Friday the 13th: The Game is a third-person horror, survival game where players take on the role of a teen counselor, or for the first time ever, Jason Voorhees. So traurig, dass das Spiel einfach aufgegeben wurde, trotz des großen Erfolges. Ich hoffe die Entwickler machen sich nochmal dran es auferstehen zu lassen, vielleicht unter einem anderen Namen etc. oder ein anderer Entwickler bringt etwas ähnliches raus. Man hat ja gemerkt, dieses Spiel hat eine gute Nische getroffen, die immer noch nicht ausgefüllt ist. Zum jetzigen Zeitpunkt kann man es natürlich NICHT KAUFEN. Das Spiel ist tot.

Developers dont do anything against hacked lobbies, you cant play any normal game anymore. Game is fun to play, but developers dont care about fixing issues in general.

Ich finde das spiel nach all den Jahre immer noch cool doch mich nervt es das es sehr viele Hackerlobbys gibt wo man sehr schnell Levelt das mach den Spielspaß leider kaputt aber droßdem gib ich daumen nach oben.

Man kommt jedes mal in eine Hacker Lobby, was absolut kein Spaß mehr. Laute Spieler die man nicht stumm schalten kann oder mehrere Killer.

Valve/Steam sollte bei Spielen wie Friday the 13th dringend den Stecker ziehen.
Es ist eine Frechheit Spiele zu verkaufen, welche unspielbar sind.

Als eigentlich vertrauenswürdige Plattform, bin ich hier von dieser sehr enttäuscht worden.
Spiele welche keine Unterstützung mehr vom Entwickler erhalten auch noch in Sales anzubieten... sowas ist wirklich traurig.

Nehmt den Dreck vom Steam-Markt!
Es gibt keine Server mehr aufgrund irgendwelcher Rechtsstreitigkeiten.
Nur noch private Lobbys funktionieren, bzw. irgendwelche peer-to-peer Verbindungen.

7 Freunde gleichzeitig online zu haben für eine Partie Friday the 13th wird wohl sehr schwierig für jeden.
Schnellspiel ist unspielbar, wenn ich kleine Kinder schreien hören will oder Musik die ich nicht hören will, dann geh ich lieber ins Freibad.

Hätte ich das Geld für das Game doch lieber einfach in ein Lagerfeuer geworfen oder mit dem Feuerzeug angezündet.

Macht echt Spaß.. aber es gibt Momente .. da würde ich den kompletten PC ausm Fenster schmeißen bei manchen Mitspielern. Aufpassen! Es wird viel beleidigt

Nettes Game, ab und zu sind zwar Cheater in der Lobby und es buggt manchmal, aber in Großen und Ganzen top Game.
Edit: Mittags kann man das Spiel aber kaum spielen weil fast nur Russen und Kinder in der Lobby hocken und auf ihrer Sprache sprechen was kaum Spaß macht dann.

Das Spiel ist ganz cool aber wenn man Vorteile kaufen möchte bugt es bloß rum und hört nicht mehr zu buggen... bitte nach 20 Jahren mal fixxen.. DANKEEE

Ansich ist es ein gut gemachtes Spiel.
Einige Runden gespielt, gewonnen, verloren, Jason versucht zu töten...
Doch im Endeffekt ist es in meinen Augen nur ein Zeitvertreib für zwischendurch.
Meiner Meinung nach nichts langfristiges.

Macht spass mit den richtigen leuten ! Doch leider sind ihn jeder Looby 6 von 8 Russen die Musik abspielen dauerhaft schreien mit soundboards und mehr . Der ping ist dauerhaft über 100 zu 300 + nur am laggen. Kauft euch das nicht ist geld verschwendung und die zeit nicht wert !!

Als ich das Spiel mit meinen Freunden gekauft hatte, dachte ich, dass es so toll wäre wie Dead By Daylight. Leider wurde ich enttäuscht. Der Killer geht viel zu langsam, die Server dauern sehr lange und es ist eine viel zu große Map für 4 Überlebende und einen Killer. Wir sind dann leider zu anderen Spielen umgestiegen.

Widerlich steif, ein Jason, der sich teleportieren kann, hat einfach nichts mit diesem Jason zu tun, wie man ihn kennt! DAS GAME ist GELDVERSCHWENDUNG! Ebenso als Überlebender irgendwas machen zu können, Sprinten ist nach 5Meter alle, pure Frechheit dieses GAME, an die MACHER, schämt euch-shame on you!

