Blameless ist ein 3D-Adventure, dessen Schwerpunkt auf dem Lösen von Rätseln und auf der Geschichte liegt. Es spielt in einem unfertigen Haus, in dem der Spieler versucht, vor einem mysteriösen Mann zu fliehen. Zwar weiß der Spieler, wie und warum er dort hin gelangt ist, doch er konnte den hinterhältigen Grund nicht ahnen, aus dem er dorthin geführt wurde. Es liegt an ihm, zu untersuchen, was passiert ist und wie ihm die Flucht gelingt.

Dies ist ein kurzes aber abgeschlossenes Spiel mit offenem Ende. Etwa 20 bis 60 Minuten sind nötig, um es zu lösen.

Wichtig ist, das Spiel ist kostenlos. Die Grafik ist jetzt nicht überragend aber ganz okay. Story technisch fand ich es auch wirklich gut mit einer interessanten Wendung am Schluss. Es ist sehr kurz und manche Stellen fand ich auch etwas tricky weil ich nicht ganz wusste, was genau ich jetzt tun sollte. Außer das es halt im Dunkeln spielt, finde ich es auch nicht wirklich gruselig. Es war also ganz okay und da es nicht wirklich viel Zeit in Anspruch nimmt, kann man es auch ruhig mal Spielen.

Man kann hier 2 verschiedene Enden erreichen.
Was mir auf gefallen war, dass man wirklich auf die kleinsten Dinge achten muss. xD

Ich hab 20 Minuten gebraucht um zu raffen dass ich einen Schlüssel im Schloss hab stecken lassen.

Einfach geil gemacht.
Hätte nie gedacht dass mich es so fesseln konnte super grafik,geile Atmosphäre man hat dass Gefühl jeden moment passiert was und definitv hat man dass Gefühl dass jemand einen die ganze Zeit beobachtet.
Ich fand es leider etwas kurz man ist innerhab von 30 min leider durch ich habe es zweimal gespielt weil ich hoffte es gäbe noch ein alternativ Ende dies war aber leider nicht der Fall :/

Ich frage mich, warum das Spiel kostenlos ist. Eventuell ein Vorgeschmack für etwas größeres? ;)
Ich würde es sofort kaufen bitte mehr davon :)

Blameless handelt von einem Architekten, der zu einem Haus gerufen wird, um dort innenarchitektonische Arbeiten zu verrichten. Der Hausbesitzer lasst diesen durch die Garage in das Haus und schlägt den Architekten K.O.
Der Spieler nimmt die Rolle des Architekten an und muss sich durch das Lösen von Rätseln einen Ausweg aus diesem Haus schaffen. Dabei stösst er auf Dinge, die er lieber nicht gefunden hätte wollen.

Die Atmosphäre ist echt gut gemacht und auch die Grafik des Spieles ist echt gut gemacht. Es gibt auch diverse Schreckmomente, jedoch manche sind schon ein bisschen vorhersehbar. Ich spielte das Spiel relativ schnell durch, fand es aber gar nicht so störend. Es ist ein nettes Spiel für zwischendurch. Aus Neugierde, ob es auch andere Endings gibt, spielte ich es ein zweites Mal druch, wurde aber enttäuscht. Aber vielleicht habe ich auch etwas übersehen ;-)

Auf jeden Fall empfehle ich dieses Spiel jeden Indie-Game-Zocker und jeden Spieler, der gerade so ein bisschen Spuk und Horror aushalten kann.

Pretty boring. Took me half an hour to finish. 100% linear with a story that isn't that good. If it was fleshed out into a longer game with more to do besides find a couple items and cut wires or pick up bricks, it wouldn't be as bad.

Blameless is a 3D adventure focused on puzzle solving and story. Set in an unfinished house, the player is trying to escape a mysterious man. While you know how and why you got there, you could not foresee you were invited for a twisted purpose and it’s upto you to investigate what happened and how to get out.

This is a short, yet full title with an open ending. Take around 20 to 60 minutes to complete.

You can smash this game in like 5 minutes. The use of voice lines was a bit much, I don't really need you to read the letter for me, plus the intro was long and bland. It was a free game, so I get why it's not that great, but if you need something to waste time with then give it a try.

