Jetzt hast du seltsame Erinnerungen an seltsame Orte.

Ja.

Nein Danke.

- Laufen Finden Laufen Finden..........
- Puzzle Unlogisch

Conarium has many references to Lovecraft's works; Nameless City, Whisperer in the Darkness, Shadow out of Time, Dagon, At the Mountains of Madness to name a few. Albeit jumbled, it is faithful to the atmosphere of Cthulhu mythos and recommended to HP Lovecraft fans all around.

I like the concept of Conarium, but the execution left me flat out bored. During the final segments of the game, I had lost interest in the story and just tried to push forward as fast as possible to get it over with. The sound is solid, graphics look nice, but there's just not enough here to recommend playing through it.

A spiritual successor to The Darkness Within series, Conarium does a great job at giving the player a sense of dread and unknown by employing almost purely atmospheric gameplay design. Its story, however, did not live up to the intricately twisted plot of The Darkness Within (I'm not sure it tried to be honest). Still, it was a scary trip that paid homage to Lovecraft and his work and was fun to follow through. Also, props to the devs for making the 3D environments smooth, easily navigable and robust - a huge improvement from The Darkness Within 2 (where I kept falling through the map every 10 feet).

A well made Lovecraftian horror with some decent puzzles and intriguing mystery throughout. The game managed to keep me immersed for the duration with its great sound design and atmosphere. It also has 2 endings so it has some nice replay value there. Overall I'd give it a 7.5/10. Really enjoyed this one.

+ Advantages :
- A very respectful tribute to the world of Lovecraft
- Lots of things to see, to read
- Some nice easter eggs
- Big work on the atmosphere, oppressive at will
- Neat atmo / ambient soundtrack

- Drawbacks :
- Some rhythm concerns
- Primarily reserved for Lovecraft fans
- Riddles too rare and too simple
- Lack of finishing sometimes painful

Summary : You have to love Lovecraft's writings, or at least have devoured The Hallucinated Mountains to fully appreciate Conarium, which knows how to reproduce with great respect and ease the oppressive and palpable atmosphere of the author's short story. The work on the writing and the atmosphere is to be welcomed, and manages to erase the small defects which punctuate the 4 hours of the adventure. If, on the other hand, you are a stranger to the author's work, Conarium could just as easily be a good entry point to the writer's formidable mythology than a somewhat crippling walking simulator, which is not enough anyway, not to himself to gain unanimity.

Conarium tackles the difficult task of capturing Lovecraft’s ephemeral psychological horrors and, for the most part, pulls it off. Sometimes clumsy, sometimes streamlined, sometimes elegant, Conarium is an effective piece of Lovecraftian fiction that does its best to respect the source material while adapting it to an effective interactive experience.

Conarium – Review by 188man

-Spoiler Free-

Conarium is a lovecraftian horror game that was developed by Stormling Studios and published by
Iceberg Interactive in 2017. This game is in first person which is quite similar to many games of the same genre, Monstrum or Amnesia comes to mind.

Mouse & keyboard controls are quite easy to learn as you adapt to them quickly when the game gives you on-screen instructions. Above all, it seems rather easy to control so absolutely no problems there. Almost every action is automatic so no inventory interacting is required, just click and if you have the required item, you can proceed. Very elementary stuff.

When it comes to graphics, it's quite good, considering it's an indie game. The levels are richly colored and the lighting is excellent, every object is brightly showed with high detail. I don't have any qualms about the visuals what so ever.
The architecture is probably the most impressive perspective wise, because it is meant to be otherworldly, so kudos to the level designers. Alien like statues and ornamentation decorate the crumbling halls for most of the game, although some sections are in typical Victorian interior construction. This provides a stark contrast between the worlds. Quite a well spring of lovecraftian graphic design.

I love the sound design whether it be sound effects or music; everything seems very well made. Atmosphere is thick with the sounds of decrepit ruins and echoing abominations untold. Immersion is well earned through these elements, a pair of headphones is definitely recommend for full enjoyment. If you want to get the OST, you can find it in the DLC list of this game on steam.

The narrative is intriguing to say the least. I got swept up very quickly through the experience. Letters, diaries and notes are scattered around the levels as well as flashbacks that you watch first hand. It's very well told, as are many Lovecraft-esque stories.

The game runs for about 4-5 hours, which is short in this day & age of video games. However i think it's quite appropriate, as the gameplay would get stale after a while. It's not a complex game, infact this title falls more into the visual novel category more than anything else. For this fact, it does lend itself to the idea it is a lovecraft story.

