Sometimes thinking about the number of hours I've sunk into this game makes me question my sanity a little. Do I really enjoy the game that much, or have I developed some kind of self-imposed Stockholm syndrome? Would I honestly recommend this game, or am I just trying to indoctrinate more people into this cult of a fever dream in an attempt to resolve my cognitive dissonance through validation? Will I ever truly be free from my cycles of guilt? These are questions I may never know the answers to.
In all seriousness, I'd recommend giving E.Y.E: Divine Cybermancy a try. I can't guarantee you'll enjoy it, but either way it'll definitely be an experience. (Bonus points if you try it with a friend.)

awesome world but really buggy and braindead level design at points. the gunplay can be really fun but stealth is non-functional. if this game were made on a higher budget in a different game engine i feel like it would've been amazing, still worth playing even with all the bugs and kinks though.

This is the best video game ever made. The gameplay and atmosphere are amazing, i only wish the team wasnt so pressed for time when it came to writing the story and such, it would also help if this game wasnt so damn cryptic for newcomer people.

This game very much reminds me of the first deus ex and I dont like it for the same reasons.

This is a game that probably would have been amazing 20 years ago but now its just so janky. There is no level of polish here to speak of and it really grinds on you from the moment you boot the game. If you love the first deus ex, go ahead and give this a shot as youll be pretty welcomed. Everyone else, give this a pass.

First hours: Confused by mechanics, story & broken stuff, parcially thrown away due to enormous difficulty curve
Some hours later..
Above 48 hours: Loadsabrouzouf, legs OK & Cyber Legs max, PSI spam, hacking Interceptors (choppers), Kitchen gunning stuff (BK 444), Fatal Injuries erradicated, True Ending reached, played Coop & checked more maps.

Absolutely hostile, big, incomprensible & insane at the start, but you already have most of the tools in the beginning, you just don't know it yet, and even more when pushing foward

Janky & competent at the same time.

This game forced me to learn Source modding.

The game is kinda fun, the main story is short but has a lot of replayability due to the various ways that you can finish levels and use different playstyles.
It is a little bit janky at times though, especially if you want to do multiplayer.

And for you completionists and achievements hunters out there, do know that a fair chunk of the achievements are random and the only way to get them is to grind, grind and grind kills.
The tediousness of this made me check out Source modding and I modded the popular Sermons map to only spawn a certain type of enemy to grind it out faster.

I have no idea where to start with this game, very noticeably flawed, but the cool weird ass story, extremely fun gameplay loop and coop make up for it easily.

Memable as hell too.

If youre one of those 1000hrs into one game nerves of steel source players, you should enjoy this game for at least a hundred hours. Watch a tutorial or read a steam guide first, trust me.

What is E.Y.E Divine Cybermancy?

Cybermancy is well known for its esoteric and philosophical story buried under its formulaic and short campaign. However, it lacks the complexity to truly be called a true RPG and Immersive Sim. You can accomplish many objectives from several different angles and playstyles, while others force you into a set path, and while it’s true you may have several dialogue options when conversing with NPCs, their replies will rarely change depending on what you chose. And, despite the ways you can approach the objectives, the way you resolve an objective will never be brought up again outside that mission.

Make no mistakes, E.Y.E may tout the RPG and Immersive Sim tags by the slimmest lines, but it is first and foremost a tightly controlled action/FPS game.

The Good & The Great.

The highs of E.Y.E are some of the greatest you will ever experience in gaming. You may indeed start off as a slow weakling, but you’ll gradually transform into a combat monster who leaps entire chasms, sprints through entire maps in under a minute, and can teleport into somebody to explode them from the inside out before hacking their partner apart with a katana that explodes on contact.

As one might expect of a game based off an iteration of the Source engine, the gunplay of Cybermancy is fast-paced, tight, and fluid. There was never a true moment where I was left feeling truly dissatisfied across my entire playtime of E.Y.E. It’s no wonder, between the heights you can achieve combined with your powers, and the solid performance of every weapon that this is commonly lauded as the one best aspects of E.Y.E.

