Meine Empfehlung: NICHT KAUFEN BIS DER PUBLISHER DIESE FELER ENDLICH BEHEBT UND AUCH DIE NEUAUFLAGE DES SPIELS NICHT KAUFEN!

Story
Crysis is a science fiction first-person shooter video game developed by Crytek
and published by Electronic Arts.
Global tensions have reached boiling point as the U.S. and North Korea square
off in the South China Sea.
The North Korean government quickly seizes the area, prompting the U.S. to dispatch
an elite team of Special Forces operatives on a rescue mission. During the siege the
true nature of the artifact quickly emerges, pointing to the existence of an alien presence
on Earth, and ultimately the trigger for a massive-scale alien invasion.
The battle to save Earth begins as the aliens flash freeze the tropics into a ghostly-white frozen landscape.
As gamers take up arms against the aliens, they will be outfitted with customizable weapons
and a high tech Nanosuit, allowing them to adapt their tactics and abilities to a hostile,
ever-changing environment and a mysterious enemy.

The game from the German development studio Crytek makes a wonderful impression for a game from 2007 in terms of graphics and self-determination in its doing and leaving.
The single player shooter is a lot of fun, especially with the well implemented idea of the nanosuit, while the story is characterized above all by the unexpected change of direction.
The relatively short employment time this game offers is not noticeable due to the other qualities of the game, which draws one under its spell.

I gotta point out that the sound sometimes would bug, the voices would sound just fine, and then all of a sudden they would be too loud. The boss before the final one would sometimes disappear or clip through the deck, my game crashed a few times as well, and I forgot an essential weapon behind when I proceeded to the final mission, which made me open an older save where it would allow me to go back to inside the ship to get it. All of this but in the end, I managed to finish the game, and I must say I enjoyed the ending a lot.

With that out of the way replaying Crysis after 15 years and actually knowing what i was doing,I've gotta admit the game more than holds up and is a spectacle also thoroughly enjoyable. There are a few things that haven't aged well but that is to be expected. Overall it's a solid experience and a staple for FPS games.

Crysis was a revolutionary game when it came out. The FPS gameplay with added superpower because of the suit was extremely fun and rewarded creativity and player-tailored approached considerably, especially in the first half of the game. Running around the island and being an absolute monster on your enemies is peak far cry gameplay. Plus, the graphics (at the time, and even now) are absolutely fantastic and the game was developed for hardware that didn't even exist yet at the time. Now, everyone can probably run it on Ultra, but back then, it was THE BENCHMARK.
The fact the second half of the game introduces an entirely new factions that really tests your suits abilities and resourcefulness is fun, even if it breaks the power fantasy of the first half. Still, the best crysis game.

Years gone, time goes by, Crysis 10 fps. I remember i played this on low settings, i remember i set it on normals. Now i have it on MAXIMUM, but can't get steady 60 fps on 4k. Well done Crytek. You still get all the credit. This is honest review. I love this game. Great FPS.

Instead, you have missions with points of interest but you can wander around the islands however you see fit, whether it's trekking through certain parts of the jungles or making your way around the island via the ocean. Obviously the routes are more limited in certain missions, but you can still find multiple ways to get through places, and sometimes you can evade whole enemy outposts if you're smart about it.
You have some special abilities as the kind of supersoldier you are, whether its faster sprinting, heavier protective armor, the ability to turn invisible temporarily, and extra brute force (which allows for higher jumping as well). These make the game a bit more interesting than a typical shooter as you can stealth your way into an enemy stronghold, start knocking people out with extra strength, and go invisible again to run somewhere else.
I played the game on the highest difficulty, which definitely makes the game harder, but it's more immersive as the enemies are locked into speaking Korean instead of English, meaning unless you're fluent you won't know what they're saying, which is what would happen for soldiers in these situations.
Later on the in the game, alien creatures become a bigger aspect, and some of the set pieces are awesome, including a section where you're floating around inside of an alien ship/creature.
This game is much better than I expected after playing it so late and I really liked the action. A good one to play if you haven't experienced it.