When it comes to difficulty, their's practically little of it. You do encounter puzzles but for the most part they're easy to solve. Many would regard this as a walking simulator, which is not unfounded i would say. 'Dear Esther' comes to mind whenever that phrase is coined, i personally don't agree. Their are challenges but they few and far between.

Overall I think it's a good game to go through. However I can imagine many people will be disappointed for the sheer lack of scares or survival elements. It's all about the storytelling and atmosphere for the most part.

I'm a lovecraft fan so i liked this one very much.

7/10

A good game, short but sweet.

The vague of objective in this game really bother me.
Yes you gotta explore.
As a walking horror simulator, I really dislike travelling back and forth between area to find a little things hidden in somewhere to progress when there are lots of room.
If you expect a linear storytelling and clear objective, this is not for you. Get Amnesia instead.

The series makes another change into a walking sim and let's just say if it wasn't Lovecraftian I would say just throw it in the trash and forget about it.

It looks good and I love the references but there's no real gameplay besides the annoying puzzles and a terrible chase sequence at the end of the very short game.

And I mean very short and completely linear. If I didn't get this on sale for a few dollars I'd feel ripped off.

So here we are again, a thumbs up cause I'm so starved for Lovecraftian games and I did like the story and the sightseeing just enough.

A short buy memorable adventure

Positive
+ Graphically well made, with detailed environments and models
+ Interesting setting and overall game design
+ Few scary moments
+ Music and sound design quite good, give a nice atmospheric experience

Negative
- Not clear how some puzzles should be solved
- Odd saving system, once you reach 100 save slots, you need to manually delete them, why ?

Overall, if you like puzzles and have a free time to spend a few evenings on, this might be a game for you.

I hate when games make simple things so difficult. When I find myself trying to do the same thing for the 10th time, I quit. I don't need frustration when I play a game. It should be fun and interesting, not tedious, meaningless, and unnecessarily frustrating. It has the typical tired lovecraft game memes of so many other games that never catch the real flavor of his books. 25/100

I don't understand the negative reviews. This is, by far, the best game set in the Cthulu Mythos universe I've come across. If you've read The Mountains of Madness you can really tell how much effort and love went into this game to replicate that authentic lovecraftian atmosphere, and this shows in the writing especially. I guess that's what I care about when it comes to Lovecraft adaptations - writing and atmosphere. And this game nails both of those things. I don't have much to say about the gameplay. It's difficult to make slow-burn and exploration-based gameplay interesting, but this game does it and it works. Pick up every clue, read every letter, and you'll know what I mean.

Good
- Great ambient music
- Lovecraftian atmosphere

Okay
- Graphics are average, if you don't count the poor looking faces and animations.

Bad
- Story: You are looking for a guy in a cave. There's no plot development or twists, but still they managed to make it confusing by adding dumb surreal stuff. And I guess you can teleport? But that's never explained.
- Gameplay is just walking, reading and doing puzzles. You go deeper into the cave, and you get some visions of the past in between them until the end.
- Player character's voice acting sounds like it's meant for an audio book.
- Confusing, poorly explained achievements.

Precious and loyal contribution for Lovecraftien franchises. Good game from Turkish indie studio.

But something was missing in the game, first of all, explanation process was very awkward. I didn't understand endings well.
Also, it was like one-way walking simulator, not a game. I feel walking in a museum mostly. It is not a bad thing but it could be more thrilling.
Inventory management was awful. There was a device connected glove on our left hand but what was its purpose? No answer. Besides, if you enter a room, you could open all the cabinets or couldn't. Sometimes there were 4 cabinets in a room but you could open only one of them. It is tragic.

Overall: 6/10.

Conarium starts off fairly strong with an intriguing premise and atmosphere but as the story progresses the quality of the experience begins to deteriorate. Rather than embracing the potential insanity it sets up, we are forced to tread painfully familiar grounds; uneventful trekking bestrewn with bland puzzles. Nothing special or memorable.

Another mediocre horror game bearing a Laodicean mark of Lovecraft.

VERDICT:
This is the second lovecraftian story I've played on steam and it's a pretty decent one for sure, there's plenty of puzzles for the length of the game and the story is pretty interesting, but is a little confusing if you're not paying attention to the details. I'd recommend taking the game slow because things can be missed if you're rushing around since there's secrets within the game and will give you a better score at the end of your play through.