The setting itself had me captured and enthralled from the first moment I saw Temple HQ with my own eyes. You can truly see the inspiration they took from franchises such as Blade runner, Warhammer 40k, and Ghost in the Shell. Although the team who developed E.Y.E were inexperienced at the time, and lacking in pretty much every resource imaginable, their original vision still oozes through everything even years later.

There’s also the story. I didn’t find it to be as amazing as some people hype it up to be, but I did find it pretty intriguing in its own right. If you’re reading this review and have any prior knowledge of the story and true ending, you’ll understand why I’m not going any further in-depth than that because it would both make this review like 7 paragraphs longer and it’s frankly one of those things that’s better to decipher for yourself.

The Bad & The Jank.

There are things you should be aware of before purchasing the game, most of all is the notorious enemy spawning system. Cybermancy’s enemy spawning works of a short, almost nonexistent in some cases, timer and the player’s line of sight. This can lead to instances of the player being easily overwhelmed by, say, a veritable clown car of Federal Cops who suddenly decided to spawn right behind the player who turned his back for a nano-second. Obviously, this system can lead to several deaths and no small amount of frustration for an unprepared player, especially one who is lower level and does not want to take the speed malus for walking around in heavy armor yet.

And… that’s really it from me. Now, I know some people have had some issues with bugs. But the game itself runs completely fine on modern hardware, and I never really experienced a bug aside from the time the Jian in the library had his staff disappear. So I can’t really talk about something I didn’t experience.

The immense size of pretty much every level can also be a downside, particularly when it takes longer to regenerate energy and you sprint slower at lower levels. But I enjoyed their artistic vision and the sheer scale it helped to give everything that it never really bothered me. I also get the sense that the makers knew the levels would feel too short once you’re at the late-game tier of things where you’re speeding by like a race car.

The Summary.

Is E.Y.E a game for everybody? No, absolutely not. Did I personally find it fun as hell and one of the best power fantasies I’ve ever played? Yes. Do I regret my purchase? Not a chance in Hell, I got my money’s worth and more.

In terms of how I would recommend E.Y.E, it’s a lot like Morrowind in that regard. You need to have a certain approach to video games, patience, a tolerance for jank, and a little knowledge of what you’re getting yourself into before you dive in. But if you can do all that, you’ll find an absolutely amazing blast of a game.

I hated this game to a phenomenal degree but why I still played it for almost 100 hours is currently an active field of research and studies are underway to further investigate it. There is a palpitating urge inside to click the not-recommend button, but somehow my left hand is not letting me control the mouse with my right hand forcing me to recommend it. Please , don't buy this game .

Right under the mess this game is loaded with is a really fun FPS, but it takes such an extremely long time to actually get to the actual enjoyable parts about it—almost a whole playthrough's worth or more—that it's very easy to just stop playing the game before even finishing it.

The tutorials the game try to show you are terrible. They'll show you videos of how to do certain functions, but don't actually teach you much, so it's up to you to figure out the game's mechanics on your own. It really doesn't help much that the game is full of little RPG stat details you're expected to learn as well on top of the game's many functions.

The story of the game is extremely surreal and interesting, however due to that surrealism combined with the poor English translation, it can be very hard to follow along as well to the point you'll probably have to read up on other people's analysis of the story to get it, even though the actual game's story isn't very long. Its story is so odd that when important NPC's die seemingly by accident and then come back in the next chapter as if nothing happened, I couldn't tell if they were just developer oversights—since the game's so full of jank—or if it was part of the game's bizarre theme.

The maps can be pretty atmospheric, but are way too huge in this game, so running around objective to objective can be a big chore as a result with nothing in between. If you try to run around and explore these big maps on your own, you're most likely going to be punished by finding absolutely nothing in the end—not even something pretty to look at.

