Day of Dragons is an online creature survival sandbox game set in a large, beautiful, open world with multiple biomes. Rule the world as one of several dragon species, or unlock the secrets to playing as a giant Elemental.

Features Will Include:

Play as Dragons and unlock other playable mythical creatures such as giant Elementals.
Survive! You come into the world as a hatchling and must eat, drink, survive, and grow to become an adult.
Online Steam Multiplayer. Play with other people. Some creatures are players, some are AI. It all takes place on a Dedicated server that you or someone else is hosting.
Huge Mega Map. The world is huge and beautiful with multiple biomes including forests, deserts, lava, swamps, grasslands, and caves.
Special abilities! Some dragons can fly, breath fire, spit acid, and even turn invisible!
Growth. Your dragon grows over time. You need to eat and drink to survive to the adult stage.
Movement. Dragons can fly, they can swim, they can walk, run, trot, and even sleep!
Fire! Dragons can breathe fire, some spit acid, some shoot plasma. Each dragon species is different and has different stats.
Nesting. Dragons can lay eggs which can then be hatched by players, each egg inherits stats from each parent. Or you can spawn into the game with randomly assigned stats. Each dragon will have slightly different stats within the range of its species.
End game. The game is more than just growing and surviving. After reaching adult, you can unravel the mystery that will allow your dragon to grow stronger, sometimes even larger, becoming an Alpha dragon of your species. You may even unlock the Elementals, an alpha-class playable character and be hunted for the rest of your days by every dragon on the server seeking your utter demise.

This game is really nice. Its fun with friends-although its still a Beta its good!! its very nive and much fun flying.
For now you can only choose one dragen other you have to buy.

Im derzeitigen Stadium ist Day of Dragons ein sehr sehr schlechtes Spiel das nahezu keinen Kontent bieten kann, wenn der/die Entwickler nicht bald mal das Spiel ordentlich bearbeiten sehe ich leider keine Zukunft für Day of Dragons

There's a lot of drama involving the devs and the mods of this game, and quite frankly there are far too many people saying that the devs are overly punishing for me to be comfortable with. I personally haven't experienced it, but when it's like half the community saying it? I'm concerned.

The game itself is in a decent enough state for being in early access if you can ignore the bugs. Despite the mount of hours invested into this game, I have to leave it a bad review. The problem lies with the blatant admin bias and abuse rampant on the official servers. All of the admins are in one clan and if you speak out against them or express disagreements, you will have action taken against you (bans, mutes, etc). Meanwhile the members of the admins' clan do not receive these same actions.

i love this game and all its models and dragon ability's. but there is one thing that need to be changed that would improve the game drastically, which is the clans. the clans ruin the games fun, by which i mean every time you get adult you go out and get killed by a group of 5 or more dragons. and this happens every. single. time. i love your game but please consider this take on it.

This game while incredibly fun has it's more than fair share of admin distrust by the public eye. While several public members have submitted concerns and complaints about admin abuse in-game, bias and favoritism in-game (since Admins were allowed to join clans until just last week) I had not had first hand experience until today.

I had submitted a bug about a speed issue that I had encountered and recorded media for the bug (as I have done for several bugs in the past that I was not called out for to not have the media public, these were negative player experience bugs so I assume that's why I wasn't warned about that)

I was then reached out to by Lead Admin Tenshi who started the DM's off with accusing me of hacking instead of first getting my side of the story first then kept pushing for different ways the strike would stand.

After then explaining the situation to Community Manager Midnight they said that a soft warning would still stand because I shouldn't have shared the exploit (This was when I was playing with friends and after hitting the bug I was showing them the silliness of the situation)

So, lessons learned here is don't report bugs the Admins will punish you for it without getting you're side of the story first and it does in fact appear Admin Misconduct is an issue you can very will face when playing this game.

I will probably stop and warn other players from getting the game for a few years until Admin confidence is restored.

A friend of mine was scammed out of 200-300 dollars after donating to a kickstarter for exclusive skins for the melanistic, zygovo, behemoth ice drake, the hybrid, the bioluminescent dragon, and the single crest dragon. if anyone else lost these skins PLEASE message me with proof, because this is a straight felony on their part. they stole almost $500,000 dollars worth of assets from 12,123 players. so PLEASE if anyone donated and didnt receive exclusive content or had it and lost it PLEASE GO STRAIGHT TO STEAM SUPPORT WITH PROOF OF THIS.

This is my second account, the issue is the same.
US 1 PVP Admins are allowed to be in clans and abuse their power as such to give an unfair advantage to said clans, Devs know and don't care, the whole server was muted for a week for talking about the subject in global. We take it to discord like we was told and the issues are deleted and reactions turned off to keep from knowing how bad it is. The game has its flaws as its in early dev which is expected but the clear admin abuse is what kills the game. Until something is done I highly recommend not getting this game.

While a beautiful game with fantastic flying mechanics and life system - there simply isn't enough content to really drive gameplay in any meaningful way.

Often, spawns and water-holes are camped by large groups who are immediately hostile. Even after spending 30-40 minutes at a time per respawn, yielding no real noticeable result than death.

While you can run/hide etc, after reaching adult there is really no point in playing anymore as any attempt to breed a better quality dragon without a massive 20 person group is not recommended.

The DLC dragon added as a wingless ground runner is too fast to hit unless you have one yourself. I would highly recommend the developers rebalance the hitpoints, growth stages and scale back the damage inflicted as to make fights either more interesting, or simply longer. As it stands, any group of four Acid spitting dragons can one-shot (bite once) a target and kill it.

Official server US1 PVP admin is participate in game, they can kill you, but not allow you to kill them, when you are about to kill their group members, you will get admin's warning, the admin will say stop attacking their group members, then use admin authority to make you cant move, and permission to make you mute etc. this is happened one more times.the officials are not doing anything,or they acquiescence the admin to abuse of that power?

This Game has so much potential as an Idea however the Dev's are very disconnected from the player base.
This has led to a lot of the best content being ruined a example of this is the current nesting.
Nesting was a big part of the content in the game and now it is ruined by the dev's preparing for a project that might not even take place for years the Dev team works really slow but expect to change things to prepare for projects there not even close to being ready to work on.

To start. I have given it a day. Let my emotions settle. And decided - while all points valid - I wanted to say more. So yes. I have edited this review. But my review being a no - has not changed.

I wish I could give this game a good review. And in good conscience recommend it to my friends who do not play. But at this point - I just cannot. And it is unfortunate that up to this point, I have financially supported this game. It is sad because it could have so much potential. But I cannot continue to ignore the warning signs. There is something that is severely lacking for this game. Communication. And as a result - how those in the community are at times spoken to and interacted with. You can’t make major changes and not expect backlash when you make a major change with no forewarning. Then cry ‘personal attack’ when people complain and are unhappy with the changes. Or are unhappy about the way you speak to them in ‘threats’ later claimed as a ‘joke’ (then only a joke to those who agree with you but a threat to those who don’t). How Jao - the supposed captain of this ship - can resort to childish actions and problematic reactions. This being the person we are supposed to trust to lead the game into the great game it *could* be. I understand patreon and kickstarters getting early access to things. But when there is something that so drastically changes something in the game, communication and forewarning are important.