Theirs one or two horror scenes but nothing too scary for the gamers who are only interested in the lovecraftian story, I'd say the pricing is a little steep since I completed this under the 5 hour mark but I didn't collect every secret which may play a small part in the game length.
Total Score = 72/100.

a game of exploration with a great sense of fantastic in the world of HP Lovecraft.
Following mountain of madness and other novels , if you like to read Lovecraft it is the best adaptation so far IMHO.
Graphics are great as the sound design.
Really few action phase , more focus on ambiance and reading notes for the mood of horror.
mix science, occult and elder sign and you find a good cocktail for around 5-8 hours depending of your gameplay.

Lovecraft and video games. What a glorious series of... disappointments. So few games could really stand up to its expectations when cosmic horror is involved. Maybe it’s aesthetics and themes are in general to hard to translate into visual medium?
I though so.
Then Conarium happened.

Don’t get me wrong, I
enjoyed plenty of Lovecraft inspired video games. Starting with rather lovely Prisoner Of Ice, from 1995. More recently, I’ve had a good time with last incarnation of Call of Cthulhu despite it’s obvious flaws. Still, I cannot say I’ve ever played a real Lovecraftian game. Game that captures every aspect of his writing and the atmosphere.... without simplifying ideas for a wider audience. There were attempts, yes. Successful ones? Not particular.

Conarium is special because it manages to convey so much Lovecraftian themes ... it’s almost a fan service. Atmospheric adventure game, sunken deep in “At Mountains of Madness” storyline, keeps you on your toes every minute. It’s all so familiar... but also manages to be fresh and engaging. The little things, I say. Footprints that you leave in snow and get scared of it when backtracking. That environmental noises that could be just wind... or maybe something more? Lots, lots of notes, books, journals, memoirs... and your mouse pointer being a source of light when reading. Little things... that build up to a bigger, most powerful picture. Conarium manages to be constantly creepy, never shatters its atmosphere, never jumps the shark. There’s not one line of dialogue that feels out of place or scene that fails to tell a story. Lovecraft would be proud, truly.

Mechanics wise, it’s a story-driven adventure game with occasional puzzles. Well balanced ones, I must say. You won’t be tearing your hair out. There’s always something optional to discover, an additional piece of lore or story... but I won’t lie, Conarium is one time experience, for most people. It is like a good novella. Strong, atmospheric storyline, resembling everything you admire H.P Lovecraft for. First game ever I can truly call “Lovecraftian” without any doubts.

Big, big recommendation.

It has the vibe of lovecraftian horror, but none of the substance. It has the visual effect, but never makes you feel insane, at best, confused.

The level design is workable at best, frustrating at worst.
The immersion is pretty bad with often fourth wall breaking trophies and references to lovecraftian stories.
Inherently references are not bad, but when it seems as if the developers wanted every lovecraftian story in one, it is hard to seperate reference to the important lore.
They made a story with many stories within it, when they really should just have focused on one.

Also there is a bunch of loose ends, shitty mechanics communication, incredibly dull characters with no personality, and inconsistent interactibility for objects, as well as one of THE most unsatisfying endings, that resolve nothing.

Mixed

There are some good things that the developers did a good job of, but I can't give it a thumbs up.

Pro:
The soundtrack creates a successful atmosphere.
The transition effects during hallucinations are immersive.
The elements of the story are faithful to the universe of Lovecraft.
If you like reading.

Con:
It really is a walking simulator. Some puzzles could be complex but most boil down to finding an object that will be used automatically in the right place without leaving a decision to the player. Due to the plot, there is no choice of dialogue. It would have been wise to draw inspiration from good point and click mechanics for the puzzles.
Sound effects are good, but sometimes they are misused. Certain sounds of collapsing or falling objects might make you jump, but for nothing. It works the first time around, then you get used to it and the voluntary suspension of disbelief takes a hit.
The replayability is very low. I wanted to get all the achievements in a second adventure, but the boredom was the greatest. What would hold me back from discovering another game? Nothing, I uninstalled Conarium.

Conclusion:
I bought Conarium on a whim. I got it for 5 euros and I'm still hungry. If you cannot resist the call of the elders, try to answer it with the minimum investment.

I've tried getting into this game on three different occasions, but I just can't. The story is dull, and the puzzles are dumb in the sense that they usually just involve finding X item and using it on Y item. It doesn't always make sense how they're used, leading to a lot of trying items on everything. That is never fun. The game looks and sounds great, though, but still not worth it in my opinion.

Give it a chance. It is not a great game, it has its flaws, its too small, too short, too linear etc.