Graphics:
The graphics still look good even now that the game is 14 years old. Sometimes they could even hold up quite well with some modern games, other times.. not so much. But it's definitely not the graphics that are the problem.
The Story:
The story is pretty straight forward, I won't go into details in order not to spoil anything.
There could have been much more work done here, it's really just some one-liners, military guys acting cool and swearing nonstop, a small breeze of mystery that doesn't get much detailed than that. It's a shooter, so you might not even care too much about it. I think a little more character development and lore would not have hurt, but helped make this more enjoyable. Not a big deal for me though.
Gameplay:
Gameplay feels very clunky, you walk and run (almost no difference) very slowly unless you set your nanosuit to sprint mode, which allows you to run very fast for 1-2 seconds before you have to charge up again. This feels very weird and you are constantly on low energy if you want to travel at acceptable speeds on foot. There is a power mode that allows you to strike harder using melee and jump higher, which also feels super clunky, you can jump quite high but are super slow jumping forward which makes jumping passages frustrating. The armor mode... well, reduces the damage you take, but you also walk very slow as with everything else but the speed mode. And then there is the cloak mode, that runs out of energy super quickly aswell and gets disabled as soon as you shoot, so I barely found a use for it. As soon as enemies know you are there they will find you anyways, especially helicopters.
To summarize: the suit doesn't really make you feel powerful, it makes you feel slow and clumsy a lot of times, which doesn't feel great.
The difficulty settings are very weird too. I am used to hard games, and while this game is not extremely hard, it felt very unbalanced even on easy difficulty. Some enemies would oneshot you instantly and or take unreasonable amounts of damage. There were minefields that would explode even if you dodge the mines, so you had to avoid them completely. Helicopters are indestructable if you dont have a rocketlauncher at hand. They will follow you through the entire level raining bullets on you as soon as you stop moving which is super annoying. The cloaking ability wont help you either. The weapon sway is off the charts, you really have to concentrate to hit anything on distance with any gun but the sniper rifle. Some guns barely offer ammunition so you might want to avoid them completely, for example the pistol or the sniper rifle. The game crashed about 4-5 times during my playthrough, acceptable but higher than average. Sometimes the performance dropped even though my pc had no trouble running the game at all.
The controlls...
You can only switch between aim mode, not just hold the mouse button.
You have to hold crouch to stay crouched, you can't set it to toggle.
Weapon selection is annoying, you can only cycle through gun classes, not just select a specific one.
AND...
The final bossfight requires you to shoot a weapon you might not have even picked up.
I remember I thought my game was bugged in the first playthrough back then but no.
There is a SECONDARY mission goal for you to pick up a gun in the final levels.
There are no reminders to go get it, you can't even get it the first time you are there, you have to
randomly come back at a later point without beeing lead there to be able to pick it up.
If you don't, you will be asked to fire the gun over and over in the bossfight, but you can't, because the way to get it is blocked off and there is no second gun lying around. I had to replay from an earlier checkpoint which was very annoying and should not be happening.
Some pro's so it's not just all negative and a little more fair:
+ destructable buildings
+ nice graphics (still)
+ variety in gameplay (from walking to flying, there are many different passages)
+ the levels offer multiple different paths to approach a battle from
+ you can pick up animals and throw them at enemies (frogs keep on flying to infinity)
+ a lot of vegetation and some animals sprinkled in to give the environment more life
+ gun attachment-costumization on the go which can actually be quite usefull.
Overall: The graphics have aged quite well but the gameplay felt super clunky and sometimes broken. I had sound buggs with loud crackling noises and a bunch of crashes and fps drops. The difficulty feels random and instructions are often unclear.
I honestly would not recommend this game except you want to go on a nostalgia trip.
I really wonder if the problems mentioned have been adressed in the Remaster version,
because otherwise that would really suck. The graphics are the last thing that would need to be
refined in this one ^^'

A simple visit to the internet and you can get this running but Steam games should minimum just launch with no manual configurations. Why don't Valve remove stuff like this until Devs or publisers make a simple patch?
Maybe Valve should offer to take sells pr sale for games that actually runs on modern PC's and works with cloud saves, steamworks etc. This is a big reason why I dislike PC Gaming. No devs updates simple fixes. Another game is Fallout 3 where Steam has broken version but other stores work fine.

