What I dislike:
- I got stuck in a wall sometimes and had to restart => loosing all loot and progress
- sometimes the characters don't attack despite klicking the buttons; especially with Catti Brie in archer mode
- the lights of the graphic don't fit; if a character walks/runs it looks strange
- the animations aren't correct sometimes especially in multiplayer; this is bad as you have to react to these animations to block or to go in melee range
- the story seems strange especially regarding the great novel series of Drizzt - everything seems to be broken for centuries in this game and dwarves were slaughtered by the thousands
- stupid behavior of enemies
What I like:
- multiplayer with my daughter
- characters of Legend of Drizzt
- great combat mode: it's not just smashing buttons but combining a string of commands (like good old Street Fighter on SNES) and the parry system is also good; it's this mechanic that makes me come back to this game
- every player has his/her own loot
- very different fighting styles for each character and each enemy
Overall:
Looking at my played time I really do recommend this game but it could be better at quite some aspects.

Habe alle 4 Charaktere getestet und das erste Level durchgemacht.
Die Level sind vllt. wie manche nörgeln weitestgehend gradlinig, aber es gibt Ecken, Nieschen und Seitenwege zum entdecken.
Die Steuerung ist leicht zu lernen, schwieriger zu meistern. Wer ein stumpfes Hack & Slash will, soll weiter Diablo spielen.
Die Kampfanimationen haben eben ihre Zeit und können nicht immer mittendrin abgebrochen werden. Daher ist wildes geklicke eben mitunter tödlich.
Man muss sich mit dem Charakter vertraut machen und seinen eigenen Spielfluss finden.
Durch Anpassung der Schwierigkeit bei Auswahl des Levels kann man sowohl Solo als auch sicher in der Gruppe eine Niveau finden das einem passt.
Bugs hatte ich vielleicht einen, wo bei einem Lagerfeuer das Loot-Level erhöhen nicht direkt genommen wird. Aber nach dem Zeitfenster zur Entscheidung geht das automatisch.
Am Ende des Levels gibt es eine Aufzählung einige Werte, den Loot und Co. Diese hab ich bisher nicht beschleunigen können, dass wäre echt noch nice aber wird sicher nachgepatcht.
Nach meinem Urteil werden meine Freundin und mein bester Freund das Spiel kaufen und wir werden uns für einige Stunden durch das Spiel und die Story prügeln.
Ich schätze wir werden mehr als 20 Stunden dafür benötigen wenn jeder einen Charakter spielt, was dann 2€ pro Stunde wären was für mich schon ein sehr guter Preis ist.
Grafik geil, Sound geil.
Da geht mir in Marvels Avengers die Steuerung mehr auf den Sack als hier !
Wer also nur ein stumpfes Tastenspam-Spiel sucht, soll sich was andres suchen.
Jeder andre soll sich selbst en Bild machen. Man kann es ja schließlich zurückgeben !!!
Sollte es noch Bugs oder sowas in den weiteren Levels geben, wird´s wohl gepatcht.

Abwarten und im Sale kaufen, ja. Ansonsten aktuell wirklich Finger weg!
Falls doch gekauft hier ein Tipp:
- Mit der Bogenschützin einfach alles aus der Ferne ummähen, keiner kommt an euch ran bzw. Ihr triggert meistens nicht mal die Gegner. Falls die Gegner euch doch anvisieren, einfach drei-vier Schritte zurücktreten und sie drehen euch wieder den Rücken zu.
Der Release erinnert mich ein wenig an No Mans Sky. Es hat potenzial, aber es fehlt an vielen Ecken und Enden. Multiplayer ruckelt wie sonst was, Gegner sind wirklich doof und die Bosse sind einfach öde...
Einfach abwarten und im Sale vielleicht ein Titel zum Spaß haben.

Had no bugs at all, game plays pretty stable.
Combat is fun and not repetetive at all.
Some classes play better then others.
Exploration is pretty rewardinng.
Im glad i bought this game and can recommend it if you like atmospheeric dunngeon crawlers. Even better if you are playing with friends.

My expectations where low.
And its not that bad at all.
There are issues, locking system is weird, difficulty is all over the place.
But the world design, voice acting, music and combo system are pretty great.
This is a game you get frustrated by as a D&D fan. underneath all the issues there is a game that could have been a lot more. A solid dungeon crawler with action combat.
Its still a fun game, with some fun boss fights and awesome designed dungeons.
A solid loot system as well. (inspired by vermintide for sure).
If you like D&D or action dungeon crawlers, then get this on a sale.
Sit back and have some mindless fun.

... gotta be in a brawler-fighting mood ... and played in short bursts from time to time,.
But the one thing that kind of turned me off was that the Soccer character was shown in the base game as available but then locked for selection unless you buy the DLC expansion. I do not care for Soccer or magic based characters in games but it just seemed kind scummy and unfair to those who do like those types of characters.

