planned to go to 1 area, but could not pass because i did not have a shovel or there were to many guards. so i just changed my plan and looted a different area. Very nice.

- Supporting the troops: There is this whole extra dimention to the base management where you don't only take care of your survivors, but also have to plan ahead to provide the soldiers that defend your castle with the right amount of food, gear and medical support. This makes it more strategic. when you go out at night to look for Loot, do you focus on building up your buildings to have an easier late game? or do you bring back what the soldiers needs right now? again, very nice.

- Catapult!: though the mechanic is very simplistic. it feels satisfying to see those enemy numbers subtract when you fire that thing.

- Top-down camera: more freedom of movement. It brings more tention to the game. The way lighting and the camera works adds to that. You don't see what is around a corner before your character can see around it. Sometimes i thought i figured out the patrol route of a soldier, only lose my shit when i turned a corner and ANOTHER soldier came my way.
- More good things you should find for yourself.

-----------------
This game is different from ''This war of mine''
Because of the following con's:
-----------------
- Emotion: The game does not bring the heavyness and bleakness of war that TWoM has. That might be the astetic choice, which is fine. But it also does not let me feel as connected to the characters as i wish it did. TWoM has character logs that update every day they go through something. This game gives you a character log from the start about the character. but it does not record their opinions and feelings. i would love to see that.

- Morale management: Morale in this game is a almost a throwaway stat. The only way it went down in my playthrough is when 1 of my characters died (which happened once). Which also brings me to my next con...

- Game is too easy??: i played the normal story game mode and finished it in 6 hours. Which is a good time for 1 play through imo. However. i never felt like my survivors were ever in any REAL danger. The only reason i lost 1 of my dudes is because i gave him no food/water or sleep for a few days, just to see what would happen. **SIDENOTE** the game has new game plus and other modes/game starts what should be harder. i did not play those so i might be wrong here.

- 1 base: Where TWoM has multiple maps and bases, this game has only 1 Base and 1 map. Now the map is big enough to where you (or at least i) need multiple playthroughs to find everything. But i hope it doesn't get boring on multiple playthroughs.

---------------------------------

FINAL THOUGHTS: (minor spoilers for ingame story)

This game is a wonderful taste for those who enjoy This war of mine or just medieval settlement management/stealth games in general. The music and estatic is great. The whole concept of defending a castle by doing everything BUT the combat is a welcome new mechanic that i would love to see done more and expanded upon. I would love to see the game pull me in more emotionally though. At some point early in the game you meet a soldier who goes missing at some point. it is clear to me that the game wants you to care a lot about him and hope for his safe return. But it had failed to make me connect to him enough to make me care. This could be helped by having this soldier be part of your survivors for a few days. Or make him add something to the ''daylight'' phase that is really missed when he is gone.
Also i feel like the game has GREAT potential for MORE gameplay. Add more maps. new/bigger castles. A winter mode where you also have to keep your people WARM as an added mechanic.
Heck add some voice acting to both castle mode and nighttime mode so i can hear soldiers talking when i sneak by them.

I would recommend it. But i would feel even better about recommending it if the developers announce more content.

Cheers

Greetings and Salutations everybody!

Today we're taking a look at This War of Mine.

Oh sorry. *clears Throat*

I mean we're gonna take a look at This War of--- dammit!

Okay this game is basically This War of Mine but with a medieval setting rather than a modern day setting.

Does that automatically make it good? No

Does that automatically make it bad? also No

Overall I think the game is pretty good. It does what This War of Mine did but it also builds upon it and adds to it. It's also very realistic and logical when you think about the overall idea and theme they were going for. Basically everything makes sense.

Everything looks good sounds good feels good and works good.

I really enjoyed myself and I intend to keep playing it.

This game is a lot of fun but it's also a lot of trouble. It's a very difficult and harsh game. If you're looking for something simple and easy then this is definitely not for you. But if you're looking for a gritty survival simulation game that challenges you and shows the genre to you in a different way then You're going to get a big kick out of this game.

I highly recommend this game if you enjoy survival simulators. It's a good one and could possibly become a great one. And worst case scenario if you still don't believe me I have two more options for you. First you can look at my video on Youtube which has gameplay and a more in depth look with more information (link below). And after that if you're STILL not sure, then download the free demo and give the game a try.

Thanks so much for reading and I hope I was able to help you spend your money wisely.

A very unique gameplay take on castle siege where you play as the back end of the war - trying to support your army while trying to sustain your people. At night you get place in a unique position to scavenge the city while dodging and hiding from the enemy's guards - to find resources ! def worth it - there's also a demo to try out before you buy!
