Über das Spiel

ANNO 2205 – das heißgeliebte Aufbau-Echtzeitstrategiespiel startet jetzt ins All.

It's 2020, Uplay can't be that bad anymore I thought.
A blackscreen bug rendering the game completely unplayable can't be a tripple A game issue i thought.
Even if there would be such blackscreen bug, they would have fixed it in the last 5 years since so many players have the same problem I thought.

Stupid me, Ubisoft will never stop fuckking their customers. AND NO, I will not install some experimantal tribers potentially destrying my graphics card for everything else then Anno 2205. It's your duty to fix this fucking bullshit if you wanna sell your games.

Broken bullshit, blackscreened out 4 times in the last 20 minutes.

DON'T BUY UPLAY SHIT, IT IS BROKEN! THEY HAVEN'T FIXED THIS GAMEBREAKER BUG SINCE 5 YEARS AND THEY PROBABELY NEVER WILL.

Schade eigentlich,

terrible cloud saving. should allow me to play it fully offline. why do publisher make their game worst and worst by adding inferior online feature? gameplay is what you expect of anno, but the quest is really bad, it doesn't tell you where it is, and when you click to delivery something the ship bug out and doesn't delivery it automatically so u have to spam it, it really weird that a strategy game require this much micro for a side mini game, but since it is a mini game you can't avoid it completely so it not a deal breaker. still i expect a more reliable experience.

Uplay/Ubisoft store really is as bad as people say, after buying this and connecting it to a Uplay account, it stopped working after one day, the account no longer recognises me as owning the game so I cannot launch it no matter what I try, contacting steam support only got me a refund for the DLC season pass I had purchased, not the main game as I had over 2 hours of playtime, despite only being able to play the game once, for one day, before it stopped working.

I do not suggest this game to people at all, and I am very disappointed with steam support for their response to my issues.

One of the most well produced futuristic building games in existence. A lot to experience about a realistic science fiction world not terribly far in the future from us.

If you just chill your multifarious expectations from the Anno series, play on easy, and ignore the annoying ubisoft platform, then you'll see how much beauty there is in this game.

If you are looking for some competitive well-balanced game with good AI opponents, very much in the vein of Anno and don't care a ton about the theme, then you can skip it since there's many other Anno games you can play instead.

The game bugged resulting in me being unable to exit and I had to force quit, which resulted in 12 hours of gametime lost after redesigning pretty much every map and supply chain I had running. This happened because they don't let you save on your computer and you have to sync with their uplay servers, however, if the (now unsupported) game bugs and doesn't let you quit like what happened to me you're out of luck. That's completely unacceptable.

With the Anno 2070 servers having been quietly murdered to hobble you in the game (to the point of unplayability), this is the best (and only) sci-go themed Anno game you can get.

If you do get it, only buy at a STEEP (80%) discount. It’s not superb and Ubisoft does not deserve your money.

I watched. I waited. I kept an open mind, filtering out the reviews which were only complaining about ubisoft's policies, as opposed to the game itself.

I fell in love with an entirely different city builder (Tropico 6), spent dozens of hours on it, and realized I'd quickly need something similar to pick up the slack once I got bored with it.

I bought the game.

I booted it up -- or tried to. Ubisoft's launcher really is *precisely* that bad. Don't ignore all the complaints -- you *will* have to fight to get this b.s. running.

But, eventually, I achieved success. The game was running. I was building. The tutorial was clear, if a little on the dry side after Tropico 6. The graphics were pretty, the music was good, the UI was intuitive *enough*. However, all that fighting with Ubisoft meant that I only had an hour to play before I needed to crash.

'Fine, tomorrow's another day,' I thought to myself. 'I'll just save and head to bed.'

I'll just save.

I'll... just... saaave....

Except, of course, that I would do nothing of the sort, because this game does not allow manual saves. Of any kind. At all. The player gets ONE -- count it -- ONE save file to work with, to which the game auto-saves their progress.

Maybe.

If the process works today.