I had been supporting on patreon and saw nothing to forewarn for such a sudden decimation to a system that has been in play for a long time. When the update came live - nesting change was nothing more than an obscure footnote that did not warn nor clarify anything. And when asked - those answering had no clue there had even BEEN a change immediately affecting the nesting. And as such, many of us received answers that would be edited 3+ times. Each drastically different or vague as the last. That said - you would think all mods/admins would at least be in the loop as to these changes so that they can prepare an answer. Or even not be afraid to say “You know what. I do not have the answer. Let me get back to you.” I would have been more understanding. It gets *frustrating* when you feel like you're getting your chain yanked.

I have been on multiple early access games, and supported a number of games in early development that didn’t even have early access yet. But they all have done leagues better at communicating and forewarning. Setting reasonable expectations. For example, Larian Studios is excellent at providing updates ahead of time giving a glimpse at what is to come. And notes major changes that will be coming out. As well as clear notes as to the fixes/changes being implemented. You don’t have to give away the entire game to keep the community informed. But - this community as a whole could benefit exponentially from more clear communication. And it coming before - not after such things occur. ’m just saying we need better communication.

If there is more clarity, and forewarning for things - while yes. You will still have people who are not happy. At least we feel informed. We can prepare ourselves for change. Doing it *before* - not after. Otherwise those who have invested time and money into this vision may give up on it because those developing do not seem to care about - or appreciate that support. And when you attack - and allow others to attack (and reward them) - those who are upset when major changes come uninformed or warned - it creates just a toxic cesspool. I’m not saying there is no hope for the game. I hope that more transparency and more proper handling of people and situations will come around. But this far into development, I am not holding my breath. I have played hundreds of hours over multiple accounts. Well over 300 between them all. This is the account I have used least. And - as it stands, me giving this review is not about the changes in the end. It is about the lack of care for the community. About the actions and words of the developer towards people whom clearly had enough faith in the game to support it. Because of these reasons, I would suggest finding an alternative game to invest your time and money into.

Not bad from a game design standpoint, and it has improved a ton from when it first released. I believe the game has come far from the original controversy and the devs definitely deserve a pat on the back for that.

My problem here is with how the game treats clans as a system. Any species can group with another, and there's basically nothing put in place to make playing solo a viable option. Originally you could hatch as your own egg, but I believe you can't even do that anymore. The game literally promotes playing in a clan and absolutely shits on you for even imagining that you could have fun solo. If you have a large group of friends, by all means try the game out. But don't even bother if you're alone or in a duo.

i have played this game for over 80 hours. in my honest full opinion it is it is shit most dragons u have to buy extra and then some u wont even get unless u pay 100 bucks to there patrion for more than 3 months so u know thats a lot of money, they have stolen assets as well as the verry real toothless rip off it has 2 dragons in the game 2 if u buy the dlc for the acid spiter then u own both if u dont buy the dlc u only get one dragon the toothless ripoff u also eaither die when u spawn in from others instant killing u as a baby cause well u cant run away fast enough let alone fly oh did i mention u have to be close to adult to fly u can only glide as a juvi and thats if ur droped from the sky, u cant get to elder half the time cause pople came the spawns for elder shrooms the thing u have to eat to grow to elder no u dont spend time on the game to grow to elder like ur other stages u have to eat elder shrooms to grow u dont pick ur skins its random and have of them look like total dog shit,oh i didnt mention how ur verry likely to starve to death as a baby cause the ai are to fast for them and u dont have a fire breath or blast till ur older! finding water well ur gana die from dehydration to if u dont know the map, it is not a newbie friendly game at all i and my friends were mad at this fact we were ligit dieiing left and right or geting skins that made us look like total dog shit, oh and ur stats if ur a spawn dont even tright fighting anyone who is nested there gana over power u and most popele dont nest out on survival servers all in all dont get it unless u wana spend more than the games worth of money cause its not worth the time

I don't tend to write reviews, but I will submit one for this, for several reasons.

This game popped up on my feed and I'll admit, I fell in love with the very --idea-- of playing a dragon. I mean - who wouldn't? Dragons! Who doesn't like DRAGONS???

Ok, so as I shed my shell and wander around....it's extremely difficult to survive without help. I've hatched 11 dragons and only one has survived on it's own. There are only two forms of food, there are large sections of the map where there is no food, no water or both - if you hatch there it's certain death without some assistance.

I've seen complaints about the scenery - I would ask if folks have set their video settings high enough (or can they if their rig allows). The default is, indeed, fairly bland and boring - but at Cinematic settings it's like looking at a whole new world - so I strongly recommend the highest settings you can get away with on whatever you're playing on.

There --needs-- to be more and varied sources of food for the dragons. Period. Full stop. The land is vast enough (and varied enough) you can have mammals of various types running around to be prey to the dragons. There need to be more sources of water. On established servers (and by that I mean consistently more than a few dozen folks on during primetime) most folks are gathered around one or two spots because those are the only places where there are enough resources to support the population.

This is one of those games which can be frustrating - especially flying - though I will say the recent update made it much easier. If you've played flight simulator games you will be well served - the flight mechanics are realistic and obviously taken from realistic-simulator type games (though when the dragons crash-land (and trust me, you will - frequently) could be more realistically done).

I wish there were more actions the dragons can take - there are 6 emotes, I think? Either that or more ability to vary the movements of the dragons (though I'm not sure how to do that outside of a full-body VR rig, but I digress). The game is in Beta and that should be taken into account.

I do wish there was more to do, but right now the game revolves around gathering resources, exploring, practicing flying, increasing stats and unlocking skins. While this is not a bad thing for an immature game, for many this can get boring quickly. If you don't fall in with a pack of friendly dragons to play with the lustre will fade quickly and I can see many getting bored and leaving, hoping to return when there is more content.

I've landed on a few different servers and for the most part the population has been friendly, helpful, and welcoming - I've read some reviews complaining about the server population. I do know that there is competition to gather the resources to become an Elder Dragon...this can cause some issues (and could have higher spawn rates for a higher pop server) but overall these issues can be worked out with civility.

The final word....with the understanding that it's a small indie studio, I'm going to give the game a strong 8 out of 10. There is a solid foundation to build from - they have a framework and working flight. They have achieved many things already that many others can't say for this stage of game development, and for that they should be commended. They are at the stage where they can (and should...and hopefully will) flesh out what they have built. It is my sincere hope that they will do so fairly shortly. I will look forward to it while practicing flips and crash-landings on my Shadow Scale.