For those wanting a review of the game
This game is 9/10, among some of the best FPS games I have tried. So freaking good. Buy if curious, just not from steam unless you want to fiddle and be frustrated.

DOESN'T WORK Don't Buy
CD Key doesn't work, No way to run it without some third party files
No support from steam or EA after the purchase
Game asks for the key before you can run it and the key steam provides doesn't work... if you somehow manage to run the game without the key with help of third party fix, game will have no sound and it will not run properly and it's unplayable even after the fix.
If you are buying the whole Crysis bundle then keep in mind that only Crysis 2 is playble in the bundle, rest doesn't work and you will not get refund for the game either.
i dont get it why steam does not remove the thing if it doesn't even work anymore.

Crysis Review
Simply put, Crysis is an absolute beast of a game. Even now 14 years on from its original release it's going to give your PC a run for its money due to Crytek’s assumption that the future of CPU design was clock speeds and not the amount of cores; spoiler alert, they guessed wrong. However, it is still objectively easier to run these days after years of hardware progression and is probably one of the nicest looking games around. CryEngine 2 had a lot to showcase here with character models and facial animations only rivalled at the time by Source and breathtaking landscapes filled with sandy beaches, crop fields and dense jungles complimented by some impressive volumetric lighting. But enough about graphics, what’s it about and more importantly how does it play?
Upon starting the campaign you are put into the boots of Nomad - a charisma vacuum - I mean a US special forces soldier with access to a high-tech nanosuit that enhances the user's speed, strength, stealth and armour capabilities. Nomad and his squad are on a covert operation to rescue civilians and researchers from a South Pacific island that has been invaded by the North Koreans due to the discovery of ancient, alien technology. It’s a simple premise that starts off with a promising, tension-filled beginning but ends up being handled with as much nuance as a Call of Duty campaign.
The game's missions and set pieces also suffer from late game deterioration as the last third fails to live up to the quality of what came before. This is exemplified by the slow, meandering crawl through the alien’s homebase which goes on for far too long as you make your way through a zero-gravity cave system which is confusing to navigate and veers into frustration as you're hit with wave after wave of enemies. This is in stark contrast to the variety of missions that precede it that see Nomad behind enemy lines sabotaging vital communications equipment, destroying anti-air guns whilst US forces prepare their chaotic offensive and the actual assault on the North Korean troops as you roll on them with a company of tanks.
Now the biggest problem that Crysis faces is the marriage of its mechanics and level design which never quite coalesces, despite so much promise. You are given all the tools you’ll need from the very beginning (there are no skill trees or extra powers here) and dropped into the world to experiment and build up familiarity with Nomad’s powers until you become the super-soldier you dreamed of as a child, bashing Action Men into one another. The level design just doesn’t quite compliment these powers enough though. The maps are like sandboxes with alternate routes, secret paths and an emphasis on verticality which aids your covert sleuthing through the jungle but often falls apart in more open areas and the soldiers' encampments. These sections sometimes fall into generic cover shooting, especially on the higher difficulties, and often made me question why I had the powers to begin with - an issue that the expandalone Crysis: Warhead solved thankfully.
I have heard Crysis described as a glorified tech-demo that exudes style over substance and whilst that may be a little unfair it is understandable given the design of the game. The developers clearly wanted to create a power fantasy that allows the player to creatively use the tools and weapons at their disposal but they didn’t facilitate this enough through level design. Sure, the story may read like a US sanctioned propaganda piece and many facets of its design are inconsistent at best and painfully boring at worst. But all in all, Crysis does stand on its own as a relic of mid 2000’s PC gaming; a good game that couldn’t quite climb that hurdle to greatness but gosh, doesn’t it still look so pretty?

