Somit beginnt deine Reise.

Pro
+ kühle Protagonistin
+ schöne Geschichte, die in New Orleans spielt
+ gutes Kampfsystem, das Ähnlichkeiten zu AC3 hat
+ passender Soundtrack
+ aufpolierte Grafik und Texturen
+ Steuerrung mit Tastatur und Controller möglich
Kontra
- keine wirklichen Nebenmissionen

Fazit

Details : 6/10
I did not see specific details, but as if I had AC III.

Our main character was in 3 characters, it was interesting.
Optimization : 1/10
It did not run at all and I played in the remaster.

IF YOU MUST GET THIS GAME BUY IT ON SALE FOR LESS THAN 5 $ !
first of all DO NOT BUY THE DLC, even if you buy the DLC you will not get it as ubisoft has fully discontinued any support for this game whatsoever. even of you contact support they will tell you to look for future updates XD !
F U UBI ! if you don't support the game remove the DLC from the store ! you are stealing people's money !
second of all i have to give some credit to the developers as it is clear they loved the project they were working on but failed.
now to the game it self, the game starts good and being able to change persona is new and feels like a hitman game but as you progress you see there is no point in changing persona's much, and only a few missions force this.
the game has no story whatsoever, good guy kill bad guy is not story, story means a twist you don't see coming, or a character you fall in love with, or a dialogue that gets in your head, etc... this game has no story and no relation to other titles whatsoever...
the game was great on ps vita in 2012 ! it is just pure garbage now !
GOOD STUFF : persona change - main character and it's voice - canoe riding - acceptable graphics
===
i give this game : 4/10 ! THIS GAME WAS FUN ON PS VITA in 2012 ! it is pure garbage now !

The mission unlocks when you redeem the Ubisoft Connect Reward. Except it... doesn't anymore. I can't find anything online that says the Ubisoft Overlay doesn't work on this game anymore, but it doesn't. I got this game in October and I remember it working back then, and now it doesn't. Since the overlay doesn't work, the rewards cannot be accessed. There is a single mission you cannot play. It's not an important one, but it's still one that exists and you can't play it.
Let's be honest, if you're playing Liberation HD (and not Liberation Remastered) in 2022, you're probably a completionist trying to play everything. With that in mind, you will not like that this one mission cannot be played.
Will change to positive review if it gets fixed, or I find a fix. The game is largely average, but average doesn't necessarily mean bad.

The game takes place in and around New Orleans, and the main character is Aveline, who is not only a woman, but also a daughter of a French merchant and an African slave. This is an interesting background, at least compared to most AC games, and also an integral part of the story and the gameplay. I found the story to be nice, with interesting characters, but the storytelling itself is problematic. It’s very disjointed and hard to follow, especially in the first half of the game. It also doesn’t help that a lot of information is only available by doing side activities. Rushing through the main story will leave some people confused, I think.
The gameplay basics are taken from AC3, with all it’s good and bad aspects. The parkour is nice, but it does have the imprecision and difficulty of control that many early AC games have. The combat is fairly simple counter based, but with amazing animations. There’s a big new addition though, the persona system. Aveline has three outfits, and they affect the gameplay significantly. The assassin outfit has full combat abilities, can climb, but suspicious by default. The slave persona has limited weaponry, but can blend into almost any crowd. The third option, dressing up as a classy lady, prevents her from using parkour, but gives her the ability to bribe guards or charm men. On some missions we can choose which outfit to use, otherwise it mostly matters for side activities. There are some which can only be accessed by a specific persona.
Speaking of activities, there are a lot, as usual, but the ones worth doing in my opinion are collecting the diary pages and finding the CitizenE targets. Both add to the story, the latter expanding encyclopedia entries and affecting the ending too. Collecting isn’t easy though, since you only see collectibles on the map when you are close to them, which is quite inconvenient. The encyclopedia is pretty weak too. It only has info on the major characters, and not on landmarks. At least it lists them, so I can check them on wikipedia, but with a franchise so fit for edutainment, this aspect really shouldn’t have been neglected.
The menuing itself isn’t helping either, since it’s just so slow. When I press the map button it takes about 4 seconds to actually showing the map, and believe me, this adds up. The interfaces have always been overdesigned in this franchise though, so I’m not surprised.
The graphics may not be sate of the art, since this is a Vita port basically, but the visual design is great. One of the main areas is New Orleans, which is a well made and varied colonial town. I like how you can tell where you are in the city just by looking at what people wearing, and of course, the architecture. The other main area was the swamp, which just oozes atmosphere with the dirty waters, rotting trees, alligators, and voodoo idols. There are barely any roads, so we have to travel via canoe or running or branches, I really liked it.
Since the game takes place in a French speaking area, I did what I did with Unity, and played it with French dub, for immersion. I recommend this to everyone. The soundtrack didn’t have many outstanding parts, but the ambient music was excellent.
This game, despite being „scaled down” compared to main AC games, is really well done, and worth playing for those who like the franchise. I kind of wish it was a full AC game.

