Cooles DLC, schade, das das DLC nicht mit NPC zum durchspielen ist, weil im Koop mit fremden Spieler ist es schwer alle Kapitel durchzuspielen, da die Meisten keine Lust haben, oder keine Zeit haben... Schade.... Schöne kleine Nebenstory, man muss es halt schaffen die durchzuspielen, am besten mit Freund den man kennt ;).... Würde aber dennoch empfehlen, neben den anderen DLC's ist Awakened, meiner Meinung das einzigste DLC das sich zu kaufen lohnt.

The addon is fun, and the environment looks orgasmic, but the ending

The ENDING

IT SUCKS HARD

It's either all a hallucination or everything was for nothing. I legit headcannoned this addon out of my desired canon. Having Carver and Isaac fight on the planet till they drop doom style is probably better than this ending. It's a total downer, but at least I got some free MK-lls with it.

Even if it makes sense that it may be impossible to stop the moons, I just don't like it. Get this for the achievements and never play it again. The concepts in the addon were kinda cool though, not gonna lie and at least carver gets some more lines to say like the amazing man that he is.

This DLC is totally unnecessary and should've been in the main game or at least as a free dlc, It is extremely short. if you still want to know what happens after the main ending just go and watch on youtube. its another clifhanger anyways.

This DLC should have been include in the main story not tell us to buy this shit.
If want to make a DLC at least do a 10+ hour gameplay with proper ending.
This DLC not even 2 hours gameplay, shiiiiiitttttttt waste my money.

You do not need this to enjoy the experience as it is - and this content really SHOULD be base game.

Also, it's basically useless unless you have a friend to play with you who ALSO has everything.

Give it a miss, it's not just situational - it's expensive.

has the real ending to dead space packed in a 5 dollar 2-3 hour dlc. additionally f*ck EA for rushing visceral to make this game and demanding that they sell 5 million copies when you forced them to make a lesser game and stuff it with dlc F*ck you EA you killed my favorite fracnhise and an amazing game studio. but about the dlc its much more like the first 2 games rather than this one and has psychological horror but its so short lived and makes you wonder how much potential this game had (even though its some of the most fun ive had and i love this game) and rip to dead space 4 it sounded fucking amazing....only but this dlc if you really like the game

Honestly, it's fun, and a nice intro into what would have been dead space 4. But it was entirely too short of a dlc to justify the price. I know it's story based dlc but 10 bucks nowadays is a lot for what was 1.5 hours (maybe) of playtime.

Cost me more than the base game on sale. Lasted me probably under an hour though, pretty terrible value I've got to say.

Like the base games dungeon like side quests there's a lot of reused assets from other maps, in fact the entire 2nd chapter is just the SCAF mass driver with candles and other gory decorations added in an attempt to spice it up (poorly i might add). Reusing tiles makes sense when done right, it saves time and helps the production pipeline flow properly but whereas i might find it acceptable in the base game in a separate paid DLC however it is not. I wouldn't have minded as much if they were utilised in a more creative manner akin to the intro scene but no.

Probably not worth it, but if you really adore the IP you might still get something out of it even if it just raises more questions in an already messy plot.

A short DLC made of 3 chapters that takes back where the main story left after you finished the game. Difficulty wise, it's a bit more challenging than the main story, although it wasn't much of a problem personally. You can finish it very fast (less than two hours, even one hour if you're fast).

If you found the main story lacked in terms of the horror genre, this one is closer to it, I believe. [spoiler]Some of the Unitologists managed to get crazier and even started a cult church on one of the ships, to the point of freaking the other Unitologists who try to hide away from them). Throughout the corridors, you will find dismembered limbs that they cut off themselves, like some gory horror movies.[/spoiler]

Buy this only if you want to play it for the gameplay though. Even if it's short, it's a few more chapters to have fun with, with your customised weapons. If all you want is the story, it might be better to go check some videos on Youtube or something in case you'll be disappointed.

eh. i think its a fine dlc and worth it if you liked dead space 3... however it's only worth it on sale, you get about maybe a half an hour of game time for $10 which is really shallow especially considering the game itself took me around 18 hours with extras. Though if you do see it on sale for like $5 then i say go ahead and get it.
Forgot to mention the ending sucks only because you pay $10 for a cliffhanger that has never been followed up (thanks EA)

The story is far more interesting than dead space 3 and it reminded me sometimes of Dead Space 1.The atmosphere and the feeling of this dlc is what dead space 3 should have been.
There is big problem though.This should have been part of the main game or longer.I played this in impossible and finished in max 1 hour. Definitely not worth the price.Wait for a sale.

In all my days, I have never seen a cliffhanger immediately followed by a second cliffhanger - that costs 10 bucks.

I waited about a year to play this with my co-op partner because his save got corrupted. I think I would rather get a second COVID than try that again.

Don't buy this.