And hopefully I will see you there. *Waves a wing, and flies off*

Not worth the 30 bucks honestly. Nowhere near enough content to ask for more than 5-10 dollars for it. Anywhere outside the US is completely empty. And even then the US only has like 50 players across 2-3 servers at a time. Most are PVP so if you don't like getting hunted down as a small juvenile or hatchling and losing a few hours of sitting and doing nothing while you eat mushrooms and drink water then don't buy this. If, by any chance you DO like getting killed and constantly restarting your progress, then you are probably wanna of the knobheads that goes around murdering hatchlings.

Game is completely unfinished and has stagnated for far too long for any hope of completion or improvement.

This is a great idea with unbelievable potential. However, and at the moment of writing this, unless it's on sale, wait to buy this.

This part is what hurts the most for a game like this. A big lifeless world. No wild animals to hunt or fight, just mushrooms and bugs. How was that missed in a survival game...with Dragons? The majority of the map has no trees or foliage. In addition, the food spawns in small patches within those small areas of trees and/or foliage. So stick to a low pop server first time out.

PVP is cool with friends, but you'll get bullied without them, so keep that in mind. Plus, the huge empty map doesn't help you escape, so just go down swinging! The leveling system is a foot note in your stats window. 7 hrs in and 2 whole points. Honestly, they're not even worth applying.

Now the part that drew me in, Dragons! I'll be nice and just say it needs a lot of work. But the flying part is fun!

In conclusion, PVE is a Dragon hatching/flying simulator and PVP is for friends just looking to burn some time. I really hope the Devs listen to their community cause someone else might.

Love it... you actually get to be and survive as a dragon. You hatch from an egg as a hatchling and must sniff your way to food and water to survive. Grow up and learn to fly freely about the world and explore (or run really fast if you chose a wingless type). Choose to play on PVP or PVE servers, make new friends and build a community. This is still in Beta so there's a lot that seems to be missing, particularly fauna-wise, but the world they've created is really beautiful and I can't wait to see what they do with it. Kudos.

This is a great game! From how long I've played it's great so far but, for an early access game, it should not be worth $22, and for being around from 2019-2021, it should have gone threw a bit more progress with how long it takes the models to be made. Especially since there are only 2 dragon models created in a span of nearly 4 years. (This is not me sending hate to the creators, this is me speaking my mind. Sorry if it comes off rude.)

Well, it's been two years and I'm still waiting for this program to be a game. Right now it's little more than a glorified model viewer (and the models aren't even rigged properly). I've thankfully been spared from the awful forums and discord, but I'd've needed to be blind to not notice how quickly the devs stopped caring about kickstarters (and the bonuses that they had been promised before this winged dumpster had gotten off the ground) the minute they set up a patreon. I wouldn't be that upset with how little progress has been made in the game if I didn't also know just how much money the devs had managed to piss away with nothing to show for it. And now they're making paid dlc? That even the reviews that recommend the game describe the game as being unfinished? At some point you have to swallow your buyer's remorse and stop pumping your money into a project that's been dead in the water for years.

This game has a lot of potential. The flying animations and camera movement is magnificent. I love the clans system, group, hatching and server system. And I am also relieved that this game is both PVE and PVP friendly (which not many survival games like this are). The map design and way point system could use quite a bit of work, but otherwise, it is pretty well done for a game in its stage!

CONS:
-The lack of dragon variety (unless you want to pay for a DLC)
-Limited things to hunt
-The boredom you get once you hit the adult stage
-Elder growth is extremely boring, especially when the spawn points are being camped
-A small and basic map, it needs a little more places to be fun to explore
-Flight controls are a bit hard to get used to

PROS:
-Sounds are beautiful
-Decent graphics
-Phenomenal flying and camera movement (despite the complicated controls)
-Growth system is very realistic
-Fun to chill in and make friends
-The skins are quite cool and well made

I would definitely recommend this game to the people who play survival games like The Isle and are patient with growing.
Especially if you have been waiting for a game like this to fill out your dragon dreams

This game is 2 years old and so far they have;
- 1 AI insect
- 1 Playable Dragon base + 1 already locked behind DLC (wtf finish your game before DLC, or grant the Early Access buyers it for free)
- 1 Endgame idea (to max your stats)

The scenery is mostly bland fields and grass, some forests here and there and a big rock with a pool of water nearby. The sounds are enjoyable tbf to them, they definitely don't feel like they ripped the clips from some bird/deer like dinosaur games often do.

The community seems cool, it definitely has nice players all chilling about. It does attract a sort of crowd that do roleplays though, so avoid those servers would be my best advice.

The basic gameplay is you hatch as a young dragon and go to forage for food and water. It's rather tedious and long, so most players just get bigger dragons to boost them because they have wings and shoot fire better. It takes a decent amount of time before you can get to the point where you can even fly, let alone breath fireballs. Sadly the projectiles are lame looking and lack any impact or immersion. Flying is fun. Stamina management is not, and really should be shifted from whatever the devs consider to be reasonable to something much longer. If one is a dragon, they should be able to run for longer than 10s, or go more than 10min without suddenly needing water. The timing of everything in the game feels off and untested.

With not a lot of content and a lot left by the devs to do, I'm afraid it's just not worth the buy. The community is cool but cool people exist everywhere, and if you play solo you might as well forget it.

Great concept, however it definately Irks me that before all of the default dragons have been added to the game, the slimey move of adding a pay to get flightless dragon seems to be a greedy move by the Devs, They only release one dragon that can fly, and ask the players waiting for more to be added for variety, to pay for the next addition to get it. There are 7 other dragons, and two that should be in already. get your act together Devs and make it happen. Releasing a pay to get dragon, was greedy and lazy. especially since you have had an abundance of time, to get the defaut dragons in game. get your act together

yeah... no.... imagine selling a DLC creature as one of your first playables with barely any content and an extremely, unnecessarily large, boring map with no landmarks and nothing interesting to look at. i get you can get nested in as an acid spitter drake if someone actually forked out cash to buy it, but you really had to go and limit the choices of playables with a paywall THIS EARLY into development? terrible move, if not absolutely greedy. i hate to stain my account by reviewing this game and out myself as a supporter but i deeply regret backing this project so far, thank god i didnt decide to do a higher tier LOL. the way development is handled is just tragic, just look at the developer responses to some of these reviews (youtube vids also highlight the main dev's temper tantrums very well too) and how they respond to criticism. i would talk more about the game but uhhh.... im afraid theres not much to talk about as most of the fun this game has comes from the hilarious lack of professionalism from the dev team, specifically jao. learned a valuable lesson from this game though, make sure you research the developer of a kickstarter project before you throw money at someone incapable.

the knock-off night fury is also a great touch, brings the entire kickstarter game scam together.

so yeah TL;DR only play this game if you have a nice pair of rose tinted glasses because the amount of red flags this game's development has would make nazi germany jealous, this game is screwed in the hands of these devs, only play if you enjoy dragon walking and dying simulator

SoI had this game wishlisted like 2 years ago. I didn't buy it because I wasn't willing to spend much on a very early game. Then a bunch of stuff happened with the game that most people have heard about. So I waited until the game at least looked half-decent which gets us here. Beta came out and I saw this update about a month after its release. I saw some videos of it and it looked way better than where it was a few years ago. So, I decided to buy the game. Was it the worst regret of my life?

