1. Solide Grafik und Fahrphysik
2. Läuft auch auf alten Rechnern gut
3. Simuliert DRS und KERS
4. Simuliert verschiedene Reifen und Reifenabnutzung
5. Simuliert Schmutz auf der Strecke
6. Simuliert Benzinverbrauch
7. Hat diverse Helfer für das Auto-Handling
Hier in

Graphics
F1 2012 is quite old game, but it still looks nice (I'm talking about high graphics), but even on highest graphics and AA we can still see big pixels, especially on cars' liveries. But if someone isn't very demanding on graphics, it's still possible to enjoy this game's graphics.
Requirements
You can run this game in good FPS on 400$ PC or cheaper. Even my 2012 Dell Latitude E6430 for 170$ was able to run it on lowest graphics in 60-70 FPS, so average Steam user shouldn't worry about possibility of running F1 2012.
Multiplayer
What multiplayer? This game is 10 years old. Lobbys are dead. The only multiplayer you can play there is with your friends. If you don't have friends, have a nice race with bots! Oh yes...
Bots
They are kinda strange, but also very challenging. If you set them on Hard mode, they're almost unable to race with, especially in Quick Game mode. They just drive away from you, even if you drive perfectly. In Career and other modes, you can overtake them, but it takes time and skill of course. And we can move along to...
Other mods
There's Season Challenge, Time Trials, and some challenges given by F1 drivers. In general, they're good and add some variety to this game, but I think that in Time Trials (where we drive for medals), there are too few circuits. Only 7. I think there should be 10 at least. But in general it's interesting mode. Especially because we can fight with other players all over the world.
Bugs
There is a few bugs. And they are visible. For example in Hungary on turn 3, where on grass we just jump to the Moon LOL. Also, the game switches to windowed mode in 4:3(!), when we switch between programs on PC (to get back to fullscreen, press Left Alt + Enter). There's one more problem I've experienced. Sometimes, the game just crashes before the start of the race, when I'm in the garage. Luckily, I can easily get to that race after rebooting a game.
Price
Despite all these bugs and disadvantages, 5$ is good price for this game. Surely you can buy it without sale, because it's a good deal.
Rating
- Graphics: 7/10
- Requirements: 9/10
- Multiplayer: 3/10
- Bots: 6,5/10
- Other mods: 8/10
- Bugs: 7/10
- Price: 9/10
Final score: 7,1/10

Positives: Great game modes such as champions mode, season challenge, and young driver test. I love the KERS system, as it gives a very upside to what F1 was like back then. I also love the start intro to the game, as it shows the first 7 races, showing 7 different winners, and some small recreations.
Negatives: Autospin Kerbs, yes they were in 2010, but its whenever your exiting a slow corner and you've gotten on the kerb, you just spin. Sometimes I can control it, sometimes I can't. Also the ai battles. It is very VERY hard to try and have a proper battle with the ai in modes such as career and quick race modes, btu==ut nothing I can do about it.
I would definitely recommend this to F1 simracers as it is the best experience you could get out of classic F1, I hope this changes peoples negative views on the game.

I have some great memories of the game. The graphics are good enough, the gamplay works just fine, and if you're looking for a cheap alternative to the new F1 titles, this might actually be something you might want to consider.

Pros -
Experience the sound of V8 engines as current F1 games don't have it
Old F1 drivers ( Schumacher, Rosberg, Massa, Alonso, Button, Weber)
Better performance and looks good on low end systems
Old Circuits ( Valencia + South Korea + Indian GP )
Cons-
A lot to learn for newer drivers, even with all the assists on you might spin. Current F1 games are easier to learn.
Old KERS and DRS system is a bit confusing (not really a con)
Occasional stuttering and freezing ( rarely but noticeable )

Feels like edriving on ice, you need a lot of time to get used to the fast turning and how to accelerate without spinning out even with assists on.

INTRO
One of the oldest F1 titles still available on Steam.
THE GOOD AND THE BAD
+ The last edition to feature 12 teams and the Valencia Street Circuit
+ Playable on keyboard *1
+ Smooth performance
+ Straightforward car setup
+ Seems pretty immersive for such an old game
+ The old way of deploying KERS is so much fun
+ Season Challenge mode is a nice and short arcade version of career mode
- AI is just weak and scared
- Penalty system in multiplayer is all over the place *2
- Would like an option for automatic DRS, but that's just me I guess
NOTES
*1 This is very important. I got F1 2015 for free a few years back and there's absolutely no way to set it up for keyboard. You might be asking why would one play a racing game like this on a keyboard. My answer would be that Codemasters make commercial games for the casual audience, and their games should be suitable for all steering inputs. Obviously, a wheel is always going to be the (much) better option, but not all of us are sim racers and in F1 2012, you can play on keyboard without any issues with the right setting. Good.
*2 My first advice would be not making contact with anyone, because the game considers it as an avoidable collision and gives you a 10-second penalty (not always of course, but it's pretty strict). Penalties for corner cutting range from strict to non-existent. Sometimes you get warned for an illegal overtake (position needs to be given back) despite doing absolutely nothing wrong.
OVERALL
I am honestly surprised that the license for this game hasn't expired yet. Grab it while they offer it, it's very cheap and offers a lot of tracks and teams you don't get to see in the newer editions. I finally got it this year after seeing it being so cheap (1.24€ at the time of this writing) and it was a good decision.

