In EHM: EA übernimmt man die Kontrolle über den kompletten Kader. Wer soll verpflichtet werden, wer muss gehen und wer landet im Draft? Selbst das Trainerteam lässt sich individuell zusammenstellen. Und wenn dann das Gerüst des Vereins steht, kann sich der Spieler entscheiden, ob er selbst die Aufgaben des Trainers übernimmt oder diese Position vom Computer besetzt – in diesem Fall steht der Fokus dann ganz auf dem Management und die Spiele werden in der gewohnten und ausgesprochen übersichtlichen 2D-Vogelperspektive gezeigt.

Der Eastside Hockey Manager ist nach einigen Jahren der Abwesenheit wieder da! Schon vor einigen Jahren produzierte Sports Interactive das ursprünglich als Freeware konzipierte Spiel rund ums Eishockey. Nun, 2015, ist der Manager wieder da und im Early Access auf Steam zu haben. Sportsimulationsfreunde und Eishockey-Freaks sollten mal einen Blick drauf werfen.

Between this account and a few others I've had since 2008(ish) I have logged almost 7000 hours into EHM. It is easily a top 3 game all-time for me. I have tried FHM and it just doesn't compare.

although its not fully licenced, I would still reccomend it as its fun to play VERY addictive and if you download mods you can fully licence it yourself, personally from the amount of time ive played Id fully reccomend you to give it a go as it might just be the game youve been waiting for!

Even though I have only played 10 hours of this game, it has been a blast. Very in-depth gameplay. However, I would like to recommend the addition of fights and video review, as I believe this would improve immersion immensely. Otherwise solid side-playing game.

A very in-depth Hockey Manager game. Download up-to date rosters or make your own, spend hours scouting players to find that diamond in the rough! Go even deeper by joining an online league and negotiate with real people for trades. Really amazing if you have the time to commit.

This is no EA Franchise mode and thats a good thing!

Very good game. Roster stuff from the Blue Line on Steam Community is so good. Game on 1.5 is a bit slow, and you'll have to save like every day, but overall good Hockey simulation game.

This game is honestly the perfect game to have on in the background or play while you are trying to multitask as it requires very little actual attention. Despite how simple the gameplay is it still manages to make exciting moments happen at during the simulation. The attention to detail is also hands down the best of any hockey game by a country mile when it comes to stats, records and players it can't be beat.

If you love FM series, buy this. If you love Hockey, buy this. If you love life, stay away from this. Just check the number of hours I have wasted on this game. Cannot get enough of it. Barrage Shooting and Fast game is the way to go!

I have played this game for years. However, it is garbage that EHM 2007 was a much better game - the Dev tried to get fancy and make new-gens and they didn't work! So now, we have people making prospect generators that basically break the entire draft and you have to separate the guys or risk taking players at #1 who will never grow.

Hey, no one is upset that a new game was made. However, fix the problems, or revert the prospect gen system back to re-gens, which worked and made EHM2007 a much more polished game.

The game is fun at it's core, but I really wouldn't get involved too deep in whats going on outside of the actual game.

I have played a lot of this game and have been pretty active in the community, which is basically a castle made of lies which is awesome. We've been lied to about an update for this game for pretty much over a year now. We have someone who is pretty much blacklisted from all of online for being a generally shady character and cheating building the main gen for the community rosters which has killed multiple online leagues who refuses to admit it's actually not working.. And it's funny the whole reason we need Gens now is because they've cooked the databases so hard the game doesn't even know how to keep up. The 'hardcoded' players will never ever look like what the players the game creates because the game wasn't meant to have Defensive players with 20 wrist shots who can put up 100 points. The game generates prospects fine but we've literally killed our own game.

Back to the lied to about an update, I don't care one bit about this game getting updated or not but it's the fact that we have been told that there is an update in the works and then POOF gone. Nothing. Zero. And it's hilarious because this entire community has been kept alive by us, not the dev, nobody gets to talk with him except for the cheater mentioned earlier and the few good people in the community like ECK. Even more hilarious is 30 people are getting access to this update we've been lied to for over a year about.. and guess who gets to run it! LMAO the scummy cheater mentioned earlier who strangely disappears when ever he gets called out only to reappear months later with some bullshit. Has killed countless leagues that have run with zero support from the dev because his gen does not work. Leagues that have literally years of history in this community and he is the one they listen too.

I understand it's a one person project but there is zero transparency and you are literally working hand in hand with the people who have killed this game, the only thing keeping this alive was the community and now the community is just destroying itself. I feel really bad for anyone who has actually put time and effort into the community because you will never have anything to show for it, you will never be recognized by the dev, you wont get an honest response when you ask why your single player save prospects wont grow and look like connor mcdavid at 13.

Good game but I think it's no longer supported by the dev. I would love to suggest changes/additions to the game but no one is listening.
Also, prospects are never good enough to be in the NHL at ages 18-20, and it gets worse as time goes by - I haven't gone 40+ years into a playthrough but I would be willing to bet that the average player in the NHL would be significantly less skilled than the start date's average player.

This game makes the EA NHL series Be a Gm mode an obsolete artifact. I recommend to anyone who loves hockey and anyone who likes sports management games.

Every element of this game is greatly expanded from the EA NHL GM Mode.

You can expect improvements in:

Scouting - Hire up to 12(?) scouts and assign them to leagues, regions, countries or teams. Scout amateur players for the draft, pros for trade, or even AHL players with hidden potential.

Coaching - You can design a gameplan for your team down to the most minute detail. Different sliders for lines and d pairings. Or you can let the coach take over.

