Mit Dark Void erblickt ein neues Sci-Fi-Action-Adventure das Licht der Welt, das packende Luft- und Boden-Shoot-outs miteinander verbindet. Als Schauplatz dient ein Paralleluniversum, das "The Void" genannt wird. Spieler schlüpfen in die Rolle von Will, einem Piloten, der unter unglücklichen Umständen auf einem Routineflug mit seinem Fracht-Flugzeug im Bermuda-Dreieck abstürzt.

Seitdem ist er gefangen in "The Void". Ein fast auswegloser Überlebenskampf bahnt sich an, bei dem Will als unfreiwilliger Held zum Anführer Gruppe der "Survivors" avanciert. Inmitten dieses Paralleluniversums führen diese Kämpfer einen Krieg gegen eine mysteriöse Alienrasse, die eine ernste Bedrohung für die gesamte Welt darstellt. (capcom)

Invalid serial Key
Does anyone know how to fix this issue? I purchased this from steam, launch the game and an activation window pops up. I put in the CD key from my steam window and it says the serial key is invalid.

Spiel kann nicht Aktiviert werden!

Steam verkauft zwar das Spiel, aber verweist den Fehler an SecuROM weiter.

Ich kann nur den Kauf des Spieles abraten, um unnötigen Ärger zusparen.

Das Spiel ist ein gar nicht mal so schlechtes Science-Fiction Spiel mit einem tollen Mix aus Action-Adventure und Flugspiel, die dank des Raketengürtels fliessend übereinander übergehen.
Das Spielgeschehen ist interessant, die Grafik gut. Alles in allem macht das Spiel eigentlich nichts verkehrt. Lediglich die Spieldauer ist mit 8 Stunden enttäuschend gering (Wobei es recht günstig ist, im Sale für 2,50 auf jeden Fall empfehlenswert!). Aber Spaß hat es auf jeden Fall gemacht. Mal was anderes.

Verdammt JA, du hast nen Jetpack!
Und verdammt NEIN! Die Steuerung ist grausam!

GAMEPAD PFLICHT!

Das Spiel war echt interessant, auch wegen dem Jetpack ;3

Allerdings kann ich absolut nicht zielen mit dem Gamepad und alle Quicktime events konnten nur mit dem Gamepad ausgeführt werden.. Das hat das Spiel leider schlechter darstehen als es eigentlich ist.
- Wenn ihr mit dem Gamepad zielen könnt. Auf auf! Das ist ein schönes Spiel!

This game is lovely. never got to play it on console, so this was a real treat, it's only 6 hours long, but at 10 bucks, totally worth it. when you boot the game up ignore the long unlock code crap, and just copy and paste the steam product key into the box. it crashed at a short cutscene early in the game, but I could skip it, so it was fine. The game is a joy to play, I highly recommend it.

My experience with Dark Void in 2022. Play five minutes crash. Play 5 more minutes crash. 5 more another crash. Mess with some settings. Two minutes then crash. Literally unplayable on modern systems. And since nobody else seems to like the game I couldn't find any patches to fix said crashing. I only bought this game tbh for a youtube video im making on bad games. And I couldn't even do that. Plus the game itself is extremely generic by all accounts. Overall 1/10

Excellent semi-brainless fun, flying around and getting shooty shooty with space invaders. I like the art style and the little Tesla-punk (similar but different from steampunk) world they've built.

The story and really a lot of the gameplay is kind of on rails but it's still a good time. Jet packs are ALWAYS awesome.

For What it's worth, This game is actually really fun. Sure, it's rough around the edges at times but it's worth a shot.
Flying around with a jetpack is very satisfying and contrary to popular opinions, I for one have fun with the ground combat.

The soundtrack delivered by Bear Mcreary is gorgeous and aside from Dark Void Zero, which I played 10 years ago, is what spurred me into getting this underrated gem of a game.

An absolutely underrated gem. Flying around in the jetpack is so much fun and it's great being able to highjack enemy craft as well. This is a very fun shooter and I've played it so many times on console. I can't recommend this enough.

Although the game has nice ideas, the gameplay is very boring and the combat is generic. The jetpack is hard to control, too, moving like a lost missile.

[b] Well played between 2017 and ended in 2018, i may say it's a very good classic game, Not so much thing to say i guess, get it if you are interested and into oldschool games, the graphics and weapons are pretty good for time when it come out - 2010

Maybe the one problem is that you can have with flying/driving any plane but you can adjust the settings and fix this, or if you think right should get joystick USB for better experience

i do yes recommend the game, but also check out some videos on youtube and see if you are really interested, if you are good oldschool and looking for classic games im pretty sure that you won't regret to this great game released in 2010

Dark Void consists of shooting enemies on the ground, flying with a jetpack or a plane and platforming. Dark Void had some potential, but it doesn't do much with anything and felt like a mediocre experience overall.

Dark Void comes with two big shortcomings:

1. Besides of Steam, Dark Void is using another DRM called SecuRom, which doesn't make sense. Right-click on Dark Void in your libary -> manage -> CD keys to see your CD key you can use for the registration window.

2. the flying controls are hit or miss

decent 3rd person shooter. not groundbreaking, not bad. story is okay. pretty quick game. If you're just looking for stuff to shoot, this is pretty good.

(It's under Thumbs Up because there's no middle ground to go with the title, with that said...)

I was one of the very few people who really loved the concept of the Rocketeer as an interdimensional space alien shooter way back when this game came out and I didn't finish the game back then because I thought it was a kinda generic shooter, sadly, I still think this is true but with a few points up.