Still, excellent atmosphere, you can tell they tried to add depth as much as possible.

Conarium is a game set in a lovecraftian world (Inspired by “At the Mountains of Madness”). You have awakened from some sort of strange dream and discover yourself in a research base in Antarctica. You quickly find that something obviously happened here and it has left you stranded and alone. It also becomes clear that huge chunks of your memory are gone. You will task yourself with trying to unravel this mystery. You will accomplish this by collecting research notes, journal entries, items, and more. I will point out that some of these items are simply for collecting, while others will allow you to progress through the game.

I've always been interested in playing games that at least claim to be Lovecraftian, and I will admit right off the bat that this is 100% Lovecraftian. The story, the lore, the mystery, it all screams H.P. Lovecraft, and that locked me into the game from the start. There was a constant vibe of anything that could happen at any moment, it could be a sound or it could be something that flashes before your eyes, whatever it might be I found myself on the edge of my seat dreading/excited/scared of what might happen next all while relying on my trusty flashlight.

Throughout most of the game I was swept up in the flow of the story, there was only one part where I seemed to almost grind to a halt, but outside of that one area I always felt as if any step I took was getting my closer to unveiling the mystery of what the hell happened to me and to all the other researchers stationed at this base. Some have apparently finished this game in an hour or two, and it took me just over five, so you can see that play time does vary, but I do believe that no matter the time you take in this game it’s worth it.

Such an amazing game! I loved every second of it. Every asset is beautiful and the game ran smooth as hell. The story is one of the best stories I have experienced in years. In a world where multiplayer triple A games are ruling the market I am super glad to have found an amazing single player story driven experience. Buy it. Play it. You will not be disappointed.

Having played through one of what seems to be many endings, this game keeps the Lovecraftian Fan (like myself) enthralled throughout the course of unravelling madness. In homage to good 'ol' H.P., Conarium keeps true to the cannon-like lore set in the novels/novellas; at no-point did I feel as though i was playing a standard, run-of-the-mill, horror-walker. Not a jump-scare game. This is an Eldritch game; expect the unexpected.

Good, creepy environments and compelling audio make for an immersive horror exploration game. There is no combat and very few 'game over' scenarios, so if you need those to enjoy your horror gaming experience, look elsewhere.
If you want a well crafted narrative experience with creepy locations and puzzles that will require some thought but not likely send you looking for guides, then this is definitely worth picking up.

Conarium — The Ethereal Stars from Beyond

Conarium is a first-person perspective puzzle/walking simulator, taking place at Upuaut, an Antarctic research base. You are Frank Gilman, an anthropologist. Waking from a vivid dream and finding yourself next to a machine of unknown purposes—humming with sounds and displaying coloured lights dancing on the walls.

https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2207846821

Visually it's great. The details of the holdable items are exceptional, the job when into it must be painstakingly tedious. The environments are distinguished and quite spacious. There are no outstanding graphic issues there are, nevertheless, I did found, two rough texture. The distortions are okay, a visual representation of madness, not an easy feat.

The gameplay may be boring some because it's a walking simulator but to me does the job is particularly well and it's not entirely a walking simulator either. Some puzzles let up as an obstacle, light exploration for finding trophies (some reference to Lovecraft). It does have an obtuse mechanic of staying rooted to the ground during some scenes and some you are not and the star constellation puzzle, wasn't clear—the clue takes the whole circumference of the circle—mistakenly leading to some frustrations on my part.

Music is subtle and moody, reminiscent of their previous games. The ambience is excellent, for every once in a while: Hearing rocks crashing to the ground sent me looking for the cause, being stalk by some indescribable horror. The voice acting is superb.

Conarium is an achievement. In my opinion, honours Lovecraft's works and doing so created an effective pastiche of From Beyond with At The Mountains of Madness as the setting and The Nameless City as the what-if scenario of the ethereal-lizard race association with the D'versahe, interwoven with its special brew guaranteeing a fantastical dreaming to take place from within a necropolis long forgotten. As Frank intermittently relives the past events leading up to expedition to Antarctica, long associate with a previous tragedy 1930-31. The writing of the notes is well-written does an admirable job of establishing the world and backstory, with little to no diversion.

I can't recommend Conarium enough; despite some nip picks on a technical level, and some of the gameplay. Conarium is a grand addition to a Lovecraftian's library and fans of horror. I will suggest following Stormling Studios (formerly Zeotropic Interactive), for future game development as they've got a neck for creating great Lovecraftian stories to be told.