My review assumes you are a Dead Space fanatic, I DO NOT RECOMMEND this for anyone but those who love the Dead Space series

This is how the whole game should've been!

I absolutely loved how this DLC plays out. It only has one flaw: it is shorter than a virgin's first time, but boy is it just as memorable! The way [spoiler]the story's writing plays to Issac's madness from DS2, causing you to straight-up question reality[/spoiler] sells this for me along with the amped difficulty and challenging encounters. Unlike the base game, this short alternate ending brings in the horror; I was actually disturbed by the [spoiler]cultist chanting and dementia-attacks[/spoiler], the latter of which can kill you like any real Necromorph. I can't speak for the co-op side of this story, but you can bet it will be a wild, albeit short-lived, trip through true terror.

This s**t makes me wish the base game was made in the same style, and it should have been. It's a damn shame that isn't the case, as that tonal shift alone would've made DS3 probably the best in the series for me. To bad Visceral Games won't ever be able to make up for this one (they got shut down). Perhaps a spiritual successor is in order?

It is very short, but it has a great story, and it is genuine space horror as opposed to the main installment. If you enjoyed the other Dead Space games, especially DS3, it is worth playing. It is perhaps the creepiest of all the games in the series, and it adds additional valuable details to the game world and its story.

Congratulations you've beat the mediocre and unrewarding Dead Space 3. But surprise surprise, the writers actually got some talent back and decided to add something that wasn't a complete sell-out. If you want to be more disappointed at what the game could have been, or how much more clever the writing could be, then try this out.

I kind of liked the story, but this is an overpriced DLC which is very short and repetitive. It is a sequel to the ending of the main game Dead Space 3, and it even features a full map of the latter which is reintroduced in this expansion. To me, this is lazy developing to say the least...

I would not recommend it. Maybe get it if price goes down at about 5 bucks, or play it if you get it gifted to you by somebody. Either way, do not expect a great experience, but rather a bland and occasionally fun one.

Am I crazy to think that this is better than the main game? It is very short and would be strange that it's half the cost of the full main game if it wasn't EA we're talking about. 'only 2.3% have this achievement' -ie- 'bad moon rising'- completing the DLC'--> that tells you pretty much everything about this DLC.

without the DLC the story of Issac was 'concluded'- tragic and in a way open ended too(if they wanted) but the DLC, which is very short by the way and currently during a discount selling at almost the same price as the complete game, leaves the story in middle- hanging. Now this was released 6 months after the main game so did they not know there will be no dead space 4, couldnt have they made it a bit longer and concluded the story?! its too bad because it was what the main game should have been(game play, environment, horror etc).

If you're like me and wondering how to start the DLC of Dead Space 3, you need to start *new game +* and select the option where you keep all your gear. From there find the DLC option and start Awakened.

Personally? The DLC is too short. I liked the story and ending though but to each their own.

I'd like to safely say that this DLC is FANTASTIC. Me and my friend think that this short DLC is better than the base game alone as its terrifying. Don't get me wrong the base game has its scary moments and its badass moments, but this DLC just throws a whole new thing at you. I hold hope for two things... a Remaster of this series and a 4th installment... With Skate 4 being confirmed the hope has returned that they will revive this series somehow someway even if its not by viceral I just need it to happen. The DLC's story is good... the New Church is a great addition and the enemies are terrifying. Good fun!

Just look it up on youtube if you wanna see the story

Takes 1 hour to fully complete and the only map is just the one from the first part of the game. Avoid.

Maybe not really worth the price. It's a very short DLC, maybe less than 1 hour if you just rush through

I got it as part of a package deal. Many years ago I'd played through all the Dead Space games. I thought this would be good because I never really felt like the series ended completely. This DLC is short. And I don't like it. I really don't recommend it. In fact, I think it should have never been made. Don't pay for it. And really, even if you get it free, don't play it. Stick with the ending at the end of DS3.

Awakened is a short three-chapter finale to conclude Dead Space 3, and possibly the series.

It picks up right where Dead Space 3 left off, with Isaac Clarke and John Carver on the surface of Tau Volantis, putting you in their shoes as they try to escape and return home to Earth.

The levels and situations are just as you would expect with the Dead Space series, and the psychological horror elements are quite powerful in these chapters, especially in chapter 2 and 3. Even though Awakened clears up things surrounding the ending of Dead Space 3, it raises other questions, and ends on a potential cliff-hanger. With that said though, Awakened offers a much more satisfying ending than the base game provided.

I hope another instalment of Dead Space comes out to finalize the story, either as a video game, or a movie, to bring full definitive closure to this series. But if not, it's not too hard to let the series rest as a tragic tale with these final chapters, and its lovecraftian end.

I strongly recommend you play Awakened if you're a fan of the Dead Space series, or want to see the best ending of Dead Space 3!

A really short and lazy dlc. Contributes very little to the story and mess with the original ending... that was already bad