No, the game isn't terrible, not bad at all actually. I did have some expectations and they were met. Is it a good game tho? Definitely not, at least not right now. All the plans they have are super cool but we have to wait and see how they implement them to really judge.

So why is this game still not a good game? There's not really much to do, at least playing by yourself. When there's only one ai creature as of now and a really boring end game system, it can get boring. That is kinda this genre's main problem though. The Isle can be super boring alone too, but DoD shines when playing with others and your friends. The clan system allows for interaction between factions and control over areas. Also having a group and playing as a pack can be very fun as well.

TLDR: If you have friends who are willing to play a half-decent game, then it's worth it now, but if you don't have friends who can play this game or aren't super social, then I'd probably wait for the full 1.0 Genesis update.

Now for a Pro-Con chart for the current beta

PROS

-Amazing sounds (some are unfinished though)
-Decent graphics
-Decent Optimization
-Shadow Scale (the dragon you can play without dlc) is very fun to fly around
-The growth system seems very natural and fun to grow up in
-Getting rare skins and genes from nesting is pretty cool
-Clan system and group system allow for a lot of interaction with other players

CONS

-This game can get very boring after you have grown to adult and aren't doing anything with clans
-Getting to elder dragon is a very boring grindy gameplay loop.
-Clans aren't that developed yet, there is no functionality besides talking in a clan chat and seeing your clan member names.
-Nesting can get boring after a bit, not sure how you would change that to not be boring, but there needs to be a way to upgrade your genes without nesting
-The map looks pretty basic, not super interesting to explore
-There is only one dragon to play as unless you wanna pay more for the acid spitter (obviously there will be more added in the future but rn, there's only two)

So, why review a game when it is still unfinished and in beta? Because people are paying $20 for a product, so it does deserve critique even now. However, it does deserve some praise for making it this far and for its exciting plans for the future.

I recommend this game rn people who will play with friends. For people who don't, I'd wait for another big update so that fixes can be made and more content and fun can be added.

It is a fun game, the flying is amazing but hard to get use to. I recommend it to anybody that is into survival games such as The Isle. I quit the game mainly because the players tend to kill you for no reason at all. I see a bright future in this game, I hope that helps you decide if you would like to buy it or not.

okey this game is seriously boring. The baby phase takes forever and you can't do anything during this whole time except dying of tirst or starve. If another adult dragon is kind enough to help you the only thing you can do is waiting for you to grow... four hours....
Wandering around in this gigantic map trying to find something to do is not fun.

The first thing I should point out is my hours played. Currently 174. That's a good bit of time to sink into a beta. So just to get to what you want to know. When you first join the game you are going to have a hard time. Food and water aren't easily identifiable and, there is no sniff mechanic to help you find it. (Devs are putting in a sniff mechanic). If you are on a PVE server it is going to be boring as hell and there is nothing to do. If you are on a PVP server you are going to get killed relentlessly. Even by admin (Not kidding). The admin join the largest most powerful clan on the server and they have no mercy. Don't try and tell them that it hurts the game image and they should fix it, they won't listen. If you are considering this game it is absolutely not new player friendly at all. You are going to die repeatedly. Right now it is a horrible toxic game. Don't buy it, don't download it. I am not kidding. If you insist on getting the game, choose my server The Purge, I will address all these issues on my server.

I granted myself two hours to play this game. Within those two hours, I could not once survive long enough to see anything this game proposes to offer. There is no scent mechanic in this game, which doesn't sound so bad until you realize there is no way to find water unless you have memorized their locations, or by sheer luck.

Similarly, finding food is an ordeal. The obvious solution in the developers mind appears to be that you kill other players and eat them, but that is not a viable solution if player pop is low. There exist mushrooms and ants that can be eaten, but I never once saw these mushrooms myself, and the ants require a decent amount of time to stealth up to, attack, and repeat until dead while managing your stamina. They then poison you when eaten, while giving a small amount of food. How to remove poison? Sleep, wasting valuable time you need to spend looking for water and food, or travelling back to them if you were lucky enough to find them in abundance.

I would talk about the rest of the game, but I was never able to reach it. So instead I'll talk about the sham of a character selection screen the game currently boasts. The first two dragons are actually not playable, even though they're selectable. This leaves ONLY the Shadow Scale to play, unless you'd like to also purchase the DLC so you can play the Acid Spitter. There are only two dragons, and that's only if you buy the DLC for an Early Access Game. I'd like you to reread my last sentence. Similarly, the Elementals are either locked behind some sort of endgame, or completely non-existant like the rest of the dragon lineup at the moment.

TLDR: Do not buy this game yet. No matter what any of the positive comments say, it is unpolished and very player unfriendly. While the concept is awesome, if you actually want to play a GAME like this, go for Beasts of Bermuda. This is barely more than a Beta Test.

To hard. You can only survive if someone takes care of your baby dragon self. You have no chance of solo'ing. Food (mushrooms) to rare a spawn. Water is in a puddle you drink from for hours collecting game time but not accomplishing anything because you are going to die when you run out of food. Even if you find a server where you get someone who cares enough to keep you alive then you have to learn to fly. Some people seem to get flying right away. Others of us never figure it out.

By the time you realize this game is to difficult you have gone past what Steam allows in gameplay hours so you cannot get a refund. Reworded, the game keeps you hoping you'll be able to play it long enough to take your money. Only a few people can play it so it looks legit. You'll loose your $20 to a game that is unplayably difficult. I've played a lot of survival games and a lot of flying games. I could not get the hang of this one. You don't figure this out until it is to late for the refund.

Finally, there isn't a lot of help. You try to ask for assistance on Reddit they downvote you. People push their discord servers on you, forcing you into relationships you were not wanting to jump into. Games should be playable without being forced to use discord against your will.

Yep, I went ahead and played this so you don't have to. I also haven't written that many reviews, so here we go.

I know this game has a controversial past, but as others have stated, and I believe as well: everyone should get a second chance. Plus I've had my eye on this game for a while.

Now, the actual qualities of the game. First off, graphics are really good. You can see each individual scale on your dragon, and the colors of the environment are nearly photo-realistic. I found myself genuinely amazed as I walked through the map and I could almost feel like I was in that forest myself.

