-First, there is permadeath. If you are going to whine about losing hundreds of hours after a bad RNG, find a different game, there are hundreds, even thousands, of games out there that will hold your hand, give you your bottle and change your diaper, this is not one of them.
-Second, this game is based on 'actions' that take real world time to recharge, there is only so much you can do in a day unless you use micro-transactions to get more 'actions'. It requires patience to play. Do not jump to discussions and whine that you want unlimited actions. Do not whine that it is a pay to play game either, 95% of the game is free, and the small benefits that come from paying are not game changing or life altering, nor do they make you overpowered or put the game on 'easy mode'.
-Third (and this one is possibly the most important), this game can easily be considered a 'labor of love' type game. It is not a huge company, nor a team of developers, designers and whatnot. It is a very small amount of people, possibly even a single individual, doing everything. They owe you nothing, they did not make this game just for you. It was made because of their devotion to an idea. Have some respect for their dedication and effort. I mean, seriously, could you build a game from scratch AND have the dedication to keep it going all by your self with all of the work involved? I know I could not do it.
This game is difficult. There is hardly a tutorial, you are expected to pay attention, keep notes, remember things and learn by failing. If you need instant gratification, if you can not play a game with out a compass, mini-map with locations marked, a glowing line showing you everything you need to do or a quicksave/quickload feature so you do not have to live with the consequences of any of your actions, move along. Every single action you take counts and none of them can be taken back. Just like real life.
If you want a slow paced, long haul grinder set in a gritty and unforgiving world that is ever evolving and updating, please, join us. This game is something that reminds me of Morrowind or the Advanced Dungeons and Dragons games. No orks, magic or dragons, but it has a serious ShadowRun vibe. You have to actually learn, not just button mash. You have to read each item, there is no voice overs, no videos or convenient cut scenes. I have sticky notes around my monitor to remind me of events, quests and things I need to do or am waiting on.
If you are not scared away by a challenge, I hope you give it a try with an open mind, leave any sense of entitlement at the wayside and give this game a chance. You may find yourself drawn in and decide to keep coming back, ever day, for a long time to come.

That realization of time passing has driven me to jump ahead as fast as I can, feeling the edge of stress and overwhelming chrono-fear, just like in the real world. Rushing things like that, unfortunately, has led to my making mistakes in how I've developed my character. Make a mistake, and it's over: there's no way out, no way to fix them. I've already screwed up my character in ways that I'm not enjoying while fumbling around, trying to figure out the world, and the only option for correcting the situation is either adjusting to work around the mistakes, followed by muddling on through as best as I can for however long I last, or an in-game death followed by starting over; I can't even spend a few credits to fix problems like that, just live with them, or die with them. Again, too close to home, except I don't believe in reincarnation.
Maybe I'll try again after I've had some time to cool off, improve my mood, and start over from scratch, but...oh! right now I just can't bear the thought of messing up in my fantasy worlds in the same way the real world seems to be messing up.