Guess how often it fails. *gestures, grandly, to the Discussion threads about this very thing which I wish I'd read before spending my time and money on this b.s.*

So, no, you *can't* have multiple games at once -- not even 2 or 3.

No, you *can't* save when you'd like to -- not unless you also want to quit.

So, this is me *thanking* Ubisoft for having such a **** launcher. Why? Because if it hadn't taken so long to boot up this game, I might have played too long to get a refund.

Looks really nice but the game is super tedious and repetitive. Here is the main gameplay:

Build Building A 100 times, along with some support structures.
You unlocked a new area, build a reskin of Building A 100 times there too
You unlocked Building B, which requires you to build 100 more of Building A
Build 100 Building B's
And so forth....

Fiddling with hundreds of trade routes, fiddling with fire stations placements all day long, the same boring settings over and over...that's what I found in other Anno games - endless tedium. This Anno is way more relaxing, satisfying and throws away all the tedium of the other games.

It's an ok building/management game but the worst out of the Anno series. It throws out many of the well known mechanics but doesn't add enough for depth or long term motivation.

i love the game itself, its ubisoft Uplay that i find to be not user friendly. i bought the game in 2016 after it was released and Uplay was a bit different than now and i was under a different username than my current one. they wanted proof of ownership, i was stumped for awhile why this was happening, i mean steam and Uplay were suppose to be connected, how can they not see that i own the game. at that point i just uninstalled and removed from library, and now anything related to ubisoft i won't even consider to buy

Underrated. Very good addition to the Anno series.
Relaxing single player game with many hours of gaming.
Multiple layers of game mechanics (stock market optional).
Good soundtrack and graphics, plays well in 2021 at 4K.

It's good. It provides a single-time fun experience. If city-buidling+sci-fi combination excites you, definetely try this game.

It's good to mention that there is no replayability and you'll mostly sigh in relief when the campaign is over for good.

Anno 2205 is my introduction to the Anno series. I wanted to try the series and read that Anno 2205 wasn't a true Anno game in the way all of the others were and therefore it could be seen as a lighter game to get into. I wanted to play a slow paced, relaxing game. Unfortunately, Anno 2205 is relaxing in the same way that being continuously kicked in the testicles is relaxing.

2205 gives the impression it is a city builder but it is more of an economy simulator. You are in charge of a company or at least that is what you are supposed to be. Instead, I found myself less like a company CEO and more like an apprentice, running around tending to everybody's needs who can never be truly satisfied, while also performing fetch quests for other companies and individuals.

I will start by saying that the game looks absolutely superb with great looking buildings and landscapes. You are able to zoom in and see people walking around, flying vehicles, ground vehicles and animations of everything going about its business. There are a number of different environments such as temperate regions, tundra and arctic landscapes; all looking superb, with great looking mountains, valleys, trees and water. You can also settle on the Moon with its barren, cratered landscape quickly being populated with buildings, tracked vehicles and lights everywhere for that colonised, offworld look.

Sound is also very nicely done. Lots of little ambient sound effects, very good music and everything sounds professionally put together.

I couldn't help but feel stress while playing the game, however. As you build houses, your population needs food and water, plus materials to build with. That in itself is absolutely fine and to be expected of any city builder. Where it gets awkward is the amount of things you need to do as you try to expand and promote your people to a higher tier. Promotion means more money in the bank, except for when you are spending more money, building facilities to cater for their higher needs as that causes the cost of maintenance to increase. If their needs aren't met, they don't produce as much money or they leave altogether. There is a constant demand for goods while watching your bank balance go down. To create a particular good, you need a particular building to manufacture it, but you can't start manufacture until you build a mine to get a particular resource. That requires energy to power the operation, so you need to build a power source, which might need a separate resource all of its own that needs mining. That all means spending money. The main way to profit is to have a higher population so you build more settlements to counter the cost of the buildings you have set up, but obviously doing that increases the demand for things. Often, goods will require two different sources to make them available, so it is a constant juggling act.

This situation is increased by the various regions in the game. A mineral or resource will be needed by your population in one region but it is only available elsewhere, such as the arctic or the Moon. That means setting up in those areas where people will have different needs and possibly higher maintenance costs because of the environment. Those goods then need to be transported from one region to the next (which costs money).