Its 's much Fun to watch the Game so i wanted to play. The Game crashes all the Time, no fixes work and seems like many People got that Problem, also doesnt seem like theres many Players left. Rip :(

Didn't have much fun when I played, since I went into public lobbies.

This game is probably really fun with a full group of people in a private match, but, if you don't have that and are looking to play in a public lobby with randoms, don't get this game.

Buncha hackers, and it won't be fixed due to the non-dedicated servers, coupled with the lawsuit over the rights for Friday the 13th that has stopped any future updates from releasing.

This game was fun until Jason could kill you in 3 slashes as of late, he doesn't even need to grab you, not to mention there is 2 or 3 so you're basically dying and trying to come back a LOT. It takes forever to get out of his grip so you won't, they just made it really hard to play, you can't see Jason on the map like you used to which was more realistic that your senses would help you decode where he is/was. This is just unplayable now and super hard to play even when you try. The team killing and car running ppl over is another story but what really bothers me is just that the new update or mod of this game now made the game super super unplayable whereas it was fun, unpredictable and enjoyable. Now you are just waiting to die, we need to have the changes back to how they were, people had more fun even in hacked lobbies. You had more options, Jason was easier to spot, you didn't die as easily, he didn't detect you under the bed as quick, (which provided a fair advantage considering how many players can fill up a lobby) and the grab kills were way more animated than now, which don't exist anymore it seems. Please fix this or you will lose a LOT of fans of the franchise and the awesomeness that makes this game and movies fun, wild and epic (and new fans just getting into it). Give more creative freedom and don't restrict the game! Still is kind of fun to play but these issues need to be urgently addressed for the sake of all the fans and the franchise.

Don't buy the game. It is fun, but stay away from PC. All the lobbies are hacked and the only way to get into a match is if you host one, which can take up to an hour to fill up. Play on console for your own sanity.

Multiplayer is boring, probably more fun on console. Not to mention the many hackers. I played one to two matches and somehow managed to gain 150 levels. I would rather earn the levels then have them handed to me.

I've played this game on xbox and it was amazing, however. The pc version is completely ruined by hackers and modders and loud microphones that you can't mute. 30 minutes into the game i already wanted a refund.

Man, I wish it wasn't dead :( I love Kenny and Debby and the counselors sm they had so much personality and as a Friday the 13th fan this game was a blessing but now also a curse. Watching the game fall apart with me. You can still play, just with hackers. There is single player in the form of offline bots but you can only play as Jason and the challenge levels are still fun.

Game got ruined by cheaters/modders as well as people who just micspam extremely loudly and lag the game to the point where it breaks. Only worth it in private matches. Game deserves to go F2P at this point.

Viruses, hackers, overdriven music, unmutable toxic community

If you are looking for hacker lobbies, annoying kids and a toxic community that can’t be muted, this game is for you! Get it now!

As you can’t mute players, have fun with super load overdrive music and screaming children. Also, once you join a public hacker lobby, which you will definitely join first time you try to join a public game, it will install shit on your PC that blocks all other game modes and forces you to play in public lobbies with hackers.

Unfortunately the developers don’t care about the game. This is one, if not THE, worst game(s) I have ever played. Selling this should be illegal!!!

This game is a total mess. Shame, cuz its such a cool concept. You can propably have a lot of fun with a group of friends, but if you want to play public matches with randoms.... Not only you will have to wait around 10min, you will also be thrown into the lobby with 20+ players, in which you will end up killed not by the killer, but your teammates. Ppl constantly dancing, playing loud music, 90% kids screaming in their mic. This plus huuuuge server lag makes this game unpossible to enjoy. I hope it will go free to play one day, so i can at least try it out in a bigger group of friends (dont buy it even for 5$ like i did, its not worth it).

Played on Linux using Proton, Only bought this as it was on sale and rather cheap, Can only play Single Player Modes as EAC is used for all Multiplayer Modes:(

Single Player Modes are bot match, you play as Jason and have to kill the Counselors (Love this part) you can earn xp and level up.

Also a kind of Mission mode where you have to kill Counselors in a certain way.

Also a walk around a cabin mode which lets you look at objects around the cabin and gives information about the Films/Actors/Game etc.

Graphics are Good, Sound is Good, Game Play is okay.
Don't bother with DLC's for custom Clothing Packs as no way to get them to work on Single Player (Offline Mode):(

I did like the Bot Match Game and so far have played about 4 Hours, so for less than 3.00 GBP it was worth it and i will be playing a lot more Bot Matches for sure.