A good little horror adventure game. Most of the puzzles were pretty straightforward and easy but there was one that surprised me. I really liked the voice acting and the general chosen locale. It was a pretty detailed construction site. Very messy and visually fun to look through.

This is a pretty good puzzle game where you have to unlock puzzles to escape the location that you were spawned in. It's nothing special but it was pretty fun probably better than most puzzle games or something.

Interesting little game, which is pretty creepy. If you are like me though, you are frustrated at the police for taking away the protagonist for murder, and there is no way to prevent this >:( but maybe that is for Blameless 2, if that ever comes. 10/10 would play again.

Escape from a construction site in this short but effective horror game.

The Positives
+ An impressive first-person mystery that costs absolutely nothing to play.
+ Attempts and succeeds in building an unnerving atmosphere right from the beginning.
+ Decent graphics for a free product.
+ Some odd but interesting puzzles—use tools around the site to progress.

The Negatives
- What little story there was could've been better.
- Ending remains unchanged despite there being two distinct ways to escape.

Doesn’t rely on flavourless jump scares, nor includes mountains of keys and notes. Easy to get achievements, if that's what you're into.

Opinions are my own and reflect my experience.

Really kinda boring. I've tried to give it a shot couple of times but every time I would get bored within 2 minutes. Graphically not bad, mechanics are working alright, idea was okay but execution kind of failed, at least it did for me. It is free game, so if you have some free time give it a shot, you might like it but this definitely wasn't my cup of tea.

This is a short detective puzzle game where your character is kidnapped and needs to escape the area. So the puzzles are quite easy to complete, however due to the achievements you need to complete certain parts of the areas in a certain way. You unlock all the achievements before completing the game, however I was unable to complete the game due to a glitch. My character tried to exit through the garage door and the kidnapper came to knock me out. I was unable to crouch to get out under the door and the kidnapper knocked me out. Thereafter every time my game loaded I only saw the moon and the rest of the area did not load, therefore I was unable to complete the game and escape.

Other than that the game ran quite smoothly with a really unique art style. The story and so on is a bit lacking, but for a free to play game it is really good and expected. Usually the developer will make another game with a bit more meat on the story, so for a short free to play game it was more than sufficient.

Overall I would recommend this game to everyone out there and it has easy achievements for those achievement hunters out there.

Blameless is a short puzzle game with a detective storyline. In this game, the character is an architect who will try to solve a murder mystery in a house under construction. The plot is simple: there was a murder there and to solve it you need clues and evidence that lead to the culprit. Although the title of the game seems to indicate something different, a guilty person or someone to blame, in fact it is about the narrative twist that leads to the genuine end of the story. The innocent becomes guilty, but we don't know more about the story. Because when discovered by the police, our character becomes the culprit and while the murderer has vanished into the shadows. The story ends in a mysterious way. The game retains that uncertainty for a solid ending. On the other hand, the puzzles are affordable and many times it is about the logical relationship between the object, the part, and its function somewhere. Nothing difficult to solve. About the narration, there are some documents that clarify the plot of the game a bit. The documents are fully developed their narrative. There is a vagueness in the brief development of the character and the victim-evidence correlation. The design of the game has allowed the execution of appropriate mechanics. To solve a certain puzzle, you must search and explore all over the place until you find the puzzle piece. There are few objects that you can interact with and it will be easy to solve the puzzle to make your way to the next area of the place. Despite being a short game, it has an attractive content due to its narrative with shades of police mystery. And sometimes, you can feel a tension of heaviness and uncertainty, of something that is lurking from the dark. A short and indie game that is worth exploring its content.

For a free to play game this one is very good in how the character is set up to solve puzzles. You move from one room to another until you are outside where you have to figure out how to escape the property. The story is great because you are Mr. Blameless working as an architect that is set up as a murderer. Can be completed in less than thirty minutes with 100% achievements unlocked. Rate 6/10 based on the length of story and lack of action.