While all of this is happening, there are overall objectives and regional objectives. Those alone will often require you to have a surplus of something such as energy, resources or goods. To meet those goals you could end up unbalancing things and causing your bank balance to plummet.

At the same time, you have a small naval force to control and upgrade. You use this fleet to fight in missions which will gain you certain resources you can't get otherwise. Here, the game behaves more like a real-time strategy wargame as you move your ships towards targets while using collectable energy points to use special weapons or repair your ships. More importantly, you need this fleet because throughout the game, an enemy character sends his forces to one of your regions, cutting off its trade routes, thus affecting your people. You can never truly defeat this leader. You can sink all of his ships and blow his bases to bits but he keeps coming back. I also find it odd how, seeing as he is based on the Moon, he seems to have unlimited naval forces on Earth.

By far the worst part of the game and one of the most egregious things I have seen in a game in a long time is the stock market. When your company reaches a certain level you are given the option on whether you want your company to go public. Entering the stock exchange creates a whole level of stress that screws up enjoyment of the game more than anything else. At first it seems good because it creates a new aspect of the game and your money vastly increases. You then bid alongside five other companies for each other's shares. If you bid on your own shares, the more of your company you own, the more influence points you gain. You need influence to start an auction, stop an auction from happening, stop others from making high bids or to carry out corporate espionage actions. The problem with this part of the game is that your own shares get put up for auction whether you want them to or not. You don't choose to sell your shares, the other companies decide to do it for you. They help themselves to your shares, forcing you to try to stop the auction by spending influence or meaning you have to bid your own money on your own stock to beat them to it. If you win, you lose all the money you bid. If they win, you gain the money they bid but overall will have less shares, meaning lower overall profits or influence to perform necessary actions.

You can bid on their shares in the same way but unlike you where you have a constant need to spend money making your people content and dealing with the enemy leader blockading your regions, they seem to have stacks of cash just to play the stock market with. If they win the bid on their own share, they don't lose any money (unlike you). You might even find that as soon as you have won a share, now that they have lots of money they will start an auction to get their own share back, which they can decide to do while you are stuck because you have just spent money and influence to start the previous auction. In the end, you are trying to take over their companies not for profit but just to shut them up as you are either spending influence or money.

It can all get too much. Your constantly moaning population saying they want something, the enemy deciding to blockade a region of yours (and only yours), watching your bank balance fall (and maybe need another loan), messages saying your trade route is no longer providing enough and then another company deciding they are going to put your shares back up for auction. This can all happen at the same time.

I also found later that the separate World Market can make profits valueless as you can buy something from them that you know a region's local trader is offering to buy and sell it at a much higher value. I was able to top out my bank balance quickly and this was often the only way I could compete with the other companies when they happily lay down their millions.

If you are planning on buying this game I think it would be more enjoyable and a lot less stressful to not enter the stock market and remain a private company. That way you can also decide not to opt into the World Market and play the game with better mechanics.

Overall though, despite how nice the game looks, you might be better choosing another Anno game. However, I wonder how they will be if Anno 2205 is considered to be a lighter, more streamlined version!

Anno 2205 was a necessary step in evolving the series, it changed many things and had innovative ideas but it also lost some of its elements that made previous games good. 2205 is not a bad game but it's by far the weakest in the series i have played. You will have a better time with either the more traditional games like Anno 1404 and Anno 2070 or the newest entry Anno 1800 where a lot of 2205 innovations have paid off.

This game received a lot of criticism when it was first released. Many compared the game to its predecessor and that is understandable to a degree. However, this game has a lot to offer in terms of careful economy management and expansion. It can also come as daunting at first but by trial and error, you can slowly learn how to manage your corporation properly. The naval battles are a bit of a let down and come off as regurgitating. They become more of an exhausting and taxing affair once you've done them so many times. That being said, there are a lot of customization options available to help people ease into the game before making it challenging later on once you get a grasp on things. I can go into all the little nuances of all the options and game play but that would go on forever, and the core Anno series aspects remain the same. If this game can be picked up on a sale, which they have all the time, it is definitely worth some time to get into and give it a shot to form your own opinion.