I will recommend the Game for Offline mode but only on sale, as the multiplayer parts don't work:(

GREAT experience with full lobby of friends..! (public lobbies are mostly filled with cheaters, please dont play like this)
the singleplayer challenges are also pretty fun and........ ye, challenging:)
its SO much better than dead by daylight by the way, totally get this if you have someone to play with!!

Stay away from this game. It is mostly dead and the handful of people left playing it are some of the most degenerate, mentally ill people I have ever come across in my 20+ years of gaming. All public lobbies are hacked with up to three Jasons, sometimes in excess of 30 counselors (combination of NPCs and live players), they spawn in extra escape vehicles, batteries, gas canisters, etc. This was one of my favorite games back in my Xbox One days, now it has been hijacked by one group of absolute losers and neither Steam or Gun Media gives a shit.

The sad reality of my experience with Friday the 13th: The Game is that I’ve been aware of its existence ever since it launched back in 2017. For a while, it was the main game of a streamer I used to watch, his streams being my favorite thing to come back from school to. Yet, I never got to play it in its prime. Fast forward a couple of years and support for the game has been discontinued, due to some stupid lawsuit, making me lose interest in the game completely. However, having noticed it was on a hefty discount this past December, I simply couldn’t pass it up.

What I found was a game that is as fun to play as it was to watch all those years ago, but in a state where actually getting to play it, as it’s supposed to be played, is an awful chore. This isn’t due to bugs or anything that the developers had done prior to being forced to abandon it, but rather what they hadn’t.

There’s no lobby browser, so you’re at the mercy of the matchmaking to get placed into an unmodded lobby, hosted by another player. You could opt to host yourself, but then you’re just further splitting the already miserable player base.

“Hold on, modded lobbies?”, you think to yourself, “Why, that doesn’t sound so bad!”. And I’d agree with you, if there was still a way to have the intended experience, without having to jump through hoops. Not only do these lobbies make the game run awfully, but they also ruin the balance and have inflated XP rewards, which ruin any sense of progression the game has. I have scoured the internet in search of communities that still organize legit matches, and while I have discovered that the game’s official Discord is still a good place to get one going, not once did I come across a person who enjoys these lobbies being a thing. Why and who they’re up for is a mystery to me.

There is a single-player mode, but rarely is playing against bots as fun. That, and you’ll be missing out on playing as the counselors, the more fun half of the game in my opinion.

If you’re playing on the side of the counselors, your goal will be to escape the map. This can be done in one of five ways, such as repairing broken vehicles to drive away in. There’s always a strategy at play here, which is what makes it more interesting, if at all when compared to other asymmetric PvP titles.

Your plans might depend on a couple of factors: your selected counselor, the items you find, and your perks. Yes, the counselor you play as isn’t just an avatar, as each of them has different stats. If a counselor has a high repair stat, they’ll have an easier time with the repair mini-game that happens when fixing vehicles or the fuse box to the phone you use to call the police with. If they have a high stealth stat, Jason will have a harder time tracking them. Sneaking and running around isn’t the only way of avoiding him, as evident by the strength stat - the higher it is, the more damage will a counselor inflict on Jason or have an easier time knocking him down.

To do so, you’ll need weapons, which aren’t the only thing you’ll be able to find as you move around the camp. There are plenty of useful items, such as beartraps that stun Jason should he step on one, firecrackers that can throw him off, health sprays, flare guns, the various parts you’ll need to fix things, etc.

The last thing to keep in mind are perks, which can be equipped as you see fit and are in no way restricted based on which counselor you’re playing as. I’m not a fan of how they’re implemented, but they alter your gameplay in notable ways. Outside of a match, you can spend the unfortunately named CP (Camp points?) to roll for a perk. This will, alongside the main effect of the perk, provide it with two random percentage-based modifiers; a positive and a negative one. For example, one perk will let you start with a health spray, but will also increase the amount of healing you receive, as well as increase the amount of damage you take. There are many more, but you get the picture. Perks will come in six different rarities, depending on how high the numbers are, from poor to legendary. I don’t like this at all. It doesn’t fit the game thematically, feels arbitrary, and grindy. Not to mention, rolling for these is a pain due to some backend server issues, as you can only roll for a few at a time before the game forces you to stop as “you’re doing things too fast”.

