This is barely a negative review, while I really like this game and think it has the potential to be a 5/5 game, this game is mired with bugs and poor balance to such a degree that I cant give it a positive review at the moment.

Arcade Paradise is a super cool game about running an arcade (and laundromat) and slowly expanding it, It gives me nostalgia for something i barely experienced, its always cool to finally save up enough cash to finally expand the arcade and see what cool new games you can buy and a lot of the games are fun or cool twists on older games of the era. You also progress faster bu playing the games you buy and completing challenges, which in turn makes them earn more money, rewarding you for engaging in every aspect of the game which goes along with daily tasks that give you a special currency used for upgrades like faster movement or extending the day so you can do more.

Unfortunately, the game seems to front lode the game with the cooler cabinets, after about the halfway through the game, i found myself rarely getting a good new cabinet or getting something that after playing once i never wanted to touch again. for instance, I understand why Shuttlecocks(pong) is in the game, but why would I ever want to play pong, there are multiple games like this, tedious or just not fun to play, but to make them earn a reasonable amount of money, you need to play them and complete challenges, it really turns into a drag after a while.

To add to that the balance, for lack of a better term, on the challenges is all over the place, some you can do in one or two plays on the cabinet, while others take far to long to grind out, add the grind to bad controlling cabinets like pool, darts or Foosball makes it painful to boost their value.

Speaking to the balance elsewhere, you get 3 tasks everyday to do various thing, like get a certain score in a game etc. giving you a second currency (pounds sterling) to buy upgrades that help streamline or improve the experience. You get 15-20 Pounds per completed task, which seems fine in the beginning, but towards the end of the game, you are still only earning 15-20 per task, while most upgrades cost 300-600, with only a few cost 50-250. It takes way to long to get these things and as previously stated, you get more cabinets that aren't fun, which means you will start getting task for the new cabinets, with the difficulty or those challenges being all over the place, some easy, some way to hard and to make it even worse, they are random and cant be changed, its a massive grind.

The challenges are made worse by how buggy this game can be. I've had challenges reset, after i had completed them, Sometimes the text is straight up wrong so i have no idea how to finish the challenge, or even sometimes, the game doesn't even work so I cant get anything done. But the worst one I've encountered is whenever a goal is scored in Foosball, the game permanently starts running in slow motion and wont stop until I quit out of the game.

(TLDR) I REALLY want to love this game, and its so close, but sadly its mired in bad bugs and balance that it makes it hard to recommend ATM. I'll come back and update the review, if whatever patch they release fixes the problems i have with the game, and i hope they do.

Did your childhood have trips to Vegas where you got to play in the arcades? Or a pizza place with a really rad selection of games? Maybe the local comic store was so fun because it had those machines you loved? Did little you dream of making your own place where you could play games all day and get paid for it?

Yeah? Buy in. The game starts a little slow, and I need to tell you: Ignore, the freaking, laundry. It's not Laundry Paradise, it's Arcade Paradise. Follow your dreams, get some passive income going and enjoy the games.

The game has a few story misses, but overall: Lovely, and lets you play out your childhood fantasy of your own arcade to help make people happy. Plus, anyone who's on your favorite game gets de-rezzed the second you get close to them.

Man, I wish I got 60 bucks every time I took out the trash. I'd have the cleanest place on the western hemisphere.

I will warn you that if you play this game for too long you'll develop a strange compulsion to fire up The Witcher and have Geralt take a long walk off a short pier.

It is an average game of grind this and that, it has minimal fun. The early grind is decidedly boring, it does get better with time but only just. The controls are straight forward if a bit clunky. Perhaps with time this could be a bit better but as of now it is about 75% as far as worth goes 5-10$ game, good for a couple hours of fun. I wish there was a neutral recommendation.

Arcade Paradise manages to make playing arcade games monotonous and feel like a chore. Additionally, the main sim portion of the game is more basic and less developed than any other sim that I've played. There's very little customization freedom, besides choosing which predetermined location to put an arcade machine and selecting it's difficulty/cost.

If playing knockoff arcade games, with worse graphics and mechanics than the originals, are your fetish... this game is for you.