Enemies in this game can be a real pain.
They respawn in waves at specific locations when the camera isn't turned toward said locations. You can turn down the spawn rate and even the difficulty itself at any time to at least mitigate this somewhat. The AI in this game are just Source engine multiplayer bots and whatever else Half-Life 2 may have regarding AI, so there won't be anything clever about them, making the AI both easily exploitable and very tough to deal with.
In the first real level of the game, the frustration can start right away as enemies can spot you from way too far a distance seemingly endlessly on the default setting, and this kind of thing only gets worse as you keep progressing where the type of enemies get stronger.

If you can somehow look past the broken mess this game throws at you as well as learning first-hand how to deal with the general jank & difficulty, you MIGHT finally start enjoying the ridiculousness of its actual gameplay.
It tries to be an RPG that encourages various character builds, but the game is awful to play on a new character as you're just too slow and too underpowered at the start, so it's easier to just keep working on the one character.
When you manage to rack up plenty of skill points to put into stats and get enough money for more weapon & skill options, the game can get extremely fun. The FPS aspect of the game was already nice at the start with weapons feeling like they've got some serious kick to them, but combined with the arsenal of silly and practical skills you acquire later, you start enjoying the exploitable aspects, like being an immortal minigun-spraying tank constantly eating enemies' guns & ammo to replenish health and hurting yourself to replenish your energy so you can keep your shield skill lasting longer to be tanking everything, or being able to jump so high you don't even bother with the slow ladder-climbing most of the time anymore—you can even crush enemies by jumping on them. By that point, you'll actually want to turn up the difficulty and spawn rate for the game to be more fair. Your character's also a lot faster and conserves more energy when sprinting, so the big maps aren't much of an issue either combined with you already being familiar with said big maps—even better if you get the teleporting skill that lets you instantly teleport inside enemies and killing them, essentially telefragging them, no matter the distance so long as they're visible and you're aimed at them.

It's a very hard game to get into, especially since it takes so much effort & time to get to the parts that makes the game so fun.

E.Y.E is a very flawed game. I barely understand the story, the combat can occasionally be clunky, and the tutorials for the game are locked behind long videos that put a halt on gameplay. I don't think I could recommend this game if it wasn't for Co-Op. Without having to port forward or anything too obtrusive, this game can be played online with friends. I think that this game is a perfect multiplayer experience, as the game's cyberpunk/futuristic setting acts as a perfect sandbox. Get this game on sale, and convince a few friends to get it too. I promise you will get a solid amount of hours out of it.

E.Y.E is a... weird one to say the least. It blends RPG and FPS mechanics in such a weird but oddly compelling way with an equally weird and oddly compelling story. The gun play feels good, the movement feels good and after a few new game+ playthroughs you become basically an unstoppable god. But damn does this game bust ya nuts on the higher difficulties.

Fair warning however, The game is difficult to get into. It's complicated, difficult and the gigantic levels are just pains in the asses. But otherwise I recommend it, Especially since it supports CO-OP so you can experience the
cycles of guilt
together!

Way ahead of its time.

Includes a lot of the best elements of similar titles like System Shock, Deux Ex, etc but the story puts this game in its own league. You have a 'wtf is going on?' feeling throughout the entire game, with the plot unfolding gradually and could warrant a second play through.

It does feel unfinished, but in a way that made me want more. Unfortunately, no more E.Y.E games were made but Streum on Studio is putting out some excellent Warhammer 40K games, so I'm holding out hope we'll see a sequel or remake.

This game is well worth the brouzoufs if you enjoy FPS games with weapon and class/skill upgrades with a mystery for a main plot.

This game is so strange lol. Once you understand what's going on a bit more with how all of the odd systems work and get further into progressing your character the true enjoyment happens.