This game may be the most realistic cyberpunk experience available for years to come. Definitely the most realistic as of this review.
Pros:
- The variations on who you are and what choices you make will be almost entirely unique to everyone else. There is just too many different choices and decisions for you to be the same as someone else.
- There is no 'right way' to play CPD. You should play without the influence of others, exploring and role-playing as you see fit. Want to be a beast-like mutant with cannibalistic tendencies but only feed off the guilty? No problem.. Want to be a smooth talking assassin who loves killing the innocent from afar? No problem... The world of CPD will allow and encourage you to be what you want to be.
- The lore and story telling is amazing. If you enjoy a good story, you will love this game.
- Rob (the main developer) is unbelievably active. Every single day they are responding to bugs, typos, helping answer questions etc. There is updates very often, and hotfixes implemented super quickly. Just check the channels in the discord.. be amazed..
- The staff are also very generous with their time and rewards. They have a dedicated channel for character problems, which they spend a lot of time helping people. If you help them (finding exploits, helping out the community etc) you will get rewarded generously.
- The community is strong and growing, the discord super organised and is full of unique and diverse people, just like the characters they play. They are engaging, helpful and careful to not spoil other's gameplay. Use of the 'spoiler' tag is very common.
- There are intense mystery surrounding many things in the game. The game requests you to remain silent, and surprisingly everyone keeps everything quiet without trying to spoil things. This means the stories are more potent and impressive when you experience them.
- The game has these things called 'Breathers' which are basically used either give you action points, increase your refresh rate (rate at which your actions refresh), and a few other handy perks, you can store your action points when you need to be away for a while, and put them in these to use later when you want.
- There is a binge mode that boosts your refresh rate immensely, improves your max pool, and completely fills your action pool (more on this below). You get one immediately on a new character, and every few days get another free, with like above, you can (and should) store for later use.
Neutral (Can be both depending):
- Action Points are based off IRL time. You have a base amount of 50 Base Action points (often referred to the Action pool), that slowly replenish with actual time. 10 minutes per action point. Please note, this rate is increased to every 8 minutes with a subscription, the subscription also increases your 'pool' from 50 to 75. Some people would argue that capping playing time is a negative. Others would argue it is a positive, as it doesn't penalize you for not playing for a while, also helps with taking a break every now and then. For those that are quite casual, the 50 base is more than sufficient.
- There is a heavy presence of LBGTQ+ scenarios, strange mutations and other intense sexual deviance which some may find welcoming, others repulsive. Regardless, you play the way you wish to, explore or ignore options based on your personal preference.
- It is not a simple game to master. You will likely die, and may feel like hundreds of hours was wasted on a single action that was outside your control. But that is also part of the fun. This is a very intense game that often rewards caution and planning over recklessness and blind bravery.
- Very heavy RNG. You start off practically useless, and work your way up to be more adept at more situations. But as you work your way up, there is always new things to challenge, tempt and harrass you.
- Failing on a 99% chance chance will happen from time to time. Some things are based off your skills, others are pure luck based. Some people enjoy that, some people don't.
- Having alts is a good way to maintain your play time plus explore different options / roleplaying scenarios. As a full-time worker, father and husband I only have 1 alt, and I barely have enough time to play that and my main as is.
Cons:
- As there is a credit system, that uses real life money, the game can influence those with gambling traits to spend IRL money to expedite their progress or to aid them when there is no need to spend anything. I would imagine that the paid binge mode will
- There is many unfinished sectors of the game. Often referred to as Content Walls. However, as the game is continuously being improved and worked on, this makes sense. Rob (the developer) work on many areas of the game continuously, they release it as it expands and extends, rather than big blocks when it is finished. Rob might get distracted by new ideas easily, otherwise there is no set path or timeline. This may frustrate some, especially those who digest the game quickly using credits. It is a small team, so sometimes progress on what you particularly want may be slow. But the game is meant to be ingested slowly anyways.
- CPD requires an online connection. Understandable as everything is server-side, but means you have to stay on the grid to play.
- Progress in-game is slow. Very slow. Often people will find things to be a bit of a grind. Some people will burn out if they play too much, which is another reason to try play this game casually.
Conclusion:
Every day I play, I am drawn further and further into the world of CPD. If you try it, you will likely feel the same. It is literally free. There is no reason not to.

The actions you take will have an effect that is not explained, so you have to figure it out and then write it down? Again, crapy game design. You can and need to get your stats higher, not really explained unless you stumble upon it. - II -
Because of limiting actions you get it takes forever to do anything, thats just artificial c***blocking and its annoying. You want to do certain things, tough luck, you will have to wait till you luck smiles on you to give you the possibility to do that actions ...
The whole game is interesting enough, but I don't like the way they went about it. Then again, maybe it wont bother you? It's free, so easy to try out.

Fair warning though, the content warning list for this game would be pretty long, so go into it prepared or it can be a bit of a shock. There's ways to have your view as a player be more/less explicit when it comes to violence and sex, which is a really neat feature, but even still, there's a lot of both in the city. I think it's done well though.
Also, you can have your character be trans and present in a whole bunch of different ways which is really cool imo. All and all, A+ game! And since it's free to play, no reason not to try it out, right?

