Blue Toad Murder Files?: The Mysteries of Little Riddle is a one to four player co-operative episodic download game published by Relentless Software.
Set in the sleepy village of Little Riddle, the main aim of the game is to follow clues to find the murderer. Along the way you'll also encounter a variety of different and challenging puzzles which help you move through the peaceful world of Little Riddle.
As one of the detectives you move around the village by selecting locations on the map. Visit the doctor at his surgery and hear his flimsy alibi. Meet with the Station Master and learn his motive. Exploring the village and meeting the villages is key to unraveling The Mysteries of Little Riddle. The villagers have information and puzzles to solve that you must complete to reveal the truth!
With each step of the investigation a puzzle is played and further clues about the case are revealed. Pay attention to what transpires ? you will regularly be questioned on your knowledge of the case, and only observant detectives will learn the truth behind the events of their day.
Whodunnit? At the end of every episode you will be asked to choose your suspect before the true culprit is revealed and exposed in all their criminal capacities!

Wir machen Urlaub in Little Riddle und vor unseren Augen passiert ein Mord. So beginnt die Geschichte und führt uns in 6 Episoden mit je 12 Rätsel- und Knobelaufträgen zum Mörder. Optisch ansprechend und gut vertont im Stil der Miss Marple Filme. Leider nur komplett in Englisch, dass man auch beherrschen sollte. Der Aufbau der Episoden ist immer gleich: Man wird durch die Storyline geschleift und erhält alle 3-5 Minuten eines der Rätsel, welches man in einer vorgegebenen Zeit lösen soll. Dafür gibt es dann je nach gelungenem Abschluss Gold, Silber oder eine Bronze Medaille. Am Schluss der Episode wird der Gewinner gekürt, dass nur im lokalen 4-Spieler.Modus Sinn macht. Den hab ich nicht probiert, aber alleine wird es aufgrund des Aufbaus schnell langweilig. Zudem ähneln sich die Aufgaben sehr, die Story auch kein Knaller. Die Spielzeit beträgt ca. 6 Stunden gesamt, ich quälte mich für den Review länger durch. Ab der 3. Episode war ich eigentlich bedient und hatte auf das Spiel keine Lust mehr.

In 6 Kapitel unterteilt, die jeweils eine kurze Geschichte erzählen. Dabei gehen ca 5 minuten Geschichte auf ein meisst extrem einfaches 1-2 minuten Rätsel. Ein Kapitel dauert etwa 1 Stunde.

Ganz lustig aber für Knobler zu einfach.

One guy voiced a grandma, another grandma, and another grandma. They all sound pretty unique. Neat.

I really enjoyed this game and hope there is a sequel. You spend time in the village trying to help solve several murders that take place and investigating the several members of the community, all of them being silly but so is the game! There are a ton of riddles and games to keep it interesting after each interview of a suspect but if you try several times and give up just take it lightly when the narrator calls you anything but smart. I loved the humor throughout and got lucky enough to guess several of the murderers even if I couldn't master several of the puzzles. I intend to play this again and I don't always find a game I want to do that with. I think you would enjoy it too. Take your time and pay close attention to what is said and observe things in a room or location.

Just finished playing this with the fam. Everyone loved it. Hours of rollicking laughter mixed with bitter fighting over puzzle solutions. Voice acting is top notch and dialog perfectly over the top. If you don't like stereotypes though, stay away. Reminds me of Keeping Up Appearances. Puzzles are just the right challenge level for kids 10-14, but most were also challenging to the adults. Nothing rage inducing though. All solutions were achievable and we had to agree with them, even when we were wrong. This was loads of fun. It's been 7 years since release though, so little chance of a sequel. I'd buy it if there was.

Fun for the whole family.

This game presents a classic British Whodunit. The setting, the investigators, the impeccable slightly over the top British narrator and the characters straight out of any Agatha Christie mystery (if slightly exaggerated) make this a pleasure to watch: this game has got it pinned down perfectly. Sure, you'll be solving casual puzzles (you can pass the controller around round-robin fashion for up to 4 players, the rest'll just have to spectate), but it's the Britishness, the Whodunit-ness, the mayor, the constable, the butcher, the librarian, the doctor, the miller, Lady Snobbish, the gossipy old ladies, the colonel and everyone else who bring this home.

In short, the game is 6 episodes of ~45 minutes each (that somehow add up to 6.9 hours on the account we played it on, but presumably that includes getting everyone settled on the couch etc.). If the trailer appeals to you, the game delivers exactly that in spades, at a bargain price.

This is a fun game. The puzzles are very well done and I like how they are all a bit different so you do not get bored. Some are harder then others and takes a bit of thinking. Over all it is a lot of fun. Even though I have beated the game I may play it some more.

This is a great game, combining the dry, dead-pan humor of the UK with some great animation and (most importantly) a well-designed puzzle game. I highly recommend it.

Most of the mystery games I've played are 80% find the hidden items and a few memory puzzles or recycled logic problems. Not Blue Toad, however. Although at first glance it seems like a kids game, the puzzles are a lot more advanced (sometimes frustrating). There are good mixes of logic and word problems, a few math puzzles and more as well as deductive reasoning and recall tests.
The only downside was that some of the rules were poorly explained. I was eventually able to figure most of them out.
Great game - looks nice, good variety of puzzles, and fun characters. Worth a play!

An easier, more entertaining version of Professor Layton games. With some of the funniest characters I have seen in a long time.

Also no one seems to use their arms. 10/10

I recommend this for anyone who loves puzzles, mysteries and a good dose of humor. The puzzles are surprisingly varied and test not only your memory and deduction skills but also math skills and the size of your English vocabulary, amongst other skills. While not probably worth the full price, get it when it's on sale and you'll get your money's worth of fun times.