I have some complaints about the mechanics and some praise for it. While touchy and a challenge to get the hang of, flying feels quite nice once mastered. It works just like you'd expect it to be if you were a baby dragon learning to fly; tricky, yet rewarding. You have to EARN your flight. I mostly learned through trial and error, but the players in chat were very helpful.

Now, one of my complaints is that it's very challenging to get to adulthood. I understand that's mostly the point, and as I also understand, a scent system may be worked in later. But currently there is none, and you survive by running along as a defenseless whelp, searching for mushrooms and water. As you get older you get hungry and thirsty slower, but as a baby, you are far too slow to afford getting lost. If you wander too far in the wrong direction, you won't get back to food before you starve. I managed to barely get by while playing solo, but there were some very close calls. You could probably have an easier time playing with friends who have grown dragons, but I was just playing to see how the controls felt. I made it, regardless, so it can definitely be done.

One thing I wish this game had was a gliding mechanic, because as a baby being slow is a cripple. Maybe depending on how much stam you have and how much altitude you have, you could glide farther, and gradually get better control as you age.

Other than that, overall this game feels very nice. When the ambience is working, it adds to the suspense, especially the sound of creaking trees. And the calls are just chilling. Night vision is akin to that of legacy Isle. Battles are pretty janky and the fireball is hard to aim. I got into a fight as a juvie against an acid spitter and a shadow scale, and actually ending up dying from crash landing multiple times as I tried to escape them. It felt pretty realistic though, I wasn't mad.

I see a lot of potential in this game, it's got great bones. I can't wait to see what new creatures and features come next.

I'm honestly disappointed. Almost an hour in and I can't even join a server long enough to be able to move the hatchlings around. When you do theres no food or anything to interact with.

People still defend it but no developer that gets that much money should behave like this.

As someone that spent 16 hours a day learning how to make art, music, and code for my own game, seeing a developer this despicable is a slap in the face. I only played this because some of my players wanted to hang out in it.

This game has a lot of potential and is a really neat idea. The problem however lies in the decisions made regarding purchases. This game is not abandonware like some people think, but it is however, at this point, a cash grab.

To explain, some people backed this game a long time ago, paying more than the cost of the base game. This was to get additional content, such as the acid spitter drake. Now people who already backed it and already got the acid spitter have to pay for it again. Anyone who owned the acid spitter drake already has to repurchase it. This is on top of them already having released the OST for purchase a while back when the game is nowhere near finished.

I defended this game a lot way back when it was super new, but I just can't anymore. They're slowly but surely just throwing in purchases for people in order to suck in more money while progress is painfully slow. The process is being so agonizingly drawn out while trying to gain additional money from people over time. While people were able to play the acid spitter during the open beta, now we have to buy it first if we want to play. I'm sorry, but it's just not an open beta if you have to shell out extra money just to be able to participate. If you've purchased a game and there's an open beta then you should be able to participate in said open beta, not get locked out behind a cash wall.

Honestly, I wouldn't be shocked on any level if when the game does (if ever) see a full release they force people to repurchase the entire game all over again. This behavior is absurd and entirely unjustified when you look at countless other early access games and how they operate. DoD even got a fantastic head start by garnering a huge amount of attention and financial backing before it even began, absolutely shattering any expected goals from when it was first posted, earning half a million dollars before we ever even got to play. Ever since, it's just been continuous slow progress accented by additional purchases.

Don't bother. Wait until the devs (hopefully) smarten up and stop trying to milk every dollar they can for a bare bones early access with an open beta behind a pay wall.

this game is one of the worst gaming experiences ever for me. i pay 20$ for a early access game not exacting to much since its in early access. I hop on and see all the (upcoming) feature's in the game and are meet with a very boring spawn screen and click on wyvern hatch out and walk around then cant find any food then die. I respawn again look up how to get food and i start growing, over time it became boring no people no nothing. honestly i have had some good experiences had some fun but thats around 10% of the time. Ok lets take The Isle for example, The Isle came out with the renewed version of its game with new animations and everything it also worked 90% of the time but what did the day of dragon devs do, put out a DLC dragon for 7$ not even add it into the main game but a beta branch that doesnt even work. I'm sorry wait no i'm not, i will not be playing this game until it is good, do not buy this game (cant believe they are adding DLC dragons that cost 5-7$ each to a 20$ early access game that barely is functional reminds me EA).

Do NOT buy, at least not until they insert actual, playable custom-made dragons, as well as assets and their planned elementals. Currently, the game is something you can assemble by yourself, provided you have money to spare on the Unity asset store.

I was part of the group that actually backed this game in kickstarter..nothing they promised was eve given, and even now still the game is lacking, little player base..you still encounter glitches that have you fall through rocks. Good luck reaching an adult when the AI can two or one shot you, making trying to make any progress in this game impossible.. don't waste your breath

Eh. The game has potential, but the creators might want to think of not falsely advertising stuff. A good example is how they say the elementals are playable, yet they're clearly not. The game does not include a lot of what steam advertises.

Many if not all playable dragons are locked behind paid DLC to access and or OG backer from the kickstarter tiers. Those that are playable are basic assets that are copy pasted into a dull environment with no gameplay to speak of. Thought the game has been out for nearly two years development has been slow to make any significant progress to call this a playable beta and or game. I wish the best to those developing the game but for what it is at its current state I would not recommend this game.

I srsly don't wanna hate bc it looked so promising, but it rly is disappointing so far. Purchased the game since kickstarter, today I decided to check it out and I was surprised by the lack of players. I still tried to play it, but already got bored after 15min. It's a survival game, but not rly user friendly in how it is introducing the game mechanics and goals to you. Also there are not rly survival tasks... nothing... in the game. You walk and fly, sometimes snack on a leech, that's it. The only thing that held me there was the user chat thanks to some funny players, but it was clear that we had literally nothing to do...

I am one of the kickstarter backers that was scammed.
$500,000 should've been more than enough to develop the game. I see little to no progress in the years that have passed since I backed this game. I have played free roblox games with the same premise and more content. It seems like it might be fun for a couple hours, when you see the trailers, but trust me. It's not worth it. It's disgusting that they're planning for most of the species in this game to be DLC. It's a step up from being a damn gacha game. Don't support this creator.

I mean.. It's been almost 2 years since its Kickstarter and nothing really changed.
Just some promises, concept arts and models throughout this whole time.

I've dabbled into game development and i have never seen progress so slow, such as here.
Considering the amount of funding they received (Over half a million dollars) we should be seeing a whole different game which we aren't.

In fact i can name multiple free-non-profit projects which are being developed at a much faster rate which far exceed this one in terms of graphics, models, animation, design etc.

My patience is over with this one.