While it does a lot of things right - the storytelling, the narration, richness of the world seems to be there. Even some very basic and core systems are stubs. And you quickly find that most of the taunted/suggested mechanics (like combat, for which you can pick myriad of various expensive gear) right now is just a single dice roll that actually doesn’t care about most of the combat gear at all. For instance, you have your armors, tactical rigs, things that have actual in game modifiers that are supposed to get you in a fight, but those play absolutely no use anywhere (confirmed by the devs). If they don’t play part anywhere, why have them at all, and lead players down the rabbit hole?
What’s even worse that while the game right at the very start gives you access to a screen, that’s supposed to list stuff that’s not implemented yet (and that list is very short, like five positions), what you learn as you go is that it is not an exhaustive list of things to be implemented, it’s a just list of dead ends you’ve stumbled upon. Worst example of that is the first story you get into as a new player, one that will take days to “conclude”, including many actions and money spent, just to find that it’s just cut off smack dab in the middle. Extremely frustrating when payout for all this work is a dead end, and in about your first proper story too (Ramona).
Then there are some systems that, because of their unfinished state, make absolutely no sense and are anti-fun. Great example will be “chases” system. While it’s supposed to be nice interactive way to manage the chase/chase dynamic, the outcome of it is almost entirely random but still involving an endless amount of nonsensical clicks. All those clicks are interrupted with options being dead-ended, as they are not implemented yet, so for example, if you are being chased by 1-2 piss poor unarmed and unskilled looter, while you are a tower of weapons, ammo and armor, you will have no choice to actually just blast those guys dead.
No, your only options is to to keep running away, and if you are very lucky, maybe take some pot shots along the way. And if you fail at running, don’t bother drawing your knife. There is no combat - if you got chased down, you are automatically beat. While in some chases you have the option to just skip the chase and decide the outcome with a single dice roll, that is only in some. In others, the option is dead-ended, and in others still just plain doesn’t exist. And the advice you will get from older players is to just go with fight as it’s just a much better option - your win chances are still low, but somehow punishment for fighting is smaller than for running, and if you do win you actually get very nice rewards... So pro tip, when chased by group of armed gangers - your best choice is to turn around and start shooting at them. And when chased by malnourished kids with sticks, you just have to keep running like there are Langoliers after you.
While the devs seem nice and responsive on discord, whenever the issue with chases it’s raised it get brushed off “as maybe this is not your type of thing” or vague promises of “chases are getting redesigned” but with no even estimate date available. Again, fine if this was an early access, less so when it promotes itself as complete release.
Those are just two examples of endless disappointments you will run into. Where the game works, it’s absolutely brilliant, but sadly so little of what’s promised is actually implemented that you wind up disappointed, and something actually working as sense dictates is a surprise, not a norm. And that’s just an enormous disappointment, lets hope that the devs can sit down and focus on finishing what’s on the promise soon, and doing some sort of re-release, so people can enjoy it in full glory.

Unless you can justify for yourself logging on every day to play for an hour or so or are hard up for a cyberpunk fix...
This game is steeped in noir-styled descriptions of the world and that makes it sometimes hard to follow if you picked the right choice, or even to understand what kind of choice is actually in front of you, You can cripple your character in this way, permanently.
then there is the forced time-sink style of play: there is no option to fork out some money so you can just keep playing and once your action point are done, that is pretty much it: come back tomorrow or whenever. You can't even end your in-game day with your last action point, since falling asleep costs 5 action points (and that is if you have went through the trouble of getting a place to stay at for your character.)
There are a lot of numbers to track, moodpoints, skillpoints, etc. it all meshes together in a hard to understand mess of statistics that play off of each other, it's a really cool idea that becomes a convoluted mess quite fast.
So ofcourse there are point requierments to be able to do certain things succesfully in-game: but you have to grind out those points and it's not like 1 action-point is the same as 1 skill point. Appropiate skill-levels don't come easy in this game, and that is part of it's charm, but combine that with the timed action point system and it just becomes a repetetive drag. Example: You want a physically fit character who can (maybe) win fight challenges? You can. It just means that your character will have to spend a lot of time in-game working out(which also cost in-game money.) This means you as the player will now have to spend at least a whole real time week focussing just on in-game sporting/training every time you login (and also find a way of getting cinci-dollars to pay for it, which also cuts into your action points) So now you know that you can do it: thext week or more of your time will be spend on repetetive clicking and spending of your action points just so you can beat 1 physical skill check. But the game has a plethora of other skills as well.
The game has depth and style, but it drags itself out into a repetetive grind if you want to become anything but a low level chummer.