Co-op makes it all a lot better, too. Also make sure your game is saving properly. My anti-virus was preventing my game from saving to my My Documents folder so only my character was saving but not my game story progress. I had to make an exception in the rules so that folder would be accessible. This doesn't happen with any other game (many save to that location) but it's something I thought I should mention.

Some where in Frenchie land[1] a handful of white flags and probably a Russian or two thought it would be funny to use the Source Engine to make a role-playing game. There's a lot of moving parts and I have no idea what the fuck I'm doing. You gain Brouzouf. The dialogue is both incredibly aggressive and friendly, the translation is questionable and the gameplay is like any other obscure source mod.

EYE is a bizarre action RPG that is awful yet great at the same time. Most of the game’s mechanics feel out of place or cobbled together, and the story is almost incomprehensible. This sounds like a terrible game, and it is. But these horrible aspects are countered by moments of complete originality.

Surreal Storytelling

The most obvious example of originality in EYE is noticeable immediately after starting the game. You begin by creating your character, then being thrown into an unusual hellscape where someone named “Mentor” lies dead/dying. You then walk through a portal, beginning the tutorial. After completing it, you are sent to the main hub of EYE, where you will get all of your missions assigned. Upon arrival, you can speak to Mentor, who is seemingly fine. This type of contradictory storytelling is ever-present in EYE. Characters will die, reappear, and sometimes comment on their death, while other times acting like nothing is wrong. It gives the sense that the entire game is an unreliable narrator, which I enjoyed, even though it gets taken too far and becomes a mess by the end of the game. The shining moments of EYE’s writing are in the side missions. These take the form of scattered objectives that you come across while you play through the main story. You might encounter a drug dealer that needs you to pick up a shipment for him, a man who wants to avenge his brother’s death, or maybe a suicidal man struggling with depression. None of these impact the story or even affect the game at all, but they are fun side plots where you can see that the game’s writers are completely capable of writing coherently, they just chose not to for the main storyline. It almost divides the game into 2 different story types; a group of relatively coherent and straightforward side quests, and a number of cryptic, unexplained main quests. It’s bizarre, but that goes for almost everything in EYE.

Baffling Progression

EYE’s progression system is a bit different from your typical action RPG, but still follows the same basic structure. You gain experience and brouzouf (money), then spend both of them on upgrading your stats, cybernetics, research, or gear. The twist comes from the fact that EYE is an extremely short game for an RPG. If you know what you are doing, you can beat the game in one sitting. Your first playthrough will be your longest, mostly because of your character’s slow initial movement. The most important thing in EYE is speed. Being slow drags the game out when it’s meant to be played fast and loose. The weight system makes it even tougher to get your character up to a reasonable speed, but once you get there, the game world opens up. This goes for every aspect of EYE’s progression. Sure, you begin the game with some basic abilities, but they aren’t particularly interesting compared to some of the extremely powerful late game skills. No matter what type of character you try to build, there is always a path to becoming an overpowered god. However, for better or worse, this takes a long time. When people talk about “late game” in EYE, they mean after beating the game 5+ times, maybe even more. This is perfect for people that enjoy gradual power curves in their RPGs, but it can be frustrating for anyone that wants to get right into the action. Due to the repetitive nature of EYE, it tends to feel more like a random series of missions you play in order to level up and make money, rather than a traditional RPG with a beginning, middle, and end.

Engaging Gameplay

While traversing the world in EYE is a chore for much of the game, the combat is a different story. The weapons might look basic, but most of them are enjoyable to use and fit into different playstyles well. The starting submachine gun in EYE has a fire mode toggle, but instead of the real world version that would switch between semiautomatic fire and fully automatic fire, it switches from full auto to fuller auto. The developers clearly focused on fun weapon designs over realistic ones. You can use a minigun, an armor piercing sniper rifle, even a katana; and these are just the weapons unlocked at the start of the game. As your character gets progressively stronger, the possibilities for combat open up. EYE’s combat system begins as a fairly basic yet satisfying first-person shooter, but once you get past the first 10-20 levels, it becomes more akin to an immersive sim. While you never get the story depth that a game like Deus Ex has, you have access to a huge range of combat options. The game’s focus is still squarely on combat, but it plays like a sandbox shooter rather than a linear FPS.