Shallow project with no passion to show.

i am highly disappointed, i had followed this game for a very long time, bought it on release and had some fun at first. i fully understood the lack of content back then, but i uninstalled because it got boring very fast.
redownloaded today to see how far it has come, and it is still exactly the same, same empty map, same super long growth time, and still 0 things to do until you get big enough to fly around, and even then all you do is fly around, maybe getting some pvp. until they start filling the game with content i do NOT recommend purchasing this game. it has all the potential of becoming a great survival game, but it is not progressing at all.

Truely a waste of money.
After a huge kick starter success, the thing you download doesn't even deserve to be called a game. So lets just call it a download.
I've owned this download for a year now. And in that year the developer has only proven to be shady and lacking any real developer skills.
All the assets in the game, from the maps, to the dragons, to the animations are all store bought assets from the unity store, put together to form what is literally just a walking simulator.
You spend the first 45 mins of the game, trying to survive as a hatchling. You're only option for food seems to be leeches, which if your not carefull can outrun you and kill you almost instantly.
After those first 45 mins you become a sub adult and gain the ability to fly. Which would be great if there was anything to fly. The map is a generic sand map from the unity store. Theres nothing but vasat amounts of sand dunes. And 3 oasis. All of which have nothing but some water, leeches for food, and some trees. You spend your time flying back and forth from one to the other for no reason other then boredome. And Since theres no in game minimap, you can get lost real easily.
Unless another player shows you the way to each oasis, you will die of starvation or thirst when you get lost in the vast nothingness.
And if you live long enough to become an adult, you get a fire breath ability. Horay.

The developer hasn't even touched the 'game' in the last year. Its still the same, stale, awful scam that it always was.
Oh and the 'sand worm' and 'yellow dinosaurs' that were added are again just ripped from the unity store.
Same with the portal to the Red woods.
Another generic map thats easy to get lost on and is awful to navigate because dragons and tree's dont mix.

The very fact people backed this game at higher tiers expecting to receive the Dragons and skins that there money purchased, Only to have the developer then state that he was releasing those dragons and skins as in game purchases tells you alot about the con man sat behind this 'game'

Backed this on kickstarter. The $20 turned out to be for front row seats to this shitshow of a game and developers, not for a game. Would have refunded it ages ago, except that was made impossible very quickly. To summarize; this isn't even the prettiest scam on Steam, and all the concept art in the world won't change that, Jao, licensed or not. I await my ban on the official Discord for saying as much here.

This game somehow topped the Isle for worst simulator dev team. Slow as shit to develop it and nothing they said has come to pass yet. Game is boring as shit to play even with friends right now and just is not worth it

Where do i begin with Day of Dragons. Lets start off with SAVE YOUR MONEY TILL ITS READY. I cannot believe they are selling this. Here are the issues
1.) Hardly anyone playing
2.) the dragons fall through solid ground
3.) A worm is more powerful than a baby dragon.
4.) By the time your healed your attacked by a worm and die
5.) You have no clue what to do when you first start
6.) Graphics are BAD BAD BAD. THey may look great but once you get into game its a whole different story.
7.) The start is EXTREMELY BORING. You hatch out of an egg, you run around (cause you cannot fly yet) you attack lampreys in the water or they attack you, you die rince and repeat. ORyou hatch out of an egg, you run around(cause you cannot fly yet) you attack a lamprey you lose a lot of health you eat it, you sleep your health does not regen to full, your hungry again, you go out there is a bigger lamprey you die.) This is the cycle right now.

Now, does the game have potential. YES DEFINITELY. But this is NOT enough for me to recommend at this time. Im annoyed at myself for buying this on sale. I am however intrigued as to how they are going to make this better so im not going to request a refund BUT I WAS SOOO CLOSE. Because even games in alpha you dont fall through a rock and cant move...Well except ARK....But they fixed that. KINDA.

Also this game has been in alpha waay to long 2017 i think i saw a post. Too long...

This game has not lived up to any of the promises made in the year since its launch. All models and maps are bought and not made by them like they had claimed. The amount of dragons have not increased and there are only 3. This game is not worth the money,

its been over a year since i purchased this game and im very dissapointed, i would have expected some achievement but to no suprise its just the same as it was last year, still store bought models, very glitchy basically everything is store bought and is not worth the money its set to.

so i wouldn't reccomend at all

Don't waste your money. This is just a walking simulator, and you have to wait at least 45 minutes in game before you can fly (if I remember correctly). Just go out and inform yourself, there are several videos who put cold hard facts out there. I don't trust the genesis update will be anything special, either.

It's been a full year since this game(walking simulator) first came out after I backed on Kick-starter. I've held off reviewing until now to give it a chance and sadly I am still as disappointed as I was when the game first went live.

I understand game dev takes time but when a game gets backed at over 500k I expected a little bit more after a year in Alpha. Even the simplest things like how to play, goals and an explanation of the HUD are still absent. I originally had to turn to community guides to even figure out how to keep my dragon alive as no guidance can be found in the game or anywhere official.

In addition, after a full year this game(walking simulator) still feels terribly empty. When there are no other players on the server, which as I am writing this review there are only 50 people playing TOTAL on all servers I can see, the world is empty. With no other players there are some leaches around the oasis I spawned at and beyond that its just miles and miles of desert.

I am also disappointed that there is still no single player mode after a year. It perhaps would have been a better idea to perfect the single player game before taking on the much harder challenge of making a multiplayer game.

Controlling your dragon is lackluster. It feels kind of like driving a truck with a broken axle on an ice skating rink regardles of if you use keyboard or game pad.

I will continue to update this review as time goes on but as of right now I regretfully cannot recommend this dragon walking simulator. I have hope that with more time things will improve but I still wish the devs had taken the route so many other games that have successfully launched on kick starter have taken. Releasing a game, not an overly hyped tech demo.