I had no technical bugs apart from one at the very start of the game which was resolved by simply restarting the game. The story is fine and well rounded, decent length. The music was also a highlight me aswell as some of the locations in the game, such as a jungle which is Aztec inspired and a swamp. Not sure why the game gets a bad wrap other than technical issues.

So I downloaded this game and got into the thick of things.
AC: Liberation is a good continuation of AC3 and is set around 1765 in New Orleans, bayou marshes, and Chichen Itza. The female protagonist Aveline is of mixed blood which gives the player the option to camouflage her as a slave girl, an assassin, or a genteel lady.
The missions are standard AC fare where there's a mastermind that you need to figure out so you trail people, threaten people, kill people and keep getting closer to your objective.
The ending was a surprise and I was like WTH!
But then in the post-credits, you get another ending! And I'm like: Ohhh!
Took me 11 hours to go through it. So its a good addition to the series. People who are AC fans can pick this up and play.

Now because this review is for an individual game, I unfortunately must give a negative review to Assassin's Creed Liberation. This is a VITA game that has been brought to PC and unfortunately the graphics, characters, and gameplay do not stand the test of time from when I originally played it. If you are a completionist like me please jump into this game and enjoy it! There are definitely some redeeming qualities. If you are looking to spend your money more wisely and you are trying to figure out if this game is worth a purchase, I unfortunately can't recommend it.

VERDICT:
Assassin's Creed Liberation certainly is a sour game to digest but isn't the worst game I've played. It's the worst Assassin's Creed game I've played to date, purely because Ubisoft tried to make a pretty penny instead of making a for filled game.
I can also see why it's a divided game due to the story being slightly confusing, the movement being even more clunky than the previous titles, and collectables can only be seen when you're up close which is extremely inconvenient.
But alas there are some positives to this game and the one that stands out the most has to be the female protagonist you play, Instead of one character, you get three personas: the Lady, the Slave and of course the Assassin. Each persona has their specific strengths and weaknesses. And the last thing that they never seem to disappoint on is the combat, fighting your enemies with your classic hidden blades or a sugar cane machete, It's very creative.
The overall gameplay is below par and I strongly recommend getting this on a discount.... This could easily pass as a DLC for Assassin's Creed III
Total Score = 61/100.

