BlazBlue ist in meinen Augen eines der besten Arcade-Fighting-Games und müsste eigentlich populärer sein als es ist. Für mich hat sich BlazBlue in den letzten Jahren zu DEM Prügelspiel entwickelt.

Positiv:
+ Handgezeichnete Sprites - EIN ABSOLUTER AUGENSCHMAUS
+ Extrem guter Soundtrack
+ Viele verschiedene Modi
+ Keine käuflich zu erwerbenden Personalisierungsgegenstände (keine DLC's, kein Schnickschnack)
+ Wenig erfolgreich spambare Moves
+ Das Spiel ist sehr japanisch (Ansichtssache: Wer den Anime-Stil mag, kommt hier auf seine Kosten)

Negativ:
- Der Arcade-Mode-Boss ist auf dem Anfänger-Schwierigkeitsgrad für Anfänger UM WELTEN zu hart
- Es ist schwieriger defensiv zu spielen (á la Street Fighter) - ANSICHTSSACHE (mir gefällt BB in diesem Punkt)

Empfehlung: Die meiste Präzision erzielt ihr mit einem so genannten Arcade- bzw. Fight-Stick, da manche Combos (speziell auf einem Xbox360-Gamepad) extrem schwierig auszuführen sind. ACHTUNG: Diese Investition lohnt sich erst, wenn man merkt, dass man in puncto schnelle Ausführung mit dem Gamepad an seine Grenzen gelangt.

Von mir gibt es eine absolute Kaufempfehlung. -> Am besten auf Calamity Trigger einen Main-Char finden und diesen lernen, dazu noch den Story-Mode genießen und danach in BlazBlue Continuum Shift Extend investieren und online laddern.

Sofort zuschlagen oder zumindest auf die Wunschliste setzen, denn der Summer-Sale wird kommen. ;-)

BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger ist der erste BlazBlue-Teil den ich mir gekauft habe aber definitiv nicht der letzte. Story-technisch ist das Spiel weitaus ausgeprägter als zum Beispiel Tekken oder Street Fighter. Die Charaktere sind allesamt interessant, haben eine sehr faszinierende Geschichte und sind im generellen auch nicht zu verachten/hassen.

Vom Gameplay her ist BlazBlue ein Traum, es gibt keinerlei Input-Lag, mit meinem Xbox360-Controller konnte ich mir die Steuerung ohne große Mühe aneignen und jeder Charakter spielt sich anders, ist aber dennoch genauso leicht zu erlernen wie jeder andere.

Das einzige was ich an diesem Spiel sehr schade finde ist, dass der Netcode und somit der Online-Multiplayer entfernt wurde. Ich würde gerne mit meinen Freunden spielen, auch wenn sie mal keine Zeit haben um rüberzukommen.

Ansonsten ist BlazBlue ein sehr gutes Fighting-Game und ich hoffe es werden noch mehr BlazBlue-Teile auf den PC geportet, am liebsten mit Netcode/Multiplayer.

Schnelles, flüssiges Old-School Beat-Em-Up Gameplay vom Feinsten. Wer 2D Prügler mag, wird BlazBlue Calamity Trigger lieben. Zwölf Charaktere, Story Mode, Arcade und mehr. Einziger Wehrmutstropfen: Durch den Wegfall von Games on Windows Live bietet das Spiel keinen Online-Multiplayer Support mehr.

Schade aber dennoch empfehlenswert.

PS: Lokal ist Spielen mit Freunden natürlich trotzdem möglich :D

How in hell does a game from 2008 run at A STAPLE 31 FPS???????
I can run CF with a staple 60+.
Any commands I do are apparently too fast for the game to read them.
This is a really poorly-optimized game.
The only thing that can be used to justify this purchase is the story, which you can watch on YouTube for free.
Only difference is that you won't be the one clicking to progress the text.
In conclusion, this game is not worth it in 2022.
Only reason I have not applied for a refund is because I wanna have all the BB games in my library LMAO

I'm noob in fighting games but this was one. Story was interesting although quite convoluted. The characters feel and look different. Though some feel quite weak.
Had fun learning the basics of fighting games from this game.

I loved BlazBlue purely from watching the story on youtube. Brought this game to keep it as a kind of memory. I don't buy games usually. Its a nice game as I can observe from playing. Gameplay is as very hard like your usual fighting game and I am enjoying learning it slowly. The story is nice and still playing through it. Got a lot of info I didn't have about it too, BB story is very hard to piece up but it is beautiful. This game is the trigger of it all ;)

Amazing game! I first played this in a Japantown arcade in San Francisco with friends and I instantly fell in love with it! I'm so glad I finally got it here on Steam for a cheap price. This game is the only fighter style game I've ever seen that has amazing 2D and 3D graphics like the ones in this game. I'm always blown away by the graphics and music when I play! I don't care for the voice acting, I would have much preferred the Japanese voice acting instead but that's just a preference. The game is fun, beautiful to look at and amazing to play with friends!