Distinctive Art Design

The overall style of EYE’s visuals is unique for a cyberpunk game. While it retains many of the genre’s tropes, it also blends in plenty of unconventional aspects. Your character’s faction is reminiscent of Warhammer 40k, utilizing oversized armor pieces, powerful firearms, but with plenty of religious imagery. The main base for this faction resembles an otherworldly cathedral rather than a futuristic headquarters. In contrast, the other main faction in EYE has a decidedly East Asian aesthetic, complete with conical hats and buildings modeled after ancient Chinese architecture, specifically temples. It works well as a faction design because it stands out from your character’s own, but also shows a common ground when it comes to both groups clearly being religious in nature. Disappointingly, this attention to detail falls apart for nearly every other faction or group in the game. Many of the monster enemies are clearly pulled from other games and don’t fit into the world of EYE at all. The human enemies look better, but they have bland designs compared to the two main factions. Level design is also hit or miss, ranging from boring, wide open areas, to cramped cities that fit perfectly into EYE, both aesthetically and gameplay-wise.

Exceptional Sound Design

In EYE, the sound design does most of the heavy lifting when it comes to creating a consistent atmosphere. The soundtrack is nothing spectacular, but it does its job. Most songs are mood tracks that blend in and don’t draw attention to themselves. There is a good amount of music so it doesn’t become repetitive, even after playing for a while. On the other hand, sound effects have a massive quality disparity between different sounds. Weapon sounds are usually terrific and wouldn’t be out of place in a AAA game. In contrast, the ear-splitting sound a small jump makes is so terrible that it seems like a placeholder. The star of the sound design is easily the voice acting. There is no English voice acting, instead, the game uses a fictional language created for the game. Most dialogue isn’t voiced, but when it is, it sounds fantastic. Some voice actors ham it up, while others play it seriously, but it works because it sounds like a real language that you can’t understand, rather than random sounds thrown together. It’s an impressive effort from such a small indie studio, even though their time would have been better spent on polishing up the core game, as opposed to working on this ultimately minor feature.

Verdict

EYE is rough around the edges and desperately needed more development time and a larger budget. It’s a game with AAA ambitions on a shoestring budget. The story is a mess, countless game mechanics are obtuse and barely explained, and the graphics are mediocre at best; yet it’s still fun to play. Despite its flaws, getting a few friends together and fighting through hordes of enemies is a blast, especially once your character gets stronger. EYE isn’t a must play game and it certainly isn’t for everyone, but if you don’t mind slow starts and an unrefined experience, it’s a solid co-op game.

6/10

This game. How the hell to explain this game?

Don't expect a polished game here. It's incredibly janky. It was made by devs who's previous projects were just mods. They got an investor for this and ended up with a deadline that they couldn't meet. It feels unfinished (because it is). Understanding the game and all it's systems is like trying to punch your way through a wall with your bare hands. And the game offers little help in that regard.

So why is a game like this so positively reviewed? Because it's insane.
The story is insane. The game mechanics are insane. The number of different ways you can kill guys is insane. The levels are insane in size. The combat is solid and satisfying but it gets so much better as you unlock and figure out ever crazier things you can do. For instance you get a jump ability pretty early on. At first it'll barely clear obstacles higher than your knees. By late game it'll take you into the stratosphere. The whole game is insane and that's what makes it great.

Look, I normally don't write reviews, so I'll try and keep this pretty simple and to the point.

TL;DR, E.Y.E is a very interesting and fun to play game with a few minor hiccups here and there (it's a Source game), but overall has more good flags than bad. Plus, enough replayability to keep you entertained for hours on end.