Pros:
- No pointless out of animus sessions. I enjoyed the Desmond out of animus sessions, but in Rogue they were little more than filler.
- No pointless ship grinding
Cons:
- Disjointed story that seemed to skip huge portions, and left questions unanswered.
- What story there is is entirely underwhelming. Once again it hurries too much without getting you emotionally invested in the character or her cause. It makes me wonder if Ubisoft even have any idea why AC2 & Brotherhood were so successful.
- The 3 personas thing seems promising, but is rendered more or less useless by the fact that only a single story mission gives you any choice at all in which one you use. But just because you're forced to use the slave persona with no armour and limited weapons doesn't mean you won't also be forced for fight a dozen enemies.
- The CitezenE sections were pointless. They seemed to serve no purpose beyond the developer saying 'we haven't forgotten this is supposed to be a simulation'. Though you'll be very thankful it exists when you get to the ending.
- Buggy. I had to restart missions numerous times after they bugged.
- The infamous 'I tried to climb so why the h*ll are you jumping the opposite direction' type issues are as bad as ever
- Very few side quests, and they don't appear until more than half way through the story. You could be forgiven for beating the game without realizing they even exist.
- Surprisingly some of the voice acting was quite bad, though not much
Verdict: 2/10

But... an engagingly different protagonist and interesting plot help. Aveline has 3 personas(Lady, Slave and Assassin) with their own sets of missions and this varies the gameplay from the standard AC fare.
It's hard to get your hands on this game outside of Steam, but it's worth investigating if it's on sale. It's a wee sidestep in the history of the franchise, Worth a try at least.

Why you will like this game:
- Strong female lead. We need this more.
- Meek male side-character with a cute romance angle that is not super heavily weighed upon.
- The persona angle of this game is fun. Each has their own strengths and weaknesses and those can be played upon. Eventually, you'll just end up with the powerhouse that is the Assassin persona, but all the same, they are fun.
- Collectibles were abundant and yet not too overdone. Also, they just show up on your minimap if you're nearby now. That made collecting them a lot more fun.
- The trading minigame was fun enough to do and easy going enough to just be put aside. Perfect balance.
- The story of this game is good enough, if not a little predictable. The Citizen E angle is a very interesting one and made it feel like a real assassin's creed game. Find the truth. (It's literally worth it.)
Minor gripes:
- Quicktime events. Ugh.
- I experienced some screen tearing. It doesn't bother me too much (since this is a mobile port) but some might find it annoying.
- Sometimes, the freerunning would really drive me up the wall. I guess it's hard for the game to know where to go when, but it did irk me enough to make a note of it.
- I don't particularly buy into the 'everyone's a bad guy' shtick, but some might find that enjoyable. To each their own.
My verdict? Play this game. It's good. It's worth your time and money. If you have to choose between this and AC3, play this. Then play this again. Then again, it will still be more interesting the third time than AC3 will be the first.

(-)
- The story is bland. (especially the present day plot with the whole Erudito things)
- Bad character development (i don't understand with the Louisiana Templar true motives wtf and Aveline's character development).
- The environment is too empty (especially the Bayou).
- Boring repetitive side quests.
- Many bugs and glitches (i often glitching into object and had to restart the entire memory sequence, and i can't even play this game in full resolution wtf).
- The soundtracks is really bad compared to its predecessors.
(+)
- We get to see the cameo of
Connor Kenway
in this game.
- A few new gameplay mechanic, which is really interesting.
Final verdict : Don't buy this crappy game, unless you want to throw your money to buy this garbage. If you want to experience the story of Aveline, just read wikis or watch the gameplay on youtube. Not even worth $10.
3/10

Liberation makes great use of Aveline to diversify not only the world of video game heroines, but the design ideas that have been associated with Ubisoft's hit franchise so far.

I found this game was a little easier and simpler to master than AC3, I really liked the ability to change outfits and persona's and I made sure to unlock every colour and type of outfit I could.
The story was a bit meh...but I did have some fun playing this game despite that.
I found the game run pretty well in New Orleans but a bit buggy in the swamp. I got stuck in a few places and had trouble staying in the trees once or twice too.
I would have liked to be able to use the vistas for fast travel, especially in the swamp but the maps and the game are small enough for this to not be so much of an issue.
I actually managed to get the ship/resource management system working to make money, a combination of left click and keyboard. It took me a while as I'm used to being able click on everything with the mouse in modern games.
Id say give this game try but don't pay too much for it. 10-15 euro is more than enough for the size and quality of this game.