Purports to be a lovecraftian game by plastering as much obvious lovecraft symbolism across the board while offering nothing unique or interesting.
I see a lot of reviews praising the atmosphere but honestly, it's just statues of fish people from the get go and for the majority of the game.
Puzzles range from boring to overly time consuming
The chase segments are pathetic
Constant flashbacks to shout exposition at you, allowing you to neither experience nor think about anything happening without the voice of god telling you what you're looking at
No horror or existentialism to be found, just a few wasted hours.

Very nice atmosphere, but about as much fun as watching paint dry. For me at least.

Design is simply horrendous. It's not only boring, but also incredibly frustrating at times with constant backtracking at slow pace, labyrinth-like level design and idiotic puzzles. I really don't understand how you can make something look so good and be so dull at the same time...

One of the worst walking simulator I've ever played. For die-hard fans of Lovecraft only. It's too bad, because they really nailed his vibe right.

Conarium is very interesting due to the lovecraftian vibes and what story there is but puzzles and item hunting to progress through the story can drag certain parts of the game on for too long and the first chase scene has such a rediculous requirement to pull off I was almost willing to give up on the game but I wanted to see it through since I started and I'm stubborn like that. All in all no matter what good feelings I might have toward the game, I would not recommend it to anyone.

Very atmospheric, a lot of time spent on the art and environment. But the gameplay is very frustrating. Because many empty cabinets, drawers, and rooms can be opened there is a lot of time spent poking around, yet it is still easy to miss picking up an important item. I just came to a mechanism that clearly needed a handle in a vast underground cave. Turns out I missed the handle 2 distant rooms back in a box I didn't know I could reach (thanks walkthrough). I turn the handle and nothing apparently happens. But actually it exposed a puzzle directly behind me (sigh). The puzzle needs medallions that I missed, so I backtrack for those in a very hidden spot (thanks again walkthrough). I did find the solution to the puzzle, so I put them in the right order and... nothing. No feedback at all that I have it right. Turns out I then have to return to the first handle, turn it *again* (walkthrough!), and then there's at least a suggestive sound that something has happened.

I'm a fan of Lovecraft, and the glowing reviews on Steam made me think this might finally be a definitive -- or at least *good* -- videogame adaptation. Not so much.

It's extremely unpolished, for starters. The graphics are rudimentary with many ugly textures and poorly done effects, yet it's AAA-title-level GPU intensive (at least on my system). Graphic options mysteriously reset themselves, even during gameplay. In a three-monitor setup on full screen, my mouse kept escaping the game window to the right and losing focus. Nothing here is a major dealbreaker, but everything feels at least slightly janky.

Gameplay-wise, it's just solidly uninteresting: a super basic puzzler involving clicking on everything until you find the secret cutscene trigger or (ugh) disconnected handle that needs to be attached to something to progress. It's completely linear, and the only side content or reward for exploration are some bonus items that don't seem to do anything.

But more importantly, it's just not great Lovecraft content. Much of the story seems to be told through fragments of writing you discover, and clearly an attempt was made to write these in something like a Lovecraftian antiquarian style. Whoever did the writing didn't quite have the knack for it, however, and the results are often painfully cringey in that fifth-grader-who-just-discovered-a-thesaurus sort of way. In terms of story elements, it's clearly mainly inspired by Mountains of Madness but doesn't attempt to meaningfully continue that story. It's less Lovecraft, and more an inexpert pastiche that throws various mythos and mythos-inspired ideas at the wall to see what sticks.

About the only good thing I can really say about it is that the atmosphere is fairly spooky (not to say scary, in that nothing in the game is really a threat to you), and some of the environment designs were kinda cool.

Great unreal engine visuality. However, nothing more.
Unfortunately, some of the indie games cannot go beyond simple exploration walking simulator unreal demo. Got the approach from positive steam reviews, but the gameplay stayed so raw. Main issues do to making adventure games such as pointing your cursor exactly the right place is in this game too. Clearly, even though you figured the correct solution of a puzzle, when you missed the cursor one pixel off target's exact point, you're starting to think this is not the correct path to move on. You're starting to move around about 45 minutes for just to give up and watch the solution from youtube to see this misspoint ruined your game experience. How much I liked the atmosphere is not changing the game's flow breaking issues. Nothing like the outside, not recommended.