Jason is a lot simpler, but more limited if you come across a well-organized group of counselors. Basically, you have to kill everyone.

There are multiple Jasons to choose from, each based on a different movie from the franchise. These alter some stats, like weapon damage or cooldowns of certain abilities. Other than that, each Jason plays pretty much the same. He has four fixed abilities that all make him traverse the map faster or track down counselors easier. He has a melee weapon to hack ‘em down with, throwing knives, and traps to place at key locations – both of which come in limited amounts.

Another ability Jason has is the grab, which lets him perform one of four preselected cinematic kills, unlocked with CP. Unless a counselor has an item to break out of the grab with, it’s pretty much over for ‘em. This is the only unfair part of Jason’s kit in my opinion, in an otherwise well-balanced game. Sure, he might feel overpowered when you’re just starting out, but he has to be strong enough to stand a chance against that potential well-coordinated team of counselors. Once you run into one of those, you’ll realize how every tool at your disposal is necessary to deal with them.

As for the single-player mode, you have two options. One is playing the same matches as online, just with bots in the role of the counselors. The other is is a Hitman-esque challenge mode, where Jason has to traverse the camp unnoticed and take out the counselors one by one. They get some fleshing out, as the mode has a neat little story to go along with it. The counselors are actual characters and their gameplay stats reflect their personalities a bit. They’re pretty well voice-acted, too. The game sounds and looks solid in general. The atmosphere is great, which is surprising for a game based on a franchise not known for atmospheric horror or subtlety.

The game’s a bit hard on the GPU. To get in running smoothly at 1080p, I had to turn down pretty much every setting to Low. Increasing any, other than textures, meant a necessary decrease in resolution as well to maintain performance.

Verdict

Friday the 13th: The Game is a bit corkscrewed. Even if a good chunk of my hours was spent looking for or setting up lobbies, I got it for exactly 3,12€. It’s a deal I’d take again if given the chance. Hell, I’d go back in time and buy the game earlier, if only I could. Maybe you should as well before it’s too late. It is a most recommendable game, in a rather unrecommendable state.

Hackers have destroyed this game. If you want to play anything other than bots or challenges, good luck. You will always load into hacked servers and there will be 60+ counselers and like 4 Jasons. It's annoying

It's weird to think that a video game could have changed someones life, but that is exactly what Friday the 13th did for me. I have more reason than the average player to love this game. Like I said, it changed my life.

When I first played this game I was in a real low part of my life and just trying to have fun online. I loaded into a match and met someone who would forever change my life and also later become my wife and give birth to my son. When I first saw her she was maining Debra in a bunny outfit and dancing for Jason so he wouldn't kill her. I mean it when I say I did everything to become part of her friend group and slide into her dms.

Listen boys, finding that gamer girl...or that someone special can be done. It's not as impossible as it seems.

Anyways, thats my reason I love this game more then the average player, this game may be broken and in a dying state currently, but it will always be the place I met my wife and found true happiness. Thank you Friday the 13th.

It's a well developed game, having played it on other platforms. Problem is, player base lacks communication with other players, lacks strategy with other players, includes teamers, includes trash-talking. The game is best played with people you know, and in a party outside of in-game chat. It would be rare to find a lobby of mature adults, that didn't include teenagers and children with a little to much lip.

With the game no longer being updated, despite having a good amount of active players, you also run the risk of seeing cheaters using in-game exploits (mounting on top of large boulders for example) for the purpose of game wins.

Game can be fun, but it isn't always so.

I love this game and the movies, it can still be fun from time to time but if you're expecting a developer supported game with patches and updates then you've come to the wrong place :/

Long story short, this game is still available to play in multiplayer but there are no official servers which allows hackers to create their own.

If you intend to buy this game for the multiplayer matches, i currently cannot recommend it. There is enough players but the big issue on pc is the modded and hacked lobbies. These lobbies have multiple jasons... and unlimited amounts of counselors. I just like the normal game, so this is unplayable for me. When searching for a match in quick play you pretty much get forced into these lobbies because there is no player cap. This makes it really hard to be able to play the game normally.

They have said on the forums they are working on a solution, but also because they don't actively develop the game anymore, because it's not profitable due to the lawsuit anymore, it could take a while...

But otherwise, i really love the game. I played it a lot on ps4 so i was really disappointed to find it near unplayable on pc.

I will update this review if this changes.