Like just about every Anno game, once you can get past the stupid Ubisoft software, this game is beautiful and has hours of game play time.

The only thing I really do not like about this particular Anno are the ship missions. I find them tedious and it sucks you have to do them because you are gated in the story line if you do not.

Pros:
- Addition of workforce.
- Hard catchment area of production and service buildings replaced by distance-by-road system.
- Continuous campaign mode is better than a series of missions.
- A.D.A.M. delivers cheeky banter whereas E.V.E. was rather creepy.

Cons:
- Military feels really simplified. You can't even build ships and the missions become an annoyance after the first few times.
- I think they tried to make the trading system more convenient, but they ended up making it too simple.
- Campaign doesn't feel finished.

Verdict:
They added some good new things but they made the overall game too simple in the process. If you want a futuristic Anno, play Anno 2070. (Contrary to recent reviews, it IS playable if you follow the steps to apply the simple patch.) Otherwise, play Anno 1800. Anno 2205 is the worst of both worlds.

Something is off about Anno 2205. I kept forcing myself to play the game, and I wasn't sure why....

I like the concept of having multiple settlements, that support each other. Upgrading buildings to increase function is also cool. That's about it for positives I can think of. I was excited to see rts elements in a city builder game. I thought that might be a nice compliment to the building. Something to break up the city building grind, but that ended up being the worse part for me. The combat really reminds me of a ds era rts game, which isn't a compliment. It's just mindless, the only strategy is to pick up weapons to help speed up the level, and try not to pull multiple enemies.

As for the city building aspect, I guess most city games have a system where you build buildings in order to unlock and build other buildings. But in Anno 2205 it's so blatant, like you can't build settlement buildings unless you have enough resources, so then you build the resource building to get settlement buildings, in order to add workers to build resource buildings and rinse and repeat.

Definitely not worth it's steep price tag. There's too much up breaking up the potentially addicting city building aspect.

As with every UbiSoft game, this game is fraught with errors and game bugs. Once you encounter the game bugs that prevent you from finishing simple missions (about 15% into the game) my advice is, uninstall and move on a decent game. The story in this game is boring anyway, and this is just a cut and paste of their last game in this franchise - also say hi to DLC and microtransactions.

I thought i purchased a City builder game. It seems a purchased a ship combative game with a tiny city builder tacked on the side. Worse there are regions specially designed to be impossible to profit from, and then regions designed to be insanely profitable so you make extra surplus to outweigh the punch in the face the regions causing you debt is giving you.
I've tried to like it several times over a few years and i keep going back because i really, really want to like it. I just can't. I HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE the ship combative part. HATE IT.
Why do you force this on me in a city building game?!!?!?!?!?!

For an opening statement - never played any other 'Anno' game, so I don't have that kind of luggage.

This game is a better 'Surviving Mars', in my opinion. Pretty casual, relaxing, not that many production chains but still enjoyable due to different environments. The maps are few, but enough, at least in the full game a.k.a. The 'Ultimate edition'. There are 4 difficulty settings, but I would recommend jumping into 'Veteran' asap. While there's a lot to do, the game isn't that re-playable or rather - it's a waste of time to start over; so yes, stick to the Veteran difficulty and don't look back.

U-play is a bit off-putting, but there are U-play free versions out there in the web if you know what I mean, hue hue.

Regardless, bought this on sale for 12,49€ and no regrets. Highly recommended.

I actually like this game, and I don't regret my purchase a bit, but it has an enormous flaw - an unpatched memory leak that grinds the game to a crawl after an hour or so, or even less. The more population you have, the faster it occurs, by the way. Now, most people and most reviews don't like the seriously relaxed difficulty, but that doesn't concerns me, because the game scratches my particular itch - a game where I can build pretty looking cities without worrying about tactics too much and then gawk at them from every angle. And here the game doesn't disappoint - it is very pretty, and its design style is nothing but eye candy for me.