Now, onto the gameplay. I won't be getting into the fine details, but overall it is really satisfying. It works well, it plays well. Combat is punishingly difficult (for me atleast), but not to the point where I feel like giving up. The use of Psi powers (essentially magic) can mix things up. Inventory management is strictly for loadouts, and the more you carry the slower you are. Hacking is a pain in the ass, and it's not all too useful in combat, but it's there. As I said, replayability lies in playing side missions with objectives that change each time you play them (from a specific list of possible objectives). There are a good few ways, albeit just a *tad* complicated, to improve yourself... though, most of the weapons seem weaker or more useless when compared to others.

Story. When I play a game with a story or campaign, I need something entertaining. Gripping. Worthwhile. While confusing, the story does have me interested. I have NOT beaten the game yet, but it's still quite interesting to play through. The characters are admittedly forgetful for the most part, but surprisingly I don't seem to mind. It's less about the characters in this one.

I give the game a solid 8/10. I love it, I enjoy it, I'd say give it a try. It has multiplayer, but I haven't fussed with it, so I won't be reviewing that part. Hope this helps out!

I don't usually write reviews, but this game deserves it. It is a fantastic underrated FPS/RPG hybrid.

Let me just start by getting this out of the way: This game is a mess. A confusing, wild and hot glued mess that ends up being loads of fun when you grasp some of it's obscure mechanics, vaguely presented gameplay systems, unclear tutorials, trippy story and setting and get over the fact it's an unconventional and sometimes buggy game.

But if you value experimentation, player agency, emergent gameplay, plenty of freedom to build a character to fit different ways to play in a semi immersive-sim style of game, then this is more than worth your time! Bonus points for having coop so you can enjoy this underrated gem with your buddies! For the price this game goes on sale you'd be missing out by not giving it a try.

I'd buy that for a dollar!

Game isn't terrible but alas has a number of issues. The main problem is broken save system that forces you to redo previous mission if you quit the game. Game is a bit hard at first and instead of tutorial explaining how certain aspects of the game work, there is tutorial menu that has around twenty short videos with vague titles that are supposed to help you understand the game(even tutorial video how to use tutorial section). The atmosphere is quite good but story and plot is lacking, in fact it doesn't really go anywhere and almost entire lore is pointless, like creators forgot that they added it in the first place. The game also lacks real ending, after defeating final boss it just sort of ends after which it starts from the beginning.

Many bad design decisions that could be ignored, but the awful save system where you return from a mission to the hub and your progress is lost when you quit making you lose 2 hours of progress is the icing on the cake for me.

E.Y.E: Divine Cybermancy

How can I start describing this game?

EYE is a first person shooter, with rpg elements, and gameplay systems that sort off fits in the immersive sim genre. Developed by Streum-on Studios, released for PC in July 2011, running on the good old Source Engine.
It is based on a homebrew tabletop RPG the dev team used to play that was in turn based off WarHammer 40K grimm dark style, despitei ts inspirations and surface level similarities, they are doing their own thing here. In the universe of the game, EYE is an armed branch of the Secreta Secretorum, an secret society that is plotting to coup the Federal Government, you will take the role of a nameless Agent, in the service of Commander Rimanah and your Mentor, both with conflicting ideas, goals and agenda. And its up to you to decide who you will listen to.

In terms of gameplay, you have multiple play styles and weapons, ranging from basic melee all the way to psichic attacks. Killing enemies and doing objectives nets you XP that you can spend on skill points to improve your character, and money, Brouzouf, to spend on new weapons, tech research, psichic technics and cybernetic implants.
I could just write paragraphs upon paragraphs detailing each and every gameplay system, or its story and simbolisms but its an experience that I and many people haven't been able to put into words. The universe and story of EYE is super interesting and filled with deep simbolism. Things are not what they seem on the surface. You will only see the big picture with multiple playthroughs.

I don't recommend EYE for the uninitiated to these rather obscure games, it not a perfect game, not for everyone, but it is an unique trip.