Pointless. Controls are clunky, the game spoils which tools you need through which ones it allows you to equip and the plot is both half-baked and nonsensical. Essentially you wander into a horror/mystery type scenario but never actually find out any of the details that tend to make such plots interesting. You can make a few meaningless choices that affect how the ending plays out in the most trivial and inconsequential of ways, but ultimately you'll be heading towards the same ending that was clearly written by someone who nows nothing about police procedure. It may be free, but it did absolutely nothing for me so I can't recommend.

Blameless is a simple horror game that delivers what it was supposed to. Not the most horrifying thing ever and takes roughly 20-60 minutes to complete, and that’s as long as it needs to be. It is excellent for people who want to start in the horror genre of gaming. This game lacks the spark other games possess.

This game was simply meh. I wish there was a neutral choice. It wasn't that this was bad really, it just wasn't good. It's free, so at least no money was wasted on it. Literally everything - movement, graphics, story, puzzles, - was simply.....meh.

I will give Blameless a 40%. It's hard decision to pick Thumbs up or Thumbs Down. I asked myself,''Would you recommend someone to TRY the game and then decide themselves, OR tell them to Stay away from this game?''

I am way more stuck and have been giving up alot of times as there is no tutorial/instructions/hints to what exactly you are supposed to do. Got trapped in the beginning room for the whole day. At first, I thought the game was bugged as not all objects are interactable.

Replying to the game's description on Steam: Gameplay Features

1. Realistic puzzle solving ----There is always more than one way to solve a problem. Think out of the box. I want to cut the lights wires in the first room and there is no option to do that. I want to saw/chop the long wooden plank and no options to do that. Player HAS to do it HIS(game developer's) way.

I can't carry more than one tool out of an area to use it in another area, unless the item/tool is 'marked' by the developer that it is 'a key item', which so far I have found out that the 'key' items: a broken Nokia phone, a victim's wallet with only her Library card able to be viewed, a scrap of paper with the address of your trapped location that you are currently stuck in, do not do anything or help to unlock things or give more information about the place or story at all, other then a silver key.

2. Investigative approach----Yes, to the point where I am gonna give up at breaking point.

3. Mysterious atmosphere----Yes. But it is the same feeling that one gets when you entered a out-of-hours office/building.

4. Alternative puzzle solutions----Yes. But as I have said this in point 1., the player HAS to do it the developer's way. Flexibility or answers, no.
You woke up in a construction site room, you found tools and a workshop bench table. One of the metal steel stick/wire can be bent and the voice actor prompts you to bend the stick on the workshop bench. I tried using 3 other tools(a saw, a hammer, a clamp, a snipper tool) to bend it, no interaction. I look up to the ceiling and saw a tiny black hole on a square tile. I picked up the stick and added a hammer/the sniper tool and opened the attic.

5. Story progression via exploration----Close to zero during the gameplay, other than the ending movie. The police just blames you for touching the victim's library card, did not do a thorough search in the area. No explanation of the new male character that only appeared(and walks slowly like the Escape from Granny game) before the player turns around and runs for 5 seconds to meet the police car.

6. Character voice over----Main character is ok. But the Letter reading sound exactly like a computer reading words. The policeman voice still soundlike reding off a book.

7. Element of tension----5 seconds of tension and lost of words at the ending scene. ''Huh? Why.. What?''

Overall, graphics and BGM are nice and realistic, but stage plot/design is bad.(eg. Let the player familiarise with things/hints before throwing the player into the deep end.)
The torch light is almost useless when I first picked it up, I thought it requires batteries for it to light up, as the torch doesn't seemed light up, only works at the later part of the game.
A nice graphic office warehouse walking simulator. No ghost, no monster, only a stranger which the player has to run away for 5 seconds and ends the gameplay. It's made in 2016.
I look forward to a better improved project from the developer in the future.

As of this review, I have 100% achievements in Blameless.

While I really don't have much to say, Blameless was a nice, short, and to the point puzzle game. The puzzles made sense, and by the end I felt pretty satisfied with how the gameplay, well, played out.

The story, is another thing. I can't say I necessarily like or dislike it. I can understand that it fits for how short the game really is (I beat it in a little over 30 minutes), but I just wish there was just a little something more. But nonetheless, it is what it is.

Overall, I can recommend Blameless to anyone who likes to work their brain, and can enjoy a neat little creepy atmosphere while they're at it.

