1. Unique Theme and Genre
The game constitutes of a unique objet which is vampire in the near future and this differentiates Dark Eden from the other MMORPGs.The game has modern horror fantasy background through combination of heroism, middle-age fantasy and SF future atmosphere.

2. Battle between races based on and well-made scenario
You can choose race freely from Vampire, Slayer and Ousters who fight with each other. Small-size conflicts between races occur for delicate turf war. Further, large-scale war between races which seems to be strategic enough and siege warfare between guilds occurs inAdam’s shrine.

3. Differentiated characteristics of races
Vampire and Ousters use level system while Slayer uses skill system. Each race has unique growth system, item configuration, sill and class. Vehicles including motorcycle, helicopter, bat and warp tunnel, shylph jam, horn of spirit of land enablecharacters to move on map quickly and spells are provided that each race has its own merit and drawback.

4. Change in stats according to time
Changes in day and night are not limited to vision and background scene but affect stats of each race according to the time. Vampires become stronger in the night while Slayers and Ousters become stronger during day.

5. Race System
Class system where the characters grow irrespective of level has been adopted and support class skill which the characters can learn skills selectively.

6. Various Skills
Vampire and Ousters have about 40 and 70 skills and spells respectively. Slayers have about 100 types of skills and spell. Further, there are 30 types of passive skills according to the class

The servers are shut down now. Don't waste your time installing this game. This needs to be removed from the store along with Dark Eden Origins.

This Version might not work for you, however if you are interested in playing this game.
Download the latest version from the website.
https://www.dkgenesis.com/downloads
after downloading, you will have to extract the game. i recommend 7Zip its free and efficient.
you will have to make an account, its fairly easy.
after making your account, you will be able to log in with it, and create a new character.

This game reminds me of Renewal Online from Waei.

Hexes and graphics from the late 90s, early 2000s.
i do miss those days. Well.. Need more recruitment for new players i think.

i tried this as a vampire, but got lost... and i tried grinding.. i stepped out to a wrong area and got 1 shot.
either learn from dying... or learn from others.

can be quite fun if you manage to spawn cap enemy base. heheheh.

I love this game i played in the late 90s it was packed with people so i am defintly gonna do a huge series on this game i love vampire and vampire hunters and there new race as well the combat system could use a bit of a update like diablo cuse then been around since 1999

The servers for this version of Dark Eden are closed, but for some reason the store page on Steam remains. Don't waste your time downloading a shut down game.

Do not play this game. Give it a try its worth it but nothing more. You have to buy items from players for hundreds of dollars or you will NEVER be competitive. There is no point in playing hard pvp oriented game if you can't compete with others. Farming exp/money for gear will take mouths of 24/7 grind. Its impossible to get anything without pounding hundreds of dollars (literally) or sacrificing your life for this game. I don't regret playing this tho, i had fun time because i'm Diablo II fan and that's it. This game could be good and it probably was good back in the day but for now its a massive cash grab. Sad thing that veteran players pursuing the nostalgia are willing to burn their money for this scum.

I've played this game for many many years since it's first inception into the gaming market. In the beginning it was a great game with a lot to offer. It had lots of PvE and PvP content. Nothing more fun than Vampires vs. Slayers killing each other all over the place. It didn't really have much story wise or character building wise, but it did have a lot of monsters, lots of loot, lots of small details and lots of battle mechanics.

After a time it went downhill. It died little by little because hackers got into it. They created tons of hacks and cheats for the game. Infinite HP, infinite MP, massive damage on skills, speed hacks, etc. It got so bad that at one point the hackers were running the server. They could do a rollback on all characters on a particular server and destroy hours and hours of hard work. Shame.

The game shut down not long after. It was picked up by another publisher. The same thing happened. It got shut down. Got picked up by another publisher. Same thing happened. It got shut down. Got picked up by another publisher... rinse and repeat... You get where I am going with this...

While the game itself is fun and I had lots and lots of fond memories and many hours of enjoyment, I don't really think anyone should be playing this the way it is. The software and client are so old that anyone can hack it. Their hack/defense systems don't really do much. You can go online and find hacks for this game by just typing it in. It won't be long before this game gets overrun by hackers too. That is, IF this game still has a market for players, which I highly doubt.

So, in finalizing, it's not that I am saying you SHOULD NOT play this game, it's just that being a veteran player since it first came out and watching how many publishers picked it up and watch it die over and over again for the SAME exact reasons, I'd just felt compelled to let you know what you were in store for and hopefully you'll spend your energy elsewhere like on one of those 100+ Steam games you haven't touched yet. :P!

No hard feelings to the Publisher but this is a walking dead game. Don't waste your time.

Despite this game being older than the majority of Steam users, this game is and will remain a gem.

Once you start off you'll notice all the small things like weird pathing, choppy animations, lag and such, you'll want to unistall and never touch this beauty again. But after playing abit and realising the depth this one has to offer plus all the fun that comes along with it, you'll be hooked.

I used to play this ages ago, when the servers were full of hackers and stuff. Those days seems to be over.
Theres also no other game like it. Definitely worth trying.