The devs doesn't support this game anymore. It's full of hacked rooms and players. It is really difficult to find a decent match. Since the developer servers don't exist anymore, we need to connect direct to other player computer. if the hoster left (and they do leave a lot if killed), the match ends. The connection sucks most of the time.
it's a nightmare. Better to be sliced in half by Jason in real life than trying to play this game.

In it's current state, nah it's a waste of money. Unless you somehow have 8 magical friends ready to play at all times.. even then it's a 50/50

The game was in its prime back in 2017 then the lawsuit hit and well..

Do yourself a favor and buy a console. Multiplayer games on PC are easily getting contaminated with a bunch of hackers and modders who destroys the gameply n all your fun. This game is kinda old so it is totally unrespectfull seing all this contempt to the consumer due to the lack of measures the developers hasn't taken to fix this essential problem.

Just got 3 cars spawned on top of me getting me killed. There r some actions survivors do that spawn guns, making the killer unable to walk.
9 of 10 lobbies are filled with this annoying mods. And to fulfill a session takes about 4 to 5 minutes until game begins.

Don't buy this game on PC. Totally a waste of time and money. I used to play it on PS4 and i can say console is totally safe and playable.

This game has completely died now. It was a thing of beauty when it worked properly and people played it how it was intended. Then it was taken over by hordes of Level 150 Vanessas only choosing the Packanack small map, which took away any variety in the gameplay (they generally had a tantrum and left the game immediately after it started if you tried to choose any other map, rendering that match pointless). Then the hackers destroyed it completely. You can't even join a normal lobby now - they're all hacked and broken. If you're lucky enough to have a team of 8 players available for a private match then please go ahead and enjoy the game, otherwise, don't bother.

Edit - Going to try Last Year and Home Sweet Home Survival as alternatives to this.

Sad Day. This game has been rendered unnplayable by any wannabe hackers whose only joy in life is ruining a purely recreational game. The usual profile is a 12 year old with minimal brain development and access to google. The rarer breed, neckbeards, approach the game with complexes and feel the need to exploit the game for some pathetic sense of control in their little world. This was one of my go to games to unwind and have a few laughs, but with no support it has become a wasteland of wandering undesirables. Never liked Dead by Daylight, but now it's time to cross over. Thanks F13, it was fun while it lasted. RIP

Over this past weekend, I have played over 15.6 hours of this game. My honest review: 8/10. Here is why:

Pros

Easy to learn how to play Jason and Counselor
Enjoyable Experience
Good variety of Characters and Jason

Cons

Can be difficult to get a full lobby.
1/4 of the lobbies you enter will be hackers
The game doesn't get updated.

Overall, Friday the 13th: The Game provides an amazing experience similar to the movies provided there are no hackers. There is a single player, but it is limited and can get boring eventually. For online players, the only issues are that there are no dedicated servers and hackers. Unfortunately, Gun Media can't update the game anymore because of a lawsuit issue, but had this lawsuit never occur, this game had potential to become the greatest of its genre.

This game used to be really good, back in 2017/2018. :( I'm kind of surprised at how many positive reviews there are recently, when the experience I had was pretty painful. Took forever to find a game, and it had a cheater. He flew around the map and had a gun with unlimited ammo lmao. Everyone who talked on mic was toxic as hell, and they all sounded like they were under 14.

Genuinely disappointing, since the game had a lot of potential... Can't really recommend unless you have a full lobby of friends to play with, though. ????‍♀️

Friday the 13th is a multiplayer action-horror game in which one person plays Jason Voorhees and seven others play as camp counselors. The objective for Jason is obviously to kill all of the counselors, while the counselors’ goal is to escape in one of a variety of ways.

Before I get into the heart of my review, it’s important to take note of the fact that development on the game was stopped due to a rights dispute over the Friday the 13th franchise. It doesn’t actually involve the game itself, but due to a disagreement between the director and screenwriter of the first movie, the end of the game’s development was collateral damage. This means that there are no dedicated servers anymore and the game is hosted by players. This also put an end to future content updates, so there’s no telling how much better the game could have become. It doesn’t kill the game, but it certainly hurts it.