For that, I can forgive things like memory leaks, Denuvo, that piece of garbage Uplay... I can deal with that. But I'm an exceptional individual. Probably you won't have the same kind of patience as I do, so you would probably dislike this game. Maybe you should play Anno 1404 instead, or maybe 1800... if it wasn't a bloody EGS exclusive.

P.S. Anno 2205 certainly runs better than Anno 2070, which doesn't launch at all, ffs!

First negative review, I'll try to keep it brief. The games okay, built solid no bugs, looks great, has a lot of personality but past the looks its boring. The play cycle is repetitive and since you need to balance production across multiple sectors its annoyingly repetitive. You try do do something in the a place then you see you need more resources from a second place go there, then you find out in order to supply the first place from the second place you need resources from a third place. It becomes even more unbearable towards the end of the game when you are trying to balance 20+ resources in massive quantities. It also has navy battles which are also boring after the first couple and feel like the devs realized how little there is in the game and tried to spice it up, with resource rewards but you could never play any of them and not miss a thing. The dlcs are passable I didn't even touch two of them. Lastly and this is a bit more personal Ubisoft has the game run through its terrible launcher and has a lot of bonus's and cosmetics locked behind their Ubisoft Club which is stupid because you pay for the full game. All in all I did have some fun and don't regret buying it but if you asked me if I recommend it I'd say no. If you are really dying to play it catch it on a sale its not worth full price which is a shame it has so much potential.

This is my first Anno game. Bought the game after having played it 80+ hours elsewhere. And I just want to say, what a great and talented group of artists who imagined how the future is going to look like and actually implement it in a game. This game is seriously deep in terms of future technology, energy, and other demands of the human civilization. When you zoom in to soak up the sound of the streets, it reminds you star trek, star wars, 5th element, blade runner, and every sci-fi movie out there, and the realistic sound of machinery fading in just seals the deal - best game purchase ever!

It was here that I learnt about stock markets and trading. There need not be a military aspect for a time and setting like this, but it's there. Managing trade routes alone are enough to occupy your time and you will be giving constant attention to maintaining supply for elite class citizens.

I DUCKIN LUV IT! its exactly what i wanted a relaxed building sim - hours of beautiful animated progress - hundred little options and quirks - just landed on the moon - if u like slow and (a lil) hard-fi that game is perfect - not much action not much story but buildings humans and resources!

Unfortunatly your steam account is not enough, you need to log into Ubisoft to play it.
So.... enter email enter pass. Easy.
But....
Ubisoft wants you to be online to do the first launch.... but i am.
Retry, no good, you go to their website, do everything from scratch try to log ..... you need to be online. What the actual fuck? I am on your website. I am online.
3 hours trying to get around this i give up. 9.99 euros i dont need to cry about. No more Ubisoft games for me. That was it. By.

This is my first Anno game, and while I've read varying pespectives about this being better, worse, or average, that's probably very subjective. Overall I would say that it's a fun city/trady management game. It's simple to learn (I play it with my 5 year old) but difficult to master. There is lots of micromanaging and puzzles to be done. Side missions give rewards to make the building easier. The battling component is optional, but helpful.

Will it ever be your favorite builder in your Steam collection? Probably not, but the 30 or so hours I've spent relaxing with the laid back soundtrack and sleek, futuristic ambiance while I try to fit tiles together in the most efficient manner have been fun.

I know, it's not usual, but I never played any Anno games before 2205, so for me, the world and the habits of the game were a totally new experience. Maybe also in that matter, I was genuenly amazed by the detailness and especially by the graphics of this game: Anno 2205 is one of the most beautiful graphics among all the strategy games I ever played. As my profile shows, I'm mainly a strategy game player, so in that aspect, I trully believe, no one will be disappointed by the looks of this game. The only downsides are the battle missions, wich are needlesly long and not interesting enough, mainly because the corporation building part of the game is much more refined and with the 4 different types of locations and resource gathering mechanics it's a nicely complex experience. I totally recomment this game, just the 4k camera fly wievs alone worth the price - wich will need a relativly powerfull machine to run :)