I acknowledge since release that the devs are really trying hard to fix this game and there is a lot of improvements made since its launch that are better. I am a solo player only so I cannot reflect on any co-op or match-making issues that may have arisen (but have heard how bad it can be). I bought this game not so much for being a dnd lover (which I am not really) but because I adore fantasy and anything Elves. I love Drizzt and have read the novels so I wanted to play as his character. I did enjoy his character in the game, his combat and of course his main skill being summoning Guenhwyvar (which was cool).
I could go on about how there is so many issues with the bad enemy design and whatnot but honestly the reviews and Youtube are enough for you to see why it is a negative review. Also one of my biggest gripes, which is small in the list of things, is the lack of ability to be able to favorite gear and weapons. To me any loot driven game needs this as a standard feature. (Outriders has this issue too). I have sold items (and you can't do any buybacks) over this more than once.
One good thing I do want to point out is the cut-scenes and voice overs are well done. I appreciated the cinematics very much for this game. I enjoyed the dragon and the humor thrown in to the characters too. So there is some good stuff in this game too but it is lost in the combat and AI issues.
Get it on a steep sale. I am sure in time it will improve but for now it is just not there yet. ????️

I see people saying they have had fun and I can agree with that. The game CAN be fun. It is a lot of work however to get to that point. I also think, in my opinion, that it is only fun with friends. Trying it solo it is tedious at best and frustrating at worst.
Combat feels unweildly/clunky, bugs are still everywhere, and (when playing online) the netcode leaves multiplayer feeling worse in terms of bugs.
When the game works, when it doesn't bug out, enemies don't break, then its fun. Its the patience to get there for fleeting moments.
So in general, if you play with friend and want to play the heroes of the Forgotten Realms then I don't think you will have issues. Bugs will eventually get squashed.
Otherwise I'd say pass on this, or at least wait til 2022 June and see if a year of fixes can get this mediocre game to become a good game.

It's not the same classical Dark Alliance and thats fine but, this buggy clunky un-optimized mess of a game just makes it un-playable and dull. I mean, on release date. It was unplayable but, those game breaking bugs have been fixed. What hasn't been fixed is how clunky everything feels. Hitting anything in this games (as delayed as it is) has no impact or excitement. I'm not expecting Devil May Cry 5s fluent combat system but, I'm at least expecting something that competes with a AAA title, because you are charging the price of a AAA title. I only have 2 hours of game play and I am unable to refund this mess of a game. I'm glad Steam support pitys you a bit but, I will not be returning to this game and will be letting the masses know to save there money on this one, despite it being a title of nostalgia. Until an overhaul has been made.

I was excited for this game when I first bought it, I've tried playing it for about 4 hours but it's stupidly bad.
The combat is so wonky it doesn't make sense. For example, if you try to dodge there is a slight delay, but because of the way the enemies are (especially bosses) it's a crucial delay. Speaking of bosses, stonegrinder is the biggest piece of garbage about this game. They put what seems like an impossible boss on the second level. You are extremely under geared for this boss as he one shots you if you are the assassin.
Don't buy this game, save your money.

I have yet to form a new opinion since this large title update was released. But I wanted to be fair to the Devs, because I predicted that we'd only see life-support patching before the DLC, and this update was at least significant in scope, even if I cannot comment on if it made things better or worse. They are at least trying. So take my review with the knowledge that we got at least one more crack at it before they gave up.

Hundreds of games in my steam library, some of which I have never played, and this is the first game I ever honestly regretted pre-ordering, and I say that as a person that bought the big WWE2k20 bundle.
This game is just playable enough to not be BAD, it's just a tragic mess. It's not fun, it's too hard or too easy, with no balance in between. The loot scaling changes with every update and it's never been just right, loot is hard to get and boring -- they accidentally made it fun for a week -- then patched it to be worse than before, the multiplayer has been busted the entire time, including disabled crossplay because it just plain never worked. The save system is wonky and the camp checkpoint system was a clever idea that doesn't make any sense in its current form. Every choice they made they made in the wrong direction. If something would have been more fun one way, they made it the opposite way. Nail in the franchise's coffin.
Bad issues at launch, then 2 or 3 patches that made the game even less fun for everyone, bugs still present, and no word for a month. At this point I fully expect they're finishing the DLC, and we'll see one last QC patch so they don't get sued and we'll never hear about this game again until GVMERS does a Tragedy Of episode in 7 years.
The only reason I didn't refund it was because I was literally away from home from the time the pre-orders went live to a month after launch because of a prolonged family health crisis. Nevermind the $60, this game owes me back the 15 years I waited for it.