There was not much to do in it and it felt very rushed and forced i when i got it it i thought i would be a good game like ark or other survival games like that but no it was much worse and i know thre is a massive update coming to the game but i don't have high hopes for it

in it's current state i honestly have to agree with all other reviews in its not good

this game attracted my attention because it is in effect all about dragons and i love the very idea of this mythical race of creatures so when i tried it out i was sorely disappointed i find that his has similar issue that the isle suffers from

the devs i believe have done things well out of order the first thing they should have concentrated on is doing a single player mode instead of going straight into a multiplayer setting.

if i had decided to do a game like this i'd have started with single-player first and worked from there creating in the following order
1.maps to start
2. adding to the map forrests grasslands deserts rivers mountains lakes ponds and shrubbery making sure nav meshes are set up properly so players can't fall through what should be solid objects such as big arse boulders or going through trees
3,create the dragon models
4. create the animations for the dragon models
5. create huntable and eatable creatures and animation of varying sizes from animals as small as a mouse to animals as big as an elephant or giraffe

only then would ihave released the game in an early access point to get player opinions and learn what could be done better were mistakes have been made to be rectified and only once players seem content would i start concidering the idea of taking it into an online setting and then build upon what i had already made using single player to test new releases and bringing them to online when the feel of them is right,

its a pity that they have done it backwards and from what i've been reading there may be very little hope for this game and like the isle seems to be a waste of £15.50.

look at gta 5 when it first released it did not have an online element from the get go instead rockstar perfected gta 5's story mode before they concidered an online element the online game came months later once they were happy with story and players had time to complete the story day of dragons should have followed this example

this game is little bit disappointing, when i bought it i was expecting a awesome progression dragon game with lots of cool dragons because unlike dinosaurs u can make up dragons so the combination is endless. But instead what i got is a still a good progression game but with 4 dragons yea...4 4 dragons is all there are as of now 1 wyvern 1 fire dragon 1 small ass usless dragon and a plasma one that goes invisible. This isnt very much for 50 people to be on a server everyone is the same and must i mention the lack of people official servers are on 0 people 7 days a week. and the only unofficial server that people play on had 7 people max on it. 3 of them are admins the game is just under developed and not finished. after maybe 50 hours you will have played with all the dragons and thats the game done im very unimpressed

I really wanted this to be good, I really really did. I did my research, read about the game from the devs, read reviews, watched gameplay, everything I thought was needed to form a good opinion. But in the end I decided to give the game a try despite literally every source I found screaming at me to stay clear. All i can say is I should have listened. Do not spend money on this game. Literally anything else will be a better investment. Hell, throwing your money into a fire would be better than buying this game. Because that way the greedy good for nothing Devs cant lie to your face so they can have it instead.

This is the first game on Steam that I have written a review on where I would straight up not recommend it to anyone. I supported this game back in Kickstarter and frankly spent way too much considering what the game is and what progress has been made. Maybe -MAYBE- in the future this can still turn out to be a decent game, and if that happens I will try it, but I have a feeling that it will be many years in the future with perhaps a questionable quality, seeing as the developer seem devoted to make the game on his own and therefure refuse to hire other team members to help him in his project. As it is now I would definitely wait until there's either a larger development team with more experience, or just until there's at least some content to the game, as there's currently not a lot to do as it currently is.

I wish I read the reviews...

It's my own fault for falling for this awful game. I've had the game for a little under 24 hours, and already I'm so disappointed. I wanted to like it so badly, as I've been following updates for so long. I finally decided to grab a copy for myself, since I absolutely love games like this. I waited around to grow to the appropriate flight stage, then flew around the main desert map. It's so incredibly BORING. There's nothing to do! To my knowledge, there's no map. You just kinda fly around blindly. Please for the love of god, do NOT waste your money here. Until there's a major update to mechanics, layout, ect., you will not see me back.

For the love of God, do not buy this game. I kept silence for so long thinking the game maybe needs time like the Isle to become a proper game even with bugs in it, but the dev itself is so incompetent. The world is still empty, glitchy and literally unplayable apart of afk for grow and flying around the empty desert. If you insist to buy it in the future let me know if its good by leaving good review

Such a disappointment. With all the resources the team were given, you would have thought it would be more than a Dragon Walking and Eventually Starving Simulator, but that's honestly all it is at this state.
'Multiple biomes' is a lie, and the 'large open sandbox' is a literal desert with some rocks and a few oasis spawn points. What a waste of money.

EDIT: I was a Kickstarter backer and was incredibly excited for this game, played it upon the first chance I got, and gave it a few chances, but the attitude of Jao and the overall lack of effort into the game is abysmal.

I decided to ignore the god awful reviews and try out the game for myself, and dear god this is the most unplayable garbage ive ever had the misfortune to play. the models are lowpoly, the Map is bare and barren, theres a playerbase of like 10 people maximum and overall the whole system is one big steaming pile of crap. you cant actually fly until you reach a certain growth (By the way, theres no way to check your growth in a nice menu or anything, you have to type /growth in a chat for gods sake) and until then youre stuck on the ground moving at a snails pace. 9/10 times youll just get kekked by another dragon twice your size whos most likely a mod of the server whos just grown himself. genuine worst game ive ever played.

Oh my lord its so bad. Just moving and looking around feels horrible. It shouldnt be early access. I ignored the negative reviews for this game cause the pictures looked great but its just as bad as they wrote. Asking for a refund right now.

The game takes a while to build up. with no way to see your progress of your growth, It would be nice to see that but also it took almost 2 hours just to be able to fly and by that point i lost my will to play. its very glitchy and i can't blame it since it says early access but while i was waiting for the game to allow me to fly i tried looking for any future plans like new biomes new dragons like gameplay of the new dragons and not just concept art that has been out for months but not added to the game. it seems like it can be good with a lot of work but right now its underwhelming

If you want to gang tea bagged and have five to six people just kill you for laughs I do not suggest this game.

I have waited for the kick starter updates on this game when it started and have seen little change. There are three main ponds that a group of six to three will go to and from just killing adult dragons with out time to react or tea bagging them due to the fact you can not defend your self from there numbers.

To sum up this game your either waiting forever to grow to even fly or you are being killed by some board individual or individuals that has nothing better to do due to the lack of amusing or challenging AI.
the desert is yes fun to track but lacks places to hide from bullies. making it hard to make playing the game fun or what seems worth while.

I have spent 27 hours playing this game after I reinstalled it and I still find the game just as dull as before.
With but one thing. It added one dragon after what seems to be a year... It seems.
Granted the Red woods are beautiful but the map is vary limited with now just has one spot added for food that I have found.
The desert though it has the three pods dose have vary few other amusing locations but seem basic. These places either hold place for a AI that is stationary or Dead place holders that are nothing more then amusing to look at of what could have been.

I have had high hopes for the game but I am saddened in its lack of development and content after its release and seeing what the kick starter had made with a lack of outcome.
Its nice looking but I question if it was even worth buying.

I'm a kickstarter backer and I was very excited for this game. I gave it benefit of the doubt for a while, however it hasn't made basically any progress and the update thread has been dead for a couple months. The map is glitchy, there is really not much of a way to navigate through locations. It is nice to sit and chat with people but aside from that there isn't anything to do.

$300. I bought this for all of my friends and now I'm the laughingstock of my friend group. I was really hyped, really happy for this game... and now we haven't gotten any genuine updates in a long, LONG time. Where is the animator that was promised? The developer is paying himself that CEO wage. Then he's leaving. My heart and soul are practically shattered and my disappointment is immeasurable. Quite literally, having to tab back in here, seeing that NOTHING HAS CHANGED has ruined my day. I just want a good dragon game.