The real GREAT, standout things about this game is easily the OST and how incredible it feels to fly in this game, the issue is everything around it falls to the wayside very quickly. The visuals (if you saw my screenshots and thought the game looked good - keep in mind, my game was under HEAVY use of ReShade for improvements to textures and lighting) look very generic and honestly pretty bad even for it's time. There's a distinct lack of consistency between models - example: Will and Ava's models look very good, finely textured and detailed but in contrast, random NPCs look very blocky and the textures look very muddled.

My biggest issue with this game however, is how much it seems to just drag too much on specific fights, there's also a very clear issue with consistency in difficulty; example, the Archon boss fight at the start of the game, if you don't move out from the laser in time, he won't kill you unless you actively stay there taking damage, but a few missions down the line, it'll one shot you no matter what, there's also a big issue where enemies just randomly become godlike crackshots that never miss and the game doesn't do a very good job telling you where you're taking fire from, which leads to the even WORSE issue - the game just straight up does not tell you where grenades are not coming from, and it got me killed quite a few times, because for some reason, the explosion field from the nades will also cause you to go slow.

In short, it's a fun experience worth playing through atleast once but that's just it, you definitely won't be playing this game more than once. It's not the worst game ever like reviews in the past say it is, but it's also not a hidden gem by any means. I loved Will's design and the sick OST, but literally everything around it is either generic, inconsistent or just over stays it's welcome. Game gets a 6.5 / 10 from me.

Before you get to far into this review I should say I might have a slight bias to this game as my cousin was one of the main devs on this game.

With that said this game is actually a hidden gem in my eyes. The story and the characters are meh at best. But the combat is where this game absolutes shines! Being able to switch between dog fighting and ground combat is super clean and honestly something that Anthem tried to pull off years later and failed at. Go into this game with an open mind and just be excited for the crazy fun combat.

Now besides the best and worst part of this game. It does have some very very pretty landscapes, of course its 2010 graphics but being able to fly around the environment and then switch to hovering mode and take out targets or just look at the sunset is really really impressive.

This was one of the games I remember seeing for the 360 in every second hand game store, always around £1.
Some people had problems with the installation which I didn't, other's have said this is the worst 3rd person shooter they have played(are we forgetting Kane and Lynch exists?) either they have played like 3 or they are being hyperbolic.

This Is a fun short 3rd person shooter, the game really shines when you are flying through the sky with your rocketpack enjoying dogfights, it's a shame the the dogfights are too few and far between, the story is silly but it was fine to kill a few hours on.

For the price it's certainly worth it, for any less than the selling price i'd say it's a must play.

Cmon, I flew through the sky, landed and punched a robot in the face. Where else will you get to do that?

A surprisingly delightful aerial combat action game for the most part. The default flight control is finicky and awkward, but the game has the wonderful foresight of having rebindable keys for your controller. Once the control is set, the lengthy dog fights between the game's many vast albeit samey looking canyons are simply a joy to experience.

Review: Dark Void

“Dark Void” is a third-person TPS shooter that mostly exploit the possibility to freely fly around the world using your jetpack. It has very good gameplay, composed of a mix of quick-time events, ground fps sections, and flying TPS sections. And despite the low number of weapons, it is almost never boring.

The highest defect of this game is that it seems to be made with a low budget. The effort put in the flying sessions and the level design is not comparable to the one put in the rest of the game, ground sections, storytelling, weapons, etc.

It is, by the way, a very good game, that probably just opened the way to other games that exploit a similar mechanic (Anthem can be a pretty clear example). Despite the low score of critics and users, Dark Void is funny and sometimes also epic. It is worth playing and trying, and a remastered version of it would probably be awesome.
Probably it was the right game at the wrong time, nowadays with our computational power, could have been awesome.

To be recovered if you have the possibility.

A very underrated that isn't bad but it has some problems with controls.

Flying with mouse and keyboard is horrendous, but with gamepad its fine.
Shooting with gamepad is horrendous, but with keyboard and mouse its fine.

So unless you have both plugged into the PC, you will find the controls frustrating enough to quit.

But underneath the clunky controls, there is surprisingly a good amount of creativity in the story that is certainly lacking in today's AAA games.

UPDATE: I feel I need to update this review. Capcom has finally decided to fix the problem after 2 years. I played and completed the game. It was average. :( I will leave my original review up because it was part of my gaming experience and no gamer should have to go through so many hoops just to play a game they bought.

What the fuck is this? Ok so I'll just check for a solution online...here we go...

In order to get the game to work:
A) Create a support ticket http://shop.capcom.com/store/capcomus/Content/pbPage.CapcomSupport2
B) Provide them with your key and proof of purchase
C) Wait
D) Wait more
E) Wait for confirmation that they key has been added, and launch the game.

Conclusion

I don't care if this game is the best videogame ever made in existence, in order to get it to work, you have to contact either capcom and/or securom and provide proof of purchase to get a valid serial key. This is just pathetic, Valve should remove this game or capcom should actually fix the problem.

Just to be clear, I am not the only one having this problem judging from all the reviews and the discussions on the forums. If you buy this piece of crap you do so at your own risk.

I'm actually pretty upset about this game not being playable. I had a copy of it for PS3 a few years ago, and it was mildly entertaining to fly around. The story isn't great in the least bit, but it has fun aspects to it. Well due to 3rd party DRM, I can't even play the game I purchased for nostalgia. 0/10 do not buy unless you plan on throwing away money.

The game is short, starts slow, and has a crummy story. Definitely not worth what it went for at release.

However, the stuff that was good was actually really good (the jetpack dogfights) and I'd say that that alone justifies the dirt-cheap price it's going for now. Just be aware that you'll have to suffer some mediocrity.