- 6 World Champions;
- Last game when Schumacher was introduced (excluding F1 2020);
- V8 era, the sounds were incredible;
- In reality 2012 was also the best year for F1 in recent history;
And now it is 5E, buy it until it is not removed.

F1 2012 has some significant improvements over the previous year's game. The main one in my book being a significantly better experience and control with a controller. 2011 was not bad with a gamepad, but 2012 feels much better, smoother and responsive for the player. The second improvement comes as a great tutorial, which not only introduces the controls of the car, but when and how to use them- particularly KERS and DRS. For the casual player of racing games, this is an excellent introduction worth going over a few times to carefully observe how exactly the car behaves in different situations.
But after making the F1 game more approachable for a newcomer, the 2012 iteration also makes it much more challenging and a bigger time investment than F1 2011. In career mode on Easy, F1 2011 allows a Race to be set at 3 laps or 6 laps- but in F1 2012, the minimum duration in Easy mode is a far longer 15 laps. This means there's no getting your toes wet in F1 2012, you have to jump in at the deep end. Practice and Qualification stages are also difficult, and the player is almost certain to start the first race in Melbourne (and to be sure, in following races) in the bottom half after giving their all in the trials. As for the race itself, I had multiple podium finishes in first 7 or 8 tracks in F1 2011 on Easy, but in 2012's first race I could not break into the top 10 in two tries with different cars. There's also the matter that 4 flashbacks/ rewinds are too few in a 15 lap race, where you are also likely to experience penalties once or twice, your fault or not. This leaves little room for errors and adventurism. Mostly, whatever chance there is of gaining a position is during the first lap, when the AI feels a bit generous but is also eager to penalize.
Finishing lower on the table is not so bad actually, but I am a bit dismayed that it takes a lot of time investment to experience the career mode in F1 2012. It can easily take 45 minutes for practice, qualification, race at each track. With 20-odd tracks this means a 15 to 16 hour journey at the minimum. My personal score for F1 2011 was 8/ 10. For F1 2012, it would be an 8.5 or a 9. It would surely be 9 if the career mode could be set shorter.

REVIEW IN DETAIL
The graphics: They look really good for 2012 standards. Still can give most early PS4 games (2014-2015) a run for their money. The McLaren MP4-27 looks AMAZING at sunny weather.
The handling: Quite possibly the most understeery thing ever (ABS is non-existent here). In 2011 you could take turn 1 at Monaco at 140-150 km/h. Not anymore. Now, you have to slow down to about 110-125 km/h for that corner. The suspension arms have been redone completely too so every car isn't bouncing like mad.
Penalties system: WTF videos have popped up on YT for this. If someone spins off you, it's your fault 99.9% of the time. F*CK.
Presentation/game modes: They have got rid of the paddock/motorhome menus. You are in a wind tunnel where a random car appears. The developers have added the YDT (short for young driver test) where it's a series of helpful tests for newcomers to the sport. It's tedious for experienced players and it only takes around 45 minutes to finish. It's very F1 2001 (PS2) on this regard, forcing you to complete tests to get to play. There is the Season Challenge mode (a shortened career mode, 10 races of 5 laps) but it becomes pointless when you are at Red Bull (choose worse rivals.)
Achievement list: Mostly easy at first, then they get really hard. It's like the Montréal F1 track; easy to learn but hard to master.
CONCLUSION
F1 2012 is a very solid F1 game but the removal of some modes and the YDT are the flaws. F1 2012 will get a lot of new fans into the sport.

Time Attack which basically puts you in a specific car with specified weather on the track e.g You drive with Mercedes at Hockenheimring on Light Rain and you must get a medal. I like it because it challenges your driving.
Season Challenge which can translate to Arcade Mode,it`s very simple, just choose a difficulty, any team at your wish,10 races and just select your rivals and beat them.
Splitscreen: Finally, took them a long time to implement this,
Co-Op: Well,if you have a friend, you can race both in the championship in the same team.
GFWL is non-existent!
Now to the cons which I think at this point everyone knows about it is the penalty system which is bugged on Strict/Realistic setting, meaning if you just touch someone`s car cause you brake too late,5-10 seconds penalty, gone a bit off the track due to a mistake? 5-10 seconds penalty.
Due to this issue I run on Reduced setting, which works perfectly,I touched Alonso in a corner when I brake too late and he spun out but the game didn't gave me a penalty.
Other than this, nothing else to report.
Have fun with this game.