Staff - You can also hire assistant coaches and head coaches with various skills as well as physio, assistant gms, and as mentioned above full teams of scouts.

Trading - Trading is much more balanced than the NHL games. You can't really 'cheese' the draft system although you can definitely stockpile picks and make good trades thanks to good scouting. I found it relatively easy to build a dynasty in the game and that's a good thing IMO. IT's not as easy as it is in EA but that's also a very good thing imo. It's entirely possible to build a team with the best intentions, miss the playoffs repeatedly, miss your window, and be forced the rebuild.

Development - Amazing development in this game. Your players development is dependent on a few things. How good is your coaching staff? How do they perform during the season? And also what practice routine do you set for them? Practice is a very fleshed out gameplay element that allows you to customize how you want your players to improve. It's a lightyear ahead of EA NHLs somewhat random system. Potential can change if a player has an amazing seaosn, improving, or get worse if you're playing the player at a level below their current skill (Like placing a NHL ready third line player int he AHL for example).

Fantasy Draft - it has a fantasy draft with a lot of settings.

Community - Amazing community that uploads roster updates for FREE EVERY YEAR. EA would charge you 80 dollars for what this community releases for free.

Actual simulator: It's nothing special. Design is reminicsent of 'table hockey' you might play in a Canadian basement. You don't have to watch the games but I find watching them pretty entertaining.

The balance - Balance of players and teams is very strong. it's hard ot win with one good line and three lines of plugs. It's hard to win without good goaltending. It's hard to win without defense. You can build a defense first team or a run and gun team.

Overall: Recommend this as a must buy for fans of GM mode and NHL. There's nothing even close. I tried the older FHM but not the newer one.

As there are pretty much no hockey games at all on PC right now, EHM remains one of the go-tos even in 2020 still if you have the urge to manage a hockey team. The game is so rich in details, and you can have fun for a long time playing the game in different manners (e.g. starting with your favorite team in the NHL to try and win the cup, starting as an unemployed GM and climbing from the depths of an obscure league in Europe to the NHL, playing in an online league, building a Quebecer-only team for the Montreal Canadiens...).

Beware though. The main con in this game is that you will have to be armed with a loooooooooot of patience. Waiting for simulation is a massive part of this game, and probably took half of my actual play time if not more. Have to simulate through a month in the off-season? Start the simulation, get up, go take a nice long walk and come back.

Let's all hope for a new, faster version.

I went through a number of tutorials when I first bought this and still am not really comfortable with how to access things. There is no tutorial that I can find which would help with how to play the game so a waste of money is really what this game is, a real shame as it is very detailed just not sure what to do and no guide in relation to it...

If you've played EA NHL games in GM mode and found them to be lacking, this game is certainly for you. Very in depth, and a lot of fun to manage and coach your team. You will have to download custom rosters if you wish to use NHL teams, however.

Before buying this game, I was a hockey fan but only casually. I had no idea what I was getting into. I knew so little that I edited my starting database to give myself a better team, and thought up some players I was vaguely familiar with. My defensive pairings included Ristolainen, Nurse, and Dumba... I was the Pittsburgh Penguins. Christian Dvorak was my 3rd line centre, and Auston Matthews was my 4th line centre. I was clueless.

Several seasons and failures later, I now have a near-encyclopedic knowledge of hockey just by absorbing what's in the game. I'm not sure how I feel about this, but it got me way more into hockey than I already was.

This spreadsheet simulator has me making spreadsheets outside of the game and learning features in Excel I didn't know existed. This game has thoroughly obliterated my life.

10/10, one of the best, most engaging and life-ruining games I've ever played.

Get the TBL and ECK rosters and facepacks immediately after installing, they're on the workshop. TBL is a frozen season-start roster, ECK evolves with the season.

Have fun, and enjoy becoming a savant who can tell exactly when the opposition's 4th line left winger who has no goals is about to score his first goal of the season, against you, because you've used the exact tactic you can see them lining up for as they go for the face-off.

This is the top hockey simulator out there. Incredibly in depth. There are some minor bugs and issues, but nothing game breaking. I'd recommend downloading one of the 3rd party sidecar apps to edit the game's database. If you play long, long games some things like the unmoving salary cap start to get in the way.

Love it. It's not perfect, but nothing ever is. The community support for this sim is top shelf with continued roster updates and face packs. I lose my self for hrs in this sucker. Been playing this Franchise since 2006 or so. Can't recommend this enough. If you're a fan of hockey and managers you'll love this. In my opinion there still isn't anything around that can touch it. Best money I've ever spent when you look at the amount of time I've invested and enjoyment I get out of it.

I can't stop playing this game. So deep. So many things to do. So many decisions to labor and then grieve over. Decent community.

Then I added facepacks and modded a little to fix some small details. I'll probably be side-playing this for at least....forever.

I'm not sure if any of the other people that lived in my house are still here. Haven't been out in a while

I had never played EHM prior to yesterday, I had followed the NHL afew years ago but had only recently watched ice hockey during the Olympics. The reason I gave this a go was because of its low price and the fact it seemed on the face of it similar to Football Manager. Whilst daunting at first I quickly got to grips with the interface and the basics of the game, whenever I hit terminology or anything I was unsure of a quick google was more than enough to gain an understanding of what I need to know.

If you're someone who enjoys Football Manager but would like an alternative to play I'd highly recommend it, especially at the price it's at. If you love hockey then this should be a no brainer.

I'd also highly recommend downloading roster updates and graphcis packs should you get the game to give yourself a more complete experience!