First impression: meh, balance issues (especially when solo)
Second impression: OK so the levels have some pretty sweet design, and their whombo-combos are pretty cool (if insufficiently documented), and playing with someone else is WAY more fun...
Third impression: OK I'm gonna play this again tonight
Conclusion: Timed parries against known movesets in detailed environments that drop occasionally interesting loot is an interesting game after all!

The action brawler-ness of this game needs a lot work, why give the characters a dodge button if a goblin swinging a sword is going to hit you from 3 meters away? A lot of attacks will just hit you regardless of distance.
Frost trolls don't even have attack animations. They stand still as mist comes out of their bodies and you'll just see your health drop.
If you knock down an ogre it can attack you with an AoE as it is getting up, but again, there is no animation for this. There's no reason to expect an attack cause it just looks like it's getting up.
The last boss can spam an ice beam that will stunlock you to death.
Drizzt is absolutely busted, pretty early on he unlocks the ability to have 100% crit rate when he is behind an enemy and will outclass anyone in an online session.
You can't sell junk equipment all at once, if you've amassed a lot of common gear, get ready to hold down your confirmation button for minutes after every few missions.
You will stay locked on to dead enemies.
Some enemies will drop loot, if you manage to knock one of those monsters into a hole, the loot will forever be stuck hovering above that pit, unreachable.
Any loot left on the ground before a short rest will disappear after a short rest.
Loot can seemingly spawn in any direction around an open chest. So if the chest is near a pit or a tall ledge that you can't climb, and the loot lands in those places, the loot will be unreachable.

Don't expect another Dark Alliance game as release on XBox
Imagine Vermintide meeting The Lord of the Rings: War in the North.
In theory this could be a great idea, but here is why it doesn't quite work in this game.
You will also notice these issues link together in the perfect storm
1) Solo feels unbalanced - if you can't find players at a similar level you play alone and are unable to rez in boss fights etc.
2) Most players were highest level after a week - Got the game but was unable to play until weekend of release. Big mistake as enemies are levelled with characters for all maps
3) Inactive Player Base after a month - Good luck finding anyone!
4) No Bots - If you've played Vermintide you will know sometimes it is a better option over random players
5) Clunky, boring solo Combat - To me it seems slow and clunky, if they have an arrow sponge boss, get ready to yawn
6) Irritating environmental effects - Warmth to combat 5 times in one map or you die quickly
7) No progress for failure - Got fed up with Vermintide runs where you lose at the last hurdle...
8) Takes ages to level up on lower difficultys
In all fairness the story map and characters are nice and the game looks and plays fine except for the above.
Unfortunately it becomes more frustrating than fun.
If you can put together a team of like minded people, I'm sure it would be a lot better

The combat controls are clunky, at best, the enemy hit-boxes are inaccurate, there are no RPG elements at all, and you have to sit through the entire, opening movie every time you start the game (and it isn't short). The AI is horrendously stupid, some creatures take over 1,000 hits to kill (even at the very beginning of the game), and the traps... don't get me started on the traps.
I played this game for a few hours, total, trying to give it a chance, but it's really, really bad. This is what games become when someone knows nothing about D&D, sucks at making games, and just wants to milk the cash cow that is 5E.
At least it's pretty... and that's not nearly enough.

This game is trash...
When playing in the multiplayer sessions the animations are broken to the point where you have no idea when or if you are going to get hit by the baddies. When picking up items or even breaking barrels there is a heavy delay and the animation is extremely lacking.
The game feels bare bones and offers little to the players to their interest over a few hours. Clear the level, pick up the loot and rinse repeat for every single instance...
This game feels like an alpha with the instances and gears crap system in place but with nothing else. This game could have become something great that gamers would love to play but with the limitations on game play and the horrible synchronization issues this is pass.
Most of the goblins and even the bosses will literally just stand there and watch you kill their friends and family. There are no down sides to being wiped. You die you come back and do the same crap over again with no challenge. You can just pass all the mobs and go straight to the boss after death. You could even farm a few chests quit then dumb down the difficulty finish the level and keep all the gear that was originally given to you at level 6. whats the point? why was this game not tested? Mobs should follow you through out the instance not allow you just skip them freely. You should also lose all your gear you gained after quitting and going to camp.
The director originally stated that he thought this game would be like the Metal version of dark alliance... Pff this is more like the nickelback of videos games and not near close to the quality of Metallica or AC/DC etc well known and liked metal bands but with the bugs and the BS this game is the nickelback of video games.
What does nickelback this game and a vacuum cleaner have in common? They all suck!

I found myself getting stuck in many areas when jumping or teleporting. When doing certain moves my character would freeze up unable to move for a few seconds.
No saves allowed so if you don't finish a certain area you have to start all the way at the beginning.