The gameplay in Friday the 13th is similar to games like Dead by Daylight, but with a singular focus on Jason Voorhees. The game is actually a surprisingly good adaptation of Jason’s powers/abilities in the movies. He is essentially immortal and extremely strong, but also slow and lumbering. In the game, he gets the ability to teleport, mimicking movie scenes in which he seemingly appears out of no where. It’s a nice nod to something from the movies that never really made sense, but they make it work in the game. He also has the ability to sense counselors through walls, allowing him to track them down easier. Finally, he can turn off the in-game soundtrack in order to sneak up on people, similar to some of the jump scares in the movies. If Jason gets close to a counselor, it’s fairly likely that he will kill them or at least significantly hurt them, depending on the character. Typically, a game will end with a handful of counselors escaping and a few dying. It’s a good balance, because it gives both sides something to be happy about, rather than your usual multiplayer game with 1 winner and 1 loser. It makes the game a lot more enjoyable for people who aren’t that good at it because you can usually accomplish something, even if it might be minor.

Playing as a counselor first requires you to pick a character. There are a wide range of available playstyles thanks to the stat system. Some characters are fast with a lot of endurance, but they are bad at repairing things and make a lot of noise. This makes them good at distracting Jason and buying time for other players. Other counselors might be stealthy and good at repairing, making them great for certain escape methods, but struggling when Jason comes after them. There’s a character for every role, and it adds variety to a game that could otherwise become extremely formulaic.

There’s a progression system in the game that slowly unlocks new characters as you play more, but it’s nothing special, just your typical multiplayer game “exp” system. It encourages you to try new things though, so I appreciate what the developers were going for.

The game’s graphics aren’t amazing, but they’re passable, outside of the ugly cutscenes/cinematics that play at the start of each round. The atmosphere is fantastic and does a great job of adapting the Friday the 13th aesthetic. The soundtrack plays a large role in this, alternating between eerie quiet when Jason isn’t around, but quickly becoming an intense horror score once he starts coming after you.

Friday the 13th is certainly a fun game, especially for fans of slasher movies. The main issue is the modest player base and lack of continued development. There are still enough people playing to get into a game relatively quickly, but it never took off as a popular multiplayer game, mostly due to being overshadowed by Dead by Daylight, a game with consistent post-release content and a far larger community.

I’d recommend Friday the 13th if you have a friend or two to play with, but it’s tough to recommend to a solo player, unless you want to primarily play as Jason. The lack of dedicated servers isn’t a huge problem in a vacuum, but it’s a small issue made worse due to the small player base. Still, the gameplay is a lot of fun with friends, especially for fans of horror games.

I received this game as a gift from a friend after being told how amazing this game was. I would pay full price for this if it wasn't given to me. You can voice chat with other counselors and the killer which I love, and I've met some awesome people in the lobbies I have made. Don't trust anyone, but don't take anything to heart. This game is a lot of fun to pass the time playing with friends, and I've met some awesome people in the lobbies of this game.

My experience with this game is a rocky road. I love casually playing this game with friends as counselor and have lots of fun doing so... but then I start a game as Jason and the only enjoyment I have is from the frustrations and fear of life long friends, casual buddies and complete strangers. On sale, this game is really fun, even without friends. It is no longer receiving updates because of legal trouble tho, so I wouldn't get it at full price.

Loved this game to death when it first released. One of the funnest horror and multiplayer experiences; unfortunately the lawsuit killed all its potential. If you're looking to buy this you better have a group of friends with the loss of dedicated servers.

in its hayday, this game was a lot of fun, like, a hell of a lot. It felt like a fresh take on the 1v? concept that had become popular during the games lifespan. Sadly, at the time of posting this most servers are dead, if not really close. However, should you have a full friendgroup to play with, this games a blast, and for that i have to give it a positive review.

this game was great a year or so ago. on my old account i would play it almost every day and i met so many people through the game and its alot of fun. they did take away dedicated servers which sucks but if the host doesnt have potato wifi your fine. still a good game and alot of fun.

This game is good. I love this game as a multiplayer game experience. It was one of the best horror multiplayer games in the world. But i am talking about the time when this game had the dedicated servers. Match making didn't take a long time . but after the dedicated servers were taken down , match making became fairly difficult. U can host ur own lobby or play in other players lobby . But when other players are the host, they can leave the match midway and it will end the game for everyone. Another big issue is, it is pretty difficult to find a full lobby or to find decent amount of people in a lobby for a better experience. Now the bottom line is , don't buy this game unless u are friends with a few players owning it and playing it regularly. If u are friends with a few of those players, u can still enjoy this game. But playing against random is a very painful experience now a days unless u are the host.

It was a great game. I'm happy that I could enjoy playing F13 before fiasco happens. I played F13, PS4, before DBD but unfortunately F13 is dead due to lawsuit. I wish they could put in free game category to bring Jason back to live again. Now this game is not worth a penny when you have no players and servers.