Edit: I forgot to add that if you buy this you're mainly gonna be playing the arcade and versus modes, not the story mode. The story mode is bad since it seemed forced in (the main game seems to be the arcade mode). Play story mode for more lore but you can read the lore online and the gameplay isn't as fun compared to arcade mode.

Bought this during the C-Series sale and I've got to say, It's still an amazing game even in 2020. Decent controls and easy to learn mechanics if you've played any fighting game before. The story is fragmented, but not all too difficult to piece together and actually quite good. 10/10 would recommend.

While a fun fighting game on it's own, it's a terrible port for taking out the online support and achievements, which also permanently lock you out of getting some unlockables. Good looking for a 10 year old fighting game, fairly easy to pick up if you have basic knowledge of fighting games, and a diverse roster to chose from. Although, the story is a hot mess of convoluted bullshit and fails to explain itself at all. Plus, there's basically no player base for this entry, so the only way to play with others is to invite them over to your house or play via remote play. I would highly recommend skipping this game unless you're a fan of the series already or you're really wanting to start the series from the very beginning.

I played this game on the psp before, so I was very excited that it was on steam and playing it again. I was never into 2D fighting games , but I really enjoyed this game before and playing it again is even more exciting! I love this game so much and I highly recommend this game especially since the stories are really good too!

A great fighting game for beginners and experts alike. A colourful cast of characters my personal favourite being Taokaka a strange catlike creature expertly voiced and adds some comedic elements to the story. Speaking of this game had tons of content for its time with multiple story paths and a decent amount of content to each story instead of the usual couple of lazily written lines slapped on as was seen with most fighting games. You don't need a masters degree to learn each character and instead can focus on having fun.

Absolute butchering of a great game with a unbelievably bad port, the fact that this shit is still up with the bugs it has and the fact that they ruined the first game in the series is borderline D I S G R A C E F U L

-random 30fps cap bug, random times the game will keep jumping from 60 fps to 30 fps lock, does have a fix that requires you to change DEP settings...
-the game will randomly input whatever you have the left trigger assigned to, even when you arent pressing ANYTHING, even if you have NO CONTROLLER plugged in
-music in story mode scenes are completely gone from the console version, despite the files for them still being included in the game's directory, basically bloating the file size with files that are straight up useless anyway.

I loved this back when I played it on console back when it was first released, so I was excited to revisit the entire series, only to be kicked in the dick with this godawful butchering of one of my favorite games.

The only reason I have this still is because I bought this as part of the BB collection bundle back when it was on sale, which means I can't get a refund on it. Avoid this trash port unless for some reason they finally decide to pull their heads of their butts and fix it. If you're like me and want to revisit the series from the beginning for its 10th anniversary, go pick up the console version on Xbox360/ps3, or the psp version. OR emulate with either RPCS3 or ppsspp. There is no excuse for this port still remaining on here in its current state.

The game has hidden input mappings that also change when you modify your settings meaning no matter your input configuration it'll always be something different. On top of that the game displays the wrong inputs for moves that match neither.

Do you like great fighting games? If you answered yes, then go get it. It's a good buy.

LONG VERSION
BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger is a 2D fighting game, and the first entry of the BlazBlue franchise followed by Continuum Shift and Chrono Phantasma.

Calamity Trigger features 12 fighters, each with their unique gameplay, strengths and weaknesses.
As a fighting game it's important to mention that the game can be played excellent on keyboard without any trouble. The combos are fairly easy, and you will always find new ways to chain them into better ones.
The controls are responsive and there's no delay at all. Graphics wise the game looks gorgeous: the 2D sprite models are looking good, and blend well into the 3D background, while animations are smooth and beautiful as well.
Aside from the usual story mode, there is an Arcade mode for every character, mini-games and tons of unlockable artworks to keep you busy for a long time!

However like most games, Calamity Trigger has its' flaws too: first off the Developers removed the multiplayer, though it was part of the game for the Games For Windows Live release, and second the game tends to have 30 FPS limit sometimes due to a bug. To fix the 30FPS limit you have to restart your PC, aside from this issue, the game runs smooth with 60FPS cap.

Overall Blazblue: Calamity Trigger is an amazing fighting game. I can highly recommend this to anyone, whether you're new to fighting games or a veteran in the genre.
And as a Guilty Gear/Blazblue fan is a no-brainer to buy, since it increases the chance of seeing more recent games from the developers on Steam!

PRO
- Graphics are beautiful. The 2D sprite models seemlessly blend into the 3D background.
- Animations look smooth and polished.
- Soundtrack is amazing.
- The game features 2 different language voice acting: Japanese and English. Both are solid.
- Controls are responsive. The game plays smooth. Combos are easy to pull off. Can be played with keyboard without any difficulties.

CONS
- Lack of multiplayer.
- Occational 30 FPS cap bug. To fix the FPS limit you have to restart your PC.
- Steam cloud doesn't work, though it's shown on store page.

One of the most animeish fighting game I ever played; the aesthetic, the opening song, the voice actors. Fun gameplay. Fun story, although it's kinda annoying to get 100% because you have to lose on purpose.