And the gameplay is.... not great. You're this super cool, invincible super solider with an awesome suit! You can go invisible (for about 5 seconds), tank bullets (about 4 bullets) and jump incredible heights (twice before you need to recharge). All in all, you just don't feel particularly badass. It's much more of a stealth game than it is an action adventure game, but it keeps pushing you towards action adventure, then punishing you for not being stealthy. You get shredded by enemies in moments if you stick your head out of cover. Helicopters can shred you in about 3 seconds on normal difficulty, and your stealth doesn't work after they've seen you the first time. (this isn't explained to you anywhere; you have to figure that out for yourself). The vehicles you can drive all handle poorly, and it just feels very unpolished.
It's still pretty to look at it, but in terms of other games out there... it's not as pretty. It's not as fun. You die too damned quick.
I will give it this caveat-- playing with cheat codes on is pretty fun. Setting your strength to max, setting your move speed to insane levels, and enabling god mode lets you run around picking up Korean soldiers and hurling them all around with reckless abandon. It's great! It's what the game SHOULD HAVE BEEN.
.... then you get to the weird story that makes no damned sense and is best left unspoken of. All in all, not terribly impressed with this game.

I refunded it but didn't know that they would withhold my money for 7 days, which probably means that the discount will be over before I get my money back. (I planned on buying it again in hopes of a valid key since that seemed to be the fastest and easiest approach, but whatever.)
If you contact steam support about this problem, they'll just tell you to contact EA support instead, even though I bought it here. Which means that support for this game doesn't really seem to exist.
That said, this is the first really negative experience I've ever had with Steam (except for the forced and unnecessary updates/news bar on top of the games library).

2.5 hours later, created an EA account, linked EA account to Steam, contacted EA help IM, took screenshots of email confirmation of purchase, took 2 screenshots of purchase in steam, given a code, didn't work, given another code, didn't work, told to download and install EA Origin (.... another one?), game didn't show up in EA Origin (Crysis 2 and 3 did), had to wait while they activated Crysis 1 manually (?), close Origin, reopen and it's there, install from Origin, uninstall from Steam, got back to an activation code request and given a 3rd code, still didn't work.... have a ticket number and it's being sent to a higher tiered support.

Honestly, at first I didnt want to write a negative review about decade old game without modern systems optimisation and which multiplayer functional already was brutalized by GameSpy's greedy owners.
But after I found out how many games published by EA on Steam being defective or not working at all, I was convinced of the need to warn potencial buyers about occuring scam.
So the catch is that current version of the Crysis (and Warhead as well, as far as I remember) still bound to SecuROM DRM. After you download the game and try to launch it, SecuROM window will pop-up instead, and to bypass it you will have to enter a unique CD-key which EA not providing anymore and which Steam literally stealing from your accounts, if you had one before this 'policy changes' happend.
Sometimes SecuROM textbox will already be filled with something, meant to be a CD-key, but dont rejoice ahead of time, because this key is a fake! And Im not joking, it literally wont work and you wont be able to start the game at all.
According to Steam Community and random sites, you can either - 1) refund it real quick within 2 hours policy, 2) use third party executables, 3) try to contact Steam support which will redirect you to EA's or EA's support which will claim its all Steam's fault.
Of cause you can always try to settle things directly with both companies on 'pre-trial' base by shaking your fairly paid bill and telling that you dont care why your legit non-pirated copy of the game cannot be launched at all, but all youll get - posible Steam Wallet refund or an Origin version of a game. Not a best alternatives, but still better than nothing.
Talking about game itself - its pretty good semi-open world FPS game for a one solid passing. Crysis never was 'that good' even in 2008, when everybody were very hyped about its complexity and superior technologies involved, but it providing everything youll need from classic sci-fi FPS, including: tons of gun and attachments for them, light vehicles to speed up movement on 'rail' areas of levels and heavy armor, including aerial, to initiate full carnage. Cliche, but good story with few plot twists. Possibility to play both loud and stealthy. Cool nanosuit which was pretty neat thing to appear decade ago and which still looks good.
At the end of review Id like to say that situation with broken games unacceptable in 2021 and noone should invest hard earned money in such publishers and stores, at least until theyll start to actually care about quality of service, not just money counting.
For now, I suggest to purchase Crysis, its add-on and subsequent games at the PirateBay Store instead of Steam or Origin. PirateBay Store provide better prices, better quality and sometimes even better support, which is pretty ironic at the end of the day.