Not to mention, the discord has some crazy pervert who advocates for a PG-13 discord-- and this discord bans almost every swear-- and this developer advocates for all of this-- while going out of their way to talk about piss, feet, and going into detail about their fat fetish. What the FUCK is going on?

Don't waste your money.

This game allows you to play as a dragon, starting as a hatchling and growing to an adult. You unlock certain abilities when you hit certain growth markers, and in the meantime, you get to explore and hunt. Sounds great, right?

Wrong. The growth is time-based rather than effort-based, and during the first stage there's nothing whatsoever to do. You spawn beside a tiny oasis in a vast sand dune desert, with no map and so little movement speed that you genuinely can't accomplish anything by leaving the oasis. There is one other type of creature in the world: leeches, which you can't reliably kill at this stage before they kill you. Getting killed resets your growth completely. There are no other apparent sources of food (was able to trigger eating animation on some plants but they didn't seem to fill the hunger bar.) So there's nothing to explore, nothing your level to fight, nothing to gather or interact with, and no way to speed up your growth timer. Genuinely the best use of your time is sitting in one spot hoping you reach the next stage of growth before you starve. We aren't talking a few minutes here; we're talking roughly one to two hours.

But at least when you level up, you get some new abilities, right? Yes, your hits get a bit stronger, and now you can hunt leeches. This refills your hunger bar, but it gets boring, and you still can't go anywhere. So once again, the best use of your time outside a small amount of leech hunting is sitting still and waiting for your next stage of growth. This is another hour or two.

And then, finally! This stage gives you FLIGHT! So now you can go places, right? You struggle with the controls a little, figure out how to soar up into the air, and--all you can see is desert. There's nothing to aim for. There's nowhere to go. There's a vast landscape of empty sand dunes, and that's all.

I asked some more experienced players about locations in the game. They said there were five: three oasis spawn points, a graveyard, and a forest. The rest is empty desert. You can count the number of creatures on one hand. There's nothing to explore. There are no tasks, quests, activities, puzzles, achievements, opportunities for collecting or crafting--and, since the game is so empty, there are few if any people logging on, so you may not even see other dragons. It's a monumentally disappointing, useless, empty game.

And if you made it far enough to discover that, congratulations: you now can't get a refund. Steam only grants refunds if you have less than two hours of playtime. It takes longer than that to get the ability to navigate the world and discover that it's totally empty. I suspect it was designed to take that long on purpose.

Don't waste your money on Day of Dragons. Calling it a game in the first place is a stretch.

Supported this game and gave some $ while still on Kickstarter.
Right now i'm extremely dissapointed about it and it's developers. Waste of time, money and most of all promises. Such an unfinished product does not belong in Steam.

No tutorial on how to play the game. The controls and UI are not intuitive. When you die you re-spawn as a hatchling, so that's hardcore mode always on. When I tried to search the web for a play through or any information, I was greeting with a ton of bad publicity. Refund requested.

I was a part of the Kickstarter of this game, I was excited to play a game where you get to be the dragon. The sad thing is that this game is very barren and empty. There's almost nothing to do so far and I'm not sure there will be for a long time. I'm disappointed at how bad this game is right now and I hope that it has some major fixes. If you're considering buying the game, wait. In its current state, it can hardly be considered a game and is not worth the cost right now.

Unfortunately, I have to give this game a negative review. While the community in-game so far is great, the actual game itself is boring. There's almost nothing to do in it. You eat, drink, fly, and maybe battle other dragons. While this sounds epic, they made it not. Eating, drinking, etc. is extremely tedious, and it takes forever for your dragon to reach full-size. At lower levels (before flight), it is so tedious to go back and forth that you'll want to pull your hair out. After you unlock flying, it's easier, but the bars go down quickly enough to where, most of the time, you're simply flying back and forth. Battling other dragons is tedious, as the controls while in flight are difficult to handle. The worlds in-game are extremely barren of, well, anything. The only other creatures in-game so far are other player-controlled dragons. To get from one area with water and food to the next takes literal hours, during which you'll likely starve or dehydrate. If you do die, you respawn as a baby again, resetting your progress entirely and making you have to go through the entire, tedious process again of growing up. That's basically what happens in-game. Everything takes forever. According to other comments, they're pushing DLCs and such already as well, despite the game being in extremely early access. Perhaps if the game improves, it would be worth it to buy it. Currently, this game isn't worth any money at all. I'd recommend staying away from it until it improves, if it ever does. I doubt it, though.

There is no game here. A couple stock Unreal asset dragons and minor animations, an essentially dead world devoid of much of interest, No persistence from session to session. Nobody logs in anymore, there is nothing to do.

When i first heard about this game i was pretty damn excited, since I've lived for dragons and dinosaurs since i was younger, and i already own The Isle and had been wondering about a dragon game similar to it for a while. I got it as soon as it was released and to be fair it was fun at first. I mainly played on a single server for around a week or two, leading groups of 20+ players across the desert to explore and navigate. It was honestly extremely fun and beautiful watching so many dragons flying together, like a scene from HTTYD. I made close friends in the game, met someone who is now very important to me, and generally had a good time. However, that is probably all the good that came from this game. From the start the idea of paying to play as different dragon species seemed questionable and a bit gross, as well as what had happened before the game was even released and the drama that continues to this day. Getting the game was only worth it for me because I met someone who i now love. It's buggy, probably shouldn't have been released when it was, and needed constant attention of in-game server admins who had to help people almost every 2 seconds. It is, as I've seen someone describe it as, a dumpster fire. The game has went from an average of 200+ players a day to barely scraping double digits over the entire server list. To top it off, the developer is all over the place and creates constant issues. I will hold out the hope that this game will improve one day, but until then i do not recommend you purchase and play this game unless you want to be disappointed.

What can I say. I did not buy this game via the Kickstarter. I was approached by a discord moderator and asked if I would like to purchase a key someone else did not pay for....they had a lot of them. There was a push to sell them off before the release to the public. I fell for it and sent $30 via Paypal to the developer. I say developer loosely. I now believe you must have some sort of proven portfolio to take this title on.
Game releases and I install it on day one. A few Pokemon type dragons and an Oasis. Nothing to hunt but pop out the egg to be eaten seconds later. This happened over and over again for a few days. A few times I got stuck in the ground or into the hillside. A variety of other bugs. Too many to list. A patch comes out. Not much has changed. Still about 30 minutes total time in game. A little more time when a frustrated streamer decided to start his own server so people could check things out. More reactive admin staff to help when you got stuck. Bored for sure. It more of a social application were people chat and grow a Pokemon dragon and make freaky noises. Finally decided I tried the game and uninstalled. Reached out to Paypal to start a case for refund. Some bantering back in forth with someone from DOD. Eventually PayPal I suspect being unfamiliar with how wanna be games work decided in favor of the crook that grabbed my $30 and gave me a social networking app with Pokemon dragons. I'm disappointed for sure.