- Climbing is sometimes bugged and you don't end up where you're supposed to.
- Tabbing out of the game is impossible because the game will always crash.
- Stores you bought sometimes don't register as such, making everything more expensive and
blocking access to the trade routes.
- The camera control gets disabled for way too long after certain actions, like looting.
- Animations are sometimes glitched, not to mention that the cutscenes in general aren't made very well in every aspect. They're not bad, just not as good as they were in previous ACs.
None of the bugs are major, but they are annoying and damage the gaming experience.
What I liked about the game was the persona system, where the protagonist has three personas to chose from, each with their own abilities and limitations. Besides that it's just as I described it above, just another AC game, just a little worse.
I wouldn't recommend paying more then 10 bucks for it.

POSITIVES:
+Gameplay+
It is the gameplay of the original series, with the evolution stopped at AC3. You parkour your way through a historic population center, stalk and kill targets using stealth and plow through crowds of enemies using them slick Assassin moves. Pretty much the entire moveset that Aveline employs in combat has been lifted from AC3, which I appreciate since the brawling style of Connor was very fun. This however lead to some immersion breaking moments where her hidden blade does stuff that it shouldn’t, since Connor’s was a knife with a mechanism that allowed it to be gripped by the handle when deployed, while hers is the traditional wrist strapped hidden blade. It’s nothing major, but I noticed it.
The interesting bit comes from the Persona mechanic. Aveline can operate as either an Assassin, where everything functions like in previous games, a Lady, where she can bribe guards, charm men and move inconspicuously along the streets, but with severely limited mobility and arsenal due to her attire (“Well, women in London must have learned not to breathe.”) and a Slave persona, which she can use to blend into the crowds, incite riots, infiltrate restricted areas etc. Seeing how a mission can often be completed at least a couple of different ways was a bit of fresh air in comparison to previous entries.
+Story+
The story is above decent and exploring the viewpoint of a person who has been placed in a different place in society than what was intended for them. In a way Aveline is an outcast in every respect. Since the game was originally mean for the Vita, it is way more truncated than a typical franchise entry and it makes the game faster paced as the story ramps up, but will leave people who love to explore tiny different quest lines a bit dissatisfied. Still, there was enough quality there for me to be satisfied with what I got.
NEUTRALS:
=Graphics=
The game has pretty much the same engine and fidelity as AC3, but there was no place in the game that really showcased what was beautiful about its graphics like there was in the third instalment. Furthermore, while the fidelity of the game might have been the same, since the game is essentially a remaster of a Vita title, environments had simpler geometry and less asset density, which made the game world much sparser.
=Presentation=
The only standout area of the game for me was the swamp part of the Bayou which harkened a bit to the forest environment of the previous game, even though it had worse traversal flow, and a bunch of invisible walls, where there shouldn’t be. Still, the game as a whole has more than enough quality to it, and the voice acting is generally decent. There are notably awesome areas like underground caves, ancient ruins and a trippy final level, but all they did was whet my appetite and stop way before it was sated.
=Lore=
There is practically no story to follow up the modern story of AC3, while the historical part is more concentrated on a short glimpse into the Templar order and a First Civilization acquisition struggle. Still it’s satisfying enough, and I guess Ubi had to get their bearings after wrapping up the modern-day arc of the previous franchise entries.
=Music=
While the music is decent, there were no standout themes like in previous entries. I can’t think of a single moment that was “made” by the music.
CONCLUSION:
This is very much a bite-sized entry into the franchise, and while it is a thoroughly decent experience, if you have the AC itch like I had, it will leave you wanting more. As a quick palate cleanser from a live-service game and even as a short adventure, it performs admirably, but don’t expect something on the scale of a main entry to the franchise.

To the story! I didn't really get in to the story as when I played the regular parts or the Assassins Creed. I think I missed some sort introduction -- anyhow, the DLC in my opinion isn't worth 19,99 due to the bugs (it's quite frusttrating.)