+ The writing its supreme
+ The depth of character customization is so great that it could teach a class to most AAA companies.
+ The developers created a grimy, unforgiving and lived in world that you can almost touch.
+ You will find a variety of NPCs that range from likable to unrepentant with which you can interact as you want
+ All your options have very serious and real consequences. The devs didn't shied away from violence and gore (you can also opt out and chose toned down versions if you want).
The game is also free with only some paid options which are actually well worth the price. Neither of those are mandatory and the game doesn't sport any sort of pay to win. I don't know what else to say, please give this game a shot because you will be surprised. See you in the city!!!

You have nine stats that can be increased with activities. There are cybernetic augments to give your stats a nice boost. There are tons of skills to raise. The game's mood simulator is one of the most complex I've ever seen in a game. Frustration, excitement, lethargy, just to name a few, are constantly rising and falling in response to your actions and random events.
You can find someone to love or even hate. The NPCs have personalities, likes and dislike and even some mysteries to figure out. There are factions some that will help you some that will hate you until you convince them to help you. Some that may try to kill you.
While perma death can happen it gives your actions added meaning. You can't just blithely go around upsetting factions without a care to their responses. And if that horror should come to pass that you die, you get bonuses to your next character. Starting with higher stats and access to everywhere you had previously explored.
Add some spice to your day and give CyberpunkDreams a try. After a couple days you'll be looking forward to your next session as you try to achieve your goals. Goals that are your own not driven by some linear story.

The game is nicely written (often actually written really good) which creates a quite cool atmosphere. It appears that there are a lot of possibilites and interesting ideas implemented story-wise. Texts are not too long and not too short.
On that basis it would be a recommendable game worthwhile your (and my) time.
However, this game is a great disappointment:
Firstly you have to create an additional account to play which is inconvenient.
The game itself is based on action points that are capped at 50 which regenerate every 10 real world minutes. You have to spend these actions points to do something (sometimes three or even five just to go to sleep). You have to draw cards by using one action point - then you get usually three cards (sometimes for some reason just two) with possible things to do. Many of these cards are a pure waste of time however (mostly it is losing some buffs instantly after getting them with the cards before). You can pay real money to refresh these actions and you can also store these actions for later via creating an inhaler by using a machine in your flat in the city (10 at a time).
Also you have to use lots of actions for basics like eating and training - but story-wise there is only slow progress.
Also there is some connection to real world time as night/day shifts at a certain real time.
The whole game is kind of a currency exchange: You need to walk around getting rumours for the given area. These you can convert to other currencies like hard facts or familiarity etc.
Your skills are getting better by using them, little by little.
BUT every real time day you also lose some of your progress and skills (awful!).
Overall game progress is thus really slow (I wonder how much content there actually is).
Later in the game (for me after 26 hours of play time over around 8 or 10 real world days) you get the option to pay real money to access some area which also reduces the refresh to 8 minutes.
This system is awful, if not a despicable strategy to generate money and manipulate gamers to overcome the frustration generated by this game (also just think of some little kids). I think that systems like these should be banned and certainly not be advertised by STEAM.
On this basis the game is utterly not recommendable.
------------
I will keep looking at it to see if the devs change something as the setting and atmoshpere is nicely done at least.
My recommendations would be to change this game system in a way that the character has maybe a given number of actions per game day that might be boosted by cyberware and some drugs (with side-effects). I am sure that if the content is nice people will be willing to pay three or five bucks for it. That's what this game would be worth to me if the game mechanics would be acceptable. Otherwise I have to say that it is a shame that the good writing is going to waste here.
Edit: I just logged in again and as it happens there was another day in the game (connected to real time) leading to a loss in skill points. I spent lots of actions on building my own house in the bordertown (to no effect by the way except using up like 12 building materials which cost eacht around 126 $. You have to know that you make ten to 20 bucks per regular job in this game...). Then I realised that I am wasting my time with this gaming concept. Not just badly used time but wasted. Shame on the devs, I'm outta here and will deinstall now. You shouldn't even install that crap in the first place - even if it is for free.