I didn't see the horror aspect of the game. Some dark hallways, weak puzzles and open ending. This is more mystery game. And pretty weak one. It is too short and considering there are much better free games to play, I'm not recommending this one.

The Game was interesting.
Although I'm still waiting for part 2 since the protagonist did leave us hanging in is final words.
Suppose that feedback from the mouse could be improved.

And at a part where I got free in open space, I just blow up the garage and took the ladder, went to the scaffolding, walked, jumped in the backyard and got the ending way sooner. Din't fix the garage.

this was the stupidest game i've ever played in my ENTIRE life. only one ending and it sucked. I played the ending a good 7 times with no other outcome. enjoyed the gameplay, but stupid fucking game.

Blameless is an odd puzzle game about an architect who skipped all of his classes at highshool. I mean if he knew what to do - the game would at least give you hints. First room will take you more than 30 minutes to click all the objects that might operate with other objects, but the solution will be found by a pure luck. Let's go deeper: You're at the construction sight. You've been kidnapped. You are on the ground floor of some under construction house with cheep plastic windows. Do we break window glass and escape? No. We play a smartass and construct garbage out of another garbage to get deeper into a serial killers house. Profit! What do we do next? Well i guess we should finish his house construction. We are the architect FFS! We do our job!

This is funny: you will spent more that an hour trying to find what you need to do to progress, but the guides make this game a 5 minute joke while never shedding any light on the story. And indeed, what is the story? I admit i might have skipped something but what was the idea of all this? To understand something you have two options: search through the house for days and days, or probably go to the discussions/guides to find any answers there.

About the Horror genre: No horror and all. Some spooks like light go out and objects fall down. That's is.
For streamers: a dead female body face down on the floor. Some swears. No more triggers.

My thought on a game: Good for 1 playthrough. It makes you study the surroundings and think over the options to proceed. Unfortunately the solutions you will find might seem unexpected or dull. But we get what we get.

Blameless is a very interesting game that I spent a long time playing. Is it because at one point I was too scared to move forward? Maybe. But to be honest, I just replayed it so many times to try different endings and discover new possibilities of escaping.Is it a scary game? Yes.Is it a good game? Yes.Is it a game that's easy to understand? Not really. But it's a really nice thing to play if you enjoy horror and have a bit of time to spare.

Blameless is a short and engaging story using good immersing techniques allowing
you to get pulled into the story easily.
The first section of the game is quite tricky as it leaves you alone inside a room, with barely any hints on what to do to get out but still giving you a clear goal to achieve it.
Even though it's a source of complaint, it pushes your creative thought by letting out experiment with the different tools and objects around you, not making the answer clear and easy to get to, allowing for a satisfying feeling when a solution is finally found.
There's not alot of backtracking necessary keeping your eyes on the objective of getting out of the house,
something that lets us empathize in a simple manner with the character we are playing as, by sharing the same feeling of wanting to get out of the house and avoid potential danger.
I personally enjoyed the ending, it made for an interesting conclusion for the story, though the voice acting could've been done a bit better in my opinion. Overall a fun little experience.

Graphically the game looks good considering it was developed by a really small team, and it is even avaliable in multiple languages appart from english, the music and sound effects fit and feel at home, reminding me of oldschool thriller movies which I do believe was the feel the developers were going for.

On a Final note, Blameless is light, fast to download, well optimized game and takes about 1-2 hours to get trough. Would definitely recommend giving it a try.

The GamePlay, graphics and voice acting are pretty decent. it’s very short and there is only one ending no matter what you do. I’ll go with a thumbs up just to support and appreciate the work done by developers.

It's not a bad game (for its money). It's free ? Not a surprise.
I cannot say that the story is that memorable or the spooks are really present, it's more or less straightforward but you might get stuck on one small detail plus there are things that try to confuse you.
First impression was that this is a nice escape room simulator, eventually it was something like it, but severely scuffed.
If it's a first project - then A for effort.

I don't exactly make ratings, but I'll keep it brief.

I enjoyed this game for what it was, but I don't recommend it. There are alternative ways to play it, but they always end in the same result. You're a guy who's framed for murder, whether you touched anything or not. It would've had the potential to be a satisfying game, if it had an ending where you proved yourself innocent, but that potential is wasted.