Some issues with this Steam version:
- Random 30 fps lock. I had to restart game, restart pc, and update graphic driver. One of these will probably fix it.
- No Steam cloud save
- No Steam achievements even though there are achievements to unlock some arts in gallery
- Weird uncustomizable menu navigation keyboard mapping, for e.g you have to hit Esc to continue in Arcade mode

Absolutely incredible fighting game despite the limited roster. Every character feels fleshed and none feel horribly underpowered like other fighting games out there. Additionally the main story mode has one of the greatest payoffs for going through the entirety of it, and has an extremely unique premise that is built upon by future games, making this game very important to the timeline. Being trapped in a time loop for 12 gameplay hours and finally breaking free is extremely satisfying. $9.99 is a bit expensive if you only play the story however it has a lot of side content to help keep you playing. Well worth it, sale or no sale.

It is a shame they removed online multiplayer for the Steam ver. (although I heard there are mods to change this) but if you like a story that keeps having you ask questions, this is a good buy. There are some people who say that it's better to just get BBCSE since it includes Calamity Trigger Reconstruction. But if you really want to get into depths with the story, you should buy this game.

Other than that, music good, story good, collect cg fun, seeing yourself improve funner :D

so I have a Ryzen 5 2400g, 32GB of RAM and an NVIDIA GTX1050TI and this game stutters like John Paul Larkin grabbed a live powerline. check the negative reviews, they confirm this just is a terrible port, avoid x_x

What is BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger ?

For a game that sells itself for such a cheap price Im completely ok with looking past a certain issues it has such as having a few troubles with performance and other config issues like having to restart my pc to run it at a stable framerate (the port is not good), the fact that its roster is so small and limited (only 12 characters, really ???) and a few control issues, despite all of that this game is a really good cheap fighting game for someone who just want to play a smaller scale entry on that genre without thinking too much and just going in, the artstyle and soundtrack are great and the gameplay works well enough, its the usual stuff you see in other ASW games, an arcadey fighting game, not one of my favorites like pulling combos is a bit hard here and the flow is different, I prefer combo-a-thon games like Killer Instinct when it comes for fighting games but its competent, its cheap, its a well-done game, so its pretty much worth checking out.

Very Fantastic FIghter game For less than 10 dollars USD the game is really good i prefer the newer games of the Blazblue series but this is probably one of my favorites. Its has a vast story mode where you can the characters bio and backstory its a remote play game the new feature where only one person has to buy the game so you guys wanna 1v1 or something you guys can! there is no online feature in the base game but you can do it with mods which makes the game far better that it is in my opinion although you can get many hours playing the story arcade time attack and also by collecting all the galleries and soundtracks hidden within the game its a standard fighter and if your into that than this game is perfect for you:0

BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger is a good 2D fighting game and the big plus for me was the support for a controller.

The controller support for me was a big improvement since I am terrible when it comes to pressing these long combinations (on a keyboard) to trigger the special moves - now you can just assign that moves to a single button of your choice and just focus on the fighting itself instead of struggling with the long sequences.

The story mode is a visual novel that separated into different stories involving the different characters where their route will be determined if the won or lost the fighting sequences in between the dialogues or some decisions made in between.
The main issue with the story mode that it’s a choir to complete it since some of the routes per a story need to be repeated a few times over and over again with some minor changes in your actions (what do you need to do? Use a guide).

Can I recommend this? Maybe on a deep discount since the story mode can be annoying to complete and the fact that there is no online mode.

This is a fantastic hand-drawn 2D fighting game from the wonderful Guilty Gear team! The game may have been more balanced with an expanded roster in future iterations, but this one set the precedent. And it's still great!

So far I'm really enjoying this game. Fast paced fighting and an interesting roster of characters. The story is interesting too, although the branching paths in Story mode sometimes feels like a chore. This port seems to have a few bugs but it's managable, definitely recommend regardless!

Delicious introduction into the Blazblue world with insight upon its diverse storyline and characters, with easy-to-use controls! ^^

I have to admit the hooks built into this game really leaves lesser games in the dust. Lets compare this to SF X Tekken - A game completely overshadowed by other SF titles but still technically decent. Lets say you don't play competitively and only single player and leave net code things out of this - Which one to get? Definitely this one. The story is ABSOLUTELY WHACK. So nuts in fact that at first the weird story is a downer but as you go for more story unlocks it gets much more deeper. Fighting itself is weird as every character is some kind of trick character more or less. A couple of guys have more traditional aggressive swordplay moves but learning even the basics of characters is a fun process and definitely a worthy journey for those who don't care to spend endless hours on one 'main'. I know there are tons of pro's and con's more advanced players can put on the table but for old couch beat em up casuals as me the mix of things this game brings to the table is mesmerizing enough to actually want to go forward and maybe even move on to the (better?) sequels.

All in all a very good (and cheap) starter to see if you like the series.

This game is super fun and good to spent time, The arcade is fun and not too hard or to easy. The story is nice.

Really wonderful, played through Arcade mode for Ragna and unlocked Unlimited Ragna. It provides training mode with different practice settings.

Would love to see BBCS, BBCSII and BBCS:EX on Steam for PC as well.