Why the negative review?
I just can't deal with the kinds of games you need to play every day more or less to make any progress. I want to be able to play once a week for 12 hours straight. That type of game is designed to be a grind, which is fine by me since the writing is good and the story is interesting, but having just enough time to grind a little bit every day after work and barely seeing any progress is very frustrating for me.
This review is mostly a call to the dev. I know my people are out there that like me can't deal with that Fallen London gameplay. Release that shit for 40 bucks with no action point limitations and I'll buy it. Hell I'll even buy DLCs too since I understand the idea is to have a long term income source.

The gameplay will not be for everyone its all mostly text with pictures you make decisions and you have a limited amount of AP to use for such decisions and they replenish 1 for every 10 mins and you have a max of 50 so it takes around 10 hours for a full refill (you can still play as long as you have AP ergo you dont have to wait for a full refill ) unless you are willing to shell out real money for credits or do some other actions that might help you replenish them.
You play as some random dude with a random missions that you flesh out little by little you decide what you want to be and what you want to do and a lot of the options are very interesting each with their perks and cons that affect you for the entire playthrough. You have items equipment weapons clothing and all kinds of things you manage including moods etc etc etc .
All in all it is a good game that wont be everyone's cup of tea but it is still a good game and they are still adding new things which is good I hope they continue to develop the stories and what you can do, the sky is the limit when you have to write most of your game with some pictures here and there.

Recommended for fans of digital masochism
I wanted to like this game, but at the end of the day it's just not a product that warrants recommendation. A mostly text-based take on post-apocalyptic science fiction- the game claims to be cyberpunk but only fits that label in a very watered-down fashion (for example, there's no actual hacking content), relying more on generic sci-fi tropes to carry the day.
To its credit, it's pretty well-written. And it definitely has its fun moments. Unfortunately, it will slow down to a quite literally grinding halt after a while, exhausting any fresh experiences and leaving the player increasingly bouncing between an endless series of repeatable event cards that have already been played over and over, with little to look forward to except the chase of ever more elusive stat gains. Even seemingly simplistic quests can take an agonizingly long time to complete due to the reliance on random card draws and purely grind-based progression mechanics. The main storyline suffers from overpromising in its early stage followed by just stopping abruptly due to being largely unfinished. This is unfortunately not an uncommon sight- as you venture further into the game, you will regularly run into so-called content walls, where the action stops until development can catch up at some unknown point in the future.
Compounding these narrative issues is the reliance on microtransactions to get anywhere. The game will quite literally impose hard limits on your allotted actions per day, that can only be lifted by paying to play. Much content is also paywall-gated in a particularly tacky fashion where the player is prompted to pay for using specific event or dialogue options in the middle of the action. If your character is permanently killed, which can happen as a result of a single bad roll of the dice and as early as a few minutes into the game, most of this investment is simply lost and has to be repaid if a new character is rolled. Perhaps most outrageously, several options that are gated behind microtransactions turn out to actually be content walled, ie unimplemented- and only informs the player of this minor detail AFTER the transaction is completed.
The devs, to their credit, are generally helpful and approachable on the community Discord server, which is an indispensable resource for new players. Participation is almost a necessity, as the tutorial content in the game is woefully inadequate and leaves large gaping holes of undocumented mechanics that can easily trap players in menace spirals where problems compound and constrain the play experience to frustration and helplessness. The dev team unfortunately also seems wedded to a number of bad design decisions, for example in the clothing system and chase mechanics. And there are a lot of these poorly balanced or poorly functioning systems throughout the game, effectively acting as newbie traps that the player will have to learn to work with or work around in order to get anywhere. A common dev response to balance compaints is that the game isn't meant to be balanced, and some options exist solely for 'roleplay reasons'.
I realize I haven't said much positive about this game, which is perhaps not entirely fair. It can be a lot of fun, to its credit. But it suffers from poor design decisions, unfinished content and a microtransactions reliance that ultimately just leaves a bad taste in the mouth. I wouldn't advise anyone to try it unless they have a penchant for digital suffering and/or a lot of spare cash to blow on buying ingame currency.