So this game requires a CD key to run, and apparently EA has recently made it impossible to actually load your CD key for some reason due to some licencing changes. So if you buy this game on Steam you will not be able to play it. Thanks EA.

The game is lags on modern PCs. You must install 5 more 10+ y. o. apps so that game can actually start. Will it really start? No, the next step is fixing black screen on loading screen and random crashes and trying to set the resolution to Full HD. Wanna more than Full HD? You gotta google even more

- Requires more thinking than a regular linear shooter. You have to plan each mission
- More difficult in Normal mode than other shooters I've played. Enemies are aggressive and relentless.
- Game changes a lot when you learn to use the cloak power effectively. I played without using it for quite some time and it felt a lot more difficult
- Learning to use the Suit cleverly is fun.
- Last part of the game is buggy and much more linear than first 70% of the game.
Overall, the game is one of the most fun and immersive shooters I've played. Looking forward to play the rest.

In any other case, you're better off picking a different single player shooter. The game aged like milk. Any challenge is stripped away by the hilariously bad enemy AI. That only applies to human enemies however, as any other ones are just kinda fucking annoying.
Once the enjoyment that the game's few gimmicks provide wears off, you're left with what a pretty whatever shooter - the enemies are dumb and boring, and you can go invisible. Few other games allow you to see a chicken thrown at a wall, followed by a wrecked shack and an intact bird, though.
There is some dopamine in here. Maybe not that much, but enough.
Get it on a sale if you're either feeling nostalgic, or if you missed the era of Crysis being relevant.

Introduction
When Crysis released back in 2007, I did not know much about it, as I did not care about new releases at all. However, the strange, advanced looking suit on the box caught my eye, and I had to get it as soon as possible. It turned out that I could not even launch the game, as my graphic card was too weak. “But Can It Run Crysis?” was a popular joke among the community, but for me, it was a harsh reality. However, once I was able to play it, I immediately fell in love with its visual presentation, gripping campaign, and fascinating multiplayer. The question is if Crysis can still hold up to this day? It certainly can, but it has its shortcomings.
Story
An American team of archeologists discovers ancient alien machines on Linghsan Island. However, North Koreans capture them shortly after the discovery, and they cut off the islands from the rest of the world. You play as Nomad, a member of the dispatched Raptor Team, who wears a technologically advanced Nanosuit, which gives him superhuman abilities, such as invisibility or strength. Your task is to evacuate the archeologists and secure any valuable information. Once you get onto the island, you find out that some of these machines are still functional and not that happy with your presence, so they turn small skirmishes between Americans and Koreans into a massive slaughterhouse.
While the game’s plot is serviceable and a bit intriguing from the start, it does not have any interesting characters. The North Korean antagonist is forgettable, and your fellow team members are no better, as there is no depth or proper character development. And that is a shame as the game occasionally forces Nomad into interaction with them, yet I have not managed to care about them at all. The positive aspect is that the story does not pretend to be smarter than it actually is, and it does not interrupt you from gameplay. Its narrative is simply about a group of American soldiers fighting Koreans and Aliens, and that is enough for this kind of game.
Gameplay
To my surprise, I still enjoyed the twelve hours long campaign a lot. The game has several levels, and most of them are pretty open, which allows you to choose a path and style that suits you, as the game only shows you your objective on the map. There are occasional side objectives, which can either help you with your mission or give you additional information about the story. You will go through dense jungles, beautiful beaches, rocky mountains, vast plains, and several industrial complexes, so the levels are pretty varied. That variety is one of the reasons I enjoyed replaying the game so much, as each mission is different and offers something new and unique. There is not much time for sightseeing, though, as Koreans have a lot of military camps and patrols in the area, and they also can call for reinforcements.
You can use vehicles to travel through these open locations. Several civilian cars are drivable, as well as Humvees, military trucks, and even tanks. You are not limited only to ground vehicles, as you can use boats and even pilot a VTOL in one mission. All vehicles are easy to control, and using them against your enemies is both advantageous and enjoyable.
As mentioned before, you are wearing an advanced Nanosuit, which makes you more effective in combat. You have four Nanosuit modes to choose from: an armour, which makes you more resistant to damage; invisibility for stealthy approach; strength for higher jumps, bashing through the walls, and picking up and throwing heavy objects; and speed for your overall movement and weapon handling. Those abilities draw power from your suit’s energy, which recharges after a while. Switching suit’s mods often is essential, and changing your position in a blink of an eye while causing mayhem among Koreans is just entertaining.