I kept searching through Youtube Let's Plays to see if there really was an alternative ending, but they all ended the same way. It's got a scary atmosphere, I never liked being in derelict houses let alone construction sites at night and this short game captures it better than Outlast could've. I like that the game doesn't have you run away from any monsters, and it just boils down to being a single player puzzle game. Either way, I don't recommend it because I think you'll be disappointed with the ending.

Not a bad little game! And it's free! There aren't many free horror games that are as fleshed out as this one. I think that might make this a gem. :)

I'm grateful to the person who did the guide for this game because I would have been stuck otherwise. If played correctly, you can get all the achievements in one run. Main character voice acting was solid, but the other voices rubbed me the wrong way. The ending felt a tiny bit abrupt, but wasn't bad. I wouldn't mind playing more games from this Dev!

hm...
so the graphics and the voiceacting are pretty nice
but everything else is quite underwhelming
there is *some* suspense, but the climax of finally being chased after only anticipating it the whole time is way too short
the police are obviously stuck somewhere in the middle ages in their forensics and don't seem to know basic methods of investigating
also why is that guy not able to climb over a mere chainlinkfence or at least cut it open with the many tools around?
I'm giving it a meh, because it was kinda enjoyable but the negative aspects still overweigh.
I'm positive though that this developer is capable of making a way better game if they try to make everything more reasonable storywise.

for a free game this is actually surprisingly well made.

the story is not that new but gameplay, graphics and voice acting are pretty decent.
finishing the game takes less than an hour and that's fine for a lazy evening.

if this looks interesting to you and you are in the mood for some mild puzzles it's definitely worth checking out.
i played a lot of games that were way worse and i even paid money for them...

Wander your way through a maze of waist-high rubble, despite the fact that you are clearly a fit young man with enough intelligence to become an architect. Then, at the end of the game, perform a feat of acrobatics in order to escape the aforementioned maze, only to reach an extremely disappointing ending. 10/10 best free horror game.

This seems more like a demo than a full game. The graphics are nice, but it’s pretty short and there is only one ending. The ending raises the question of what exactly happened, but the developer said that there might be a sequel with some answers. Some of the hotspots are tough to find, but fortunately there are walkthroughs available. I’ll go with a thumbs up because it’s free and I was able to get all the achievements.

Blameless is a free and short horror game, where you try to escape an unfinished home.

Story:

You play as an unnamed architect. You arrive at a home with the promise of a job, but once you arrive there you quickly find out that something sinister is going on and you try to escape.

Honestly the story to Blameless is semi decent, even though there's not much of it, the set up is nice and it's a nice motivation for you to escape.

Graphics:

Blameless, for a free indie game looks pretty damn good. A lot of the graphics are pretty detailed with construction gear scattered through the entire home and the unfinished home looks great, so I have to give props to the developers.

Audio:

The sound effects are honestly pretty decent and help build a nice and unsettling atmosphere, so hearing something creak or make a noise makes you turn around to see if you're being chased or not.

The voice acting however is not good at all, it's honestly really quite bad and really cheesy, to the point where some line delivery makes you laugh, which breaks the immersion.

Gameplay:

Blameless is a puzzle driven horror game, you find items and use them to solve puzzles and for the most part it's decent, however my main gripe is the fact that it's quite difficult to find certain items, because in some sections there's so many things in a single room it might be slightly overwhelming to find what you need to solve the puzzles.

Also there are multiple ways to escape the house, so if you want to give the game another playthrough with a different escape route, you can do that.

Verdict:

For a free game Blameless is honestly a pretty decent game, it does suffer a bit with the overwhelming items in environments and the atrocious voice acting, but honestly I had fun exploring the house and getting creeped out and since it's free and you can finish it in 30 minutes, it's worth giving it a shot.

Final Rating:
7/10

+ Audio design helps build a great atmosphere

Cons:
- Atrocious voice acting
- In some environments there's too many things and finding puzzle items becomes a pain

What would you do if you woke up in some maniac's basement? It's very short but pretty strong little adventure, even though the ending is weak, it's still worth a playthrough, especially when it's free.