RIP and I will miss you.

This game without a doubt was gonna be better than Dead by Daylight and arguably was when it was at it’s prime. However due to the lawsuit and lack of any new content it could never reach that point. And now with the disconnect of dedicated servers, I can no longer recommend this game to newcomers. All that remains are the niche players that have loved the game from the start and won’t give up on it. Aside from them however, this game has passed. Miss you F13. Gone way too soon.

Right off the bat I want to mention, that unfortunately this game is dying. However, if you can find 7 people to play with and/or convince some of your friends to get the game, I guarantee you, you're in for one of the most fun 1v7 co-op survival games on the market.

it has multiple major bugs that have gone ignored, and is one of the biggest piles of crap on the net. Basically fraud to still have this game up at this point in time since they don't have the rights. Just a money grab based on a character they didn't own the rights to.

All the camp and cheese that you'd expect from this title. If you've got a regular group, this game is amazing fun. I would avoid pick-up groups online - the community is full of toxic players.

The single player challenges are all about playing Jason, there is no way to practice as a councilor other than online play, which is the bulk of the game. Still, I've had a lot of harrowing moments that have felt like I was running through a Friday the 13th film, and escaping alive while Jason is on your tail is incredibly satisfying.

Im suprised i didnt review this when i bought it on 31st october but here is my review of Friday the 13th The Game 3 years later after the release. The game holds up pretty well after all this time and is still incredibly fun to play both with friends and randoms. But as all multiplayer team-based games it suffers greatly from griefers and cheaters. I also rarely see english speaking people and if i see them they usually grief. But still most of the community is friendly and fun and its an amazing game to play!

If you want a weird and quircky horror past time game then this is an option. It can be quite toxic, though, but it has some nice scares! The game may be a big buggy and is most likely never going to be updated again so if you're going to buy, buy at your own risk.

As a long time player of Friday the 13th, let me give you the most honest opinion and realistic approach to this subject of Friday the 13th that can be posssible..

Is it one of the best horror, survival games on the market? Yes.
Is it dying and has no new content being released for it because of lawsuits? Yes.
Would I still recommend playing it regardless of the bugs and no future content? Yes.

Friday the 13th holds a special place in my heart that I hope one day sees the light of day where it can further flourish in some aspect. The gameplay, while being buggy in some ways, is so enjoyable that you'll want to keep playing. You will play till you learn how to use the bugs to your advantage because it is so much fun. The fall-off is where there is no new counselors/Jasons/maps because of the lawsuit that occurred which the original writer for the video game wished it had progressed but because of the legal system, they cannot continue further developement.

If you decide to purchase, know your in for one helluva game that even Dead by Daylight cannot match that it is second to this game.

this game clearly has effort put into it. but it just isnt good. if you want something like this but better, pick up dead by daylight. its better in every way, litteraly. the game is rather rampant with Jason cheaters. the music seems confused, cus it insists that its scary, but its all very silly. just save the money and dont buy this

I've had this game for a while now, and recently started replaying it. To me, this is probably the best possible outcome for a Friday game we could have gotten, and any sequel couldn't really expand upon anything except content. If you have a group of friends, I recommend playing this game. Even if you don't have friends, I still recommend it. Despite the lawsuit and no more content, this game is still extremely fun to play, and maybe when the lawsuit ends, Gun Media, Illfonic, and Horror Inc will take a look at the game and see there are still many players and loyal fans who are playing this game and that there's still money to be made.

Due to licensing issues this game is no longer being updated and with the amount of bugs and glitches it has I can not recommend it in the state that it is in. With that being said I do think the game is fun and the devs did a good job at making the game feel like the movies, if you ever see this game on sale I would recommend getting it.

Friday the 13th is a game about camp murder, something I excel at.

You play as a camp councilor who probably maybe had premarital sex, so you get to die, as per tradition. Or you play as Jason Vorhees or that one guy that wasn't Jason Vorhees and you get to kill camp councilors because they had premarital sex probably. As per tradition.

It is a multiplayer isometric (is it called isometric?) versus game where 8 guys try to not be murdered by one guy who is scary and spooks twitch streamers. There are a variety of camp councilors who have different stats and advantages. For instance, Eric is a huge nerd and is really good at hiding and fixing stuff, while Chad is capable of amassing an army of other Chads to fight Jason like some sort of rich kid army.