Your weapon arsenal is pretty standard for this genre, as there are a few assault rifles, shotgun, submachine gun, as well as few interesting pieces, such as minigun or Gauss rifle. Lethal grenades, rocket launchers, or flashbangs and smoke grenades are present too. What makes Crysis a bit unique is its weapon customization, where you can add several attachments without pausing the game. That is a feature I wish was more common today. You can find weapon attachments at enemies or their camps.
As there are quite a lot of explosives, you might be asking if the environment is destructible. Well, partially. A lot of enemy towers, bunkers, and civilian shacks are destroyable, and their debris might hurt or kill your enemies. Unfortunately, some buildings might be destroyable only via a scripted event or not at all. However, grabbing poor Korean by the neck and throwing him against obstacles is satisfying enough to make it up for it.
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2227912178
Your enemies consist mostly of Korean soldiers, who will use every abovementioned equipment and vehicles against you. I must say that I still had a lot of fun fighting them, as they are pretty aggressive and try to use the environment to their advantage a bit. Of course, their AI is a bit outdated for today’s standard, so you can sometimes confuse them if you spam explosives in their camp or shoot at them from hundreds of meters, even on the highest difficulty setting.
Another part of the game is fighting against the aliens. That is different than fighting with Koreans, as they have an octopus-like appearance, and their movement is pretty fast and a bit unpredictable. There are several types of aliens, from small ones who can jump several meters away, to bigger ones, which fly around the sky. There are also a few bosses. However, as much as I like that fighting them feels different and requires a different strategy than with Koreans, I do not like that the whole game becomes a lot more linear once aliens become regular enemies. While the first half of the game shows me all the possibilities and says: do whatever you want; the second half of the game strips that off and says: go straight and shoot. And while I still enjoyed missions with aliens, I cannot help but feel a bittersweet taste from playing it.

This game also offers a sandbox editor, where you can create custom maps and scenarios pretty easily. As for the multiplayer, which I loved when the game was released, I have not managed to find populated servers. The best I could find was only with three players at the same time.
Audiovisuals & Performance
Crysis still offers pretty visuals, tons of small details, and beautiful sceneries. It is definitely a bit stunning compared to other games that were released back in 2007. The soundtrack can create an immersive atmosphere, but it is not something I would listen to regularly. An interesting addition is that Koreans speak in their native language on the highest difficulty setting.
The game was tested with an i5 8300H, GTX 1060 6GB, and 16GB RAM, running at high settings at 60 frames per second, at 1920x1080 resolution. There might be a problem with launching the game on Windows 10, so I advise to use this guide. Fixing this problem takes about two minutes.
Conclusion
Even after all these years, the first Crysis still manages to provide an enjoyable singleplayer experience with enough variety with each level. While it has its shortcomings, it is definitely a game first-person shooter fans should give a try if they have not yet.