Hopefully this game will build up a small and dedicated community again to continue the war between humans and vampires! :D

PLEASE, DON'T MIND ALL THE KIDS DOING BAD REVIEWS ON THIS GAME.

Dark Eden is and has always been a free to play MMORPG, released in 1997. The game may have not aged that well, but please, it's a classic and should be treated as such. It doesn't deserve all the bad ratings it has here on Steam.

You may have to Run the game as Admin or Compatibility Mode. Once you open the game, adjust your video and game options (will be applied when you restart the game), and to create your account just click on the button once inside the login menu of the game - it will forward you to their website via Steam. I actually didn't have any problem at all running this game, neither any of my friends.

The game still feels and plays just like any other old school game of this genre, such as Ultima, etc. I was happy and suprised to find some of the cities and even training zones with an interesting amount of people walking around there and interacting with each other.

Dark Eden went through ups and downs and some dubious updates, while some people complained that things are too easy now, others like my brother and I just loved the fact that the game will hook you up with some goodies from the start, and interesting dungeon zones to level up and fight with other races.

In the end, it's still an weird old atmosphere and enjoyable F2P game. And to all my dear Steam friends, please be honest with your reviews - if you don't like games of this old style, why are you playing it on the first place? This game has done nothing wrong to deserve such a bad rating.

Before I start the review, I just want to address the issues other reviewers were having with graphics- I had the same problems. Not sure why, but I had to wait to be in game to change the aspect ratio, exit, and return. Dont mash buttons on startup like I do- it crashses. TL;DR at bottom. Onward!

I just want to say first and foremost- I tried REALLY hard to like this game. The graphics are right in the Diablo II vein and that really hits home for me. There are three different races, each with a different playstyle and abilities, story, zone etc. Within that, there are many ways to customize each character. I was not assaulted by ads, micro-transactions, or pay to win schemes. What could possibly be wrong with this game you ask?

1. Engrish. Seriously. Normally I can look past it, but in this case it actually makes tutorials and storyline downright impossible to understand.

2. Community. There's one server, and its abandoned. Ill assume this is due to the vatious issues Ive encountered.

3. Controls. I tried one character that was a melee vampire- no real issues. When it came to the human Gunner, good luck. Trying to move away from the enemies whilst also trying to click on them to attack is nearly impossible. It just doesnt have the responsivness that D2 or even the original Diablo had.

4. Guidance. This game litterally drops you in the middle of nowhere with no idea of where you ar eor what you should be doing. Once you do figure out where to get a quest started, the 'fun' is just beginning. I was hoping to find someone around to help, but, see issue 2.

TL;DR Dont do it. Lots of potential, but it wil just make you rage quit and be sad you wasted the GB. :'(

A great game with a excellent PVP. This is a old and classic game where you can be a Slayer (Humans with a lots of classes); Vampire and Ousters (is a Hybrid but to me looks like some fairy haha sry).

Is a old game with graphics dated, so probably this is the reason why a lot of people making bad reviews, wht is wrong, do you need analyze the all game, not only the reason why u can do anything there without trying to play.

The highest point is the PVP. In game you live in an eternal war among these races. The game really encourages you to PVP and you cant understand wht other races r saying on the chat, is possible only with a bible (I dont remember wich one) and on the zone chat.

Actually looks eeeeeasier to play because you leveling really fast, but you haver more lvls now.

If do you like games like Diablo 1 or 2, path of exile, I really recomend this game. If you have problems with graphics so you will hate this game haha.
DarkEden has a good history with a great PVP and a amazing interactivity among the players and races.

É um excelente jogo com mt PVP. O que talvez esteja prejudicando seja a questão do jogo não aceitar resoluções que são comuns hoje em dia. Ou joga em janela ou joga ele levemente esticado. Muita gente tem reclamado dos seus gráficos que de fato é datado. Minha maior experiência no jogo está ao fato de ser um velho jogador e agora com ele surgindo na Steam fiquei muito feliz para poder reviver uma época e fato, o jogo NÃO É ENJOATIVO, então dê uma chance se vc curte esse tipo de jogo.

O jogo consta com três raças: Vampiros, Slayers (Humanos), e Ousters que são um tipo de híbrido, para mim sempre se pareceu mais com fada haha. E lembrar que quando eu comecei a jogar não havia Ousters. O jogo sabe ligar muito bem as pontas da história entre as três raças, com interação, jogabilidade, história. No chat uma raça não consegue entender a outra no canal do chat. Até dá para identificar algumas coisas mas em geral as três raças não se entendem.

O ponto alto do jogo é justamente o PVP principalmente entre as raças. Ocorrem guerras grandiosas, difíceis, com momentos organizados e outros de pura bagunça e traição, mas em geral as raças conseguem se organizar bem para participarem da guerra.

Eu agora verei quais são as principais diferenças entre as antigas versões que eu joguei, como Internacional, Japonês e Koreano, e agora esse que novamente é Internacional.

PS: Não se enganem, mesmo q o launcher apareça algo em coreano, o jogo está em inglês. Tudo está em inglês e o único limitador para vc, jogador, será saber inglês.