Jason also has his variation from the movies, each have their benefits and setbacks, as well as a different weapon to mulch whoever he feels like mulching at the time. But each Jason shares the same set of powers that let them find the councilors, like teleporting and smell-o-vision.
I can smell you.

The objective is to not get mega murdered by Pamela's glue eating son, and you have several ways of going about this. For one, you can call the police and then running to where they set up shop at the edge of the map, you can fix a car and drive away, you can take a boat, you can even hide and wait out the time.
Or you can be a total mega stud and actually kill the big guy, its complicated, but it can be done. Do it, I dare you.
You won't.

Jason just has to kill you, but he has ways of going about this outside of just literally punching your head off. He can set traps, lure or lead you to dead bodies to scare you and slow you down, just chase you, throw daggers, or get mad enough that no barricade can stop his super human strength that can only be acquired by being the kind of person that scratches the center of their butts and then sniffs their fingers.

Its...Fun. But that's really all it is. I wouldn't consider the gameplay of hiding and running or running and murdering enough to consider it deep or intriguing. But its still fun, especially when everyone else is there to have fun.

There is vicinity chat that also applies to Jason, who can talk back to you. I've seen people complain about toxicity, but I don't really know what constitutes as toxicity considering I only ran into one person who wasn't pleasant, but he was a hacker and didn't really talk.

Sometimes people call you names, but I'd call you names too if you're breaking into my home to kill me. Its not mean spirited, at least from what I personally experienced, its just playful banter in a game that no one takes seriously, or no one I've played with takes seriously.

Thursday the 12th gameplay is exciting in its own way. Running away from Jason, teaming up with other campers who aren't dirt munchers, repairing or interacting with something under stress, actually managing to get away from Jason. Or even hiding behind a wall, with Jason literally meters away from you, only for him to go in the other direction and miss you entirely, its a blast.

The game, obviously has issues, mostly because its been abandoned. There's this lawsuit going around between the creator of Next Friday and Fox or Disney or whoever owns the rights. Because of that, the game isn't being updated anymore. There are glitches, and hackers are very obviously hacking, but 9 out of 10 games I haven't really had a problem. There's probably someone out there who can tell you about the balance of the game, but I'm not that guy. Why are you playing this game competitively?
Go play Dead by Daylight or something, be a big boy.

The game is fun, but what you see is what you get. There are several maps and a good number of councilors and Jasons to play as. When I played this first, there were 3000+ people on at any given time, but that number is dwindling fast. As it is, its good for a few hours or games, especially with equally comedic friends.

As I'm writing this review, you can get the game of five Canadian rainbow fun bucks on the Humblebundle store, which is a reasonable price.

Saturday the 14th gets six Jasons out of 10.

Alexander the Great built a land bridge that still exists today.

Jason is coming, and only this curator can save you.

As a fan of the slasher movie I needed this game. Produced by the original reg of the first move & soundtrack of the original componis & a lot of crowdfunding money of the fans. This game gets a 7. It's nice, nostalgic but I hope they'll add more stuff later on some things are missing & the controls are not always re-active. But for the price I payed it it's worth it's money.

It sucks that they're no longer updating the game, but I've sunk sooooo many hours into this game that, in good conscience, I can't give it a negative review. I've met a lot of great Steam friends through the game (rarely, a butthead or two does exist). If you loved the movies, it's worth it just for the awesome easter eggs! I freaked out the first time I played the Camp Crystal Lake map! While gameplay isn't the best, it's fun and with a new Jason/counselors every game, the replayability of it is very high!

Even though there's a lawsuit going on, and there's a bunch of bugs, trolls, and hackers, it is still an amazing game. On paper, it may not have a lot going for it, but you will have the best time playing this game, especially with friends. I didn't have any friends that played this game when I bought it. However, there are a bunch of nice people playing as well, so I made friends with them and my nights are 10x funner because of them.

*IMPORTANT*: Having a mic is essential for the fun factor. Not just because you are more coordinated so you have a higher chance of escape, but sometimes cracking jokes and being a good person opens up new opportunities with other players.

With games like these, just like Dead by Daylight, you have to stick through the difficult newbie part. At first, it seems that Jason/the killer is OP and will always get you, and you may get frustrated dying so often, but then you learn to manage your stamina and focus on the objectives, and the game becomes a bit more balanced.

If the only appealing thing to you about a game is content updates or else it gets boring, I'm sorry, this game is not for you. It's great how it is.
