Es ist soweit, die offizielle Mitteilung ist verschickt worden und wie es vermutet wurde, wird es einen neuen Battlefield 2 Patch geben. Leider wurde zum Inhalt und Datum für die Veröffentlichung nichts verraten, jedoch wurden andere Infos preis gegeben. Demnach wurden im Laufe der Jahre (mitterweile genau auf den Tag drei Jahre) an die 15 Millionen Spieler-Accounts angelegt und ist damit Nummer eins in seinem Genre. Eins ist auch klar, es wird eine BETA-Phase für den Patch geben. Wann, wie lange und wer da mit machen kann, bleibt erstmal noch offen.Es sind natürlich schon Gerüchte über Inhalt des Patches im Umlauf. Wie man bei den Kollegen von bf-games.net lesen kann, ist eine neue Map mit dem Namen Shanghai Showdown in einem Spielerprofil aufgetaucht. Es kann natürlich eine Custom Map sein, aber man geht davon aus, weil sie in den offiziellen Statistiken stand, dass diese eine offizielle ist. Mittlerweile wurde die Map seitens Electronic Arts aus seiner Statistik entfernt. Zeigt aber wohl, das man etwas zu verbergen hat und auf Nummer sicher gehen will.
Battlefield 2 celebrates its three year anniversary
On this day three years ago, Battlefield 2 was released and still remains one of the most played PC FPS titles.
With over 15 million player accounts being created since release, Battlefield 2 is still going strong. On the forums we often see discussions about whether there will ever be another update for the game. Well, today we are happy to announce that we are working on an update for Battlefield 2. We are planning to provide an open beta in the near future and we hope you’ll give us your feedback before final release; so watch out for that.