Score: 7/10 // Good [★★★★★★★✰✰✰]

This is an extremely good and fun game. If you are here from mandalore's vid don't expect warhammer vibes. Personally the closest thing that made me think warhammer is the servo skull looking things. scrab something. The game runs very well and the controls are nice and nearly all the weapons just feel cool. except for maybe the silenced smg which is good for stealth but takes up half my dang screen. I would make suggestions but this game is so old I doubt it will get updates. The weapons should feel more impactful. I don't know about you but when I hit someone deadcenter in the chest with a .444 round from a handcannon called a bearkiller I expect them to slam into the wall at mach 1 and not just fall backwards. That and getting targeted by the miniguns in this game might as well put your fucking eyes out cause good luck seeing anything. Thats what made me despise the gunships. maybe that can be fixed with mods but this as far as I can tell had a very small modding community. BUT that all put aside and being fairly easy to deal with using the right tools this game has a learning curve but a good one and it is a damn fine game and well worth the 10 us dollars it asks for.

Don't really know how to explain it other than this is the 40k game that we never got from GW. How much you enjoy the setting will determine how much you enjoy the game. Everything else is more or less secondary to enjoyment of the lore. If you're going in expecting something different, you'll probably be disappointed.

Is it perfect? Not even close. Is it polished and bug-free? Nope. Is it clunky and awkward? Yep. Do I still recommend it? Absolutely.

The story?
Oh let's better not get into that. A pretty confusing one which supposedly gets solved after completing the game 3 times, each time choosing a different route... i think it's still mysterious, maybe i'm missing something.

The gameplay?
Pretty dynamic: Become a heavy titanium skeletal Terminator with gatling gun, a fast and stealthy cyberninja, master hacker, guns akimbo infanterist, rifle trooper, turret and drone operator, sniper, mini-nuker etc etc...

All in all a unique experience (Deus ex offering similar gameplay, vastly different story) which could use a touch-up to get more refined.

I found EYE Divine Cybermancy to be intriguingly addictive. During your first playthrough you'll get a few clues as to what is really going on, making you want to play again. Combat is a blast and makes you want to level up more, unlock more powers and fight some more. Overall Fantastic game and would recommend to people looking to play something a bit different and who are interested in Dark souls-esk storytelling.

Where am I? This weird review section again, deja vu.

I had a lot of trouble getting into this game at first. I'd start a game, get really bored and confused a couple levels in, then wander off. It just didn't seem to offer much by way of depth, not like a AAA game could bring. Recently, though, something clicked. And then I got it.

Not the story, though. NOBODY really gets the story. It's a convoluted, poorly translated, confusing mess. A charming and fascinating mess, but a mess nonetheless. As best as I can understand, you're a cyberpunk samurai working for a faction that hates the other half of itself. You take orders from your mentor and the commander. There's a race of aliens formed from the collective subconscious of humanity, taking the form of our darkest fears and Lady Gaga. Eventually, you must choose between your mentor and your commander (or even say SCREW IT and betray them both). Either way, you kill your mentor (but you're not his murderer).
Then it turns out that neither your commander or your mentor exist, but maybe you're the commander all along trapped in a time loop brought on from your own guilt, or maybe NONE of it exists and its all just a simulation or a videogame.
My brain hurts trying to explain it.