If you're wondering about real money costs:
I liked the game so much I bought a bunch of credits and started a second character. On the second character I have spent credits every time it is offered. So far I have spent a little more than $6 worth of credits. As of writing this review I have about 20 hours in the game. Totally worth it.
None of the money spent was necessary you can play for free, but I wanted to support the devs.

But the biggest drawback: it is confused of what it wants to be. It’s somehow a single player MMO, tied to real-time, with no save games, perma-death, after literally spending day/weeks/whatever to build up a character. It’s a PC game that plays as a mobile game, optimized for quick bursts of playing throughout the day, thanks to action limits.
Plus poorly optimized in parts, missing tool-tips, missing descriptions, missions popping up way before you are ready for them, complex, without its complexity always properly explained.

The game has you truly live in the world, which means stuff like showering, sleeping, making meals, doing menial labor for money. All of these lend to the immersive elements of the game, but most also take action points. This ends up feeling as a way to drain your action points, as you'll often get stuck in a rut where you have to do a bunch of menial stuff to fix up your character after a streak of bad luck, or just need to earn some money. Some events have you stuck in them until you get out, and every try costs AP, meaning you could splurge out half your playing session just to get out of a bad-luck situation.
The game has a lot of potential and anyone can tell that time and effort went into it, I just wish the action point mechanic was turned into something else instead of a time-gate and the game was purchasable as a one-time payment. Until then I can't recommend it.

Its honestly the scummiest cash grab i have seen in games, including from companies like EA but annoyingly theres a decent game behind the constant paywalls.

Mechanically: I love the attribute system and the way it rolls for events. I hate the the way it uses the mobile format of time regenerating actions, it's toxic on that platform and ruins it on this one.
Thematically: The graphics are basic, but have there own charm. I personally like it.
Writing: I am by no means far into the game, but what I have seen is really on point for a gritty Cyberpunk world.
Overall: The game is fun and random in a good way but the mechanics really let the whole game down, I would never pay real money to artificially advance the plot or get better items -.-. I would prefer a different system with a buy up front starting point.

Be prepared to take it slow unless you want to pay money.
I'm talking weeks of checking in every day or so.

I recommend if you're into cyberpunk as a genre or just deep settings in general.

There are a few typos here and there and sentences are written in very weird ways, but overall the writing is solid and enjoyable.
Edit:I also would like to add that the pricing is extremely high, for a game of this type.
10 Credits // $1.50
50 Credits // $5.99
100 Credits // $9.99
200 Credits // $17.99
400 Credits // $31.99
Some moves can cost you one point, some can cost you multiple, such as, sleeping and showering, moving from location to location, cooking, decisions, etc. Sometimes you need to grind and do the same actions over and over( and of course that costs action points ) to get anywhere and progress.
10 actions will cost you 3 credits, so you can do the math on how expensive(potentially) this game can get. I would gladly pay a one-time fee of 20 or 30 bucks for this game, because I can appreciate the work put into this game and I understand that devs got to eat too, but a monetization system such as this seems extremely greedy.
So far I have not discovered a way of earning them, besides just waiting around 7 hours for the 40 action pool to fill up.