I don't like leaving a review of the game without putting too much time into it, but the fact is I couldn't get this game to run well enough to play it. For reference, I'm playing on a laptop that can run Fallout 76 on medium-high settings while keeping a constant 60 fps, and not only does that game have a large open world but it is also a multiplayer game. Conarium is a single player linear puzzle/adventure game by contrast yet even on all low settings I'm getting inconsistent fps that goes from 7 fps only up to about 48 fps, and some of that's in the cutscenes. It doesn't stay at one fps for more than a second and doesn't even stay in a certain range, it goes extreme high to extreme low. Maybe if I play it on my desktop I can get it to run, but like I said this laptop is a beast. It can run almost every high-end game at at least medium settings. I also wonder if since the fps is so wonky even during the cutscenes that it's just an unoptimized game.

This game is basically a walking simulator with a few puzzles. I completed game in 8 hours with all available collectables.

Anything good? Yep, Graphics are amazing and game runs super duper smooth. Story was interesting but at the end it left some things unexplained or forgotten. Game has 2 endings but both are kinda weak, if you ask me.

Worth the full price? I would say yes, but only if you don't expect too much from it, as i said it's basically a walking simulator with little actual gameplay and interaction. Still it's a great game, plus before playing i recommend reading Lovecraft's novel ''At the Mountains of Madness'' that takes place before the Conarium.

Conarium, I may argues is the most Lovecraftian game that I have played, so far. It captures the essense of Lovecraftian story very well -- fear of the unknown, at least so far. I'll continue playing the game and see what happens after. The only complain, not to this game, but to the whole genre, is that puzzles are generally too easy and too...human.

I really enjoyed the atmosphere! The pacing felt right most of the way through with only a few instances of me getting stuck on puzzles to slow it down. It holds faithful to the style of Lovecraft with its writing and visual depictions and I couldn't appreciate that more. Having read 'At the Mountains of Madness', I can say that it was a fantastic depiction of the universe!

Few people will probably do this but I would totally recommend reading the book before playing the game. Or if you really enjoyed the experience, read it after!

I did not enjoy it, not in the slightest. It is tedious, boring and full of constant backtracking. it's an equivalent of a pixel hunting in a 3d space. Every second I did not spend wondering where I should go and what item to plug where I would spend fighting with boredom. Even $5 price sounds like a bit too much for this game.

A quite nice atmospheric first person horror games. It's mostly a walking simulator with a horror atmosphere, with some puzzles thrown in along the way. If you like games like Amnesia and Layers of fear, you will probably like this game.

Pros:
*Nice graphics (unreal engine)
*Good lovecraftian atmosphere
*Pretty good script and storyline, and also decent voice acting
*No bugs (as far as I found), and pretty good performance overall.

Cons:
*The puzzles can sometimes be a bit confusing and unclear. So you might have to look something up online.
*The game is a bit short, you will probably finish it in about 5 hours.
*About 2/3 into the game there is a sequence where you get chased, which didn't really feel like it fit in to the game, and was also a bit exhausting to do.

Overall I enjoyed this short little game.

this overall impressive game is 90% awesome and 10% disappointing.

90% awesome
playing conarium is quite the experience.
it looks and feels really good with great graphics, interesting environments, dense atmosphere and a gripping story.
it's a walking simulator so you will spend all your time walking, exploring, reading notes and solving puzzles. the puzzles are kind of easy but in this case that's actually a good thing. i'd rather progress through game and story at a constant pace than stopping dead for 20 minutes to solve each puzzle. you just never feel bored when playing this way.

10% disappointing
i can't say too much without giving away too much of the game but i certainly feel like some elements of the game could have used more depth or general usefulness.
also at the end of the game a lot of questions remain unanswered but i guess this is very often the case with games like this one.

completing the game took about 8 hours (ocd-grade exploration) plus some extra time for 100% achievements.

this was my first 'lovecraftian' game since i don't know how many years and i guess i need more of this now!
absolutely worth buying & playing!

WARNING FOR SPOILERS:
It's not a bad game, in all, the graphics are good and there are some really interesting concepts to be had. The fact that its' a dev team of 2 and there are only 2 vas makes me want to give it a bit of leeway too, because that's rad and they should be very proud of themselves! But there was a lot of padding. There was a sequence in which you had to learn all new controls in order to pilot a submarine for 15 minutes (or 30 because the game froze) which was boring and monotonous. There was almost a scare too, two different monsters showed up! One of them doesn't affect you at all and the other one it's really hard to tell if you're supposed to be afraid of it. It's supposed to get you so its for a transition sequence. But it was a transition sequence, then the next time I died to it, then the third time it was transition sequence, so it just felt really off. Good concepts though.