No, what people get is the sheer level of detail in the mechanics of the game. Take hacking, for example. Most RPGs I've played just use hacking as a way to get bonus goodies or information. But in EYE, hacking can be used to do so much more. The exact moment I realized how special this game really is would have to be when I realized I had the option to hack some bandits. In quick succession, I possessed one and made him shoot his buddy while he screamed in panic, another I brainwashed to become my friend, and another I poofed from existence. Then I hacked a bunch of ATMs and gained brouzouf, I hacked a floaty robot to get it to stop shooting at me, I hacked a computer to shut down everything hostile, and oh my gosh how are all the options available just from one mechanic? Started looking into what all else was available. You can make a clone of yourself to distract guards, then cloak yourself and strike them from behind with an exploding katana. You can lay down a line of turrets. You can cause a monster to explode forth from the corpse of a bandit. You can cause YOURSELF to explode forth from the corpse of a bandit. You can sneak out, shoot out, hack out, or stab out of essentially any situation you find yourself in. You can further augment your existing abilities to make yourself a nigh-unstoppable furious cyborg. And that's not getting into everything that can happen TO YOU. I got hacked by a door. I got slapped by aliens one too many times and turned into a gibbering mess. My head exploded from trying to use psychic powers too much. My legs snapped. My mind snapped. Anything that could go wrong did, to hilarious results.

What seemed like a simple indie RPG to me at first quickly revealed itself to be insanely detailed with a vast amount of ways to approach situations and combine abilities, and basically it seemed like anything I could think of was already programmed into the game simply because the devs were so nuts that they anticipated I would want to do it.

I feel like my words cannot accurately describe the sheer charming insanity that is this game. But I cannot recommend it enough if you're looking for an in-depth fpsrpg cyberpunk experience. You'll gain brouzouf.
And this may be taking too far, but for me...Cyberpunk 2077 is going to have some big shoes to fill after this.
6/10 Do you want to be a hyper active killing machine? this is fps is your game. terrible translation. nearly impossible to follow storyline. Who cares!? go kill without regard if they are on your team or not. They are just taking your exp and $ anyways!

On a serious note if the game play was not so fun in the pure speed of the action the hacking, story line, and bad translation would easily tank this game. I have not tried it yet but the multiplayer seems to be Co-Op and nothing is more fun than running and gunning with friends.

Odd, interesting and hardly polished. The game focuses only on its strong suits. It feels like a deus ex meets half life deal but has its own interesting tone and gameplay to set itself apart from any game I've ever played. Though it may not be the most polished or friendly game you'll ever play, i do believe its worth exploring if its anywhere on your radar.

Poor me back in 2011 (before i actually buy this, i was poor) where i can only manage to keep a 7 year old Pentium 4 running thinks this is one of the cool new game that would work in my old PC back then.

But when i can play this game properly i can say that this is the epitome of jank.
But in a good way though.
Settings are unique for the time, back when Warframe isn't out yet.
Combat is bog-standard Call of Duty esque combat, but with more jank and cool dismemberment effects. Also warning reload will waste clip, though not a real problem as you'll swimming with clips anyway.
More to come, but explaining further will lead to spoilers.

For all its bugs, strange design choices, near non-existent balance and sometimes poor translations — E.Y.E: Divine Cybermancy is still a great and enjoyable game. Above all, it is an experience. Once you get to the bottom of it all and begin to understand the story, the real meaning of everything presented to you, there is a genuine poetic and melancholic beauty in what the game tries to present to you in phantasmal fragments. Much like the minimalist storytelling of the Dark Souls series, E.Y.E. requires you to connect the dots and, eventually, come to your own conclusions as to how the story really ends and what this means.

E.Y.E is a very, very special game.

It begs the question of what you value in a game. If you value polish, coherence, or depth greatly I would not recommend E.Y,E. But if you can ignore all these things for the sake of fun, uniqueness, humor and insanity E.Y.E is a great game.

With ridiculous weapons, 32 player coop, and an off the wall style, the game has been endlessly entertaining. The dialog is ridiculous, the movement and gunplay are joyous and precise, and the feel of the game is something that hasnt been replicated or felt outside of both the game and its era.

Really good game, IF you can get past some of its problems.
To make your time with this game better, here´s a few tips:
1. Use leg upgrades
2. Get the medkit. (RMB to heal yourself)
3. Use heavier armor (makes dying a lot slower)
4. Try to get the Bear Killer as fast as possible (really good sidearm against armor), until then, the BK also pierces armor
5. Don´t be afraid to look things up