1. Game crash when launching. You have to do a lot of thing is order to run it.
2. Does not support 1080p. You have to look online for the fix.
3. The first cutscene I get stuck in black screen then after fixing that I can only see white screen but I was able to move forward gaming.
4. Customers should not have to do any of the fix. If you are selling old games to modern machines make sure it's running properly.
5. It's installing old software like gamespy comrade which is difficult to uninstall btw.
If you're okay with tweaking just to play this game then go for it but prepare to be frustrated. It's hard to recommend this game.

Yes apparently it can.
i5-8400
GTX 1060
8GB RAM.
A great fps from 2007 which holds up really well today 13 years later with some stunning graphics, accurate shooting and pretty ruthless enemy A.I.
Using the cool nano-suit powers makes you feel like the predator as you turn invisible, flank the enemy and then blow them all away before they even knew you were there. At times the enemy actually seemed to act like they were afraid as they ran to cover and shouted when their team mates were killed.
The way you interact with the world also feels great as everything reacts to physics including enemy vehicles, objects in the environment and debris from buildings as they explode around you. You can pick up a guy by the throat and throw him off a cliff so it earns extra points for that.
HOWEVER! I made it to the final boss in the game and saved in case i died and the game crashed. This was the only crash i experienced in my nearly 20 hours of playtime.
Now when i try to load the save the game crashes in the menu.
So i guess i beat the game.....yeah fuck it, i beat Crysis.
Well worth picking this up especially in a sale and i'm pretty sure most modern computers will run it well despite it having a reputation as a PC melter.

Crysis is an enthusiasts game and should be treated as such, to get the most out of it you are going to need to get into editing .cfg files and messing around in the engine, not for everyone but for those who enjoy that the possibilites are limitless. It is a shame the original Crymod website is no longer up but if you look for it there is a plethora of gameplay, graphics, ToD mods etc... I recommend Rygel textures, GoC(Gears of Crysis 3rd person mod) right off the bat, don't forget to enable Suit Shortcuts in gameplay settings.
Graphics can be customized to run on your PC, everything has tweakable variables in the .cfg files, sound files can be modded too. My favorite ToD is Real Lifesis 2(Reli 2) with my own custom tweaks. Check out Xzero's work on shaders, I advise against installing some mega shader pack as that can make the game look ridiculous in a weird way very fast, you need to understand what and why you're tweaking it first.
Crysis pioneered many graphics effects that have become the standard for modern video games, object motion blur, crepuscular rays, ambient occlusion, parallax occlusion mapping, subsurface scattering, volumetric clouds, depth of field, dense vegetation with physics, many games are still catching up, all of this in 2007. Don't listen to any fool who calls this game unoptimized, yes it does have performance issues but to criticize it's performance undermines the technical masterpiece it truly is. Crysis was designed for an alternate reality of future PCs where cpu clocks were around 8ghz+ instead of 3.2ghz with 16 cores, when it came out most people barely had dual cores. Obviously it is not perfectly optimized for your modern PC, you have to remember the engine graphics were absolutely revolutionary for the time, so revolutionary my high school class mates literally thought my screenshots of the game were fake and it was impossible for a game to have such amazing graphics let alone run on a PC, all on my single 8800gt :D WIth that said it is completely playable on an OC'd cpu, aim for 5ghz, Warhead runs at a solid 60+.
For me, Crysis died after the first, 2 and 3 are not fun in the same way, I don't recommend them.
The campaign is a blast, you can attach c4 to turtles and strength throw water melons at enemies heads, that's all you need to know.

I would suggest waiting for a deal though, just based on the age of the game and the current price,
which seems a bit ambitious. Despite being 13 years old (OMFG) it will run sweet & still look pretty with
